    This mower has an SV150 engine so is a bit more fiddly than the Briggs And Stratton ones ! (nobody likes these)

    i have had it work on a hayter briggs and stratton mower. Squirted into the carb intake side with carb cleaner and it started and eventually ran fine. Just enough to make it pull some fuel through.

    Great site look at it all the time for ideas.
    I've got an RV 150 I've cleaned the carb etc, when I use easy- start it starts but will not keep running any ideas as to what else I can do to keep it running.

    I had a lawnmower with an SV150 engine and I swapped it over for a Briggs and Stratton Classic 35 given by a friend.

    hi great vid ,,could you tell me how to tighten the alan key bolts on to the body from the handle ,,cant see any on the inside and they just turning do i need to remove all the cowling ?

    I have a Mountfield SP454 with SV150 engine and the carb bowl seems fast to the carb body despite removing the bowl bolts, what's the best way to remove without damage.?

    Not sure why people dislike the SV150 - yes the recoil is a bit weak and the coil may burn out faster than a Briggs - but parts are dirt cheap and readily available. Had an L-head for several years and always started at 1-2 pull. They may need better maintenance and storage - but you paid a lesser price. Good deal from my experience

    Would go with carb cleaner Paul . But they are a bit of a pig . The recoils are utter junk to start with.
    Coils break down . The list goes on.

      Mike Bowen If it's a briggs and stratton engine you need to change the diaphragm and gasket

    Couldn't agree more. This engine is the only 4 stroke (or 2 stroke for that matter) that I could not fix start/run issues. It's an absolute piece of 💩💩💩. Even had an old B&S classic that had half the normal compression that ran better than this turd.
