    So I have the same box. It works plugged into the wall and the battery seems good. I checked the fuse you found here and it was bad, but after I jumped that with a inline fuse the air pump runs constantly and won’t stop.

    Very helpful and detailed video, thank you!. Just seeing how to open everything up, and then how all the parts are laid out, is worth its weight in gold. Finding that fuse, if it proves to be the problem, could be difficult. The most likely future problem is the battery, and I am sure places like Amazon will have replacements. Great video!

    At 3:20 is that a thermal fuse, or a fusible link? I've only seen thermal fuses looking something like diodes. Wonder if that's a thermal fuse, was it originally attached to something inside to sense excess heat, such as that wall wart charger.

I open it and found the fuse you said my problem is I can’t find here in my country , the story is when I come home from Canada I bring this one with me that’s it I can’t find here the same fuse. My question is is there any equivalent I could use or any fuse that I can replace with the same connectivity to the original? If you happen to to have any alternatives that I can use it would be helpful.

    I own an Everstart MAXX J5CPDE whose jump start feature doesn't turn on unless the engine is running. Started doing that when the battery was fully charged showing 4 bars and 12.9 volts. Everstart customer service kept repeating that it needed to recharged for 40 hours after each use. We don't have any electronics repair shops in the area so am considering to open it up to see if I can bypass the electronics with a throw switch to control the voltage going to the negative cable. It's a handy device to keep in a vehicle. I keep it charged while driving by using an Everstart 400 watt inverter plugged into a power port. It'll charge up to 13.9 volts before the 3 amp trickle vharger turns off.

      Were you able to get your jump pack fixed? It's not useful if the engine has to be running to use it, since the only time you use it is when the engine doesn't start. Keep me posted with what you find. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I have this exact model. The charging time always throws me off. Personally, I think 2 or 3 days of charging is too long. But that is how long it takes for me to get a 3/4 charge. So I go with it. Anyways, lately been having an issue with the unit turning itself on (air compressor). Both when I am charging it and also when it is just sitting around the apartment waiting to go back out to my trunk (not plugged into anything). Actually I have heard the beeping from my trunk while I am out running errands. This has happened several times. Enough that I reset the PSI down to 3 on the air compressor this way when it decides to act out it is quickly subdued because the PSI is set so low. Rather than me rushing to the unit to turn it off. I have had my unit for about 3 years now. I LOVE it! I refer to it as my child when people ask about it. Luckily I am a DIYer and have no problem busting it open to see if there are any issues. Honestly I wouldn't know what to look for. And just my luck the damn thing would turn on while I am investigating. Lol. Any ideas?

    • @shanersmechaniclife3164

    Only if you are careful and know what you are doing. You can actually bring these sealed lead acid batteries back to life. Look closely at the top, pry off the lid. Then remove the rubber stoppers over each cell. If they are low, top them off with DEIONIZED WATER, not tap water or filtered water. If they are dry you can buy battery acid at a battery store. Batteries plus probably sells it. Fill it almost up but not all the way. Leave caps off and charge the battery with a high amperage charger. Once you get it to hold a charge its best to charge it with a charger that does the desulfate process to clean corrosion off the lead plates inside. I've brought back batteries that were dry for years. There is a possibility that a cell could be dead or broken inside but it's not very common. UA-cam has tons of videos on repairing dead batteries. Good luck. Hope this helps save some batteries from our landfills and saves some of you some money.

    An electrocution risk from 12 volt?? 🤔

    • @NaylaSummer
      @NaylaSummer Рік тому

      No, not if you simply touch the negative cable or post with one hand and grasp the red or positive post with your other, therefore completing the circuit between the battery your hands through your heart and out your other hand. Because your body has to much resistance the 12v of pressure is not enough to push through your body. But grab a metal tool and place socket on positive post and let handle touch your car metal (same as touching the negative post). And a spark will fly, you will get burned if you are touching the place where the arc occurs. Simply holding the tool, no.
