Neat idea. Personally for myself I would prefer a flip-stop instead of a fixed stop. A flip-stop provides the ability to use multiple stops for repeated cuts of multiple sizes. When I used a Festool MFT/3 I used 4 or 5 of the Festool flip-stops for batching out upper and lower carcasses. Being able to flip the stop out of the way without needing to move it helped save the measurement location. Additionally, a longer fence, for myself, would fit my needs. 600mm is not long enough for me. Hopefully this system will continue to evolve over time as users provide you feedback. Looks like it has a lot of potential. 👍

Peter, I bought a pair of your new UJK Parf Fences the moment I saw them in your introductory video. As usual, Axminster was absolutely brilliant in their packaging and delivery and I received them within a few days. I found a really handy use for my second stop (2 fences) when making repetitive cuts. I mark my timber at the desired cut point and push it against the fence and align it to the Festool splinter guard (standard stuff). Then I slide the first Parf stop against the back of the piece and lock it down, securing that length for the next cut or series of cuts (again, this is as expected). However, I then position my second Parf stop precisely against the back of the first stop and lock it down. Then I remove the first stop and slide my timber down until it encounters the second stop. I make my first cut, this one slightly longer than needed but guaranteeing that the end is absolutely 90° to my fence face. Then, I switch the piece end for end, not round, and prepare to make my final cut. All I have to do to get the piece both absolutely square and properly sized is to drop the first stop back into its original place on the fence, touching stop 2, and slide the timber against it (actually both). The second stop hasn't been moved so the final cut will be exactly as initially measured. Of course, if I'm doing a number of identical cuts, I'll make all "long" cuts first, then flip all boards end for end, drop back in the initial stop, and make all "final" cuts. No measuring, no errors, both ends absolutely 90° to the fence. Thank you for another brilliant product.
I'm finally buying this soon. I've been using the Benchdog uk fence and i despise it. One turn too much and the nuts fall out, plus really hard to read the measurements and you need to take a bit off the end. Wish i had done more research. I'm selling it with the guide square and coming back to your designs. I love that you partnered with Axminster because they are such a cool company and really know how to treat people. Hi Peter, great video as always. I only yesterday purchased my first UJK product, the parf guide system and I'm looking forward to making my first MFT bench with it. Congratulations on designing a great product. I wondered if you could recommend any more UJK products to me? I plan on having my mitre saw inserted into the bench so the table of the saw is flush with the bench. Can I use these bars on both sides of the saw or is there another more appropriate product? Hi Dan, Good to hear from you again. UJK represents the highest quality tools made and sold by Axminster. They are constantly reviewing the range, improving and creating new items. For both my Ultimate Tracksaw Cutting Station and my Kapex mitre station I now use the UJK Fence and Length stop (product code 107068) as they fit onto the bench with 20 mm dogs and can be removed then replaced without the need to re-calibrate. They are not cheap but worth every penny for accurate setup and repeat work. When it comes to dogs I would always use the UJK range as they are all made on the same machines, to the same tollerences as the Parf Guide System and are therefore "one family" of products. Just do a search on my channel or UA-cam as a whole for UJK for other ideas. Cheers. Peter

Please consider returning to the original version with all-round holes. I was about to spring for 2 of these, but the new oval holes that allow for 45-degree placement, are introducing slop to the fence, according to reviewers.
How would you cut an 8x4 sheet of hardwood ply on this table? I guess you would mark the top out and decide what rough sizes are first required and then use a circular saw perhaps. Also with a sheet of ply, would you cut a clean edge first and work of of that. The clean edge being the ref side? I'm not a woodworker, but purchased the park guide system. and rails. The new slotted rails.
Hi David, I often have to break down a full 8x4 sheet and make the decision of my first cut depending on the eventual sizes of the pieces coming from the sheet. I try to do the first cut to make the sheet (or two pieces) easier to handle. I do like to create a clean reference edge at an early stage. The first cut or two may have to be done without the benefit of the dogs and PGS created holes but that does not matter as the smaller pieces can be cut accurately once the roughed out pieces are small enough. I just received mine from Axminster and rail clips from TSO. Regarding those Rail Clips; what part of the rail clip slides in first; the tall side or low side or does it matter.
Suggestion. A bit fiddly to remove the fence once fastened down, wiggling fingers under it etc. Could there be a hook on the blank end of the stop [opposite the bristol handle]? This could then be inserted into a corresponding hole in the dog [a bit like a key into a lock], turned say a quarter turn to lock it and then the dog could be pulled up and the hook then disengaged from it. . The hook would never be lost as it forms part of the stop. Just a suggestion.
Excellent! Consider adding a flag stop to the regular stop. Wouldn’t affect price much but would then allow 2 settings to be held - possibly for drawer parts or other repetitive cuttings.
Really like your videos they have inspired me to take up woodworking as a hobby also partly the Parfguide system as I can easily cut panels at 90 degrees and so much more. I have invested in most of the Parf guide systems when I used to have a makita track saw but I decide to upgrade to a Bosch track saw, which is miles more Better than the makita. Especially the tracks. I know that the Parf dogs were made to work with the festool type track but with the Bosch tracks the saw hangs over so it hits the dogs. I know I could offset the holes so them move out further but that would mean a bigger top which I don’t have space for. I can get something like the rail dogs from bench dog uk but found out that they are just slight too big for the Parf holes, apparently there a different sizes. I know there could be other ways to use it but the simplicity of the way the dogs works with the festool trac is what makes the system so usable. Is there any ideas or products in the works with ukj that will work with the Bosch/mafell tracks, the other stuff on the market just can’t match the quality and feel of the ukj dog. If a product was in the works it would make the system even more complete

Hi Peter, I have one of these in purdah until my birthday next month. I was thinking, for those like me with a smaller bench, a 40mm wide dog or two would be a great extra, unfortunately the dog stop collars are 38mm wide so cannot be used. The back stop is only 30mm wide, there needs to be more co-ordination with this product range.
Peter, Is it possible to use this your fence to make 45, 30, & 60 cuts on a standard MFT Work Top? It would seem that if the hole spacing was laid out properly on this fence it would be possible to do so.
@@NewBritWorkshop Thanks Peter, I realize that your fence (in its current configuration) is not capable of doing angles. Rather I was putting an idea out there... I'm wondering if there would be a way to make the plate with a pivot point at one end and then an array of holes laid out farther down the plate (without getting too wide) that would create a fence capable of being set at many common angles. I see that another UK company has made a design update to their rail square so it is capable of being mounted it at these three common angles by installing a second adaptor pin in different threaded holes in their plate. It sounds like a good concept, but it would create multiple angled score marks across the table top. I would rather keep the guide rail in the same position (thus one common score line) and find away to rotate the fence with a standard MFT hole layout (I realize another option is laying out angled rows in my work top like you did in your cutting station video).

Hi Dave, Some of the holes are elongated to take account of bench tops made on CNCs or less accurately than the PGS. This has been a particular problem with MFT3 tops. Peter

Peter. Having received my (2) Parf Fences I have one thing to ask... could you please consider one additional item... another Parf Fence but only 1/3 length of the existing. I am using (1) on each side of the track and it leaves me with a long side of my bench not long enough for a 3rd Parf Fence. I would like to have the fence the full length of my bench and it would be perfect.

Looks nice and all but won't that design allow for sawdust etc to be collected along the rails thus preventing workpieces from aligning properly along with the fences?
Hi Eric, Any fence may have this issue and it is good woodworking practice to brush away dust that collects. Generally the stock being cut should stop most of the sawdust from collecting against the fence. Peter
Excellent, this looks to be precisely what I need. Can this be used in conjunction with the Super Dogs in the 25mm mid bush configuration to elevate the fence off the table? I tend to use spoil boards or table protectors on my MFT which may exceed the 10mm fence height. I just can't bring myself to cut into a £500 table...
You can use Parf Guide Dogs up the wrong way and they will go through the fence and your sacrificial top into the bench below. The fact that the chamfer will not engage is not a big deal but the adjustable stop will collide with anything sticking above the surface of the fence. This is not a real problem as you can move the offending dog to another hole if the sliding stop needs to be in a certain place. The Parf Guide System is designed to remove the anxiety of cutting into a bench top as you can then produce a new one any time you like - that is what I do. Peter
Hi Peter, how come you haven't invented a miter gauge and fence system with a couple of dogs attached via a 't' track on the bottom? I know Festool has one to fit on a rail but to have one that simply drops into a couple of dog holes would be super don't you think. People building their own tops with your great Parf guide don't have the rails on the side to accommodate the Festool one.
Another good idea Peter, I might get one of these. It certainly beats the plywood offcuts I normally use for the same purpose. I can see that two will be ideal, I would suggest a half length one might be a good idea too. Ollie

Peter, I get the omission of a ruler, but I think a toothed edge to locate the stop would be a great idea. This edge and the stop could mesh together. The purpose of this would be to establish repeatable setups without measuring. Think INCRA. They do this sort of thing. Yes, it adds complexity and cost. I appreciate your constant effort to keep costs down. This is just something to think about.

Hi Peter, thanks for the video. Why was the fence made in 10mm aluminium? It seems to me that rules out cutting any stock under 10mm without bowing the guide rail slightly. It's a interest product which I can see I would use but I would have to continue using my own thinner stock mdf fence for thin stock. Cheers, G.
Hi Graham, I think Axminster did some survey work of some sort and most people were cutting thicker than 10 mm. It is easy to cut less by putting a spacer under the guide rail or piece being cut. Cheers. Peter
A 600 and a 400 would be an ideal pairing rather than two 600s with one overhanging the edge of the MFT - would be better for people who have standard size workbenches or those who don't want to make a new custom one right away. Still probably going to end up getting two anyway because they'll be extremely useful, but if a 400mm version comes out in the future that would be great!
Peter, as a newcomer to your PARF system, would you please explain to me why 96mm are used as centers between the 20mm holes. I use my cutting line as a reference point to spacing my dogholes dependant upon the width of cutting track used.
Hi George, It is all to do with Euro standard fittings which have 32 mm, 48 mm and 96 mm as a base or multiple. It is useful as 96 is divisible by so many other numbers. Peter

Hi Jason, If the Parf Fence is on your bench like mine then the tall dog nearest the user can be moved in order to do a 45 degree cut. The fence has to go either along a row or a column but not at any other angle. Peter
I like the fence. One thing I have noticed about the UJK Rail Clips is that when you have a MFT table with holes on the entire table, the Kerf line is on the holes. Someone should invent a Dog that is wider on top so it pushes the rail out further so the Kef line is in between the holes.

Hi Jeff, For a cutting station I would like to have a surface just under the full size of a sheet of MDF. However, having moved and with a smaller workshop my cutting station is approximately 1800 mm x 1100 mm. There is no "ideal" size only what is best for the user. With care, the accuracy of a top created with the Parf Guide System is perfectly good up to a full sheet size. Ron Paulk has recently made one that is quite large and it is spot on. Cheers. Peter

Is the Parf Guide Mk II compatible with the Parf Fence? Instead of using two Parf Fences, can I use my Parf Guide Mk II along with a Parf Fence, will they line up perfectly?
Hi Timothy, There is no reason not to try this as the 96 mm spacing is universal but you will need to use the locator dogs that came with the PGS to set the guide. Good luck. Peter
Be advised that this product does *not* fit Festool MFT3 tops; Peter was in error when he said so on this video and has said so on other forums. If you read the Axminster copy carefully you will find they indicate that it is only guaranteed to fit tops made with the UJK Parf Guide setup. It is a great design and nicely made but it may not fit the Festool tops due to tolerance stackups that may allow the holes in the top to be slightly misaligned to the holes in the fence, making it impossible to install the dogs.

Let me start off by saying how brilliant I think the entire UJK park system is! Bought all the UJK parf gizmos so now have the entire UJK Kit. Unfortunately used the system for the first time and I could not understand why I was getting some discrepancies. My cutting table was laid out perfectly. Today, I thought I would check the accuracy of the UJK Part Fence. They are not flat. If I place a straight edge along the sides I can see that they are warped. When I place the straight edge along the side of the UJK Parf Fence I can rock the straight edge, as it is supported only in the centre leaving gaps on either side. What a pity, such a wonderful design. I took photos but it appears, I cannot upload photos to this board.

Hi Eugenio, The 600 mm length was chosen as the optimum cost/value for money. Our thoughts are that anyone wanting a longer fence would use a second one which is actually cheaper than the cost of machining a 1200 mm long one. Cheers. Peter

A nice idea and looks like a good quality product, but at 70 quid that seems very steep as some aluminium extrusion and some Bench Dogs are a fair bit cheaper.
Yes, but this very effectively replaces the need for a larger table saw, at least for making repeat cuts on large sheet goods. As someone with a small shop and budget, I think it's a worthwhile system. Now... Just gotta get around to making my MFT top!

Hi Craig, I said in an earlier post that it is just 90 degrees but I was WRONG !! Place the Parf Fence in the normal way but move the tall dog nearest to the operator to a hole that is at 45 degrees to the tall dog near the fence. Hence a 45 degree cut is possible. Peter

Hi Stephen, The current one is 1620 mm x 1020 mm. I find it a very good size as one can cut a full sheet (not with dogs) at the start of the break-down process. Peter
The exchanges below raise a good point about the usefulness of the Veritas planing stops for this purpose, with the advantage of their utility for thinner stock (and perhaps disadvantage for thicker stock, though I don't know why that would be). I have found the long Veritas planing stop to be dead accurate on my MFT. (Minimally smaller diameter dogs do not introduce inaccuracy as long as both dogs are the same diameter). So Peter, how about a 4 or 5 cut test to compare the accuracy of the two approaches; it would be good to know if you find the Veritas planing stops as useful with the Parf products as I do.
@@NewBritWorkshop I will do that and report back. Given that any fence can only be as good as the holes in the table, it would be best if we compared the parf fence and the planing stop on the same table. I don't (yet) have a parf fence and you don't have a planing stop, so our testing will have some limitations. So there is something to compare the planing stop to, I will also do a 5-cut test on the same table with my Veritas small parf dogs as the control. I will use my Veritas large parf dogs for the guide rail. I recently got a new MFT top so at least that should be consistent between the devices. If you have other suggestions I will try to incorporate them.
I was debating whether to get this fence vs the Benchdog version but finally brought 2 set of this because I can use this fence as bench stop also. But to my horror when I receive the product few days back it was so badly machined with lots of horrible milling mark on the fence. So bad that the sliding block cannot slide smoothly on the fence. But I have a urgent small project to finish so decided not to return the product and just try to use some sanding paper on glass to lapp it. Took me 2hrs and still not perfectly smooth. Should have just get the Benchdog version or just use some 20x20 Alu extrusion instead. One design problem is when u try to adjust the sliding block the whole block will just comes of the fence if u try to do it single handed. U always need to press the block with one hand and loosen the screw with the other hand and carefully move it. The original MFT fence and Benchdog ver should not have this problem.
@@NewBritWorkshop I have already contacted them before my post with photo proof, they said I sanded the fence and no exchange. I stayed 10k km from UK and DHL took 5-6 days 1 way to me and I needed the fence to finish one small project. So figured not worth the time, money and effort to send back. Expected they will say no exchange before I sanded the fence anyway. But paying for premium UJK product I never have expect such problem in the first place. And its 2 out of 2 bad fence in the same shipment.
Looks great. I like the right angle setup for small lamination glue-ups. Use the pgs to create some holes on a melamine top. Shove the panels into the corner of the fences and use wedges or other clamps to press against the perfect right angle. Chuck a weight on top if required.
I wish you luck with the newest Parf product, but I can't help but ask why it costs almost three times as much as a 450mm veritas planing stop, which (bar the stop for repeat cuts) would appear to give very similar functionality? 🤔 Come on Peter, point out what I have no doubt missed.
The Veritas planning stops (Which I have in short and 450mm lengths) won't allow for precise alignment - their dogs are slightly smaller than the holes, and there is an O-ring between the dogs and the aluminium bar. Now, before Peter invented this contraption, I've made something similar with good quality MDF, short dogs or anchor dogs (and the Parf drilling system)… In its most basic form, this has the additional advantage of working with even thinner stock, or to make stops which match the stock to be worked on, and to allow 45 degree cuts (with a long stop for instance)… With some creativity one can easily add stops (or -better- flip stops).
Thanks both, that makes sense, Given the Veritas planing stop is sold in 19mm and 20mm versions I had assumed they would be a good fit. If there is a degree of ‘slop’ in the fit then I can see it would result in cuts that may not be at 90 degrees.

You've single handedly sorted nearly every shortcoming of the original mft..... Now you just need to fix the Achilles heel: accurate, repeatable narrow rips......
That is the biggest shortcoming on the TS55+MFT setup. Another one is where you put the saw between cuts. And the last one would be dust collection. I think these two can be solved toghether.
Jan Albrecht - have you ever seen how much a simple precision straight edge or simple precision square costs from Woodpeckers or Starrett Tools? Precision milling & cutting of components is not a cheap endeavor, very expensive highly accurate commercial CNC machines are used to produce consistency & accuracy with every single piece. Typically higher grade/ quality metal is used for its strength, longevity & better cut quality. Then you add in the surface prep & expensive anodization or finishing process, along with testing every piece produced for accuracy. And then consider all the R&D efforts, drawings, planning, CNC programming, prototyping, testing, careful thought & design that goes into producing a tool such as this... all of which is work that has been done before a single dollar is ever made. And then figure there’s got to be something in the price to make it viable enough to cover the cost of producing, compensate the people involved in bringing it to market, and hopefully you make some margin (which will help afford the ability & incentive to allow for further development & possibility of offering more new, exciting & ingenious quality tools down the road). Add it all up, and consider a quality precision tool like this can easily last a lifetime & it’s actually a very fair price.
Just wanted to mention there’s also the fact that 2nd hand/ used specialty tools like this are always quick sellers on eBay, etc. So if/ when you did decide to buy a tool such as this for $79 or €84... you’ll have a quality tool that will probably outlast your lifetime. But if at any point if you decided you don’t need it anymore, you can always offer it up for sale on eBay, etc. and typically recoup at least 40-80% of what you paid for it. And knowing that there’s always a strong market for good quality 2nd hand tools, basically cuts your actual cost to own the tool in half.
Hi Jaime, I did warn someone in these comments that they should watch out for that. The "Back Order" sign will be there all the time that there is no stock in the warehouse. However, stock moves direct from manufacturing to dispatch if there are back orders to complete and so many customers will receive their items only a few days after ordering despite the back order flag being there all the time. In addition the second fence isn't too unsupported, being that such a large amount is hanging off the edge of the mft.......
Peter: I posed this same question to the folks at Axminster and got this reply from Grace Foster (Specialist Sales Advisor): “In theory, yes, you can use the Parf Guide aluminium block to act as a second fence. However, there may be a slight difference in width between the Guide and Fence of up to 0.4mm.” Perhaps you could talk with the folks at UJK and have the PGS and the PF have the exact same width. That way people who have the PGS (which doesn’t get used daily) could use it in conjunction with PF (which may be used daily) which is what I am planning to do. When I get mine, I will check the alignment. If it is off, maybe I could apply a strip of self-stick 0.4mm thick material to the “offending” edge. Maybe you could address this topic in one of your videos.

I am also planning on using 2 fences to extend the length beyond 600mm and both fences need to be of the same width with the centre of the holes equidistant from the edge. That way, the long workpiece will register flush with both fences. If the widths are not the same and/or the centre of the holes for each fence are not equidistant from the edge then this 2 piece setup to lengthen the fence won't work. There will be a gap for one of the fence.Thanks.

Neat idea. Personally for myself I would prefer a flip-stop instead of a fixed stop. A flip-stop provides the ability to use multiple stops for repeated cuts of multiple sizes. When I used a Festool MFT/3 I used 4 or 5 of the Festool flip-stops for batching out upper and lower carcasses. Being able to flip the stop out of the way without needing to move it helped save the measurement location. Additionally, a longer fence, for myself, would fit my needs. 600mm is not long enough for me. Hopefully this system will continue to evolve over time as users provide you feedback. Looks like it has a lot of potential. 👍

I bought a pair of your new UJK Parf Fences the moment I saw them in your introductory video. As usual, Axminster was absolutely brilliant in their packaging and delivery and I received them within a few days.
I found a really handy use for my second stop (2 fences) when making repetitive cuts. I mark my timber at the desired cut point and push it against the fence and align it to the Festool splinter guard (standard stuff). Then I slide the first Parf stop against the back of the piece and lock it down, securing that length for the next cut or series of cuts (again, this is as expected).
However, I then position my second Parf stop precisely against the back of the first stop and lock it down. Then I remove the first stop and slide my timber down until it encounters the second stop. I make my first cut, this one slightly longer than needed but guaranteeing that the end is absolutely 90° to my fence face. Then, I switch the piece end for end, not round, and prepare to make my final cut. All I have to do to get the piece both absolutely square and properly sized is to drop the first stop back into its original place on the fence, touching stop 2, and slide the timber against it (actually both).
The second stop hasn't been moved so the final cut will be exactly as initially measured.
Of course, if I'm doing a number of identical cuts, I'll make all "long" cuts first, then flip all boards end for end, drop back in the initial stop, and make all "final" cuts.
No measuring, no errors, both ends absolutely 90° to the fence.

I'm finally buying this soon. I've been using the Benchdog uk fence and i despise it. One turn too much and the nuts fall out, plus really hard to read the measurements and you need to take a bit off the end. Wish i had done more research. I'm selling it with the guide square and coming back to your designs. I love that you partnered with Axminster because they are such a cool company and really know how to treat people. Hi Dan, Good to hear from you again. UJK represents the highest quality tools made and sold by Axminster. They are constantly reviewing the range, improving and creating new items. For both my Ultimate Tracksaw Cutting Station and my Kapex mitre station I now use the UJK Fence and Length stop (product code 107068) as they fit onto the bench with 20 mm dogs and can be removed then replaced without the need to re-calibrate. They are not cheap but worth every penny for accurate setup and repeat work. When it comes to dogs I would always use the UJK range as they are all made on the same machines, to the same tollerences as the Parf Guide System and are therefore "one family" of products. How would you cut an 8x4 sheet of hardwood ply on this table? I guess you would mark the top out and decide what rough sizes are first required and then use a circular saw perhaps. Also with a sheet of ply, would you cut a clean edge first and work of of that. The clean edge being the ref side? I'm not a woodworker, but purchased the park guide system. and rails. The new slotted rails.
Hi David, I often have to break down a full 8x4 sheet and make the decision of my first cut depending on the eventual sizes of the pieces coming from the sheet. I try to do the first cut to make the sheet (or two pieces) easier to handle. I do like to create a clean reference edge at an early stage. The first cut or two may have to be done without the benefit of the dogs and PGS created holes but that does not matter as the smaller pieces can be cut accurately once the roughed out pieces are small enough. Suggestion. A bit fiddly to remove the fence once fastened down, wiggling fingers under it etc. Could there be a hook on the blank end of the stop [opposite the bristol handle]? This could then be inserted into a corresponding hole in the dog [a bit like a key into a lock], turned say a quarter turn to lock it and then the dog could be pulled up and the hook then disengaged from it. . The hook would never be lost as it forms part of the stop. Just a suggestion.

Excellent! Consider adding a flag stop to the regular stop. Wouldn’t affect price much but would then allow 2 settings to be held - possibly for drawer parts or other repetitive cuttings.

Really like your videos they have inspired me to take up woodworking as a hobby also partly the Parfguide system as I can easily cut panels at 90 degrees and so much more.
I have invested in most of the Parf guide systems when I used to have a makita track saw but I decide to upgrade to a Bosch track saw, which is miles more Better than the makita. Especially the tracks.
I know that the Parf dogs were made to work with the festool type track but with the Bosch tracks the saw hangs over so it hits the dogs. I know I could offset the holes so them move out further but that would mean a bigger top which I don’t have space for.
I can get something like the rail dogs from bench dog uk but found out that they are just slight too big for the Parf holes, apparently there a different sizes.
I know there could be other ways to use it but the simplicity of the way the dogs works with the festool trac is what makes the system so usable.
Is there any ideas or products in the works with ukj that will work with the Bosch/mafell tracks, the other stuff on the market just can’t match the quality and feel of the ukj dog. If a product was in the works it would make the system even more complete

Hi Peter, I have one of these in purdah until my birthday next month. I was thinking, for those like me with a smaller bench, a 40mm wide dog or two would be a great extra, unfortunately the dog stop collars are 38mm wide so cannot be used. The back stop is only 30mm wide, there needs to be more co-ordination with this product range.

@@NewBritWorkshop Thanks Peter, I realize that your fence (in its current configuration) is not capable of doing angles. Rather I was putting an idea out there... I'm wondering if there would be a way to make the plate with a pivot point at one end and then an array of holes laid out farther down the plate (without getting too wide) that would create a fence capable of being set at many common angles. I see that another UK company has made a design update to their rail square so it is capable of being mounted it at these three common angles by installing a second adaptor pin in different threaded holes in their plate. It sounds like a good concept, but it would create multiple angled score marks across the table top. I would rather keep the guide rail in the same position (thus one common score line) and find away to rotate the fence with a standard MFT hole layout (I realize another option is laying out angled rows in my work top like you did in your cutting station video).

If you used the Parf Dog system to build your bench, you already have one of them - a perfect fence.
Peter. Having received my (2) Parf Fences I have one thing to ask... could you please consider one additional item... another Parf Fence but only 1/3 length of the existing. I am using (1) on each side of the track and it leaves me with a long side of my bench not long enough for a 3rd Parf Fence. I would like to have the fence the full length of my bench and it would be perfect.

Looks nice and all but won't that design allow for sawdust etc to be collected along the rails thus preventing workpieces from aligning properly along with the fences?
Hi Eric, Any fence may have this issue and it is good woodworking practice to brush away dust that collects. Generally the stock being cut should stop most of the sawdust from collecting against the fence. Peter
Excellent, this looks to be precisely what I need. Can this be used in conjunction with the Super Dogs in the 25mm mid bush configuration to elevate the fence off the table? I tend to use spoil boards or table protectors on my MFT which may exceed the 10mm fence height. I just can't bring myself to cut into a £500 table...
You can use Parf Guide Dogs up the wrong way and they will go through the fence and your sacrificial top into the bench below. The fact that the chamfer will not engage is not a big deal but the adjustable stop will collide with anything sticking above the surface of the fence. This is not a real problem as you can move the offending dog to another hole if the sliding stop needs to be in a certain place.
The Parf Guide System is designed to remove the anxiety of cutting into a bench top as you can then produce a new one any time you like - that is what I do. Peter
Hi Peter, how come you haven't invented a miter gauge and fence system with a couple of dogs attached via a 't' track on the bottom? I know Festool has one to fit on a rail but to have one that simply drops into a couple of dog holes would be super don't you think. People building their own tops with your great Parf guide don't have the rails on the side to accommodate the Festool one.

Peter, I get the omission of a ruler, but I think a toothed edge to locate the stop would be a great idea. This edge and the stop could mesh together. The purpose of this would be to establish repeatable setups without measuring. Think INCRA. They do this sort of thing. Yes, it adds complexity and cost. I appreciate your constant effort to keep costs down. This is just something to think about.

Hi Peter, thanks for the video. Why was the fence made in 10mm aluminium? It seems to me that rules out cutting any stock under 10mm without bowing the guide rail slightly. It's a interest product which I can see I would use but I would have to continue using my own thinner stock mdf fence for thin stock. Cheers, G.
Hi Graham, I think Axminster did some survey work of some sort and most people were cutting thicker than 10 mm. It is easy to cut less by putting a spacer under the guide rail or piece being cut. Cheers. Peter
A 600 and a 400 would be an ideal pairing rather than two 600s with one overhanging the edge of the MFT - would be better for people who have standard size workbenches or those who don't want to make a new custom one right away. Still probably going to end up getting two anyway because they'll be extremely useful, but if a 400mm version comes out in the future that would be great!

Peter, as a newcomer to your PARF system, would you please explain to me why 96mm are used as centers between the 20mm holes. I use my cutting line as a reference point to spacing my dogholes dependant upon the width of cutting track used.
Hi George, It is all to do with Euro standard fittings which have 32 mm, 48 mm and 96 mm as a base or multiple. It is useful as 96 is divisible by so many other numbers. Peter

Hi Jason, If the Parf Fence is on your bench like mine then the tall dog nearest the user can be moved in order to do a 45 degree cut. The fence has to go either along a row or a column but not at any other angle. Peter

I like the fence. One thing I have noticed about the UJK Rail Clips is that when you have a MFT table with holes on the entire table, the Kerf line is on the holes. Someone should invent a Dog that is wider on top so it pushes the rail out further so the Kef line is in between the holes.

Hi Jeff, For a cutting station I would like to have a surface just under the full size of a sheet of MDF. However, having moved and with a smaller workshop my cutting station is approximately 1800 mm x 1100 mm. There is no "ideal" size only what is best for the user. With care, the accuracy of a top created with the Parf Guide System is perfectly good up to a full sheet size. Ron Paulk has recently made one that is quite large and it is spot on. Cheers. Peter

Is the Parf Guide Mk II compatible with the Parf Fence? Instead of using two Parf Fences, can I use my Parf Guide Mk II along with a Parf Fence, will they line up perfectly?
Hi Timothy, There is no reason not to try this as the 96 mm spacing is universal but you will need to use the locator dogs that came with the PGS to set the guide. Good luck. Peter

That looks quite nice.... and (like a dummy) I hadn't made the connection between your name and the "Parf" products until today. :D
Be advised that this product does *not* fit Festool MFT3 tops; Peter was in error when he said so on this video and has said so on other forums. If you read the Axminster copy carefully you will find they indicate that it is only guaranteed to fit tops made with the UJK Parf Guide setup. It is a great design and nicely made but it may not fit the Festool tops due to tolerance stackups that may allow the holes in the top to be slightly misaligned to the holes in the fence, making it impossible to install the dogs.

Let me start off by saying how brilliant I think the entire UJK park system is! Bought all the UJK parf gizmos so now have the entire UJK Kit. Unfortunately used the system for the first time and I could not understand why I was getting some discrepancies. My cutting table was laid out perfectly. Today, I thought I would check the accuracy of the UJK Part Fence. They are not flat. If I place a straight edge along the sides I can see that they are warped. When I place the straight edge along the side of the UJK Parf Fence I can rock the straight edge, as it is supported only in the centre leaving gaps on either side. What a pity, such a wonderful design. I took photos but it appears, I cannot upload photos to this board.

A nice idea and looks like a good quality product, but at 70 quid that seems very steep as some aluminium extrusion and some Bench Dogs are a fair bit cheaper.
Yes, but this very effectively replaces the need for a larger table saw, at least for making repeat cuts on large sheet goods. As someone with a small shop and budget, I think it's a worthwhile system. Now... Just gotta get around to making my MFT top!
One thing, MDF is really bad for your saw blades so using an MDF top is burning through your blades pretty quick isnt it?

Hi Peter, I enjoy your work. After 25 years, it's time to retire my old bench. So, I am building a hybrid workbench with a torsion top & MFT grid. I would like to share an idea for a modification to this fence that would make it even more versatile, but I can't work out how to make contact??

does the whole placement allow for 45deg cuts, or just 90deg?
Hi Craig, I said in an earlier post that it is just 90 degrees but I was WRONG !! Place the Parf Fence in the normal way but move the tall dog nearest to the operator to a hole that is at 45 degrees to the tall dog near the fence. Hence a 45 degree cut is possible. Peter
I love all of your products... But why orange? Why is it that everyone that makes machined aluminum products like woodpeckers feels it's gotta be an obnoxious bright color? Just a small gripe and I'll still be buying them!

Hi Stephen, The current one is 1620 mm x 1020 mm. I find it a very good size as one can cut a full sheet (not with dogs) at the start of the break-down process. Peter

Correction : my 2/3 fence has 8 holes (standard has 12) not 6 as stated below.
The exchanges below raise a good point about the usefulness of the Veritas planing stops for this purpose, with the advantage of their utility for thinner stock (and perhaps disadvantage for thicker stock, though I don't know why that would be). I have found the long Veritas planing stop to be dead accurate on my MFT. (Minimally smaller diameter dogs do not introduce inaccuracy as long as both dogs are the same diameter). So Peter, how about a 4 or 5 cut test to compare the accuracy of the two approaches; it would be good to know if you find the Veritas planing stops as useful with the Parf products as I do.

@@NewBritWorkshop I will do that and report back. Given that any fence can only be as good as the holes in the table, it would be best if we compared the parf fence and the planing stop on the same table. I don't (yet) have a parf fence and you don't have a planing stop, so our testing will have some limitations. So there is something to compare the planing stop to, I will also do a 5-cut test on the same table with my Veritas small parf dogs as the control. I will use my Veritas large parf dogs for the guide rail. I recently got a new MFT top so at least that should be consistent between the devices. If you have other suggestions I will try to incorporate them.
I was debating whether to get this fence vs the Benchdog version but finally brought 2 set of this because I can use this fence as bench stop also. But to my horror when I receive the product few days back it was so badly machined with lots of horrible milling mark on the fence. So bad that the sliding block cannot slide smoothly on the fence. But I have a urgent small project to finish so decided not to return the product and just try to use some sanding paper on glass to lapp it. Took me 2hrs and still not perfectly smooth. Should have just get the Benchdog version or just use some 20x20 Alu extrusion instead. One design problem is when u try to adjust the sliding block the whole block will just comes of the fence if u try to do it single handed. U always need to press the block with one hand and loosen the screw with the other hand and carefully move it. The original MFT fence and Benchdog ver should not have this problem.
You should have contacted Axminster Customer Services straight away and it would have been replaced. I have spoken to Axminster on your behalf. Peter
@@NewBritWorkshop I have already contacted them before my post with photo proof, they said I sanded the fence and no exchange. I stayed 10k km from UK and DHL took 5-6 days 1 way to me and I needed the fence to finish one small project. So figured not worth the time, money and effort to send back. Expected they will say no exchange before I sanded the fence anyway. But paying for premium UJK product I never have expect such problem in the first place. And its 2 out of 2 bad fence in the same shipment.
As I said, I have spoken to them and they would have sorted this out without any fuss had you not sanded the fence. Peter
Looks great. I like the right angle setup for small lamination glue-ups. Use the pgs to create some holes on a melamine top. Shove the panels into the corner of the fences and use wedges or other clamps to press against the perfect right angle. Chuck a weight on top if required.

I wish you luck with the newest Parf product, but I can't help but ask why it costs almost three times as much as a 450mm veritas planing stop, which (bar the stop for repeat cuts) would appear to give very similar functionality? 🤔 Come on Peter, point out what I have no doubt missed.
The Veritas planning stops (Which I have in short and 450mm lengths) won't allow for precise alignment - their dogs are slightly smaller than the holes, and there is an O-ring between the dogs and the aluminium bar.
Now, before Peter invented this contraption, I've made something similar with good quality MDF, short dogs or anchor dogs (and the Parf drilling system)… In its most basic form, this has the additional advantage of working with even thinner stock, or to make stops which match the stock to be worked on, and to allow 45 degree cuts (with a long stop for instance)… With some creativity one can easily add stops (or -better- flip stops).

Thanks both, that makes sense, Given the Veritas planing stop is sold in 19mm and 20mm versions I had assumed they would be a good fit. If there is a degree of ‘slop’ in the fit then I can see it would result in cuts that may not be at 90 degrees.

That is the biggest shortcoming on the TS55+MFT setup.
Another one is where you put the saw between cuts. And the last one would be dust collection. I think these two can be solved toghether.

Jan Albrecht - have you ever seen how much a simple precision straight edge or simple precision square costs from Woodpeckers or Starrett Tools? Precision milling & cutting of components is not a cheap endeavor, very expensive highly accurate commercial CNC machines are used to produce consistency & accuracy with every single piece. Typically higher grade/ quality metal is used for its strength, longevity & better cut quality. Then you add in the surface prep & expensive anodization or finishing process, along with testing every piece produced for accuracy. And then consider all the R&D efforts, drawings, planning, CNC programming, prototyping, testing, careful thought & design that goes into producing a tool such as this... all of which is work that has been done before a single dollar is ever made. And then figure there’s got to be something in the price to make it viable enough to cover the cost of producing, compensate the people involved in bringing it to market, and hopefully you make some margin (which will help afford the ability & incentive to allow for further development & possibility of offering more new, exciting & ingenious quality tools down the road). Add it all up, and consider a quality precision tool like this can easily last a lifetime & it’s actually a very fair price.
Just wanted to mention there’s also the fact that 2nd hand/ used specialty tools like this are always quick sellers on eBay, etc. So if/ when you did decide to buy a tool such as this for $79 or €84... you’ll have a quality tool that will probably outlast your lifetime. But if at any point if you decided you don’t need it anymore, you can always offer it up for sale on eBay, etc. and typically recoup at least 40-80% of what you paid for it. And knowing that there’s always a strong market for good quality 2nd hand tools, basically cuts your actual cost to own the tool in half.
I agree and this will dilute the innovation part of the brand.

Hi Jaime, I did warn someone in these comments that they should watch out for that. The "Back Order" sign will be there all the time that there is no stock in the warehouse. However, stock moves direct from manufacturing to dispatch if there are back orders to complete and so many customers will receive their items only a few days after ordering despite the back order flag being there all the time. I'm just hoping when 2 are placed in series along the top of the mft there is no void area in which the stop won't sit. In addition the second fence isn't too unsupported, being that such a large amount is hanging off the edge of the mft.......

Peter: I posed this same question to the folks at Axminster and got this reply from Grace Foster (Specialist Sales Advisor): “In theory, yes, you can use the Parf Guide aluminium block to act as a second fence. However, there may be a slight difference in width between the Guide and Fence of up to 0.4mm.”
Perhaps you could talk with the folks at UJK and have the PGS and the PF have the exact same width. That way people who have the PGS (which doesn’t get used daily) could use it in conjunction with PF (which may be used daily) which is what I am planning to do. When I get mine, I will check the alignment. If it is off, maybe I could apply a strip of self-stick 0.4mm thick material to the “offending” edge. Maybe you could address this topic in one of your videos.

I am also planning on using 2 fences to extend the length beyond 600mm and both fences need to be of the same width with the centre of the holes equidistant from the edge. That way, the long workpiece will register flush with both fences. If the widths are not the same and/or the centre of the holes for each fence are not equidistant from the edge then this 2 piece setup to lengthen the fence won't work. There will be a gap for one of the fence.Thanks.
