Im not trying to be funny here. But aluminum is 3 times MORE conductive than steel, but with sensitive electronics on vehicles today and that being a 2000w amp, it would still be wise to have an independent ground 👍

Aluminum is an excellent conductor of electricity. Copper and aluminum connections should be avoided due to galvanic corrosion.

Great video! I will use part of this. My biggest problem is that I have a 2022 F150 with the bigger 12" screen and no where on the internet can i find a video of them installing this pac unit to the newer model trucks with that big screen. I'm terrified of taking apart such a beautiful new screen without knowing exactly what to do beforehand. Just a thought!!

I've recently installed an AudioControl LC5i Pro with a JJ XDM700 5 chan amp. 4 chan to the doors/front tweeters and one chan to a sub. I have the non-sony factory radio. I'm dealing with high white noise floor due to the door chime, backup camera, touchscreen beep volume being amplified. This volume seems to be set in the Ford programming and since I've seen you do installs on many F150s, how do you handle this? Through Forscan? I have a 2015 F150 3.5 Ecoboost non-Sony setup. Thanks for your video series too!

Are you using a T harness / load resistors? I need more info on how you've integrated into the OEM radio. This video is integrating to an aftermarket radio, where the other video shows how to integrate into the factory radio: ua-cam.com/video/-_GPd8Y7yGw/v-deo.html

@@ProvoBeastAudio I'm using a T-harness from factory radio into an LC5i Pro. Since posting this comment I've adjusted the built-in load resistors on the LC5i Pro to 60 ohm. That took care of sending the chimes back to the door speakers but did not help with the high white noise floor.

    Great share PBAI!
    Newbie here! Have questions..
That amp sensor on the truck. It can sense amp draws from two different cables?
The ground distribution block. Just curious why you didn’t run the cable straight to the amp?
    Not criticizing. Just learning.

Why would you bolt the copper wire (ground) directly to aluminium?
    Won't it oxidate?
For copper/alumiunium connections we need special al/cu-parts

I ran the multiconductor speaker wire from my 6-channel rockford fosgate amp to to wiring harness connecting to my factory harness behind the head unit. My 2 12”s work fine, my amp powers on and doesn’t enter limp mode, however my door speakers don’t produce any sound at all. I don’t believe this is an issue with the wiring, but I can’t figure out any other solution. Any thoughts?

So 1 question and 1 comment, how did you do the line out to the 6 rca channels? Never showed that did you use an LC6/7I or similar? I noticed you kept your RCA and speaker outputs on the passenger side to keep it from being run over power and ground, only to wrap the speaker wires around the power and ground at the amp? Do not do that especially with a higher power amp like this. That's a no no for possible interference.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 роки тому

We had an aftermarket radio (video in description) which is why an LOC wasn't needed whatsoever. And very unlikely to have interference when your ground has little to no resistance, using quality RCA cables, etc. What we did was just fine.

Factory Speaker wiring generally is all copper, and should support up to a max of 100 to 150 watts RMS. Anything more, you will need to run new wiring.

Yes. My 2016 F-150 is Sync 3 and I have an amp and 2 subs under the seat. I am about to rewire the ground, however. I think this is causing an issue dueto the aluminum body. It's annoying.
