Since the Ellen Degeneres show began in 2003, comedian Ellen Degeneres has made it her full time job making people laugh. With her “Be Kind” slogan, the host has been praised for her feel-good day time TV content as well as her philanthropy and good deeds. Recently however, the internet has turned against this star, calling for her show to be cancelled.
Since 2020 began, fans, former guests, colleagues and even her staff members have been coming forward with allegations of mistreatment from the star. People have claimed that Ellen is not the happy face she appears to be on TV. They say that in real life, Ellen Degeneres can be mean and even a bully. Ellen has been accused of many things including trying to get servers fired, being controlling of her wife Portia de Rossi, underpaying and mistreating her set crew, and even refusing to acknowledge people she believes are beneath her such as bloggers and bodyguards. During the covid-19 pandemic, crew’s pay was reportedly cut by 60%.
Are these allegations against the tv star true? Or is she the victim of the internet’s latest craze of cancel culture. #RIPEllen is trending on twitter. Whether or not the allegations are true, Ellen’s show, and reputation, is now in jeopardy as she loses more and more loyal fans by the day.

I remember being pissed off when she not only mocked the name of a relater on her show without her permission but also and provide a picture of an ad for her business which included her phone number. This poor lady got prank and harassment calls from total strangers. She tried to sue Ellen for using her name and information on her show without her consent and in turn, causing extreme emotional and mental distress from the humiliation and the harsh phone calls Unfortunately, she ended up losing to Ellen. I cannot be the only person that thought what Ellen did was horribly rude to say the least.

I was brought up as vegetarian so I'm very use to fake veg's. I couldn't live without some dairy or eggs in my diet, but as I've never eaten meat or fish I don't miss it. I'd rather have a celeb be honest, Jared Letto admits to being a cheagan eg a vegan who cheats, I like that. I never understood the supper friendly look as a show as you can't be friends with everyone all the time. I feel like she’s only nice and kind to guests she likes and other than that, she’s sorta rude and makes the guests feel uncomfortable.
She also gets very defensive and can’t take a joke from a lot of her guests. She also makes them feel bad if they don’t know something about her or her show. Or when some guest lightly corrects Ellen on something she said that was completely incorrect and gets all defensive. One time Leonardo DiCaprio was on the show and she pronounced something wrong. He politely corrected her and she got super defensive, saying she was from New Orleans and I thought they speak in New Orleans. Then Leo got super uncomfortable because she couldn’t accept she said it wrong.
Ellen is also sometimes very racist, once telling Sofia Vergara her accent is “getting worse”. (Whoops haha wrote this before watching the whole thing)
She’s also very condescending sometimes and can’t take a hint. One time Scarlett Johansson was on the show and Ellen asked about Colin Jost’s proposal. It’s obvious Scarlett wanted to keep it private and personal, and Ellen even said she didn’t have to say how he did, yet Ellen kept prodding and being very nosy into Scarletts story she evidently wanted to keep to herself. The whole interview was uncomfortable.
I love Ellen at times, but other times she’s infuriating.

She reminds me of this head cashier at my job in the 90s who was yelling at me and putting me down constantly, though she was friendly to other clerks. The one time I spoke firmly to defend myself, she said "I am your supervisor, you don't talk to me like that!".

To be honest, being in stay home COVID-19 quarantine changes people for better or worse.
