Dark souls 1 was and will always be a backstab fest with some dark magic or WoG. I think dark souls 3 and bloodborne failed on a PvP level because the gameplay was too fast. Too easy to back away, roll, heal.

Also that new mod called Blue Acolyte is also going to help a lot. Oroboro's partially responsible for it getting popular too since he talked about it when streamed DS2 the other day. I have been meaning to install it but the last week or two has been really crazy for me. What is the best part of that mod imo is the fact that it is reviving the Blue Sentinel Covenant. Before it was very rare that anyone would be able to invade sinners as a Blue Sentinel but with that mod I bet it's a lot easier to do so. In the last week or two I've been invaded by three Blue Sentinels (because I sinned) and one of them actually killed me. I hope the Blue Sentinels truly get revived so I can invade and kill enough sinners to get Wrath of the Gods without having to go to NG+2.

I’ve gotten 5 hit rollcatch chains with ultras, but it’s pretty rare since your opponent would have to be pretty bad to get rollcaught that many times in a row.
@Michael Harrington I'd suggest watching some high skill DS1 pvp before reducing it down to backstab fishing and dark bead, neither of which are prevalent in top-tier play.

When would you say is the perfect time to roll in the second game? Sometimes it feels like rolling late is the way to go to attempt to avoid the harsh damage you can pick up during the evade. Is it rolling in the right direction to minimize your time within the enemies swing? The second question, is how do you time parrying in dks 2? It feels so foreign compared to the other 2 games.

In pvp aspect it was never really fun. The problems were since the start. Roll spam/estus spam/phantoms spam. U can just parry oneshot target or do oneshot combos. Arena experience in both games are kind of meeeh. I enjoy invading in between 70/80 lvls when u can actually have a build and do strange shit like shieldbash bulid or bleed build

I’m surprised you can find invasions in souls 2 anymore, back when I’d go back and make a character my favorite being 700k soul memory I found invasions only rarely and trying to get cracked eyes in the duels was hard vs people with 50-100m soul memory. XD like this build bro, that crypt great sword is a weapon I never really used in any build back in this games golden age
Use the new Blue Acolyte mod. It protects against cheaters and allows for Wex Dust type invasions in DS2. And it makes your invasion items unlimited. It's the reason people are pvping in DS2 again
