The Challenge Run in it's entirety: • Margit RL1+0 Zwei Only...
This is from my infamous "Suck it Anderson" Elden Ring challenge run. I always nickname runs so they aren't such a mouthful, but basically it's a Zweihander only, RL1+0 build. The point of this run is for me to have fun mastering the bosses while showing that anyone with two eyeballs and a heartbeat can learn the bosses, and to show that colossal weapons are better now than they have ever been. The posture system is a better incentive to playing aggressive than the rally system ever was tbh.

Congratulations you madman.
You made me enjoy Elden Ring one year ago, as I previously believed all that nonsense about the bosses having undodgeable attacks, not having punish windows etc.
I have nothing else to add.
"Hesitation is the feet" -Michael Zaki
Well, well, well, if it isn't Lorenzo :D
I feel the same way. I always blamed the game and the developers for my failure in my first playthrough instead of using the tools the game gave me. Your videos were a harsh but all the more needed vibe check, and now I went into the game once more with a better mindset and I absolutely loved it. It's now one of my favorite games.
@@taha_bin_mehdi it's weird seeing you here. What do you mean by "your videos", anyways?
Yo I remember your comments in the past you were saying that they were unfair & have unavoidable damage and all that, good to see you changed your mind because these bosses are the best in the series IMO.
@@HeyTarnished to me Sekiro's are better, but still very very good.
After my first playthrough I just watched Joseph Anderson and all those who follow, and while I thought that video was super unwatchable because it was too long, badly edited, he never got to the point and always made examples instead of actually talking about the game (I do have a terrible attention span though), I forced myself to watch it and I was just left with the vague sentiment "bosses bad". It took me long to realize that knowledge in a video game, and to an extent in real life isn't divinely received when I constantly do something, but when I actually learn about something. 3 months ago I finished an ER playthrough where I did no heal on any major boss with a quality build and always the worst weapons, and I appreciate the bosses much more now (the whole thing also lasted for 3 months, I don't have much time to play video games really but I think that was my peak Elden Ring playthrough)
@@lorenzo8208 the first line was directed to you, the rest to Lupine. Didn't want to write two different comments, but that would have probably been better
Can't wait for the ER dlc Anderson run 😁
An entire year to say "Yeah, this game is the GOAT"
Gigachad among gigachads.
Challenge running Elden Ring then going back to older Souls games really made me appreciate how well made Elden Ring bosses are. Congrats on powering through this run.
(also tf is going on in that thumbnail LMAO)
"That was a bad attempt"
Peak challenge runner moment. I completely understand. Congratulations goat.
World's First!!!!!!!!
Really looking forward to your analysis video. Your first response to Anderson is still probably the best analysis of souls combat on UA-cam.
12:40 I think it's interesting that if you look at the utility of the "attack buttons" in Dark Souls, out of the original three games, it was actually DS2 that gave the greatest attack variety because like DS1 and unlike DS3, heavy R2 attacks matter, and it was the only one with power stancing L1 attacks. Meanwhile, Elden Ring has these but with better boss IQ and DS3 combat roll speed, plus shields have a dedicated damage related mechanic in guard counters. Elden Ring truly is a great successor to the Souls formula.
Souls formula isn't just bosses you know
The JA video didn't age well at all. I'd argue it was self-contradictory, ill-informed, and inane on release as well but certainly a year later most of it has been shown to be complete horse crap. The bosses have massive and consistant punish windows, they just arent as obvious and elongated as some of the older more primitive souls games.
Replace "primitive" with "better designed" next time
@vazazell5967 boss fights?. no
Imo his video was putting words to what alot of veteran souls players felt. I'm honestly glad he made the video, because it got the conversation going and led to some really good dialogue and analysis of the bosses in this game that I think was good for the community overall
@@smitty215able Perhaps. But honestly, I feel like he, Demod, and Nasu just poisoned the well permanently since it gave all those individuals who were frustrated with the game, and didn't even bother finding good reasons WHY a PLATFORM to even exist and congregate. And the same old critiques are rising up again with the DLC fights(which I honestly found more consistent than the base game tbh since a lot of them are less visually noisy such as Midra, Rellana, and even damn Putrescent Knight).
Hey congratulations
you now have a very very intimate understanding of the bosses
I still remember when the first Margit video came out almost a year ago. It is great to see how far you have come. My utmost congratulations!
Absolutely lovely to have been there for this stream. However I must wonder how I'll be able to play ds2 now without this challenge run playing in the background.
don't
LETSSSSS GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Still not harder than the Rick, the soldier of god hitless tho.
Nah but seriously though huge congrats on this run!
What do you think you’re gonna do next?
For challenge runs probably sekiro stuff
Joseph Anderson boutta get real quiet after this one
How is it that after a year of this run your first words were "Not my best run" in an extremely nonchalant voice??
Loved this whole series though Lupine, thank you for proving once and for all that professional video game essayists are bozos
Oh, it was proven long before this lol
What a ride!!! Looking forward to your next project. This run actually inspired me to do the same some time ago (even though i had never done a challenge run of a souls game ever) and it was a blast learning most of these bosses, Mohg, Maliketh, Radagon, Morgott and Radahn are some of my favourites. it was so fun that i went and did the same for DS3...it was...also very enlightening💀.
thinking about doing it for BB next.
Non stop talking shit on all the scrubs while you cook is goated
Just spanked it to Elden Ring - A Shattered Masterpiece in your honor, gg man.
It was an honor being part of this journey and witnessing your mastery of this game! Congratulations and big GG for finishing your 1 year challenge! I'm looking forward to future challenges you might set upon yourself!
Congrats man.
If not for you I probably would have never changed my approach to fight ER bosses. Glad I did, cause I had a blast since. And you should be proud I say this, cause (don't kill me for this, please) I like Anderson's videos, and still do. I came here prepared to hate, and ended up subscribing.
I was here when history was made
21:58 okay but when 😈. We need to see the worlds first rl1 ng+7 +0 no buffs/aux/aow godskin duo kill KEKW
Ok, now you can do it blindfolded. surely
Can't beleive you used a real photograph of yourself for the thumbnail
GG and much respect, Tarnished :)
Congrats
I honestly cannot wait for Feeble King and Anderson regurgitate their nonsensical claims for the DLC.
It has happened
feeble king mentioned. day made
You’ve done all your Zwei brothers proud gg 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
God Slain
Were you able to edit your save file back to NG for the dlc?
Great job! Would you mind offering your thoughts and strategies on Radabeast?
Better to run up to wave of gold or away depending on range but should try and stock to him or approach during a different long range attack to avoid it altogether. Ring you jump the hitbox is shifted slightly behind the animation, better to jump late than early. Keep him away from the arena wall as best you can. Serpentine the projectile rain otherwise they can hit the back of your foot while sprinting sometimes (although the dodge is slightly different for the different versions but it's not too demanding). Radagon on his hammer swing that splits into either hammer ground slam or that fast shotgun, just watch his left elbow, if he raises it to his chest it's shotgun if you see his hammer hanging behind his head it's hammer slam. Don't roll on his fast teleports, reaction roll the slow version with the audio cues that lands on top of you. You can tell if he can chain cast shotgun spray if he throws the 1st volley with his arm str8 out and then ends it with his hand against his chest, he can then chain cast it by flicking his arm back out if he wants. If he starts it from inside and his arm is outstretched he won't chain cast (honestly might be vice versa of what I said but pretty sure). Elden Stars obviously do the run around dodge or learn to posture break him out of it.
Idk how anyone can say strength builds are unviable. I use strength because its by far the easiest way to play
lets fucking gooooooooooooo
Preem song choices throughout this series
Nice name lol, just listened to that album. I also used a serial experiments lain track for Gideon and for his thumbo, I shopperd him onto the cyberia album cover

I was checking the playlist and saw this randomly lmao, congrats on finishing the run
Since I'm already here, just wanted to say that your ER videos helped me appreciate the game even more and realize that the game is not bad, I was just being a idiot
DOG SLAIN
What a journey!

You know , maybe if you did not call him scrub he would have responded in any way but whatever .
Congratulations

@@loopine oh sorry I will edit it it has spelling errors
I mean, he is a scrub that led thousanda of people to believe misinformation
He is a scrub though
It is not an insult to call a scrub, a scrub
The ruck, when did you stream this? I can’t believe I ACTUALLY fucking missed it. So cringe. (Gg on the challenge by the way amazing job, finally your set free)
What the hell is this thumbnail
But ngl though Fromsoft should stop slapping boss hp bar and fogwall everywhere, those watchdog and cemetery shade from dungeon would be a great elite enemies if their hp got reduced a bit and increase enemies number to protect the lever. Not having boss inside every dungeon wouldn't be so bad if they use those elite enemies and made better dungeon level design with them.
Dungeons are more immersion breaking than in Skyrim, absolutely the worst part of ER
@vazazell5967 the most immersion breaking thing for me was running on top of water the boss is obviously swimming in
