$1799.00 for a flat panel radio. Um, no.
That's pretty badass but the price is insane. Not to mention the one thing I love about my lariat 502 is the heated and cooled seat buttons right below the HVAC section. I HATED my wife's grand Cherokee where you had to go scrolling through freaking menus just to turn on the heated and cooled seats. So no thank you.

I completely agree. I recently purchased a 2020 F150, and the one thing I really like about it is the radio and climate control have physical buttons and dials. As far as the factory stereo audio quality, it sounds.....factory. I intend to do an upgrade, but I'm not getting rid of the factory head unit. Fortunately, line level converter technology has come a long way, so that's the planned course. I don't need to be fumbling through touch menus when I simply want to adjust the volume or the ac temp. Sometimes simpler really is better.

Well let me tell you I have a 2016 fx4 and have a really good line converter and it sounds good but still feels like its missing something that I've had on all my others w/o using the line converter. I'm just not happy going that route I need more lol
agreed, what a pain to dial the temp with a touch screen, I just want to turn a knob, in fact, it annoys me that there are up and down buttons for fan speed, i'd rather have the pass temp dial be the fan speed and forgo the dual-zone control. I don't want to have to look to do stuff like that. I get it for navigation and media control where there can be dynamic interfaces but AC should be a static, physical control, in my mind.
I had the old MyTouch system in a 2013 F150 Platinum and not having the buttons sucked because the damn screen kept crashing and God forbid Ford would back up their warranty for anything🙄
Hey everyone, GUAutoTech is going to be releasing a version 2 of this unit in June that will install the same as version 1, but it has a few updated features. I'll be doing my review on the V2 model when it comes out so hang tight and we'll get the review going as soon as we get our hands on it!

Pro Tip: Always use painter tape on thrim piece edges, like along the vents and HU and vacuum panel when removing to avoid scratches and paint chips!
That black trim around the new HU looks outta place being black, but the whole interior is dated! Also 1800.00 for that Chinese thing and only a 2 yr warranty... lmao, yeah don't think soo.
I don't understand this mentality. Do you people want these vehicles refreshed every 2 years? That just drives cost up and reduces quality controlling. I've also noticed that people who make these comments don't even own a 2015+ f150.

But that's just my opinion and I'm sure you'll thinks it sucks right? Mate... and for the record I own a 2018 lariat.

Why do these aftermarket radio reviews / installs skip showing the camera view especially the 360.
My main hesitation other than the loss of physical HVAC controls, is what will the cameras look like with the new screen.

It’s is probably just me but having real buttons in my opinion are over all more useful over time. I got a pretty low end 2016 f150 XLT sport has everything I need and the 8” screen is just the right size. 12” is way to much in my eyes, just doesn’t feel safe to much looking down to hit something instead of feeling around for like a nob or button.

Does it have an option to add an aftermarket reverse cam to it per say if you have an xlt model and would like to add a reverse cam?
One suggestion is put down a towel to help protect console from scratches !

Wow, wish Ford had put this size screen on their trucks! The ONLY thing I saw I didn't like was that the A/C controls were on the screen. I much prefer actual knobs/buttons for them. I fond that on screen A/C controls are distracting while driving and inconvenient.
GPS location was not accurate. Did the reset....works like new. Thank you!!!

Yeah go drop 1800 on a stupid screen, great idea 👍🏻. Search for the Phoenix 12.1 touchscreen it’s only 700 and it’s identical to this one and installs just as easy. FYI.
GU Auto Tech has told us there is an updated Gen 2 version that will come out in the next few months, stay tuned for an update and review on Gen 2!
Could you walk through the software on the station as well in the next video. Or do that as a separate video in addition to the install. Would like to see what the various screen user interfaces look like. How customizable is the display? Does it have Android Auto capability (The description only mentions Apple Car Play)
Hopefully they will think about how overpriced this Gen 1 is and maybe make Gen 2 a little easier on people’s wallets, what a joke this thing is which cost 1800. That’s just insanely overpriced in my opinion specially when you can get the Phoenix 12.1 touchscreen that does exactly what this one does and is just as East to install for only 700, now that’s a more fair price in my opinion. It just blows me away that this thing cost more then a set of automatic steps and people are that stupid to buy it. Goes to show you how smart people are.

So does this give regular F150's with analog knobs a climate control system where you can set it to a specific temperature?
I have a 2016 F150 XLT with a 302 package some of the touchscreens out there doesn’t work with XM satellite radio and stuff does this one work with XM radio
I don't mind the look of this one, BUT I think PheonixRadio has a much better design.. it keeps factory knobs and buttons that this one removes, but yet the Pheonix one is 13 inches big.. it fits the dash nicer, and fills it in more.
All up to personal preference but just putting it out there for people to know!

i am seriously disapointed about these people, why cant they just develop some apps to run on an ipad or a proper android tablet? an ipad is seriously cheaper and faster, plus there are cellular models and you recieve regular updates, this GU unit in this video only runs on android 6 its a shame
The video shows an option to select the B&O sound system but when you click the link to buy it, your website says that this is not compatible with the 2018s and up with the B&O. Is there a unit that is compatible?

Good question, I was confused by this too. I asked GUA and they said "The current version, "V1", is not compatible with the B&O sound system. A B&O compatible version will be out in June 2020."

Wesley if you are worried about the unit affecting factory features I would try the Phoenix Automotive brand . That brand uses the factory sync module, Radio and climate controls and allows access to the factory interface right on the screen. You can actually switch back and forth between the default Ford features and the after market features.

i fitted this step by step to my raptor 2019, but the sound goes from only the 2 small speakers in the front not the whole car speakers. i tried all setting with no success
Me too. Did you get it resolved? I just did install mine and the sound only comes from the two small speakers infront. Not bass or woofer

As more and more comes out for the ranger we'll do our best to install as much as we can, we'll be looking at some stereo options soon!

Would be a good product for my limited, but no massage seat option and Sirius radio doesn't work on it. You have to listen to it through your phone, which is a bummer considering the fact that you're paying an arm and a leg for it.
There are more features we're hoping they'll add to the gen 2 version!

A friend of mine bought this a year ago. Would not recommend. Long boot up times and thing just seemed to get very slow during cold weather. He replaced this unit with something else.

This isn’t an upgrade, this is needed , that’s screen that comes with the truck is awful and freezes and stop working in cold weather.

Unfortunately this kit is only for 15+ model F150's
The one thing I didn't hear mentioned in this video was whether or not this unit has line level outputs. If it doesn't, and this is obviously a matter of opinion, then installing this unit is a waste of time and money. The whole idea of replacing the factory head unit is to gain line level outputs to run to an amp. For the price of this thing, it absolutely should have line out capability.

You should be explaining what each connector is for when you are installing it. not calling them "this connector and that connector". makes the install seem more confusing.
I definitely get what you mean, but it's an "easier said than done" situation. We didn't get instructions with this kit and I don't have Ford's factory harness and connectors memorized so I did the best I could with the time I was given. I appreciate the feedback nonetheless and thanks for watching!
So after fixing mine. Everything works except the audio. Sound just plays from the small tweeters in the door way but no base from front door speakers or rear door speakers. What did I do wrong? My truck is 2019 F150 lariat 3.5L Ecoboost. Please help me
I was interested till I went to the GUAutotech website and they said the satellite radio won’t work with this unit.
Would would be the benefit to install this over using the factory install for a 2019 platinum? Does it give you any added features?

This makes no sense. You have parts listed for a Ford Taurus but you have no parts listing for a 2016 Ford Escape Titanium. This is a missed calling in my opinion. The Ford Escapes are the number one rated SUV's in the market today.

My only question is why are you sitting in the drivers seat? The other seat doesn't have a steering wheel that you have to work around.
Good question. Just easier to get different camera angles and position lights without the steering wheel getting in the way or casting shadows. Definitely sit in the passenger seat if you're doing it at home.

My truck comes with a standard back up camera will this unit automatically recognize and work with it when I put the truck into reverse?
How does it fare with Apple car play? I have the worst aftermarket head unit in my ‘12 tundra. If you had a kit for my truck, I’d get one in a NY minute. Great product.
