This app is fantastic as it is, upscaling and frame generation on my 2600x and rx580 improved dramatically while running this software, with few graphical aberrations. However, the input lag is noticeable. Do with that information what you will.
Actually the perfect use for it since modded Skyrim can break in some ways if you play on more than 60 (actual) FPS. I'll be using this tool to play Lorerim and Nolvus, so excited.
Question if I’m capped at a 60hz monitor can I just use this to get 120fps in a game with 60hz still. I just need more fps in my games because I average like 40fps on my low end laptop.
Was having issues playing the new Elden Ring dlc (dropping to 30 fps consistently) so bought this for C$10 and it instantly made my game so smooth, I wish that I wouldve bought this earlier best 10 bucks spent in a long time.
Its great when - You have 120hz display and you pc can handle 40 FIXED fps - Your pc isn't the bottleneck, cause if it goes 100% load or throttling - it will just create stutters If your display is 60hz and pc can make steady 40fps - its better to stay at it then use LSFG, you will have not as fluid but more smooth and consistent gameplay.
FYI this works on videos and internet content and movies as well! You can watch animations in 60+ fps due to this, even this video. Just use the scale option while watching.
this is great for single player games not so much multiplayer. However the absolute best use ive found is actually watching YT, seriously you can triple a videos fps and the input delay dosent matter at all its awesome for watching fast paced gameplay!!
While I dont necessarily need it, I just bought it earlier tho. But I do notice a difference with AMD fluid motion and lossless scaling. With fluid motion i get over 160fps (on my 144hz screen) in bf2042 for example, but when I quickly move my mouse (which is how FPS basically is supposed to be played) my frames drop down to 78. But with lossless scaling I get 110 at its lowest and 144fps max. Before using lossless scaling I just lock my fps to 72 for bf2042. Does feel a bit smoother as well tho. But with higher demanding games it would be so useful for me as well
I bought it 3 day ago. Very very satisfying to use with Ark Ascended, BUT more than x2 the latency really start to show. X4 is a no go at all. Atleast with Ark. And imo playing a fps game with LSFG is a no go. But for adventure games, and maybe rpg and moba it should really shine. Anyways superhappy using LFSG with Ark
AFMF disables itself when the motion moves too fast like you flicking your camera. This program is on always and will interpolate every frame it captures all the time.
Great review. My only concern is compatibiliy with VRR displays. I have 3 1440P 144hz VRR displays on my main setup and then my two TVs are 120hz VRR TVs from Sony and LG. Do I have disable Gync in Nvidia Control panel or does the program not work at all if I'm connected to VRR displays? I don't have any display that's fixed anymore.
No need to turn VRR off. The app works regardless of VRR or not, it just doesn't take advantage of it. Just make sure you are running a stable locked frame rate that's dividable by your display's refresh rate.
To bad this only works on One monitor.. i try it for MSFS2020 on triple screen . it only renders one screen . but it works realy amazing for single screen .. i hope they wil fix it for triple screen in the future ,,
Does it need a minimum DirectX Version by the game used? What is about Vulkan/OpenGL? If a game has a 60fps internal hardcap, can I use this to get e.g. 120 fps out of it? Will OBS capture the regular output or the LS Output?

ive been trying this and it sucks. I tried all the frame gen settings and at 4x in minecraft, it achieved barely extra than RSR2 while having horrible input latency and choppiness. idk why this is happening and why it works for everyone else. I tried it in DayZ and Cyberpunk and the same thing happened.
i dont know why but frame generation tanks the fps in both GTA 5 and Genshin Impact did anyone have a similar problems? and did you find any solutions?
Cap the fps to 30 fps and then use frame gen, make sure the vsync option is on in lossless scaling and is set at max refresh rate instead of other options and it should work. Make sure to check out the three APIs WGC DXGI and there's one more, Some work better then other in certain games. DXGI works best in Minecraft and WGC works best in source games like Garry's mod
I have bought it recently, but I found out that it doesn't really help as much as I thought. The upscaling and frame-generation features aren't computationally free. You're giving up some FPS to use those features, on which frame generation is performed on. So instead of doubling your FPS, it's more like increasing FPS by 50%. I'd say it shines the most for games with a 30 or 60 FPS cap and you have a high-refresh rate monitor, to then turn on frame interpolation. The upscaling feature isn't that massive, NVIDIA and AMD have both their built-in driver settings for upscaling.
In my case its almost not worth it to use it, lsfg ends up using between 30-40% gpu. So I have to choose, 80 native frames per second or 50 upscaled to 100 interpolated.
I wish I could utilize the frame generation but I play on a 4K TV which maxes out at 60 fps so I have to set my max frame rate to 30 and the wavy effect at the bottom of the screen is very noticeable. Still... $8 (in Canada) is worth it for the upscaling so I'll consider it money well spent.

I really want to know what the difference is between AFMF and Lossless Scaling frame gen is. As far as I know they should be doing the same thing, so I guess the outcome SHOULD be the same regardless but I'm not sure...
@@NesplayerX9 yes they do the same thing and afmf can be stacked with fsr3 frame generation so i think this will stack on top of both of them. like call of duty for example it has fsr3 frame generation and AFMF can be activated on top of the fsr 3 frame generation

Know your monitors refresh rate first, then cap the frames half of your monitors refresh rate, set the game to windowed/borderless then then run the LSFG. If you have let's say 120Hz monitor and consistently getting 60FPS then you should cap frames into 60s then use 2X

@@josephray6264 well lethal company was the game i got LSFG for and nope it doesnt work, ur character becomes slowmo.
£4.50 on sale on steam.
WWE 2k24 capped at 30 for entrances, i could feel 60fps
I dont think the upscaleing part is really working but the frame generation part is amazing btw.
I have a legion pro 5i with a 4070 only has 8 GB vram so this will help with future AAA games to play great.
This app is fantastic as it is, upscaling and frame generation on my 2600x and rx580 improved dramatically while running this software, with few graphical aberrations. However, the input lag is noticeable. Do with that information what you will.
This program made me happy with frame generation again. I tried amd AMFR before but image quality was much worse than with this program.
I've been using this to play Skyrim at 120fps and it works so well
Actually the perfect use for it since modded Skyrim can break in some ways if you play on more than 60 (actual) FPS.
I'll be using this tool to play Lorerim and Nolvus, so excited.
Question if I’m capped at a 60hz monitor can I just use this to get 120fps in a game with 60hz still. I just need more fps in my games because I average like 40fps on my low end laptop.
You can't generate frames beyond your monitor refresh rate
The fact that this software alone beats both the big boys of the GPU market in terms of Frame Generation is kind of mind boggling.
I can't wait to test it on my Ryzen 3 2200U, Vega 3 laptop
Was having issues playing the new Elden Ring dlc (dropping to 30 fps consistently) so bought this for C$10 and it instantly made my game so smooth, I wish that I wouldve bought this earlier best 10 bucks spent in a long time.
Its great when
- You have 120hz display and you pc can handle 40 FIXED fps
- Your pc isn't the bottleneck, cause if it goes 100% load or throttling - it will just create stutters
If your display is 60hz and pc can make steady 40fps - its better to stay at it then use LSFG, you will have not as fluid but more smooth and consistent gameplay.
El programa presentado, si funciona. Ya lo he probado y es increíble que algo así funcione. ❤

With a VRR monitor locking to 40 to output 80 is the sweet spot.
VRR doesn't work with the app so it's useless having it enabled
@@FS-zt6tm not if it's locked. I love 40 fps and get no tearing
@@devonmarr9872 yea but VRR isn't doing anything to prevent tearing in this case. Having a locked frame rate is what's preventing tearing
FYI this works on videos and internet content and movies as well! You can watch animations in 60+ fps due to this, even this video. Just use the scale option while watching.
this is great for single player games not so much multiplayer. However the absolute best use ive found is actually watching YT, seriously you can triple a videos fps and the input delay dosent matter at all its awesome for watching fast paced gameplay!!
lol genius
so how it would be for the game? is this correct approach?
RTSS cap to 0
Ingame cap to 30
LFG set to x2
then i will have 60fps?
RTSS cap tp 30(I suggest you to limit it to 40 better image quality less input lag) LFG x2=60fps
I'm using LSFG with my 4080 super and it's glass smooth with my Track IR5 just do it.
@TroubleChute wait until June 6 too!
What's happening then?

While I dont necessarily need it, I just bought it earlier tho. But I do notice a difference with AMD fluid motion and lossless scaling. With fluid motion i get over 160fps (on my 144hz screen) in bf2042 for example, but when I quickly move my mouse (which is how FPS basically is supposed to be played) my frames drop down to 78. But with lossless scaling I get 110 at its lowest and 144fps max. Before using lossless scaling I just lock my fps to 72 for bf2042. Does feel a bit smoother as well tho. But with higher demanding games it would be so useful for me as well
Confused in built-in frame generation in my GPU's driver
not only triple fps in game, you can triple your fps in any video too, im now watching every single film with 75fps from 24 :)
I love lossless it changed my Tarkov life especially in pve
Hey Fellow South African!!!!
$10? Nothing to lose. While you spending thousands in gpu
What scaling should I use for monster hunter?
real time interpolated frames is really really cool, looks better than what I use which is flowframes
This is awesome, dankie!
Got an 8x in msfs 2020 with nVidia's frame gen + ls @4x. Just for curiosity and it worked and quality was fine
Now i am sure that DLSS 4.0 will come with 3.0X too but it will be locked to 5xxx series
What is the difference between using this software or just usinf AFMF with an AMD card? Is the outcome just the same?
AFMF disables itself when the motion moves too fast like you flicking your camera. This program is on always and will interpolate every frame it captures all the time.
Afmf will turn off when theres fast movements.
Lossless scaling doesnt. Its a much better version of afmf.
When I clicked on Frame Gen with 2.1 my fps were dropped to 40 FPS, I have a gt710 with a 75hz.
Its pretty cpu based so its probably ur cpu
you should try performance mode, only difference is the quality will be lowered. but check the fps out. Maybe in 2.9 update
Yes I am enjoying GZW with my 3rd gen ryzen and rx 6800
Will this work in my core 2 duo e8400 with an intel gma x4500hd?
Great review. My only concern is compatibiliy with VRR displays. I have 3 1440P 144hz VRR displays on my main setup and then my two TVs are 120hz VRR TVs from Sony and LG. Do I have disable Gync in Nvidia Control panel or does the program not work at all if I'm connected to VRR displays? I don't have any display that's fixed anymore.
No need to turn VRR off. The app works regardless of VRR or not, it just doesn't take advantage of it. Just make sure you are running a stable locked frame rate that's dividable by your display's refresh rate.
@@tidjane2001 thanks. I have actually been using it for a few days since I watched this video and got it all dialed in. Amazing piece of software!
@@tidjane2001can you also cap the framerate with RTSS or do you have to do that with AMD software?
I guess when the frametime is good that's a good base to lock the fps at?
To bad this only works on One monitor.. i try it for MSFS2020 on triple screen . it only renders one screen . but it works realy amazing for single screen .. i hope they wil fix it for triple screen in the future ,,
Does it need a minimum DirectX Version by the game used? What is about Vulkan/OpenGL?
If a game has a 60fps internal hardcap, can I use this to get e.g. 120 fps out of it?
Will OBS capture the regular output or the LS Output?
For Vulkan games, make sure to change in NVIDIA for Vulkan to prefer DXGI swapchain instead of native
@@swiftypopty1102 Thanks. But I'm not a fan of it needing windowed mode 😞
using it for chrome watching anime / youtube is somewhat a good use case, but the FG quality is not good...
Great comparison, 3x frame gen test next?
What sorcery is this...
This software actually doubled my FPS when playing Re4 Remake from 30 to 60! Well... 720p
My laptop specs:
Ryzen 5 6600H
Radeon 660 (iGPU)
Would this work on Integrated graphics aswell?
I’ve got this software but haven’t really played with it yet. I am wondering if this can have any benefit for VR games?!
too much latency, easily noticeable artifacts would not be enjoyable at all
Nice ! 💯🔥
Note for Nvidia users, please turn off the vsync in Nvidia Control Panel app otherwise you'll be capped at 60 fps.
Haha, not any Gpu, let alone my 1650. Although hotline miami and crazy taxi both run great at 4k 144hz using the 2x scaling option, 3x creates some obvious artifacting
Lukefz fsr 3 mod works really good , I have 1660 ti , I can even run some of the ray tracing mods with it lol , doom classic , quake 1 , quake 2 rtx 👍 also Last of us , but new Nvidia driver is messing with that game now with memory error... I heard you gotta roll back
@@DrGreenThumbNZL yeah I had to do that in cyberpunk 2077 once since the skin in the character creator was like a shadow figure till I rolled my drivers back, first game so far.
will it work on command & conquer games? These games are capped at 30fps.
it should
Just tried it with darktide its awesome
Could you explain further how you captured the game with the lossless scaling using OBS? Did you use game, window, or display capture? And did you configure any settings on OBS too?
Yes, worth it. Mainly on games that dont have any type of upscalling.
I tried it with Lords of the fallen but didn't work, apparently only works if you play in windowed /windowed full.
ive been trying this and it sucks. I tried all the frame gen settings and at 4x in minecraft, it achieved barely extra than RSR2 while having horrible input latency and choppiness. idk why this is happening and why it works for everyone else. I tried it in DayZ and Cyberpunk and the same thing happened.
i dont know why but frame generation tanks the fps in both GTA 5 and Genshin Impact
did anyone have a similar problems?
and did you find any solutions?
Some games will have issues. PureDark has a GTA V DLSS 3.0 mod version.
Try using a light weight filter. IntegerScaler is lightweight. Second to that is Nearest Neighbor. Anime4k is the heaviest.
What did you expect? FSR3 and DLSS3 also cost some internal FPS..
Even other frame generation eats some fps to gain more fps
In my case its almost not worth it to use it, lsfg ends up using between 30-40% gpu. So I have to choose, 80 native frames per second or 50 upscaled to 100 interpolated.
Does this work with GTX series of GPUs
And is there any risk of getting a ban in a game like CS2
It worked for me in Ghost Of Tsushima but CS2 won't allow it. Probably for security reasons.
it will work for cs2, this program does not give you any advantage
I wish I could utilize the frame generation but I play on a 4K TV which maxes out at 60 fps so I have to set my max frame rate to 30 and the wavy effect at the bottom of the screen is very noticeable. Still... $8 (in Canada) is worth it for the upscaling so I'll consider it money well spent.
Warfare's graphics reminds me of Crysis 1 so much, both the OG or the remaster.
Damm.. I have this app like for years and never really use it. 😂 Thanks man. ❤
hello friend, i have an rtx 4060, ryzen 5 5500, and 28 go ram; in msfs 2020, i have frame gen on, autofps on and when i run scaling from lossless, i don't have mu cursor in the sim, how to fix that friend ,
the idea of doing in game frame generation + amd AFMF + lossless frame generation came to my mind
I tried FSR3 frame gen + lossless frame gen and i got 240fps (from about 60). There was about half a second of input lat 😂
Edit: In witcher 3
@@MasculinitySimplified101 you should also use AFMF on top of them in the radeon software and make it a 1 second delay and get 480fps😂
I believe that in the future we will have something called cloud GPUS where we can connect to our main laptop or pc and play games with a GPU through the cloud. I feel like this is possible but hard to create but hey look at cloud pcs now.
To run this software 1st i need to set low frame rate on my game like 40 fps and enable lossless scaling software automatically trune my fps upto 120? Is it correct what i think about?? Plz tell me because whenever i enable lossless scaling my game fps get down upto 4 to 5 fps or game graphics look red red alover plzz help me
Know your monitors refresh rate first, then cap the frames half of your monitors refresh rate, set the game to windowed/borderless then then run the LSFG. If you have let's say 120Hz monitor and consistently getting 60FPS then you should cap frames into 60s then use 2X
do you have to play games windowed, or can u play fullscreen
Great for games that don't have native upscale or frame generation. I've had issues with titles that already provide this. Lowering frames down to 20 or causing ctd.
thats an additional 100 ms to input latency , thats a no no in any mutiplayer game.
thought so
