Wayne: the Vit d3 dosage, [and I would always take K2 at the same time] depends on body weight and what you want to achieve. 2000 iu sound a lot but it isn’t, I’m currently 12,000 iu of D3 and the similar for K2 with Mg & Zn. Vit D3 is fat soluble so it tends to go into the body’s fat cells preferentially, so it can take some time, 2 to 3 months to get the blood levels significantly up, but depends on your starting point.
I've taken 30,000 IU a day for over a year and have not gotten sick/ I had a heart valve replaced at the Cleveland Clinic and they sent me home with a 50,000 IU to take ONCE A WEEK! Clearly not enough!
Are costco's vitamin ingredients of real quality? I am reading into the British supplements company and they seem to be against some of the ingredients that costco use

My blood levels are nearing the peak maximum. However when I mentioned the symptoms to my pharmacist she leaned toward my D3 being the cause. So obviously I'm a bit concerned about too much for too long.
To get clarity, have your vitamin D level measured and also your calcium level. Then you will be one step further. Otherwise, are you also taking magnesium and vitamin K2?
You could probably UA-cam and stream Gary Noll and his experience with a mislabeled product that was of his design that contained an almost lethal dose of vitamin D which is a product key made or had manufactured and that he took that that unknowingly had this large massive dose of vitamin D per serving.
I always wonder why if Vitamin D is so important why it's so difficult to obtain..you read time and again how so many are deficient and how hard it is to get enough..even thru sun exposure and diet..why if it's so difficult we supposedly need such exorbitant amounts to be healthy....
Functions that are not so important tend to be lost in evolution. However, all animals and plants on earth has synthesized vitamin D from the beginning of life and still are. But we evolved to live outside the entire day, nowdays people are not outside as much, but live indoors.
@@johnnafarrell3336 Vit D increases calcium abosrption. Vitamin K2 makes sure it goes to the proper place i.e. bones etc rather than forming calcified lumps. Apparently, sometimes a person who takes plenty of D but is not getting enough K2 will get bone spurs, artery calcification, etc just from the D
When I first tested about 25 years ago, my blood level was 19 ng/ml and I was surfing a couple times/week and walking in short sleeves etc daily. Soon as I started supplementing to just above mid-"normal" range I stopped getting colds and flu which I gotten at least one each of every year prior to that. I've not been sick since except a very mild case of Covid a couple of weeks ago. It takes me 10,000 i.u. daily to get to proper level
Many take vitamin D3 wrong and without Magnesium. Vitamine D and Magnesium are synergetic. Some report no effect using Vitamine D because they are low on Magnesium.
@@maciekjarek2248 Well that is not an easy question to answer as you have to consider your current health state and stuff like how often do you go outdoors and go in the sun. I think my dad takes about 20k of D3 but the rule of thumb is take 1k of D3 for every 10kg of your body weight. Of course when you feel sick you can make it a bit higher like for example if you take 10k a day, you can take 13 or 15 a day. But my dad does 20k at below 100kg and he’s fine lol just make sure to take a lot of K2MK7 preferably with that (u don’t remember exactly how much K2 he takes). But just to be safe do 1k of D3 per 10kg of bod weight with K2
As others stated, magnesium oxide is not the best form because it is not very well absorbed by body. It may also cause diarrhea as a result of that. Glycinate, l-threonate (Magtein), and taurate are all great forms of magnesium that are very well absorbed and avoid causing an upset stomach.
While some studies suggest 10,000 IU/day of vitamin D may be safe for adults, it's important to note that the recommended upper limit is 4,000 IU/day. Higher doses can potentially lead to vitamin D toxicity, causing hypercalcemia and other health issues. Always consult a healthcare provider before taking high-dose supplements, as individual needs vary based on factors like body weight and sun exposure.
You said “the recommended.” Then why is it that nearly every Dr interviewed said that is extremely old data that has not been updated. I am certainly not saying this doctor here is God, but listen to what he says.
Keeping you body running smoothly requires a balancing act. You can't just load down your system with one vitamin or mineral without taking others to compensate for the shock. Taking loads of D3 without also taking Magnesium and K2 is asking for calcium buildup in all the wrong places
D toxicity is not the main concern. The problem may be that high vitamin D supplementation will wipe out your Vitamin A and Vitamin K2 leaving you feeling lousy and compromising your immune system. Better to get your D from natural sources that are in the right balance like Cod Liver Oil, beef and chicken liver, pastured eggs yolks, high quality butter and Raw Milk products. If you live in a place with good direct sunlight, D from sunshine.
It’s impossible to get enough living in northern places like Canada. Food barely has any Vit d compared to the sun or supplements. We probably aren’t designed to live too far from the equator. We have no fur. Plus god never gave us clothing, it was made by humans so that is also stopping absorption. The amount of Vit D you have to take to block Vit A is a huge amount. Otherwise jobs like lifeguards who have very high levels of Vitamin D would be deficient in Vit A.
@Marcinmd1 Vitamin D from food is not sufficient in practice, unless you eat at least 500 g of oily sea fish every day (including heavy metals) or take approx. 50 ml of cod liver oil every day (‘bon appétit’) and unfortunately practice also shows that spending time in the (midday) sun is insufficient, otherwise so many people would not have a vitamin D deficiency.
I'm a Dr. Gundry fan. I tried yesterday a 4,000 IU vitamin D pill, but shortly after, I turned green and became very nauseous and weak. After night's sleep I felt better but still felt weak and unwell in the morning. So I'm wondering if the 4000 dose is just too high for me...
If you have a vitamin D deficiency and then start taking a "larger" amount of vitamin D, you may experience unpleasant side effects such as nausea, headaches, muscular problems, feeling hyper, palpitations. The reason for this is often that the body is deprived of magnesium by taking vitamin D, because vitamin D absolutely needs magnesium for its own conversion and activation. It is therefore possible that your body does not have enough magnesium available for normal metabolic processes and the unpleasant side effects described above occur. For this reason, magnesium is the most important cofactor of vitamin D. So simply take magnesium, preferably in the bioactive form citrate or glycinate, in smaller doses throughout the day (daily amount 300 to 700 mg, distributed in small doses). If the side effects persist, first top up the stores with magnesium for a few days and then continue with vitamin D in smaller doses, then increase. Vitamin K2 is also useful, but for other reasons. All the best for you.
@@Fitundgesund100 That's really interesting thank you. I take a regular multi-vitamin which has 100mg of magnesium. I'll investigate increasing the magnesium and gradually increasing the vitamin D.
it's not too high, in france we take 100 000 directly every 3 months, which is not enough and no side effects change brand or change source, it's also never only vitamin D there are oils and stuff you might not digest or else in it, and if nothing works go to the sun for a while everyday with sun protection, it's vital and plenty
@markg2228 If you can clearly attribute the side effects to vitamin D, then in my opinion the question is: Are you also taking the most important cofactor of vitamin D, magnesium? Because vitamin D needs magnesium for its own conversion and activation, the body's stores are usually not sufficient.
The side effect is low magnesium deficiency…and believe you me….I’m a test dummy…..and know that there is no side effects in less your lacking magnesium…
Great info from you Dr. Gundry, but why in the world you wear such ridiculous eye glasses....looks to me more like for a woman, but as well, even ridiculous for them!

TEST DON'T GUESS! and always take Vitamin K2 along with.
Why?
@@johnnafarrell3336 Vit D increases calcium abosrption. Vitamin K2 makes sure it goes to the proper place i.e. bones etc rather than forming calcified lumps. Apparently, sometimes a person who takes plenty of D but is not getting enough K2 will get bone spurs, artery calcification, etc just from the D
@@geoffreylevens9045 Vit D does way more than just calcium
@@steve00alt70 gee-whiz really?
Also K2. If you don’t take K2 with D3 you can have kidney stones and kidney problems because of the calcium
Allot of people who are low in vitamin d are essentially low in magnesium but mistake it for vitamin d.
Is it save to take 20 k of vitamin D 3 + k2?
@@maciekjarek2248 But do some research how much K2 you should take because I forgot
Can I Take Magnesium Oxide 500mg With D3 10000iu?
Magnesium Oxide will be helpful ?
Magnesium Oxide is horrible, take Glycinate.
Or magnesium citrate!
Not oxide
Yes agree
As others stated, magnesium oxide is not the best form because it is not very well absorbed by body. It may also cause diarrhea as a result of that. Glycinate, l-threonate (Magtein), and taurate are all great forms of magnesium that are very well absorbed and avoid causing an upset stomach.
Isn't there fillers in vit d
It must be used with vitamin K2. This prevents the build up of calcium in bloodstream and directs it to bones and teeth.
"Im not dead yet". Lmfao
Holy shit, thank you so much
Keeping you body running smoothly requires a balancing act.
@Marcinmd1
Vitamin D from food is not sufficient in practice, unless you eat at least 500 g of oily sea fish every day (including heavy metals) or take approx.
Old guy glasses are in again... 🤓
200,000 iu = 5 mg
Whenever I take 2000 vitamin D3 now product
my chest feels tight all the time or every time I take it
Sometimes mix it with magnesium
@markg2228
If you can clearly attribute the side effects to vitamin D, then in my opinion the question is: Are you also taking the most important cofactor of vitamin D, magnesium? Because vitamin D needs magnesium for its own conversion and activation, the body's stores are usually not sufficient.
Of Course it is Safe
What if my level ist at 130. can i keep takkng 10000 per day ?
That's a great question ⁉️ if optimal level is 40-60ng/ml then what's the benefit of anything higher than 60
“Optimal” is not a defined number. There is a lot out there that suggests optimal is actually 100.
10.000 or more per day
The side effect is low magnesium deficiency…and believe you me….I’m a test dummy…..and know that there is no side effects in less your lacking magnesium…
I cant find anything about this cleveland clinc or quest saying 150ng/ml Vitamin D level as normal. This sounds like some bad advice to me.
Ohh well thank god for your medical expertise!! 🤣🤣
Trust him Vitamin D is the best and 100 up is optimal.
I agree it does sound scary, did deeper and you see he is right.
I take 20 000 daily. I will Try 100 000.
I only take that much for short periods when I need it for something or other. But I get great results.

please don't write a book on vitamin D people are still trying to recover their health after your last one.
I am interested in which book by Dr Gundry you are referring to.
-.- THE SUN
When I was surfing several days/week I tested at 19 ng/ml. I take 10,000iu daily to maintain 70ng/ml. I go big if I feel I"m getting sick or have had heavy exposure.
People have no idea how long they actually have to stay in the sun to get enough d vitamin..and the darker skin you have the less d you produce.
