Watch a full tutorial as a 2021 Ford F150 / Lightning Truck will have new Kenwood 5 Channel Amplifier and Kicker subwoofer installed. This new amp and sub will provide a significant sound quality improvement over factory.
Note - this F150 was equipped with the Bang & Olufsen (B&O) audio system from Ford. There are two versions of the B&O audio, this is the base version and there is the "unleashed" version. This install works for both the Base and B&O unleashed audio trim levels.

I'd love to see an install in the new 2024 Ford Raptor F150 with the 14 speaker B&O, which I just got. It seems more complicated and just looking for some good guidance on how to incorporate all the speakers with the PAC/AMP/DSP.
Im thinking about doing this with my 23 Ford explorer with the 12 speakers b&o but leaving the speakers since it's a lease I'll decide if I want to finance it out after the lease. The b&o is terrible for a $55,000 vehicle

Do you know if the Pac AP4 you linked will work with 2020 Ford Explorer Platinum with the B&O audio system? It doesn't list it in the compatible vehicles, but in the description it says it works with Ford models with the B&O systems.

Do you still have to use a DSP with pac ap4 or is it considered a DSP like zen a2b

I have the exact same alpine speakers and pac amppro my question is how did you wire the front components to the amp ? , my amp is a 4 channel 250 X 4 and didn’t think bridging was good due to the 450 watts per channel for the front. Great video btw I’ve done it almost the exact same as this set up on my 21 lariat. Thanks
Door speakers are powered through the t harness, and we ran separate speaker runs for the tweeters

my 2019 Ford F-250 is amplified with the B&O system, will the FD31 kit work or no?
I understand if you don't want to publicly say this, for competition reasons (Even though quality will obviously suffer whoever undercuts you), but 'about' how much do you charge for this job? Basically Labor cost if all parts/accessories are included from a customer ofc.
I have a lighting. Do you have to get behind the 15 inch screen to plug in T harness? Does this eliminate the bass roll off? Also is the install fully reversible?
If you have B&O, you will need to use the install parts shown in the video. If you don't have B&O, I'm literally uploading a video today of a non B&O trim amp and sub install video that allows you to use a T harness behind the radio. lightning or gas, it's the same process.

@@LongNguyen-jo1pd yes I finished my install. I did a 4 channel and a 2 channel amp. I used the PAC module to replace the factory amp/DSP
Does the factory battery need to be upgraded if i use a bigger amp then what you have here? I wamt to use a 2000W amp and a separate 4 channel. Is the stock battery ok for that?
Getting ready a similar install using the XR901-5 which has a bass knob.
Is it better to use the Kenwood knob or one provided with the AmpPro?
I had that in a f150, very unimpressed, the solobaricL7T is lightyears better.

Is the center channel powered from the radio? I see you didn't hook the center channel to your amp.
That doesn’t change the ohms when you connect the tweeter with speaker on the same channel?
If I install aftermarket tweeters, do I need to run crossover with this set up?
All depends on the tweeters.
Gotcha. So on this system, there is an extra wire on each of the front speaker outputs which is run directly to the tweeters?

If my sub amp has it's own bass knob can I use it or am I stuck with using the PAC module bass knob? Or both?
If you don't use the pac knob, you still need to plug it in, just do so, volume all the way up, and just stash it wherever you like. Still needs to be connected, just out of sight. Then use your own bass knob.
What you do think will sound better in a 2020 tundra Crewmax. Two ten inch shallow subs or 3-4 6.5in subs?
You get more cone surface area with two 10's vs four 6.5". If you go with four 8", you will get more output (box permitting). Also, forward firing vs downfiring are two different elements to also consider.
The video description says it'll work on a 24 but the instructions say 22. Will this work on a 23?

Absolutely, we have lots of videos on that, both with B&O, and non B&O audio systems on the channel.
Thanks again for this video, its just what i needed for the install. If upgrading fronts and tweeters that come with crossover filters, do you wire the crossovers right off the radio T-harness or new tweeter amplifier output wires? what should you do with the abandoned factory tweeter wires? 2020 lariat w/ B&O
Depends on what speakers you are using for your install. Depends on how those crossovers need to be wired. We used alpine speakers with their own inline crossovers so those were installed at the speaker. If you have a speaker set with a shared crossover, and have the bypassed B&O system, since you have to run speaker wire anyways to the tweeters, you could put the tweeter crossovers in the rear by the amp rack. Crossovers just need to be between the amplifier and the speaker.
@@ProvoBeastAudioI came here to ask this same question. I am looking at focals which usually have one set of wires running into the crossover. And then the crossover splits the signal and has 2 sets of wires coming out of them, one to the woofer and one to the tweeter. How would this be wired in this situation? Could they just be wired off the tweeter wires and just leave the woofer portion not hooked up?
Would you need to upgrade the Alternator in the vehicle with this setup?
Nope, just a health battery and potentially a "big-3 upgrade" is all that is needed.
