I believe it was shady. The woman was just excited to be on her show and probably just wanted a little extra to remember the experience. Was it wrong? YES, did it deserve public shaming? NO. Even though she was being shamed, the woman took it gracefully, but still, it was completely unnecessary. She could've shown a video with her face blurred out and just have the person feel guilt by herself there without being humiliated. It'd have taught her a lesson but without vilifying her in public.

This was very hard to watch. The audience member took more than one item - Ok. Make a short FUNNY joke about it and move on. But, I was really shocked how Ellen handled it. She dragged it on way too long, and humiliated that woman on TV. Bad Bad Ellen!

And isn't it sickening how everybody plays along on their high horses thinking they're much better than that poor woman who got her life destroyed on national TV to create a bunch of millions to a person who's already a filthy millionaire?
