Loved the classic FPS titles growing up with this, Doom, Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, Rise of the Triad, you name it! The morning of the day before writing this comment I unlocked all of Dark Forces Remaster's achievements making it my newest Perfect Game on Steam out of my 38 Perfect Games that I rock on Steam as of the moment of writing this comment goes. It is another plus that I'm a big Star Wars fan too! Nice video btw.
Great job with this review! I did think the price was a little high at first, but they did do a lot of work to be as close to the original as possible while playing well on modern systems, I ended up making the purchase and I do not regret it. I'm hoping they will decide to do the rest of the dark forces games too!
Nightdive does a pretty good job on most of the remakes. An honestly. You can only do so much with a remake. I’d love to see the other series on a different engine true to the series. The jump from 1 to 2 was mind blowing with the voodoo2 card running it
For a long time, the only way you could play this game was on PC, with a bunch of mods included, or the PS1 version through backwards compatibility on the PS2 and PS3, so yeah, I think it's worth it to be able to play this game on modern consoles with improved graphics and gameplay

been having a blast revisiting this series. currently halfway through dark forces 2. never had a chance to play it because it was stuck on older computers. Its amazing! I played dark forces using the force engine source port and it was a ton of fun too. ill probably get the remaster when its not as much as a new released game lol.
That’s more than fair. And dark forces 2 was so good with the lightsabers and the third person view. And I remember being blown away buy the graphical jump on that release! “Graphics can’t get any better “

I have a lot of fun showing my son games I played when I was his age and telling him how mind blowing the n64 was when it came out. heck, dark forces looked amazing when star fox snes was the pinnacle of realism to me lol. Indiana jones and the infernal machine is another incredible early 3d game by lucasarts. One of my all time favorites
i find its worth it, ill pay for the nostaliga hit, and if people keep buying them, theyll keep making them.. it sucks buying them again, but no ones being forced.
It's a niche remaster that might sell a couple ten thousand copies. Nightdive has to recover their costs on a very limited quantity of sales. I paid $30. It's absolutely worth it to me to be able to go back to this game after almost 30 years and play it just like I remembered it at higher resolution and modern controls. They did a great job of preserving the original look and feel of the game. I'd rather pay $30 for a quality remaster, than have no studio pick up the project at all. I hate when people whine about the price of these kinds of projects. They are hard enough for a studio to justify in the first place considering how small the audience is going to be.
