Nice upgrade. I wish I had a truck to install it on. Mine was built back in 05/30 and since it is waiting on convoy carrier. The latest update is 07/25-07/30. It is ridiculous that they can't find trucks to deliver the vehicles that I pay $1695 for destination fee. Detroit is less than 300 miles from me.
Most frustrating part of the whole experience. I know everyone that I talk to would prefer to just drive/fly up and pick it up from Dearborn. I can see why that would never happen, after going through the whole dealer/pickup process myself.
You mentioned the next oil change will be a breeze by just putting on a hose and draining straight into the pan. To make it even breezier, perhaps out the hose straight into an empty 5qt bottle. Obviously for the F150 you’ll need another bottle after the first is full, but that’s as simple as cycling the valve between bottle changes. Then you don’t have a pan to clean up when you’re done.
Jeffrey you are 100% on the money, and I think about this every time AFTER I've finished the job. The trouble is that I keep recycling the oil containers and don't have any spares around. I used to have a 10Q Delvac jug that was perfect for this sort of thing. cheers
Ford on the f150 5.0 didn't even try!! the plastic drain plug faces the rear, directly level with a crossbar. 8.8 qts of hot oil comes out full force, hit the bar, sprays every direction but the drain pan. this plug, greatest upgrade any f150 owner can do.
Great idea. Would there be a problem with running a metal hose with that valve at the end so you can route it so you wouldn’t have to remove the splash pan?
Well, as long as you can get access to the valve, which the current "felt diaper" would prevent you from accessing. Check out my other video where I replaced the felt diaper with a Talon's Garage cat protector which has a small access hole for doing exactly what you suggest. No need to remove the entire pan to change oil. cheers
These are a pair of steel garage sale ramps that I picked up eons ago. I might be picking up a set of plastic Harbor Freight ramps as I need some at my house. If I use those, I'll probably roll an old wooden oak tree stump next to me just in case!
I have the Talon's Garage skid plate/cat protector plate, and I can get to it through the access door that they include. I'm assuming that you're not talking about the OEM felt diaper? cheers
Those valves aren’t the best idea. A stahlbus valve is ALOT nicer. It actually flows and doesn’t look like a cancerous growth on the pan like those stupid fumoto valves.
Lol you're concerned about how a oil drain plug looks 😂 Dude you ain't gonna see it but for 5 mins when you do an oil change. And Fumoto is proven quality, never heard of what you mentioned.
As before, great walkthrough and videography. Top notch!

Thanks for the video. Which ramps are you using for your f-150?

Wonder if there is a version with braided line from the pan to a valve, to keep you from having to drop skid plates??

How many oil changes have you done using this valve installed?

HI, I THOUGHT ALL F150 HAVE A PLASTIC OIL PAN NOT METAL? JOHN
Hi John to my knowledge, the 2.7L engine has a plastic oil pan. Definitely NOT the 3.5L that I own.

Thanks...never heard of these and looks like a good alternative.
Nice but not available for a F150.
@@matthewbaynard idk the year but look at femco. Same idea, still better than a garbage fumoto.
