Adaptability is not important, Agility is. Attunement will raise Agility too, making casters' lives a bit easier.
Inversely, you can make up for having bad Agility by having very good armor and high weight carry, or no armor at all and making use of the entire roll distance, a bit like you'd play any game where dodge rolling doesn't have s.

Yeah, ADP is either feast or famine, whether you have basically none and life is misery, or you have enough and the game is trivial because it needs to be at least POSSIBLE for the no-agility tribe, it was a bad mechanic, when equip load and Dex-based cast-speed increase already fulfils a similar design role more elegantly, without undercutting fundamental core mechanics.

It doesn't aim in the direction you're moving in. Heavy weapons' attack direction can be manipulated even when locked on by holding down the movement input, but it starts out in the direction of your lock-on. So a little bit of mechanical trivia for you all. The physical defense of enemies will generally be about the same for all enemies in an area and will steadily rise the further into the game you go with some odd outliers. For instance: the Covetous Demon not only has unusually low defense for his area but he actually has the lowest defense in the game. But there's no outlier as extreme as those three little pigs in Majula, who have Final/DLC Boss defense.

16:04 DS2 hitboxes in action, if you go frame by frame you can see how damage is dealt when he's not touching the blade at all. He intersects the spear in the instants leading up to death, but the moment when the damage registers is after he's clear of it. I suppose it could be bad animations instead of bad hitboxes, if it somehow stored and delayed dealing the damage from when he did connect with the spear until it no longer made sense to do so.

With a wildly unpopular opinion, this is my favorite souls game.
I don’t disagree that it’s not the best but DS2 is the most fun I’ve had playing a souls game period. It’s both incredibly easy and bullshit difficult with life gems and ADP and choosing to not use either of these. Depending on how you want to play this is either the hardest or the easiest souls game by far (sorta like Eldenring).
The lore is meh, kinda just DS1 but again, nonetheless still intriguing. The music is wonderful and this is proved by the fact you’ve probably heard the majula theme at least once even if you’ve never played the game before. The bosses are great (most of the time) and are numerous providing cool weapons and difficult challenges.
Anyways I should probably watch the video now 😅

This one brought so many memories, and specially I reflect on how I didn't really like any of the areas throughout the game LOL! Looking at it with perspective, and after having played Sekiro, Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring after it... Thinking about the areas on Dark Souls 2, it seems to me the whole game was made on the idea of making your life myserable with traps, all enemies strategically positioned to harass, take you by surprise, or flood you with numbers, cramped areas, more traps, etc. I believe I would hate playing this game right now after having played all the others... The only trully good things I recall are the bosses, A LOT and varied and almost all of them gave you their soul to change for equipment, some of the zones for the ambiance, tone and design like the lava castle, the underground waters were the giant SIren-toad sings, the tower of the mirror knight, the dragon mountaintops, or even that underground section on Majula's well that was pitch black (although, of course, the poison-spitting traps xD)... Then the DLCs were pretty decent too and added quite a bunch of new bosses, weapons and nifty things to collect, plus some new mechanics and nice developed areas.
