Good morning Mr. wonderful. I am a swimming pool professional. Licensed pool contractor. And have been running my own business for nine years. I’m having difficulty taking the next step and paying for Workmen’s Comp. and hiring three more pool guys to run to Pool routes. Do I take the risk and jump to the next step to expand my business.
Nah, it's not about the money - it's about helping his UA-cam channel grow. Aaron has 5 million subscribers, so Kevin promoting his products for him will make Aaron more likely to promote Kevin's channel. This gives Kevin more exposure, credibility, and opportunities to sell products for companies he's invested in.
Jordan Williamson I’ve met her a few times when I was in NYC real estate auction business. She is a straight shooter and just like she is on the show. Tenacious and always thinking....

Do you need a mentor? No. But you do need to learn. And keep learning. Whether that's a mentor, self education, books, trial and error... Or better yet a combination of all of those! Continually learning is the solution! 👊🏼
If you watch this video ua-cam.com/video/M2qb2cXtxzw/v-deo.html 4 of the Sharks talk about how the pitches can last 1-2 hr, and the producers edit to 8 minutes and they edit out a lot of the friendly banter you see here. :-)
@@TheSpiritoftheCocktail Obviously mentors are very useful, but generally they are expensive as shit, so i would say unless you need to consult something very especific, books are better than mentors in terms of value per money and time spent
that is truly a poor piece of guidance.....would you take a chemistry class withouth a textbook and teacher? Instead what you are suggesting is that you learn chemistry by fumbling your way through it with no guidance. Mentorship is having others show you the speedbumps and roadblocks before you run into them in a damaging sort of way. If people moved through life by starting at ground zero every time they tried to achieve something society would still be living in caves and killing beasts with sharp sticks
Wow this episode could have been an hour long. It was awesome getting answers from both of you on questions. Mr. Wonderful it's so amazing that people can hear people that have been there done that on your vlog. Barbara is one of my favorite guest that you've had. Next to Aaron Marino your UA-cam is probably my next favorite. I would love to see you and Ken McElroy do a vlog together. Thanks
Love the answer by Barbara on mentorship. I have been my own mentor, while a lot of people including family members went against me, I successfully made it.
Love you guys, and Mr. Wonderful you're the best shark! Agree with Barbara, if a mentor is not easily available (out of your circle perhaps, or you're not valuable enough for those "millionaire mentors" to take you as a mentee, or you're just starting fresh) - best thing to do is to invest in yourself, your skills by reading tons of books, attending seminars, taking courses etc. Build confidence in the area you're getting into, learn from the mistakes of those ahead of you - do not just blindly follow them (even the most successful ones made tons of mistakes).
Keep it up bud! I'm 24 and I average about 15k CAD every month. You're absolutely right, you do not need a mentor in order to succeed... But if you had an experienced mentor, you would go from 20k to 40k on your best month, I garuntee you!
To Mr. Wonderful Kevin O'Leary & of course Mrs. Amazing Barbara Corcoran, Must I start off by saying absolutely Wonderful Questions & Answers! 👏🏼 A very Educational 19 minutes well spent this morning!! Especially when hearing from Elizabeth! Her question is a question I'm sure so many of us have but for so many new upcoming Hustlers / Entrepreneurs (Shark Tank Fans) that are somewhat unaware of the proper steps to take or just something so simple as (Quoted by Mr. Wonderful) "We can't look at deals first, that's a problem." but a (Quote from Lori Greiner *Hero or Zero*) stated "Do your own guerilla market research here. Hit the streets and ask people, not just friends and family, but really go out there and find out yourself. Do your own focus groups. If people are not impressed with your product idea, tell them it’s not your idea and that you’re just working for a market research company. Then go home and go back to the drawing board.”.. But as a fellow Shark Tank fan and for new up coming fans or already present fans, never once did I stop and think that it is NOT OK to forward a pitch of my idea to Any fellow Sharkette or Official Shark Tank social media accounts for the sole purpose of possibly ruining my chances of being able to have the blessing of being in front of the Blessed Sharkettes. Not to mention I gained so much advice for some time now from each Sharkette which gave me the motivation to Not Give Up, resulting in my achievements and mistakes I'm facing each moment through this whole process. For example I created a Instagram account which is completely public and focuses on my idea / pitch as well as proof / examples of an already existing company as well as I am guilty of sending all of my current information / pitch to all Sharkettes including Official Shark Tank Instagram prior to viewing your UA-cam video moments ago. So my actual question is are my chances of having the ability to pitch in front of fellow Sharkettes over, now that I'm still trying my hardest but made some mistakes along my journey? Thank You! - Jocelyn C. Thank You Elizabeth & Best Of Luck!!

Kevin & Barbra, working into buying my 1st company. When you are considering buying a company, besides normal questions like any large numbers on balance sheet, how many pages from previous year, what questions would you ask finance to avoid impairments? What questions do you ask sales team? Thanks for your input
I agree with Barbara's answer on the whole mentorship idea. She essentially says that people looking for a mentor need to first look within themselves. It's hard to find a good mentor and if you expose yourself to enough experiences you rack up enough 'points' which helps you make better decisions later. I think educating yourself about past and current business leaders is helpful but everyone is unique. Not everyone can force themselves to be like, for example, Micheal Jordan because each person was built with unique qualities. So, in the end, you need to build confidence to trust your decision making- which is an ongoing battle for us all
I don’t understand! And yet I understand. So your children will be okay and have the knowledge but everyone one else will just figure it out. I get your kids will be okay and will have a mentor. But what about businesses is a lone process? I could go farther but we know lying will get a person far but how far? I only know simple stuff.
I think she means do not look for someone to say, do this . do that, look for someone you can occasionally ask a question of rather than rely on all the time.
