Psychotic Break From The Saltiest Runback in the Souls Series

- This is what, the 3rd stream we've attempted Iron Passage? Easily my most hated area in Fromsoft's franchise history. Runbacks are fun in theory, but I think they aren't fun to optimize through repetition like a well designed boss. It just is reduced to you knowing how to aggro one enemy at a time. They would need some sick enemy AI, I think sekiro could do this as most enemies are interesting to learn like a boss on their own but sadly nothing in sekiro can prevent Wolf from sprinting faster than sonic to every boss encounter. Kind of makes challenge runs of it lame imo.

The Double Blind playthrough is simply Sweed and I, having never played Dark Souls II nor wanting to, being coerced by chat into playing it by calling us fake soulsbourne gamers. We decided a Co-op run might actually be decent, however we had no idea we were signing up for over 3 months of consecutive DS2 streams.

thank you for convincing me not to continue ds2 you have saved me much pain
I can't wait for Green Smelter Demon DLC coming this summer to Elden Ring
And then they combine and you have to fight Regismelter demon
Green Smelter Demon sounds like a pretty dope boss fight actually.
Poison fire just like Sinh.
I remember doing a challenge run or two of this game, before the Scholar of The First Sin nonsense. Watching your suffering makes me wonder how the heck was I able to do it without throwing my controller.
Mentioning DS2 followed by crying intermixed with laughter about sums it up
Really wanted to communicate the waning of my sanity with this series
@@loopine Good luck Lupine lol
Funnily enough, the use of Ludwig's Boss Theme here is honestly better than the actual in-game Boss Theme for Blue Smelter Demon...
(Which is already recycled from the Ruin Sentinels and OG Smelter Demon, kek)
As much pain as this was for the streamers i really miss tuning in every weekend for the very chill no salt ds2 run.
thank you Side Effect
The only man in this stream who's mental anguish is equal to that of my own
AOE AOE AOE AOE
Seriously the most rage inducing shit of this whole playthrough. The run to the boss is shit, boss 2 shots you, its range is unpredictable, it fuckin burns and hurts you just being close to it, and its a paid-for re-skinned shit ass boss from the main game.
Your editing is fantastic as always, I laughed my ass off the whole way through. Only critique is there was too much anime for me. Its fun to re-live this run again.
Haha yup this was the Darkest hour. Actually Mak edited this one!
yo where are the stakes of marika?
Steaks of 'muricah?
I recently did this on my no-healing play-through on an under-levelled character. Oh and on this play-through I need to kill each enemy in the game at least once. Needless to say clearing all of the enemies in this area, the run-back and dealing with the DoT (and the boss in general) without being allowed to heal was pretty soul crushing.
There were many bad moments in the play-through but this was definitely among the worst.
I got it in the end though.
@@BBQcheese Because I'm incredibly stubborn and once I start something I never give up :D I'd done it for all the other games so I figured I had to do it for Ds2 as well.

@@BBQcheese If you wanna try, I highly suggest always having an arrow or two, along with any projectile to bait enemies. While there's no need to fully level up ADP, having a handful of points would help. And most importantly: you don't have to do the optional areas. Wanna do them with NPCs? Go for it, otherwise it's not a good time investment.
I believe the OG DS2 with the 3 DLC is the better experience since there isn't an insane amount of ganks, but if you have Scholar, I won't ask you to spend money on DS2. PVP it's the best part, though.
Never played the DLC... Now I never want to 😬
I would say enjoy it vicariously or if you reallly want more after the main game in one playthrough
@@loopine Nah, did a live playthrough of it last year pre-Elden Ring, awful experience 😂🤢
for some reason this is making me want to play ds2
I unironically still have more fun playing DS2 over 1 or even 3 at this point.
Not everyone is a masochist bro.
@@mycity7590 Not sure what that means
@@flailingdragoon1072 ask Alexa to define it
@@loopine No like, I know what masochist means, just not sure why they said that xd
@@loopine good video btw
If I have to do this run back ever again, I will kill myself (in Minecraft)
You guys thought Eleum Loyce was the pinnacle of the salt saga? I lied 😈
Also damn I still cannot do drunk math holy shit. Also, the irony of complaining about bosses with positional based followups is not lost on me, however this was before Elden Ring and this boss is A) fucking dogshit and slower than molasses in Janurary and B) the attack has essentially no telegraph and come out 360 degrees that he does as a combo ender 80% of the entire fight since he spams this combo. Pretty cool to see they were playing with ideas of position based attacks and combo flowcharting all the way back in ds3, BB, and even ds2.
The cut at 16:40 struck me dead on the spot
best souls 2 😎
That's the best one 👊😎
You're gonna need an irl Estus Flask with the amount of suffering DS2 will give you.
Also DS2 pvp as bad as you say? I haven't tried it out myself so I can't say for sure.
No the PvP is the good part if you are not satisfied with ds3 or the weird rps of ds1 backstabbing. I like ds1 and ds3 pvp more though but its something different which is why there is a cult for it
@@loopine Oh okay then, because usually the consensus for DS2 pvp is that it's better than the pvp for a majority of the Soulsborne games so I was little surprised in the opening cus I thought you hated it but I would still respect your opinion if you did hate it.
@@peronafanman well i wouldnt say its the best at all. I think all the games offer something different for PvP, its like different styles and metas and mechanics. Different strokes for different folks. My ds2 PvP experience is just dueling SideEffect or getting invaded by virgin hackers
@@loopine Alright that's fair, I have seen a great numbers of people also defend DS1 and DS3 pvp so I think it truly does come down to opinions and such.
:D
