Great job on a DIY Instructional video: too bad I was ignorant to these jump starters because I owned a 2005 AC Delco jump starter. I was awarded the AC Delco jump starter for free for asking and answering a question when I attended the new auto buyer's seminar from the dealership where I bought my 2005 GMC Sierra. Years later in early 2019 I purchased a Super Start 1000 Amp Jump Starter - 55002 from Oh, Oh, O'Reilly's Auto Parts Store and last week I discovered that it is DEAD. I am nearly done disassembling the housing, so I can remove the battery and I hope I can find a replacement battery. In my humble opinion these portable jump starts are better than a membership with AAA or roadside assistance with USAA! I was really pissed off at USAA when I caught them tracking the number of times I used Roadside Assistance: it is a "sneaky method" that they use to increase your insurance premiums!
You never showed us if it worked when u finished with installations lol .. im almost possitive it works great ! But for future ..its nice yo see it working afterwards imo .. thanks for video ! Cheers 🍷 🍻
I got that Powerstation at Costco a few years ago. Battery stopped holding a charge. Special ordered a 22 Ah (upgraded the original 18 Ah) from Home Depot for $53.40. The new battery's connecting posts are closer together exactly like the one in the video. Was able to rebend the brass bus bar at a diagonal to get it to be almost long enough. Ended up buying #8 brass washers from HD to make up the difference. It might behoove you to buy the "exact" replacement from the manufacturer.
Hey thanks I enjoyed your video question for you though. I have a pack. I believe I can harbor freight one of those, but the batteries fully charged it even reads it on my multimeter, but nothing comes out of the cables. It is missing the charging port USB charger port, but that shouldn’t do anything. Does I still keep it charged just pull it out and put my other little battery charger that I got in charge the battery and keep it charged but I don’t get anything out of the cables.
Good day my EverStart is fairly new and it's not taking charge is it because I have not charged it in a while? What can be the cause of this problem seeing that it's basically new?
Sam's Club sells and replaces car batteries. They also take the old battery and refund the core charge if you buy the battery and give them back the old battery. They also sell these type of 12V batteries, used in Golf carts. So I am hoping you may be able to give them away your old battery even if they do not refund some $5 or so for the old battery; they may accept it for recycling. I replaced my battery before the pandemic and thinking to give it to Sam's Club for recycling. I did not buy the battery for my Power Station from Sam's Club.
I have the Powerstation PSX1004IN. I charge the unit shows over a 12V charge using a external meter, nothing works on the unit. Nothing works on the unit no gauges, air compressor, no power. Can I fix this problem because I don't want to get rid of it.
Maybe this is a dumb question but I was sent a battery like this one by mistake but I don't have a jump starter. Do you know if I can jump start directly from this battery if I have the cables?
I have a portable jump starter with radio, usb, etc. It will not charge up now. Is it better to just buy a new one or is there some reason this is not charging any longer? Do you have a video that would explain how to fix one that won't charge when plugged into wall?
These compressors have a transformer mounted on the case. You can see it at 1:45 on the top left. It is possible that it isn't working properly and can be replaced. It's also possible that something went wrong with the charging circuit. In which case you'd have to figure out the wiring schematic and troubleshoot. Whether that's worth your time and effort is up to you. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
It probably just needs a new battery. Its pretty much the same battery as a motorcycle or ride on lawnmower, snowmobile, ect. You can replace the battery. Just make sure to get one the same dimensions so it fits
@@pashiki5480 Most likely yes, if it is not lying idle (without recharging) for several years. My battery was approx 5 to 7 years old. It gave very good service. However, I forgot to recharge may be for a year. Then the red LED kept flashing and did not hold charge when I plugged it to the electrical outlet. However, if you hook it up to a recharging station, probably it will begin to recharge. I tried to recover the battery by looking into Internet posts, but failed. Therefore, I replaced the battery after several days of applying recovery techniques.
I was wondering man do you know if there’s a possible way to switch out one of the jumping cords from the harbor freight one my dog chewed it so I was just looking to see if there’s a way to switch them out like buy another cord and fix it
Find a cheap set of jumper cable and cut one of them and replace it. You can buy battery cable which would work, just not sure where you would get the clamp. Maybe amazon?
There should be a button labeled, "Test". If you press that button, in the dial the needle will turn to the right. If the needle stays in the green zone, the charge should be adequate. Otherwise it needs to be plugged to electrical outlet. When you plug it to the outlet, the red LED will lit and will stay solid. Once fully charged (sometimes takes several hours, because the battery is designed to charge slowly) the green LED will lit. If the red LED does not stay solid and just blinks/flashes, it is not a good sign. A flashing red LED means the voltage has dropped to a considerable low level and the battery is finding it difficult to charge. Instead pressing the Test button, if an electrical outlet is available, just plug it in. If it is already adequately charged, the red LED will turn off and the green LED will lit in a relatively short time. Then unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
(Peak pkc0az 900-amp jump starter.) The problem with mine is that the male plug on the back of the case seems to have broken loose inside and just pushes around. I cannot attach an extension cord as previously because the contacts are so loose. WHAT KIND OF SCREWS are holding the case together? They are very deep and the hole is too small for any of my screwdrivers. If I need to go buy a longer shafted screwdriver I would like to know if it is a Phillips or some kind of star point. It was not dropped or mistreated.
I have the red 4-1 Cen-Tech power pack and the air compressor feature stopped shooting out air through the compressor air hose. The unit charges normally and the air compressor kicks on when flipping the switch but no air circulates out the air hose nor does the needle gauge move when connected to an inflation tire stem. By any chance would you happen to have any suggestions of what could be causing the issue? Thanks for sharing.
Since the compressor turns on, I think it's safe to assume the hose came off the compressor somehow. The gauge would read 0psi because the air is escaping. Some compressors have a crimp on fitting that you'd have to cut off. Then reinsert the hose and clamp as shown in my video. It's also possible that the hose is dry rotted and leaks air. In which case, replace the entire hose as shown in my video. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
