It isn't just you. I get goosebumps when I hear the pipes. The pipes were played at my uncle's (DA) funeral. I told my other uncle (his brother) " I don't know how you kept it together. He told me, "I was ok until they started playing the pipes".

Brother, I ain't just you. As a member of a couple of different Honor Guards, I have participated in around 40 funerals for Military, Fire/EMS, and Law Enforcement personnel that paid the ultimate sacrifice. I am fine until the pipes. Then it is hard to keep my bearing. Even watching this video, I have to have some tissues in case my eyes start sweating.

This arrangement, with these original women, with the bagpipes has been my most favorite. I'm a male vocalist, but i listened and watched and learned from these vocalists and their brillant classical methods . Without formal training, but a lot of mentoring, i've been told my pitch, color and a not forced vibrato is wonderful. and i owe a lot of this from these vocalists.

If you haven’t already done so, I recommend the live stripped down version of Nightwish’s How’s The Heart. Also in honor of Marko’s incredible career, can you do Kiss While Your Lips Are Still Red and his Voice of My Father

Hi Beth. I LOVE your reaction videos! I started watch these types of videos a couple of months now and I must say that yours have been pushed to the top of my list. They’re wonderful. I’m in the States, white and 73 years old. I confess to be an apparent Pentaholic but having grown up in NC, I experienced THE best music era. I’ve binged on your reaction today, those artists that I know and love only getting down to this one, Celtic Woman. They are incredible and I miss them in the ensemble here. I attended 2 concerts and have many of their DVDs and CDs. Yep, a fan! Thank you for this one, my ears loved it. I heard many of the “things” that you pointed out but never was able to put my finger on why. Thank You. I’ll keep going back in your catalog to look for some Platters, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Tavares and The O’Jays. Seeing that you have 600k subscribers, making a request to hear some “Carolina Beach Music” would never fly. 😪. I’ll look for The Embers, The Band of Oz, The Tams, Sam Cooke and The Drifters. Maybe I’ll get lucky. Again, thank you for your insights. Loving them.

My favorite experience with bagpipes was at Minneapolis's MaCalester College when they held one of their Highland Games festivals.
There must have been at least a dozen pipe bands from all over marching and playing with each other at the same time.
They started a city block or two away from the parade ground and played as they came to the field.

I'm not a believer in god or anything spiritual but damnit I love listening to great talent like this , it shows up so much in religious songs . My mom and i loved Celtic Woman , and I actually got to see them live here in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was in the hospital, unfortunately shortly before her death , and I called her and said guess what show I got to see , she said she was so jealous but happy I got to go. In my heart I had went and saw it for the both of us, I knew she would've loved to have been there with me. I cried alot during the show and said " oh mom I know you would've loved this ". She loved bagpipes as well, and all the pageantry and elegance of Celtic Woman. I'm glad I saw your video, it was so nice seeing your reaction to it and it brought back fond memories for me. Thank you for everything you do, you help more people than you'll ever know.

. . . you should react to the acapella version of Danny Boy from this same concert. I heard them sing it live twice, and just the harmonies alone can bring tears to your eyes and put a lump in your throat--- from beginning to end, not to mention the lyrics. The entire crowd was in stunned silence during and directly after it was sung, like we were in the presence of angels---- way beyond the cliche term "she sounded like an angel sent from heaven". In this case, they seemed like they were ACTUAL mysterious and holy heavenly beings. It is perhaps the most beautiful and otherworldly thing that I have ever heard. Check it out.
