This is a great change of pace review for you. The information, your must-haves, really help when considering such an important purchase. It allows a persons to step back, review all of the pros/cons you discussed, and of course, your experience during your journey of purchasing your Sanctuary. Definitely re-thinking my thoughts on all lithium vs solar with a propane backup. I did like that you mentioned that lithium systems are getting better. The 19L for me, is too confining, but prices are super competitive. All in all a great change of pace review!!! Keep it up, can’t wait to see more as we get into Spring and Summer, as you start more off-road adventures.
Thank you so much for all the kind words. I created this video to answer some viewers' questions and to help others think about all the different considerations that should go into an RV purchase. There are so many things to take into account and I hope the video helps many people consider various aspects such as how much Lithium power is needed, what size inverter, how much solar or if it is easier to just have a generator. Thanks for watching!
I definitely think that will help. It’s a hard decision, since like you, I want to be able to explore off the beaten path, so there are so many things to think about holding tank size, lithium, amount of solar panels, etc. This helps me to create a checklist that I can use. Have a great day, and keep up the awesome videos.
Ruby - this video just pushed your collection of UA-cam reviews into a much much higher bracket! Great editing and delivery! I’m a bit biased but I really appreciate and enjoy your #2 spot - and bias or not I think Thor has improved on the quality a bit too. And the price ratio with what you get is hard hard to beat.
I agree that Thor's quality seems to be improving and in fact during my review of the Thor Synergy 19P last week I noticed and mentioned that the RV seems to have been built better. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for these reviews. I enjoyed watching it. My favourite from the lot is number 6, I loved the layout, the bathroom (sizeable with a flushing toilet), the freshwater capacity, the TV and microwave included, the kitchen countertop, generator, sliding screen door and overall quality.
Hello Valynteena, that one is certainly gorgeous inside and out! American Coach Patriot makes great quality RVs. I am so glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for watching! 🤗
Thank you for the compliment. I actually created an entire criteria rating system and assigned points for each RV to come up with a unbiased rating. Thanks for Watching!
Love from Canada! First thing first, thanks for adding a name to Ryker Mom 🙂Best video ever to quickly refer to and see which ones one can consider for buying. Unfortunately, we live in Ontario, Canada and we don't have all kinds of B Class RVs available here. Furthermore, we got to have both excellent heater and AC.
Thanks R-Mom .. you made me think a lot I really want the Sanctuary or Tranquility . I will they had a model that was part L and part P. I think I will go L and do some mods to help the area around the refrigerator and microwave. Of course the counter top extension and your mod the over head storage.. Great job and you I hope you know you are actually really helping us folks that are novice. Have a great day . Steven
Extremely well done review. However, a combo grey and black water tank is a major design flaw., You are forced to wait in line at the dump station. Cassette toilets are a must for the off road crowd. One can legally dump your grey water when off grid, then dump the five gallon cassette at the nearest flush toilet, and easily refill the water tank at any gas station……never sto Of course, if you are a full service campsite user, then no problem. But a 144 Mercedes camper van is designed for off-road. It seems to me your design criteria is better suited for the larger van models. Again, a very professional comparison.
I would agree that I prefer the cassette toilet system better than a black tank as I can go for a quick weekend trip off grid and not worry about finding a dump station before going home. Thanks for Watching!
Hello JP, thank you so much for the compliment. This was one of the harder and more time consuming videos to create but I am glad to see that it is helping others decide which RV is for them. Thanks for Watching!
I looked at every class b made up until December 2020 except the Storyteller and that is the van we bought. The build quality is number 1 instead of the number 10 spot. I laughed at seeing the revel at number 5 when people Sell their revel for Storytellers :)
Absolutely fantastic video. Thank for putting so much into this! I’m on my way to pickup your #3 this weekend and ironically, you’re first and second choices rounded our my top three after months of my own reviewing. I really wanted the Thor since it’s such an incredible value but just couldn’t get past the quality control concerns. Thanks again for putting so much effort into this comparison video.
Thank you so much for the compliment! Yes this video took a lot of time and research to create. I think the Launch / Terrain is a great option and I am sure you'll be very happy with it. Just make sure to conduct a very thorough PDI and document any issues before signing the final paperwork. Thanks for Watching!
Great comparison! When comparing power systems, you should be comparing KWH not AH though, because AH doesn't take voltage differences into account. For example you mention the Entegra Launch battery being smaller than Revel, but's actually considerably larger in capacity because 48v vs 12v.
GREAT review Ruby! Flows freely and has a nice flair! So complete and so detailed. Ultimately these are not for everybody (maybe 10%)...very utilitarian and rough.
I look at it this way, the Thor Sanctuary built on the Mercedes 4X4 Diesel chassis with the 19P layout was a good starting place. The chassis is proven and the most important aspect of the RV for me and everything else is customizable to what I want. Thanks for Watching and supporting my channel.
Excellent review! For me the driving experience is by far the most important. That and a big bathroom as I am 6'1. So I like the Midwest Passage FD2 (2 wheel drive) best. The 4 wheel drive is tall and will get blown around more. We drive over 2000 miles each way to get to the mountains so getting blown around is not acceptable. The 2wd with the XD 2500 suspension and the quiet Midwest Limousine type interior is best I feel for long distance driving. Just getting to and from the western states comfortably and safely is enough. I don't have to get into the most remote campsites to feel like I'm getting away. Just leaving the eastern states behind for a few weeks at a time is great!!
Great review! I actually like the #2 choice as my number one… if only they did have LED headlamps (a must) and if they didn’t have such questionable quality. But I just like the floor plan a lot. If the #1 choice had the same reclining sofa/bed setup #2, then it would be my choice as well. PS - you might want to add bookmarks to your next review like this and perhaps even a link to your original more detailed review for those who want more information.
Thank you for the compliment and the suggestions. I have added the timestamps in the description and I do have a 4 cards linked within the video which is all UA-cam allows. Thanks for watching!
thank you so much for this comparison video. I have been thinking about getting a class b and you did a wonderful job of listing all the possibilities. I also was really happy to see that your favorite was the one that I'm going to go look at later this week! thanks for a great video.
I am glad you found the video useful. I think that you will find that the Tiffin Cahaba is a really good choice but their prices vary significantly. Thanks for Watching!
Thanks for the video. It's obvious how hard you work on them. I haven't seen all the class b's, but Midwest/American Coach builds the most quality coach I've seen and a great company compared to most. As you said, everybody is different, especially in regards to floor plans. Getting off the subject a little. It's hard to beat the Oasi 540 that you did a review on for a short coach if the lack of 4x4 isn't a deal killer. ❤
I agree that Midwest / American coach builds an awesome quality RV. The only issue is that for some reason they seem to leave out some of the Mercedes platform options that I feel are needed. I was really impressed with the Oasi 540 as well. I am hoping to be able to see and tour the US model of the Oasi sometime this fall. Thanks for Watching!
@Ruby (aka Ryker Mom) I agree. I wish they would load up on all options. However, I wouldn't trade overall quality and floorplan for a cabin creature comfort🙂
Great job, you put all information in one place. Even the manufacturer's website doesn't have the details you did. If you can include the cargo carry capacity, that'll be even better. Me too; Tiffin Cahaba is my choice. Well, I can't accept that after I pay $200K and sweaty, I can't use AC due to the limitation of the battery, and I can't have a nice shower. I plan to live in an RV full time but don't plan to live like I am in poverty. I also plan to drive my RV as my primary vehicle. From Tiffin's website, Cahaba has a Volta charging system like Winnebago Travato. It means I can always use AC, and the underhood alternator will charge the battery banks within an hour.
Thanks for the review. You have a lot of great information. I believe you misstated the lithium battery power for the Jayco Entegra / Terrain. It has a 48 volt system not a 12 volt system. When you convert all the van systems to watt hours the Entegra has one of the MOST POWERFUL systems available. You do this by multiplying Volts x Amps = watt hours. With 48 volts x 210 amps = over 10,000 watt hours of power!!! vs. a 12 volt system with 210 amps = 2,500 watt hours. That's a huge difference. Thanks again for your videos. T.
First off, Thank you for the compliment and the input! I did list the amp hours correctly however you are correct that the Entegra has a 48V system not a 12 volt system and therefore has more watt hours. The guys at Winnebago need to step up their game. Thanks for Watching!
@@Adventure-Mom Winnebago offers 48V systems, in the Boldt and I think in some versions of the Travato (which is not on the Sprinter platform, of course). I think they intentionally left the Revel on a 12V system as this makes it easier to charge the house batteries with the 2nd alternator with the engine at idle speeds. a 48V system typically requires higher engine speeds for the alternator to provide enough juice. Also, a 12V system is way easier to work on, virtually every car mechanic has the tools and knowledge to fix it and this is exactly what you need if you want to take the van to some off-the-beaten-path places. So, a 48V is not automatically better than a 12V system. For some customers, a 12V system is what (Watt :-) ) they want
@@thechappie Yes, I did add a comment on the video that the Entegra has a 48v system which is significantly better than the Revel. That is one of the reasons it placed so high on my list. Thanks for Watching!
Great video with lots of information! Would love to see another video like this but for the promaster chassis. For myself and quite a few people I've talked to on the road, the Mercedes adventure vans are way too expensive and only rarely do people actually use the capabilities of the 4x4 (those in Alaska or actual hardcore adventurers that go further than just a dirt/gravel road).
Hello Becky, My understanding is that you will soon see many more manufacturers using the Ford platform and I'll be sure to tour them as they come. Thanks for Watching!
Ruby, it would be great if you could make a video showing the different sewage disposal systems on the various B vans. Since I am older, getting on my knees is not an option. Roadtrek has a macerator making it easy. On the other hand, Pleasure Way has a traditional gravity sewer which is located far under the edge of the van. So I have ruled that out. Some of the gravity sewers are close enough to the edge of outside van wall, that I could reach it without getting on my knees.
Your criteria is virtually the same as mine! Except I’m looking for a Fourseason van. Very few meet that last criteria the Winnebago Revel does but I’m not a fan of it. I’ve had to go to bigger van to have the capability to safely travel in very low temps. Such as the Coachman Galleria 24A or the Winnebago Boldt. Much bigger and heavier. And I must have four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive.
Hello Michelle, I am glad you found the video useful. I agree that finding a true 4 season B-class is a challenge. There are a couple smaller B-Vans like the Jayco Terrain or the Entegra Launch but they have the same layout as the Revel. Airstream, Pleasure way, Midwest all have really great quality control but I am not sure if they are 4-season. The Winnebago Ekko may be another option as well. Thanks for Watching and supporting my channel!
Hi Ruby, this was very helpful as my husband and I are (potential) first time RV buyers. Question on the Thor- I understand a generator is an option, otherwise we’d need to use the solar to run the AC to keep our dog and cat cool while we hike. We live in the Rockies and don’t go anywhere hot but I’d like some reassurance that the solar will allow us to run the AC so the fur kids are comfortable. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hello Laura, Glad you found the video useful! I purchased the Sanctuary with the generator as the Reliable Lithium system can only power the AC for a couple of hours and you can not run the AC off of solar alone. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching!
As much as I think I will use the camper for off road adventuring, I suspect that reality is we won’t venture off road much and then to the beach, so I would opt for the more comfortable layouts and amenities such as the the Airstream class B you reviewed.
Hello again, I will say that I have gone off road with my Sanctuary to places I would have never attempted in another RV. However, I am also always thinking about the weight, approach / departure angles, top heavy, and interior damage from all the bumps. It is definitely not for everyone. Thanks for watching!
Hola, Javier, me alegro mucho de que hayas disfrutado el video y lo hayas encontrado útil e informativo. Tomó mucho tiempo, investigación y organización armarlo. ¡Muchas gracias por mirar!
I'm looking for a vehicle for a solo travel that can survive in both the hottest weather in Sahara and the coldest weather in Siberia and even after being stuck at a remote place for several weeks because of snow or rain or whatever. So functionally matters most but living condition matters least. For layout I need maximum space for sleeping area, personal hygiene area, cooking area, and wardrobe but nothing else. I can use a passenger seat as my living room and dining room. I've been searching for a little while and so far Thor Tranquility or Thor Sanctuary appears to better fit my purpose. Do you have any suggestions?
The entegra launch has slightly lower 210amph vs the 250amph on revel? Yes, but it is 48v. So it is more than 10kwh of battery capacity. While the revel has only 3.2kwh.
I would think anyone buying one of these should consider the weight factor. Ours was professionally built by a van conversion business and upon looking it over prior to purchasing it, noticed a lot of weight. ( no more items than any you show). Bought it , tried one weekend of camping and decided to get it weighed. With very little of our own personal belongings it weighed it at 8700 lbs. max load of 9050lbs. Too close for my comfort. Too much weight on tires ( faster wear) too much weight on suspension,( sway in wind, unstableness). Took it and got one extra leaf on rear adding 1000lbs extra payload. While we would exceed 9050 ( especially carrying lots of water ( 32 gallons) we won’t exceed 10,500. Realizing these are YOUR wants, I’m calculating the time it takes to use the conveniences you require. Your shower I, guessing is a thirty minute venture, your powered lumbar seats is two- three minutes ( you get the picture). Less than 45 minutes out of your day to have all these amenities is fairly expensive. I think it takes me 15 seconds to adjust my non powered lumbar support. A vent in the bath is only required when taking longer than a 5 minute shower ( thus the reason it was not in that van.). Personally, I think your wants are excessive, but hey, they are yours! You are camping, and while you can take the Ritz -Carlton with you, it’s going to cost. The more gadgets you have the more often and costly your repairs will be. Lithium is the ONLY way to go. Our 300 amps of power with 400 amps of solar eliminates the need for any generator. But hey, you know what YOU like, so go for it. I’m just giving you something to think about.🙂
Hello Michael, I agree that weight is something people will want to consider. Yes, I do like have some comforts while camping and I prefer having a generator, but am warming up to lithium systems. Thanks for Watching!
@@Adventure-Mom your welcome. However, having battery power will give you the ability to camp/park anywhere thereby expanding your traveling experience! 😄. Lithium batteries are the way to go. No noise!!
I am glad you found the video useful. I did review some of the CCC and they were all very similar. However, some manufacturers have a lower tow rating which gives a lower tongue weight which in turn can influence the CCC. Thanks for Watching!
i could have used the 4wd last weekend when my Thor Tellaro got stuck in the sand- 3 times. You twice mention poor QC at Thor and I need to reiterate for anyone reading. Thor has terrible, terrible quality. My Tellaro just spent the last 5 months in the shop and I've only owned it six months. It rained last night and I found a roof vent leak- yet another problem.... Thor buyers- beware!
Sorry to hear about your Tellaro problems but you are correct that Thor needs to improve their QC. I now own a Sanctuary and have had a few issues as well but they were minor issues that I was able to repair myself instead of bringing it to the dealership as the dealerships around here are backed up well over 6 months. Thanks for Watching!
I agree that the diesel Mercedes 4x4 is one of the best platforms out there, you just have to figure out what are the things you need to have. Thanks for Watching!
It looks like Roadtrek SS Agile has 4x4 option. See ua-cam.com/video/7HnlJu0kOts/v-deo.html If it’s included in your review list, it might take the first place.😊
😂😂😂 I’m sorry but you lost all credibility by placing the STO last and placing the Thor so high. Just off of build quality alone it should be higher while the Thor should be lower. I get the bathroom layout can turn off a lot of people, but that shouldn’t be the reason to push it so far on your list based on your criteria. I wish this was more of an unbiased comparison.
Everyone has their own criteria on what is important to them in any RV. The StoryTeller placed lower because it does not meet my criteria but I agree that it seems very well built. Thanks for Watching!
I hate to tell you this but Tiffin in this case is probably the poorest build I have seen several of them with super shoddy work just dig a little here on UA-cam you will sadly see what I mean STORYTELLERS shoukd be in number one spot.just saying

Hello Slim, thank you for the feedback. I would like to do a comparison of non-adventure B-Class RVs as well. Maybe soon. Thanks for Watching!
Great video! 👍
I am glad you liked it and thanks for Watching!
Thank you very much for this video. I have been looking all around to decide which one to get and this review helped a lot!
I am so glad this video has helped you and Thanks for Watching!
Thank you for the video!

Well researched!
Hello Bull, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for watching!
Thanks for all your work..
Hello, you are very welcome! I hope you found the video useful. thank you so much for watching! 😊🌺
Would have loved to see Ford Transits. They are equal in many ways - style, floor plans and space and necessary features with power and pricing.
Hello Becky, My understanding is that you will soon see many more manufacturers using the Ford platform and I'll be sure to tour them as they come. Thanks for Watching!
Really like your videos, I think it would be helpful to highlight the cargo carrying weight capacity of the class b’s. It can vary greatly.
Thanks for the input, I will try to add that in on my next top 10 review. Thanks for Watching!
Well done!
Hello, I am so glad you found the video informative. Thank you so much for watching!
Great video! Thank you!
Thanks for the compliment and Thanks for Watching!
Yes you are correct and I have updated the conclusion slide to match. Thanks for the input and Thanks for Watching!
No noise!!
ЗДРАВСТВУЙТЕ РУБИ. СПАСИБО БОЛЬШОЕ!🙂👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹👏👏👏
HELLO RUBY. THANKS A LOT!🙂👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹👏👏👏
Hello Aleksandr, thank you for watching my videos!
Good Video,
Thanks for Watching!
Awesome 🎉
Hello Eric, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for watching! 🤗
Appreciate your research. Did you find any differences in the “cargo carrying capacity” in these models?
I am glad you found the video useful. I did review some of the CCC and they were all very similar. However, some manufacturers have a lower tow rating which gives a lower tongue weight which in turn can influence the CCC. Thanks for Watching!
Tiffin has all the extras so it gets my high marks. Just a bit pricey.
I agree, I really found the Tiffin to be a great choice! Thanks for Watching!
Nobody wants to make their bed every single night.
Shower and the bathroom at least 40 gallon. And off the grid with less side big window..
Hello Brandy, I agree that a 40 gallon fresh water tank would be perfect but I do like the big windows. Thanks for Watching and supporting my channel!
i could have used the 4wd last weekend when my Thor Tellaro got stuck in the sand- 3 times.
I would give the Jayco Terrain the #1 spot
Hello Marc, I agree that the Jayco Terrain is a great option especially if you need the garage space. Thanks for Watching!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for Watching!
Airstream Con: underneath generator not conducive to off road driving.
Hello Olsen, I agree that the location of the generator is not ideal but it still can go many places others can not. Thanks for watching!
I Got To Have One,,Must Be A Diesel
I agree that the diesel Mercedes 4x4 is one of the best platforms out there, you just have to figure out what are the things you need to have. Thanks for Watching!
It looks like Roadtrek SS Agile has 4x4 option. See ua-cam.com/video/7HnlJu0kOts/v-deo.html
If it’s included in your review list, it might take the first place.😊
She cute love here videos
Hello Robert, Thanks for the compliment and Thanks for watching!
The Thor sanctuary is junk have you seen all her reviews and videos of it falling apart literally
Hello Gregory, I have had some issues with my Sanctuary but unfortunately the RV industry struggles with Quality Control. Thanks for Watching!
I hate to tell you this but Tiffin in this case is probably the poorest build I have seen several of them with super shoddy work just dig a little here on UA-cam you will sadly see what I mean STORYTELLERS shoukd be in number one spot.just saying
Hello Briantrudy, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Thank you so much for watching!
