Years back I was sleepy 24/7 Would sleep 18 hours, wake up and make it to the couch and fall right back asleep. No matter how much I slept it felt like I hadn't slept at all. I also had horrible sleep paralysis. Got diagnosed with narcolepsy. It took almost a year and many doctors until one finally tested my vitamin D and they said I pretty much had none at all. Was put on 50,000ius a day for a week and was a new person. Then I took 5,000ius a day after that and was completely back to normal within a month. It saved my life.
@〝ѦƁↁεя〞 yeah it's weird because I was always outside enjoying the outdoors fishing or just relaxing at the beach but I still didn't have any vitamin D. Even now taking 5,000ius a day for years my bloodwork shows I'm borderline deficient but I'm way better and no longer tired all the time.
She is so excited. You can really tell she loves science. I love to see scientists who are extremely curious and actually love science and get excited to talk about it. I just love it.
Had a friend who was so deficient of Vit D she nearly died. Absolute exhaustion, weight loss, muscle weakness and when a lump on her next was discovered Dr's were convinced she had Lymphoma. Her bloods revieled she had practically no Vit D. Once she was given large supplements she was back on her feet in no time.
@@hhhhhss6955that’s what’s happening to me now. I just found a holistic doctor. She did notice I was losing weight within 4 weeks of seeing her. I’m so glad I found her when I did! I’m taking ADK10 everyday. It’s only been a week.
I am a cancer survivor of 37 years now. I have been taking vitamin D and a few other vitamins for over 20 years now and the last time I was sick was 1996 with the flu. I have not been sick since. I do not get the flu vaccine except in 2009 for the H1N1 and that was mandated by my employer as I worked in the home medical industry and visited up to 10 homes of sick and elderly a day.
What kind of Vitamin D? I'm a carnivore, plus milk and cheese, I think I'm at a sufficient level. How can I tell if I have a good level with out going to test at a doctor. What is the brand Joe is taking at 5,000 IUs?
I suffered chronic depression all my life but was too scared to get dependent on anti-depressants. I now take 6000u Vit D per day and my mood has never been better. And that was 10 months ago. It’s incredible
I'm in England and started having pains in my feet so bad it was difficult to get out of my van at the end of the day. Three months of mega Vit D tablets has seen me bouncing around like a puppy. To anyone reading this Get a vitamin D test a soon as you can, you will thank yourself.
Hey Guys Serious Question im Black and I Want to get on Vitamen D but what dosage should i get on?? I want 2 be on it daily.Would the 5000 be 2 much??Thx
Had been feeling like I could never wake up anymore and had pain in my teeth. Went to the dr, told me that my vitamin d was low. Started taking 2000 iu and it helped some. Dr checked it again 6 months later, said my vitamin D eas extremely low, had me take 5000 iu daily. Absolute night and day difference with energy and wakefulness.
@@cheapskateaquatics7103yeah.. don’t do that 😂.. 50k is safe if you have some genetic issues that don’t allow you to absorb it optimally. Stay at 5000IU if you don’t know if you have any genetic issues. Because that’s enough.
My husband was having anxiety attacks and was super depressed out of nowhere. Got his blood tested. He was severely Vit D deficient. Once he started taking D3 for a week he was almost completely back to normal. So we all got checked, every one of us was deficient and we live in Florida.
@@isetyourfriendsonfire Thank you! Interesting, that doesn't even sound like that much, it's what dr. Rhonda was taking daily after she tested and determined her D3 levels to be ok already.
When I had breast cancer a few years ago I came across a study showing an extremely high correlation all over the world between breast cancer and vitamin D deficiency, and an exponentially higher rate of breast cancer and vitamin D deficiency in the British Afro Carribean population. I started taking vitamin D during my treatment, and my tumours completely disappeared during chemo, even before surgery or radiotherapy. My doctor told me that they were using me as the text book case study of how their new approach to using chemo first (rather than surgery first) works. But I'm convinced it was the vitamin D, and I take high levels of vitamin D supplements to this day.
I am an African American woman, over 50, asthmatic since adolescence, overweight from decades of prednisone. I am hospitalized with horrible lung infections and bronchitis every time I get a cold from my young kids (we had our kids later in life). I started taking 10,000 IUs of D3 a couple of years ago, and it seems to be providing better protection than the inhaled steroids. It’s almost miraculous. Contracted COVID in January of 2021, and survived without hospitalization. Fully vaccinated and boosted, still caught COVID in January of 2022, and it was extremely mild with no lung damage. I believe the high doses of Vitamin D3 have saved my life.
You’re American Woman. Africa is not a race, unless you were born there or hold citizenship, you’re not African. Might as well call every white American, “European American”
In the 1940s rheumatoid arthritis was treated in some trials with 250,000 UIs of vitamin D3 every day, none of them suffered vitamin D "toxicity". The body has very effective and safe ways of getting rid of excess vitamin D if there is any.
I discovered nearly a year ago that my vitamin D levels were extraordinarily low. I'm a redhead and I live in Arizona, so I avoid going outside, especially when it's sunny (which, for this state, is most of the time). I got started on an vitamin D supplement, the same amount Joe is taking, 5,000 IUs. And it dramatically changed my life. I'd been dealing with depression for most of my adult life; gone. I'd been dealing with severe nerve pain; gone. My mental faculties felt like they were finally working properly again. I could control my temper, which had been an issue for years. As it turns out, vitamin D plays a lot of roles in your system, and if you are deficient, it can cause serious issues. Not just physical, but mental and emotional problems. That blood test was the smartest thing I've ever done. $120 out of pocket for a slew of tests that were important, and it changed my life for the better.
That is great news, thanks for sharing. Same here, about the test. I suspected I was deficient for years, with similar symptoms like you, and more besides. Wanted to take the test but never did for laziness and various other reasons. Just found out on Friday I have low levels (more insufficient than deficient). Will see my Dr on Tuesday and we'll see how he suggests to deal with it.
@DerOldHerr Sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about. Just a simple google search would show you what you said is not correct. you're probably just a troll.
@DerOldHerr Good lord! Won't you give it a rest. There are many reasons why what you just said may not apply to everyone. Even if they stay in the sun all day long their bodies might not create enough of Vitamin D: letmegooglethat.com/?q=Causes+for+vitamin+d+deficiency letmegooglethat.com/?q=Percentage+of+world+population+with+vitamin+d+deficiency
Taking D3 reversed a diabetic diagnosis for me.. my endocrinologist laughed at me when I told him that was the only change I made. A year later I read an article from the Mayo Clinic about a study they had done on the effects of D3 on people with a pre-diabetic diagnosis. I sent him the article.
The Mayo Clinic were world leaders in rigging research results to destroy the careers of any doctor or group that wee showing any benefits from vitamins.
@@whitegoodman7465 ... maybe some, but i don't think most. That's a bit cynical and the type of attitude that has partly contributed to our Covid catastrophe- because it's that attitude that has huge numbers of people ignoring doctors even when they are correct, like with wearing a mask. not to say they're ways correct- 4 sure. but it's a bit offensive to say Covid hospital doctors - just like those in war zones - don't care, while in reality they are making huge sacrifices, making huge contributions, suffering emotionally because they care, and many are exhibiting selflessness and unconditional love
I have a suffered from psoriasis for years and did Uv light therapy and creams and all kinds of things, one day I really thought that the lack of sunlight that was being administered through UV therapy was just a lack of vitamin d. So I started taking 3 vitamin d pills daily and saw significant improvement in my psoriasis in 2-3months with out any other treatment. Hope this helps ppl with similar circumstances.
She seems so intelligent. I just immediately find myself agreeing with her and amazed by her ability to rattle off facts and studies so effortlessly. Kinda girl crushing on her a bit.
As a black dude living in the UK, I can confirm taking vitamin D changed my life. I usually don't take it in the summer, but I think I may start taking it all year around
DopamineMVWM Yes sir. Black people are susceptible to vitamin d deficits because of the abundance of their melanin. I would take 10,000 iu daily year round. You will definitely notice a difference.
What i do as a black person is use my melanin to my advantage. I stay in the sun all day, just 1-2 days a week. I just read, walk, watch Netflix no sunscreen. Bc that slows the absorption through the skin for everyone. I won't get cancer or get burned. so I just hang out. Drink lemonade. And my levels are optimal. This way I get everything I need in one day. Supplements can linger in the body and cause you problems later. Look it up. A good nap in the sun is everything. Wake up and the sun is down, you are charged up like a battery.
Lester Lester I hear what you’re saying, but me as a very active person who is outside all the time, I can promise you, you will never get anywhere near enough vitamin D if you’re high up in the northern hemisphere without vitamin D supplements. I really recommend that you get on that shit. Just consider for a second the fact that our ancestors were outside ALL the time and yet they were still so goddamn vitamin D deficient that they evolved to have WHITE SKIN, that’s fucking insane! It just shows how crucial vitamin D is and how effective melanin is at blocking it out.
@@DopamineMVWM I live near DC. I birthed twins and I was never deficient. And they were feeding on me the entire time taking my nutrients for them. Lol What you are forgetting is how your body is also efficient at storing things you need for later.this means having good habits in the sun can literally prepare you for the winter when you will be out less. So yes you have to eat well, do somethings you would sit around and do in a/c outside. I have built up good habits/lifestyle for years regarding being outside. Therefore I have built up a storage of vitamin D. I must admit I do have a sweet job, I work in the park for 8 hours in the sun. Nap and dine in the sun on weekends and my stress level is pretty low. You helped me realize that even among black people, different people need different amounts. Stress can zap your vitamin D. Someone could be going through something that might cause you to need more and supplements might be necessary for them. But I encourage those who are younger to start these habits bc by me spending years leisurely in the sun has allowed me to develop enough to store for bad times. And my diet is pretty good too. But please take K with your D, bc the excess calcium from D will cause you problems with mobility later in life . Look it up. Be well and Take care!
My boyfriend's father has scarring in his lungs from being a volunteer firefighter and park ranger in Oregon/California for decades, and when he was in the sick and injured in the hospital they put him on a breathing machine which shredded his lungs apart. He died soon after. They should've known better. My boyfriend was a state away with no money and no phone when it happened. Really sad.
To be super honest, I had lots of sleep issues throughout the year, but since my doctor and nutritionist suggested that I consume magnesium and vitamin d supplements, my sleep has massively changed in a positive way
consider also taking magnesium. higher dosage of vitamin d can make you magnesium deficient because i takes some magnesium that is in your body to function.
You can definitely explain it lol, when you dont take it you are likely deficient because your lifestyle predisposes you to deficiency in some way (no sun) and when you do take it you are not deficient and your body works properly /s
I’m black and my doctor was amazed that my vitamin D was high. I don’t eat processed carbs and do keto. My HDL is also at a high level. She is very right. I never caught the big C-19
I've had problems with my skin for the last couple of years and I recently got a blood test that said I had a bit low vitamin D and white antibodies. Now I started taking D-vitamin supplements and my skin is getting better.
Vitamin D was suspected from the start in regards to how severe you get covid. Rogan was right, the lungs are already messed up, intubation was the appropriate intervention. Source: i work in the icu with covid patients since the start of the pandemic.
@@xCestLaVie1 the data actually now doesnt show it as that important of a marker anymore. Covid hit plenty of regions with high UV radiation and vitamin d levels as well. There is plenty of data to show loss of life and severe illness in those with normal vitamin d levels. In the beginning it hit mostly the parts of the world with less sun exposure but later during the pandemic it equally was destructive in the rest of the world that gets plenty of sun. Reverse causation is a huge problem with this woman and her claims.
Right? When I saw this last I started taking the vitamins she described, caught COVID during Christmas 2020, and I believe it saved my life. My Dad and Brother died this past Feb and March to COVID though. 😞
I'm a very fair skinned white man in England. I work in an office for 60+ hours a week so I don't get much sunlight. I've been supplimenting D3 at 10,000ui for about 2 years now with a magnesium suppliment (magnesium is a co-factor for D3 as it helps to activate the use of D3 in cells). I've had no hmm side effects from this. I have arthritis in my hands and fingers = gone after 1 month of the D3. When I started I was suffering from depression - totally lifted my mood. If I miss it for 3 or 4 days I find my mood drops and anxiety increases. I've not had a cold or anything like that in 2 years, despite people around me at work getting covid again recently (although I've had 1 jab and 2 boosters since they came out). I'm a strong believer in this.
I am from India, I have always been very healthy in my life until I moved to Germany. I have been living in Germany for 4 years, in my 2nd year, I started to get various symptoms like muscle spasms, muscle twitching, tinnitus, hypnic jerks, severe acid reflux which later turned into GERD and small hiatal hernia. I could not sleep because of anxiety, got really depressed. German doctors tried various medications on me, but my symptoms didn't get better. I went back to India, after hearing my symptoms, the first thing my doctor did in India was to get me started on vitamin D3 60000IU every bi-weekly. It solved most of my problems. German doctors could not figure out the root cause of my problem.
When COVID 19 broke out all the shelves of my local Vitamin Shoppe were cleared of Vitamin C cuz that's what we laymen associate with good health. Meanwhile the vitamin D was fully stocked.

My Vit-D level was 34 when COVID started and so I started talking 10,000 a day for about 6 months. Now it’s @ 70. So now I just take 3,000 a day I feel safe at this level. I am 70 years old, also I always wash my hands, always have. If you must touch your face use a tissue or piece of cloth like your t-shirt. Good luck everyone, oh yeah, eat less sugar too, exercise and take up a spiritual practice. Smile and be happy 🖖🏼❤️
Hey there hope you all doing great 😊 Quick question, is there any follow up to this conversation? Like in this last year or so..... isn't it just so exciting to get to know more important stuff about our bodies & how 8t all works!! 🤩
I was severely vitamin d deficient for the last 2 years. I was sleepy all day, my memory was extremely cloudy and I felt like the Walking Dead. 50,000 iu’s weekly and 6 months later, I feel like I did when I was in high school, full of vigor.
@Daniel, the 50,000 iu gel cap is a single dose that is by prescription only and taken once a week. My vitamin D levels were 18 in November 2019. I tested 3 weeks ago and they’re now at 75. I feel awesome. My doc now wants me to start taking 5,000 iu’s daily as a maintenance dose.
My doc said my level is “very low” at 27 ( even with the low dose vit d3 k2 I’d being taken) She told me I need to start taking 10,000 IU of vitamin D three with K2 for the next month daily.
@@SirManDudeGuy1 essentially what he means is mainstream media is dying. Print media have to beg for subscription monetization, cable TV is more sensationalistic than a soap opera and don't hold politicians to accountable let alone provide truthful, helpful, accurate source of information. News is entertainment now rather than factual and we don't need that during a pandemic.
If the MSM wasn’t so corrupt & such obviously liars & agenda driven, we all wouldn’t have had to search for alternative news. I’ll NEVER go back to watching MSM. They’ve lost ALL credibility & integrity!
I work in an OBGYN office and our treating physician tests all pregnant women for their Vit D3 levels. I have only seen ONE woman who had a normal level. ONE! And I’ve been there 2 years. It’s crazy.
Joe saved my life. I started taking 10,000 a day 6 months later when I got covid I was still low. Doctors told me it was fortunate I was taking vitamin d.
Brown lady here. Hates being outside. Hates summertime. Hates the beach. Always inside. I don't wear shorts/short sleeves. I'm religious about sunscreen mainly for the anti-aging benefits. I'm literally a moon worshipper. Lol I was so deficient in Vitamin D, my dr put me on 50,000 IU's every week (1 pill every week via prescription). My level was an 18! The year before 8! I knew something was wrong. I just didn't "feel right" in my body. After 3 weeks...Im sleeping again.
Dude….I just found out today I’m deficient and thinking back to both times I had Covid, I felt like I was dying. My breathing was so bad…my partner was so scared for me. I’ve had nonstop sinus infections for 2 years now, complete sinus surgery (8 hours) and the infections persist. And I’m not talking about a little bit of sinus congestion, mine always turn into bronchitis or pneumonia. Antibiotics help but within a week of finishing them the infection is back. After my last go with Covid, I suffered with major breathing problems. I was put on symbicort. No one fkn checked my blood for vitamin d until I started showing symptoms of lupus, as it runs in my family. I go to a rheumatologist and she was the one who ran ALL the tests. 8 vials of blood, pee and a chest X-ray. Vitamin D deficiency. I have other health problems that have popped up over the last 2 years and I strongly believe this is why. I haven’t been able to go in the sun either bc of lupus like skin rashes, caused by sun exposure. I cannot thank the algorithm enough for putting this video in my feed today. Joe you’re the best. Same with your pretty guest. ☺️
Gotta say this, as a parent, I had a baby girl and I began to get sick a lot! 3 months of constantly getting sick, me and my wife together. Started taking vitamin D and thank God, I stopped getting sick immediately, there is truth to this. Take your vitamin D people!
So accurate. Honestly a woman with this much wealth of knowledge should be world renown and in a much higher, more recognized position than any media figure.
I was super blond as a kid, brown hair now, fair white skinned and can burn. From overcast Austria, now living 20 years in super sunny Las Vegas, in my 40s. 2015 bought a 2 story house. Moved in, could get up first 5 stairs, struggled with next 15 or so. Was always super tired, around noon just hung in there trying to staying awake. Slept 8 hours, still no energy. Thought the moving broke me? Went to doc, blood work, had extreme Vitamin D deficiency. He said i would experience extreme fatigue and short term memory loss. He was so right! I backed my business bus up, saw a car behind me, but ran right into it having forgotten about it being there. Made a wde turn into my driveway and ended up not moving as i banged into my neighbors car forgotten it was there, just tired, plus sun was in my eyes. Many dumb mistakes and memory glitches. Started to take 10k units of D for 7 years now. All symptoms improved fast, regained energy and short term memory back. 2020 had elevated V D, doc said to reduce intake. Got Covid April 2022 right when mask mandate dropped now on less around 5k units D. Wasnt bad, 3 days fever but fatigue and longer cough prevailed. I swear by vitamin D and will always supplement. How one Vitamin can screw up my energy and memory so bad is amazing to see how the body needs a full balance to function. Pescatarian for 5 plus years now. Best energy levels where at start of my new diet, only needed 4 to 5 h of sleep, still not sleeping much more than that now. You are what you eat.
I miss Dr. Rhonda Patrick coming onto JRE. I tried watching her podcast but it’s a little more detail than I can follow. I feel like Joe did a great job of jumping on and off topic enough to keep my ADD brain engaged with her powerful information.
I got WAAAAY more sunlight under lock down. I was lucky enough to be able to work from home...so I went from a windowless office 10 hours a day to a well lit living room. Also I spent my breaks walking my dog. I was way fucking healthier on lockdown than being locked in a cubicle dungeon.
Get out from the glass...windows block UV, but the warm feeling you think is sunshine coming through is actually infra red waves that isn’t filtered by the glass molecules
I'm brownskin and from NYC where winters are long and summers are short as hell. I went to the doctor for a regular checkup and was told I was so vitamin D deficient it was making my bones weak. I took a strong prescription and it changed my life. I even see drastic changes in my mood with and without it. It's so important for ppl who don't live in sunny environments especially with lots of melanin.
My Dad developed ALS in about 2000. He showed me how the nerves were firing and dying. He passed in 2003. A few years after his death, I noticed that I was having little nerve spasms just under my skin. I panicked and made a doctors appointment. Went to a specialist and found out I had almost no vitamin D in my body. I took 5000 units a day and was fine.
How low was your D level? Mine was recently 5 and I feel like absolute crap. I have so many symptoms…too many to bother texting here but basically all of them. Ugh
Keep taking it and get it checked regularly. Also, you need magnesium to activate vitamin D. There are different forms of magnesium supplements, if you get some, don’t cheap out. The cheaper magnesium supplements are not absorbed very well if at all. Magnesium Glycinate is a good one.
Started vit d3 5 years ago for anxiety as suggested by my therapist. Not sure but I haven't seen my therapist for 5 years. Haven't had a panic attack in 5 years after suffering with them for 20 years. So I can't 100% say its vit D, but I'll never quit taking it. Also wise to take d3/k2 together as the k2 helps the d3 get to where it needs to go. I also suggest Magnesium.
Cod liver oil has active A, D, and K2. Though A and D compete for absorption. I take beef liver pills and eat mixed nuts in the morning and D + K2 in the evenings.
I was severily vitamin D deficient. Before finding this I was suffeirng from depression and generalized somatised anxiety and. I did all blood work, cardiology and nephrology tests possible. 2 years of pain and immense stress. One day a cardiologist ask me to do some vitamin tests. Potassiu, Magnesium and Vitamin D (25 hydro). All OK but the vitamin D was 14. This is bad because normal is 40-70. I work for years inside an office and I do not have time to go outside. I eat healthy and I was considering it is enough. It was not,. The sun is irreplaceable. I received a prescription for 4k units per day for few months. Guess what: My depression is no more. My anxiety is SO MUCH BETTER. My heart palpitations are gone. No more panic attacks! I feel optimistic. GOD BLESS THAT DOCTOR AND THE VITAMIN D!
10 years ago started taking 10,000 IU Vit D3 daily. In the 10 years before this I had 3 flus a year, and a cold every other year. Since my taking it, until Covid in Jan 2020, I've had 0 flus or colds, and the Covid was a very bad flu, but I never considered hospitalization: even though I was 73, almost obese, and had a lung infection. My blood test showed 50ng/ml Vit D. Any doctor who doesn't recommend this is not putting their patients health 1st as all the epidemiological evidence shows recommended levels of Vit D prevent death, though not catching flus. Its also cheap (may be a factor) and extremely safe in high doses (unlike Vit D2, which gave Vit D supplements a bad rep).
My wife's sister is a doctor. She told us to start taking vitamin D and vitamin C when the pandemic broke out. But she really stressed the importance of vitamin D. Also recommended taking a B-Complex for other health reasons.
I have a bottle of B-Complex on my supplement shelve. But I take so many supplements already. But I eat really good low carb diets with lots of greens and meat. So i dont think i need a b complex.
My wife spoke with a doctor at length when COVID19 appeared, mostly for my benefit due to lung disease. We started taking vitamins B complex, C, D, and zinc. We got COVID19 in January of 2022 and while it caused weakness, sore skin and difficulty wanting to eat, we didn't have any problems with lungs/breathing. I thought if I caught it I would probably die due to lung complications with my emphysema and COPD. While it took us 1-3 weeks to recover, none of us had the breathing complications that were so prevalent with COVID19. I attribute this to the vitamins my wife insisted that we have been taking for the last 18 months prior to our illness. This video confirms that the vitamins were instrumental in us surviving the disease with minimal complications.
This is how 2 people talking on a subject should be. Both giving their inputs and learning from each other. Love how Joe is willing to listen to the facts and adopt his own opinions whether it be health or politically related!
JRE rocks! I think the controversy in late 2021 or early 2022 really boosted his ratings… which had the reverse outcome of what the “morons” were thinking. I only say this because before that happened, I’d not heard of Joe, but now I’m a big fan. I’m not alone!
Hi Joe, I just started watching you. I am glad you ventured into this subject. I used to work outside all the time then had to switch inside due to a job change. I was only getting 4 hours average on most days then my health went down. Went to my doctor who pain pills and it continued to get worse. I went to a wellness doctor who took my metabolic blood work and checked my back and neck X-ray. He did. An immediate adjustments in my neck and and back followed by therapy and 5,000 units of D3 with fish oil and a multi. I added carrot juice and aloe Vera juice to my daily regimen. Not only did I feel better prior to Covid but I never had Covid and never took a shot and never will. I am so pissed off that to this day it is not a regular standard to check your metabolic bloodwork. They do not tell you about D3 let alone how much and that you need magnesium for it to work and there are different kinds of magnesium so you have ti check. My theory is they make a ton of money on keeping the chronic just that chronic and chemical dependent. The FDA needs to be sued or someone held criminally liable or both! I can tell you that I am working with Dad right now that is 93. He had two spine surgeries at 88 due to a bone infection but gave me no name for it. They also said he has vascular dementia. Long story short, the more I looked at his health history the more I believe I found some of the root causes. He had been taking large amounts of calcium each day for years thinking it was helping his bones when in fact it does the opposite when you have too much and your not getting the other vitamins to help process it. The excess goes to you arteries where it causes blockage and guess what? I had a vascular study performed on my Dad a year after his surgery and he had 50 percent occlusion in his artery in the back of his neck. Also he had been taking PPIs for decades because he had an ulcer and acid reflux but yet the doctor allowed it. You are not supposed to take it for more than two weeks! I found out that as people get older they make less stomach acid and now you are purposefully blocking it. Without enough stomach acid certain foods cannot be broken down to be broken again in the small intestines which you become deficient in magnesium and other essential vitamins. Read the effects of magnesium deficiency and others and you see they have a host of physical and emotional effects on someone especially at 93. I am venting here but I am really pissed that in this year we are still figuring this out . He is doing better since we made some changes on our own. We just changed it over the last month and will probably take months to see significant changes. His doctor started to tell me well what about his quality of life? I just about dropped kicked him. Really? Quality of life???Whose quality? His or others? My guess is he would like to absorb what little he can eat and remember! Thanks for listening but I hope people realize dementia can caused by medication and lack of D3 and magnesium. It’s not just, oh well that’s it for you.
I completely understand your frustration and concern about the state of healthcare and the need for a more holistic approach to wellness. It's clear from your personal experiences and the care you're providing for your father that nutrition, lifestyle, and understanding the impacts of various medications are essential for overall health. You've highlighted the importance of checking metabolic bloodwork, Vitamin D3, and magnesium levels, and how deficiencies can lead to various health issues, including dementia. It's true that a more comprehensive approach to healthcare, considering individual needs and factors, is crucial. Your dedication to your father's well-being is commendable, and I hope that your efforts lead to significant improvements in his health. It's crucial to advocate for better education and awareness about these issues, so people can make informed decisions about their health and well-being. Thank you for sharing your experiences, and I hope that others can learn from your insights and experiences as well.
Iv been taking 40,000iu for about a month now, changed my life, I feel great, bouncing off the walls, singing around the house, all that jazz, hugely improved quality of life
@Davit M I did for about a month then went down to 20,000, the pills I take are 10,000iu, and plan to eventually take one every couple of days, I suffer from psoriasis and followed the advice on a video I watched for psoriasis sufferers by Dr Berg, the reason for the initial high dose being that likely having leaky gut or a damaged gut, the goal was to take high dose to allow levels of d3 to build up, assuming assimilation is not so effective.
@Davit M Im taking a cheap brand - 'Piping Rock' I haven't seen drops but will look into that , wasnt easy finding 10,000 iu here in Australia, resorted to importing from US, they dont have other chemicals only 'sunflower oil and/or safflower oil', which I don't want in the body but like I said wasn't easy finding a 10,000 iu product, small sacrifice and am happy with the results of the product thus far.

I bought 3 bottles of the stuff but I also got some from Germany, yes 50,000 iu once a day had me up and ready to take on the day. But I had a private blood test and it showed my levels were over the quota so I was advised to not take more.
More so than the facts and numbers she's bringing up, it's her passion and clear visible concern when speaking on this topic that makes me really realize how deeply important vitamin D is
I found out I was vitamin D deficient back in May when I started waking up fatigued after being a morning person my entire life. I went to the doctor and had blood work done. I was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency. I've been taking 5,000 iu and K2 daily and go for 30 minute walks in the sun everyday and feel like a new person and I'm back to having energy in the morning again.
@@sandab1301 I found out in June and retested this month and raised my vitamin d levels from a 12 to 34 over the course of 9 months. I would say a solid 3-6 months of taking Vitamin D3 5,000, adding it to your diet, and getting daily sun can have a significant effect. It just took me a long time to go get another blood test to see the results
Thank you for your reply! It's my first week of taking the vitamin D supplement, I'm struggling to sleep and anxious and fatigued. Hopefully I'll see some positive changes soon, because I'm really struggling. I don't want to wait 3 months for results lol
if u are in the sun arround 10 minutes if u are like very white , a normal person 20 minutes , and if u r dark skinned 40 minutes. theres no need to take extra vitamnin d

EXACTLY! Read my post above^^^^^^^ Psoriasis is now mostly treated with what are called "Biologics" immune supresors which are SUPER expensive, which is why you see so many commercials for them on TV.
Nope, the problem with vitamins is that they are not really a theraputic treatment. Drugs treat ailments and symptoms. Vitamins are still crucial for the bodies function, but it won't prevent contraction, just minimize it.
Modern medicine focus on treatment than prevention. There is no money to be made on prevention of the disease. 3 years ago a japanese scientist Yoshinori Ohsumi won nobel prize for fasting based research yet we are still told fasting is bad by doctors.
@@monbjra I think that is changing. Intermittent fasting is all the rage, and its starting to be well received. I think in a few years it will be prescribed by more health professionals. Or rather....... I HOPE.

I take Vitamin D 20000UI every day for 6 months with Vitamin K, my Blood test shows my Vitamin D level is still within the range. My bone density is INCREASED! this shocked my doctor.
There’s a reason you’re not hearing much about a cheap vitamin that can help/treat a pandemic... pharmaceutical companies can’t make billions off of it.
j j not this day in age. The sun is still the most efficient way to absorb vitamin D for most people. I believe we were never meant to ingest high amounts of the vitamin. Absorption is always questionable with supplements.
j j we all are human beings though. We can only be but so different. I believe nature knew what it was doing long before we were here and that the further away we get from it, the worst off we will be.
I was Vitamin D deficient. It sucked. I thought i had clots or was suffering from some form of heart failure. My blood pressure was 60/40 and my pulse was 22bpm. I thought I was dying and didnt have the energy to panic. I couldnt even feel my pulse. I made myself get up out of bed and just walking slowly to the car felt like I had ran 100 mile marathon at full speed. Once got to the clinic and into the room my BP went to 70/60 and at rest my pulse was at 55bpm. Once I got my blood work back they told me I was VitD deficient. They told me normal levels is 30 and above and mine was 12. They told more I was literally in stroke zone. I got VD2 they prescribed and not even in a day the recovery was felt progressive that whole day. By the end of week I had energy. It was then I didnt realize how important VD to every part of the body, specifically the organs. Another thing is many of the deaths from Korona the patients were found deficient in VD.
What I find interesting is that in your country normal levels are considered 30. Whereas I got my bloodwork done and in my country the minimum is considered to be 50. Since I am at 24 I need to take supplements too, but I wouldnt be considered very deficient by your country standards.
a year ago i was under a huge amount of stress and my vitamin d was so low that I got super sick for months. I had to quit my job. Get sun friends and chill out, dont let life drag ya down
How long did you go before seeing a doctor that allowed you to fall into a multiple month illness from something you can fix with over the counter pills?
Im watching this video late but i personally believe she is 100% right. From my own experience I had an injury in the gym and i did everything i could to make it heal and all my methods failed. My diet was alright so i figured i could only be deficient in maybe a couple of vitamins. Next I did some research and figured out what was different in my life from before which was I stopped going outside in the sun like I used to. So I started taking a new immune builder/ multivitamin with 4,000iu of vitamin D and the injury went away in three days I was even around someone who had covid for several hours face to face and i didnt catch it so thats why i believe her and this was well over a year ago.
When I was taking vit d daily I caught the covid and flu but i got back up in under a week. When I stopped and now winter hit again this has been the worst and longest sickness I've ever gotten for awhile. I megadosed vit d today and hopefully it helps
This explains everything! I workout a lot and eat healthy but I never go outside. I noticed when I travel I'm always outside and feel better and almost never get sick. This explains everything. Vitamin d + fresh air is super important
Snorlax same here bro! The past few months I worked everyday as usual. Then stopped drinking. Then stop smoking. Then stop eating meat. Still felt like shit. Went one day on a hike and everything changed. My face looked day and night different!!!!
Medcram on UA-cam has a good video on the dosage specific to lungs. Averaging a lot of the studies comes to 800iu daily as the optimal dose taken with food
Rogan always does this service to all of us. This time with Dr. Patrick who has in fact helped me in such an immense way. Due to the lockdown I pretty much stopped going outside and my job hampers any interaction with direct sunlight and that made me severely Vitamin D deficient in this past 1 year. Almost zero sunlight for more than a year as I work at night. F*ck it's been 1 week me taking a supplement and some issues I had especially mental issues kinda got better. I suspected I had depression, like MDD.
Take more! I started with 2000IU's, then 5k, then 12k, now 15k. My blood tests proved I needed that much. I work at a desk job and only get sun on the weekends. Since doing this, I've felt much better overall. You can't really overdose on it with 20k. I don't know where her studies came from but several doctors say otherwise. So don't be afraid to increase it to 10 or 15k IU's.
@@babytt8487 bro you're not supposed to take 50k a day. That's 350,000IUs a week. 700k in two weeks whilst 20k a day will only amount to 280k. Do this for months and you're taking much more than someone taking only 20k
@@zeppkfw i'm a woman first of all, secondly I don't take 50,000iu a day I take it once a week as someone with darker skin I need more vitamin D then someone with lighter skin.

Lived in Belgium for many years. My hair was falling and was very low in energy. It took forever to figure out what it was and bingo my vitamin d levels were very low. My kids had the same issue. Have your doctors check your levels. They won’t if you don’t ask for it. Instead they prefer to give out anti depressants.
That's the crazy part. People are so detached from health and nutrition these days and accept the harmful shit like anti depressant zombie pills. Doctors know nothing about nutrition and it's completely mind blowing, some even get angry if you mention it or diet or something. They make so much bonus money off peddling whatever new patented chemical. Seriously anti depressants don't just supress your bad emotions, your good ones too, leaving you in a sort of limbo half dead state, I've seen friends on it and it's terribly sad.
@@0FFICERPROBLEM Not really true. I almost always check vitamin D levels in my patients, along with ferritin levels as a marker of iron and sleep quality. I catch and treat tons of vitamin D deficiency, iron deficiency and sleep apnea. That said, this rarely is enough to treat depression, even when you add in exercise, prayer, sleep, and other life-enhancing properties, but they all help. Sometimes you need an antidepressant.
There is a reason why the flu season is in the fall in the Northern hemispheres.
Vitamin D levels plummet over fall/winter.
It's also due to heated air drying out your mucosa and people spending more time indoors in bigger groups.
Christopher definitely a combination of things.
Definitely a contributing factor, but also because UV light kills most viruses pretty quickly, and viruses travel more easily in dry and cold air.

Take that shit boi

I also take D3 and k2 together. It’s even better to add a vitamin c/zinc Supplement.
I need a good supplement, can you recommend anything in particular?
Please elaborate!!

Don't forget zinc
I take B complex every morning
On point
This video confirms that the vitamins were instrumental in us surviving the disease with minimal complications.

adults

When I was taking vit d daily I caught the covid and flu but i got back up in under a week. When I stopped and now winter hit again this has been the worst and longest sickness I've ever gotten for awhile. I megadosed vit d today and hopefully it helps
@@zeppkfw Yeah the benefits vary from person to person but in most cases I think its something people understatement how much it actually can help.
I love how joe listens and asks questions
This explains everything!
I workout a lot and eat healthy but I never go outside. I noticed when I travel I'm always outside and feel better and almost never get sick. This explains everything. Vitamin d + fresh air is super important
Snorlax same here bro! The past few months I worked everyday as usual. Then stopped drinking. Then stop smoking. Then stop eating meat. Still felt like shit. Went one day on a hike and everything changed. My face looked day and night different!!!!
The ultraviolet rays also kill diseases.
Michael Riddick Also gives you skin cancer
@Enda O'Rourke I thought I had read that the sun doesn't give you vitamin d its just the catalyst for vitamin d to do its thing in your body?
@Gurnoor Sidhu you’ll get sick I’ve taken 50,000iu and after 1 week I was bouncing around town like a yo-yo.
@@babytt8487 bro you're not supposed to take 50k a day. That's 350,000IUs a week. 700k in two weeks whilst 20k a day will only amount to 280k. Do this for months and you're taking much more than someone taking only 20k
@@zeppkfw i'm a woman first of all, secondly I don't take 50,000iu a day I take it once a week as someone with darker skin I need more vitamin D then someone with lighter skin.
someone i know had psoriasis for years. then they started drinking milk and having 1000 IU's of Vitamin D per day, and it cleared the psoriasis almost immediately. crazy.
I have psoriasis now for 30 yrs.
I'm surprised on milk since milk causes inflammation
Stupid doctors, all those years wasted.
Same. I stopped having panic attacks after about a month of taking vitamin D.
Diet is tough, as many won't follow it, but a Mediterranean keto diet is the best in my book in many regards.
hate my countries doctors lmao
She's the best science teacher I've ever had, based on this video alone.
Her other videos are very informative as well
Calm down boot locker
@@sammypagano1576 thanks brodie.. I'll be sure to check them out (:
@@lander4092Good one.. I'll let you edit your response, and convert the word from "locker" to 'licker', so that your poor attempt at a vein, self-centered, self-serving, ego driven comment at least makes sense.
Thank you for your keen observation and wonderful contribution to the UA-cam community lol.
That's a shame if she is. Being black you dont have to take Vitamin D supplements you can get it from the sun.
I'm 68, high blood pressure, overweight, no vax. Been taking 10,000 IU d3 +k2 since the start of the pandemic. When I got covid it was like the most minor case of the flu with even less symptoms. After 5 days I was fine.
Just got my results and I’m at 6 😬, so definitely taking my vitamins, hopefully feeling better 🙏🏻
6...That's horrific
