Durgod Venus 60% Mechanical Keyboard Review

- Опубліковано 30 вер 2024
- I recently contacted HK Gaming to ask them if I could get a Durgod Venus in for review, but little did I know, they already had one in the mail for me!
I've been testing this keyboard for a while, and I can finally say that it will replace my daily driver, the Anne Pro 2!

should've made it hot swappable 🤷
@Alejandro Fernandez-König When will this revision be released?
@Alejandro Fernandez-König so should I wait to get one or just grab one now?
Alejandro Fernandez-König There may be a 75 percent hotswap announced this month. That’s wha the hv said on twitter
I think hot swap will be bad, because those kailh - sockets are so fragile, and your better off making it hot swappable with mill max sockets yourself
Just desolder you lazy ass
play this in 1.25 speed its sooo much better
It makes such a difference. THANK YOU
This honestly looks like the best prebuilt 60% you can get.
Agreed, it's really nice! Really hard to beat for a prebuilt!
Best 60% prebuilt for sure !!
But it is not hot swappable
this or mecha mini?
rjjr eiej preference my dude
Man those stabs are perfect
Bro I just ordered my new durgod venus 60% keyboard hopefully its good! Thank you for the video btw it kinda helped me out!!
How is your durgod doing? Worth?
how is the board?
Captain J its pretty good the rgb lighting is great and also the keycaps are insane
NixEdits I ordered it and it’s coming Friday how has it been
I just ordered mine today... anyone whos had it for a while now got a review for me?
I’ll keep Anne pro 2 one Bc I customized it and Bc I use all 4 Bluetooth connections
Just sell it and get this
^
Can you tell me how to change the coulour please
BTW a lot of people that use this keyboard are reporting disconecting issues where it freezes
the kailh switches version is so expensive 😒 i had to get the Anne Pro 2 because it was so difficult to get Venus to Korea. Wonderful review though I enjoyed watching!
It would be an absolute killer if it had hotswap capabilities.
I feel that hotswap is kind of a gimmick
@@jjizzler9592 not when you have very specific switch tastes (like me)
@@backshots In this case the venus actually has great stock switches and many to choose from
@@jjizzler9592 i think they meant having different switches on different keys
personally, blacks on stabilizer keys, a few silent red and silvers here and there, and yellows on everything else
but they are more convenience than keyfeel contributing feature, pretty great for people without a soldering station
anne pro 2 is a cheap toy compared to this board, the only thing it has on it is the bluetooth which is useless to me. This is on par with a kbdfans tofu built by somebody who knows what they are doing. People in the comments are clueless.
I mostly agree with you, better than the Anne Pro 2 in many ways, while I still enjoy my Anne Pro 2s a lot :D
@@minimalistik dont get me wrong, i have one too since its release. I don't hate the keyboard. But this one is definitely superior in every way. Try the gateron silent browns, they are amazing.
@@Cichlid_Visuals you simped him hard. You talk shit about the ap2 but when the video creator says he likes it you say you like it. Looool
Lol have fun with all the freezing issues with the Venus.
No Bluetooth, meh. Better quality but not by double the price
There's a ~$30 difference for same brand of switches between the Anne Pro 2 and this Durgod Venus. The Anne Pro 2 is on sale more often as it's been out for 2 years, but the retail price is not close to 2x the price at all.
@@minimalistik Except the cherry switches are literally the worst switches Anne Pro 2 comes with. Any other option - gateron or kailh box are a better choice in every aspect. The price of AP2 with better switches sits around 70$ vs 120 of this Durgod (not saying its not worth it but it doesn't have the bluetooth and stabs aren't by far better than AP2).
Paweł Nowak The stabilizers are a lot better.
Bluetooth is essential for me. Got a couple of machines and need to be able to use one mouse and keyboard and switch easily.
Can you review the GK61S with bluetooth and hot swappable functionality?
durgod hades and venus is one of the best prebuilt boards out. aluminum case with best stabs and so many switch choices such as box jades and gateron yellows. highly recommend. great review.
Thanks! The quality is indeed very nice! :)
Yo I need help! I’m playing the game “control” and it requires me to use the arrow keys but I don’t have any. I also have the Durgod Venus and I can’t figure out which Command gives the arrow keys. Please help, thanks
Those browns sound scratchy as hell. Cherry switches aren't bad by any means, just horribly mediocre.
this keyboard better when anne pro 2, because costs 150% more..........................
I have a similar one but the brand is kemove they make good keyboards and I have yellow switches
it’s not available in white still because of COVID ):
That's the old Anne Pro 2... The video is funnier if you speed up the playback.
Where would I find the software to change the colors?
KEMOVE 61 vs this Keyboard??
Can someone help me on why it turns on but none of the letters type or anything
I have this keyboard with white box switches. Quality is amazing and is way better then Anne pro and ducky mini even though it lacks Bluetooth!
Yeah, main missing feature is bluetooth, but otherwise, it's a really nice keyboard! :D
Noooooo anne pro 2 is whay better
Way*
@@hyd3ro_fn866 why
Nah for $60 more currently than Anne Pro 2, I’ll pass!
The Gateron version is $100. Where can you get an Anne Pro 2 for $40?
Although I'm not a fan of 60% keyboards, I am a fan of Durgod keyboards. Their quality is outstanding! Nice review.
Thanks! The quality is indeed really nice!
IMHO AP2 is better in price/quality. You can easily order it on Ali/baggood for 55-65$ on Gateron red, brown, black. IMHO they’re smoother than cherry!
Durgod has way better build, more switch option including Gateron, better stabilizers, and way better typing experience. But yeah, if you want cheap, than AP2 is the way to go.
im a fan of light linear switches and the durgod doesnt have that otherwise I'd prob spend more money on the durgod
If this keyboard were also available in ISO layout, I would buy it immediately
Yeah! The only 60% choices we have are from Ducky.
ur weird
StevenPlayz Why is he weird
@@LEK stfu
StevenPlayz ?
Just a question, can you put everglide oreo's in a GK61S keyboard kit (the one without the switches and keycaps?
Can't wait for you to modify this one!
But the Anne Pro 2 comes in white
I've been told the venus should have a white version in March or something! :)
Michael Dooby, All I can say is this board is incredibly easy to spray paint.
The Ann Pro has shit RGB
Burger muscle Yes it is a pain
Why you want to use it instead of anne ? wtf ? This keyboard overall is quite ok, BUT Durgod software is not as good and it is not wireless so anne pro 2 still wins :) I woud recommend to continue using anne pro 2
dombrox while the keyboard isn’t wireless and software may not be great, it still has more advantages then the Anne pro 2 suchas having different varieties of switches, aluminum case, dampening foam in the keyboard, etc. Durgod Venus is clearly better then the Anne pro 2
@@OverJayYT If you are into customs, it isn;'t that significant while anne pro 2 holds its unique features (wireless) and its software is similar to best keyboard softwares: qmk and VIA software
KryptoDaddy the Anne pro 2 has Kailh, Gateron and Cherry switches
It provides a better typing experience, sounds better, better build quality, better keycaps, etc.
True, it doesn't have wireless and the software isn't as great, but I don't use my Anne Pros wirelessly anyway and I barely use the software too.
For my usage, the Durgod venus is a better option, while still being cheaper than an equivalent custom build.
dombrox i don’t know what your talking about... the chassis is a lot nicer and the stabilization is better. There are a lot of factors that go into the typing experience of a keyboard not just switches
My experience: I bought the Hades68 directly from the HK Gaming website, in 2 hours a whole column of keys stopped working. The RGB stopped working completely and the space bar did too. For almost 1 month I have been waiting for an answer to the emails I have sent, both to the support of Durgod and HK Gaming. Truly the worst technology buying experience I have had by far. I don't recommend HK Gaming or Durgod to even my worst enemy. Maybe someone will use this experience.
"High end" my ass
Dang I just bought my ANNE PRO 2 a few days ago to go with my white G305 wish I would have saw this video a week ago
hi how does this compare to the ducky one 2 mecha? especially on sound and stabelizers.
Better stabilizers and generally a lower pitch sound, obviously heavily dependent on switches.
@@dasprii7703 i like the prospect of pre lubed better stabs but the ducky mecha looks better imo.
@@Boemtie I agree on that aspect, I most certainly don't regret buying my Venus though. RandomFrankP has a comparison video between the two which you may find to be helpful. Both are excellent keyboards, and honestly I kind of miss the on-board customization that ducky has. That's the only thing I miss though.
I would buy it if it was available in Silent Reds and wireless
There is a cherry silent red option, but no wireless. But I noticed that silent red option can often be out of stock
def top tier in the 60% pre builts
$30 more expensive than the Anne Pro 2? I'll stick with the Anne Pro, thanks.
Haha me too. The fact that I got my anne pro 2 (gateron reds) for only 40 bucks.
Mowcowbell The lighting is worst on Anne pro, and the cable is more shit. I just returned my ap2 for this
@@cjbebop I got my anne pro 2 gat browns for $59 exactly
Mowcowbell this ones a lot better than the ap2 though
@@katherine-oh3rt I need Bluetooth though, so no choice besides ap2, plus with the new firmware it rlly good.
when this mans teeth are whiter then anybody's that's a vibe
Those 3 led lights at the top right just looks bad imo
Mines arriving tomorrow! Can't wait!
which switches should i choose if i want fast and quiet ones? Thanks to anyone who helps :)
Cherry Black
Cherry Blue
Cherry Brown
Cherry Red
Cherry Silent Red
Cherry Speed Silver
Gateron Blue
Gateron Brown
Gateron Red
Gateron Silent Brown
Gateron Yellow
Kailh Box Jade
Kailh Box Red
Cherry silent reds would be the best in my option :)
I don't see how it beats the Anne Pro 2
@Ella Smith ooh burn
I am looking for a keyboard that has an option to customize by third parties, which is better for that the anne pro 2 or this keyboard? If you have any other option please tell me, thanks
How customisable is this via the software? Like... could I change '2/@' to '2/"', '3/#' to '3/£' and '4/$' to '4/$/€' etc..., basically UK ISO layout but with an ANSI enter?
:)
:D
is this keyboard good for gaming also instead of just typing
Why do a lot of these youtubers talk the same way where they end their sentence on a high note. Like a basic LA girl
American accent lol

Does it have the freezing issue like Amazon reviews say?
lets hope not...
I am having trouble deciding whether I should keep my AP2 with Gat Reds or return it and purchase the Venus with Gat reds. I love all the features the Venus provides, but I also really love the AP2. I am also nervous on how the Venus will sound. I like a more louder tone when bottoming out, not a soft high pitch like the mecha mini has. What would anyone recommend?
Late reply but I returned my Venus for a AP2. The Venus is ass, stay away
sooo, no linux support?
will the gateron red switches ever be back in stock on amazon? lol
Gateron yellow is better
i live in canada montreal and it's not available in canada
HK Gaming on Amazon.ca?
HK Gaming and when will the Kailh Box Black be available?
HK Gaming I see most of the switch types are available now on Amazon.ca, but Cherry Black is still not. Any ETA?
HK Gaming Gotcha, thanks so much!
HK Gaming Ended up going with the Kailh Box Red version on Amazon.ca after doing some research. I’ve tried all the Cherry switches except black so that’s why I had initially thought of those switches. Sounds like Kailh has really made a great set of switches though, super excited! Thanks!
Can you do a custom build
Durgod Venus of Ducky Mecha Mini V2?
@@nuttowel8202 Thanks, but after reading a ton of reviews, saying the build quality is great but too many boards are freezing up, I decided to get the Ducky Mecha Mini v2.
Great board, solid and quiet (Cherry Silent Reds)
Perhaps one day if Durgod fixes these issues, I will get one.
Durgod HK or RK61 or DK63 ??????
I'm sorry but no hot swap switches is a no go for me!!
Any issues with freezing ? I just bought one, but I’ve seen people complaining about freezing.
Update on the freezing?
Any freezing?
Any freezing issues with your unit?
U get any freezing?
annnnnnd still nothing so far for the uk :(
on twitter they said that uk layout is gonna be released after the corona
aluminium? ok this is the keyboard am getting !!!
actually not.. its not wireless
CONTEMN why do you need a wireless?
@@CONTEMNTheOfficial bruh don't get wireless keyboard why would you need it for? You're gonna game 10m away from your monitor?
Great video, but I prefer the 65% layout with the dedicated arrow keys. I myself have the Durgod Hades 68 (65% keyboard) with stock PBT keycaps (they updated to PBT now, previously was ABS) and with Gateron Brown Switches. I have tried Gateron Silent Brown and Cherry MX Brown on this board, and found the Gateron Brown switches to be the most satisfying typing and gaming experience out of those, due to its smoothness over the Cherry Browns and the satisfying "clack" feel vs the "mushy" silent browns.
I have apex 7 red, shold i buy durgod hades gateron brown?
Does tap functionality for arrow keys work while holding left shift?? Or has anyone been able to do this for Anne pro 2??
No it doesn't work per default in the tap mode, but it is possible to change the bottom right keys to act as real arrow keys which allows for shift functionality in the AP2. This can be done by changing caps lock to work as the FN key. I wonder if the same is possible with this Durgod?
@@deusern but then I have to hold fn plus left shift and then arrow keys. Currently I am doing the way you mention but using I, J, K, L which is quite conformatable. But if there were a way of having tap functionality while holding left shift that would be amazing!
@@MetalBatros91 no you don't. left shift + arrow works fine after a software modification that changes the layer. You can map any key to where you want it. It's just that you lose the bottom right keys, out of which FN is the only one with some importance personally, which is replaced in the caps lock key. Here's an example, but mine is mapped differently imgur.com/Tkup74V
@@deusern I totally get what you mean now. But I don't wanna lose right shift cause I need it for fast typing.
That's why ideally for me I could configure the arrow keys on the bottom right corner on the TAP layer, AND they would still work while holding left shift. But if you hold left shift you lose tap functionality. Hope I explained myself.
At the min I'm quite happy with caps lock as fn and using I, J, K, L as arrow keys. I even miss it when using my laptop or any other keyboards 😅😅😅
I've been window shopping for my first mech and this one is very high, if not top of the list for me.
Unless, someone can recommend a 60% or 65% with:
-hot swap,
-Bluetooth and/or wireless dongle
-aluminum build
-detachable USB C
-RGB
I would also consider a TKL if it hit all the above marks! I'm not sure if there is an obvious choice because I'm relatively new to the mech scene
You don't want Bluetooth
You don't need hotswap
I have 2 desktops and a pixelbook I rotate between, I think the Bluetooth would help facilitate one keyboard and multiple workstations
The hot swap request is derived from my not ever owning any mech keyboards, I would like to eventually try other switches without buying a new board
@@NicholasNunez check out the massdrop

@@jjizzler9592 appreciate you; will do
Not worth the price. I get you need to make that sweet affiliate cash, but this just isn't for me :)
This is not really an argument, I could make affiliate money by recommending another option instead.
I truly believe it's an amazing keyboard for the price. If I were to buy one, I'd go for the $99 Gateron brown variant
I get it, buddy, attacking the income is personal
@@konataizumi5829 dude be nice.

Looks really nice, but I really do not like that forehead, I really like how Anne pro is just as thin on the forehead as on the chin.
This keyboard has everything I want, aside from layout. I think deserves to be a bestseller. Can't live without arrow keys though, so I am waiting for them to update the hades up to this level, then it will definitely replace my One 2 SF. Also I wish they offered gateron silent red, not just browns.
@@Dubufy I've never tried lubing switches, but I've seen videos on how to do it without desoldering
65% and qmk ..please..dealbreakers
Looks great, but with no BT, not an AP2 replacement!
I don't use the wireless feature of my Anne Pro 2s, so for my usage, it is a good replacement.
I use it at work and need a reliable connection, so wired is better suited for my usage.
@@minimalistik no realy uses Bluetooth, it's not compact and mostly you would just keep it wired to your pc

So impressed with HK gaming since I've been aware of them. An ISO Hades is basically my end game keyboard.
ngl at this price id rather pay out the extra for a ducky one 2 mini or mecha mini
but thats just me others will have their opinions and preferences
I love this keyboard, was looking at the huntsman te before, but this one is amazing, main reason im buying this is because of the wide switch selection

What are the best switches to get? My friend told me speed silver is what he would get if he were me. I also heard cherry something was good too. This keyboard doesn’t have speed silver on the website linked either so that might put a kink in the plan
