Dude why you gotta skip ahead to the modern bikes? If this was 15 parts I'd have watched this. This is truly entertaining and educational.
:) yeah. i was waiting to hear about the vmax after the honda magna but neeah. point taken with the jumping tho...it should be more than 10 episodes if he would start detailing the bikes :D
You never see bike commercials anymore
Just Gentleman you do but only when motogp, wsbk, or motoamerica is on
That's because most of us baby boomers are getting old,,,,,,fat,,,, and dead.
We're the last generation to really get our rocks off on bikes,,,, and not cell phones and mini vans.
Many of us boomers are MGTOW's,,,,,, so we can still afford bikes,,,,, because we are not hamstrung,,,, by cougars,,, and payments.
Those of us boomers that are left,,,,, still look at centerfolds of motorcycles.
Makes us wet......
We still want something exciting between our legs.
But there are not enough of us left,,,,, and still in the game,,,,to advertise motorcycles to,,,,, profitably.
haha your comment is pretty funny.. And sad, because there's probably at little truth to it .. I love that plural of hamstring :D
Over the time of this semester, I've convinced half my class to buy a motorcycle, they sell themselves :)))
This is it though, the bike manufacturers invite youtubers/vlogers like the baron to come to events and releases to make vlogs, or just lend them new bikes. They also offer give aways and discounted bikes to popular bike personalities online, so enjoy the new and improved commercials! (and bikes)
These two videos were extremely well made and edited.
But HONDA ORIENTED GIVING CREDIT TO HONDA WHERE ITS NOT DUE
“Powered by coke” lmao
I was waiting for some one to notice that lmao
Pretty funny marketing plug there, eh? Think the intent was to show that the Honda rider was not getting liquored up before riding their product. In retrospect, the noise candy reference is some funny shit.
- The illestrator - jake got all spun up on nose candy and went out to dead mans curve to really open that bitch up.... cocaine is a hell of a drug.. jake will be missed. RIP........
I notice that hahaha🤣🤣
I get this "soul" thing, but honestly that gets old real fast. Soon you just want something that works and does whatever you want.
yup.. I like the old brutish KZ's and CB's that Eddie and Freddie raced in the early 80's. It took a lot of tweaking to make them handle. It was great when Kawasaki came out with the ZRX, modern take on a classic. I own both old and the new. ..up until an asshat tried to wipe me out. I sit here typing this with a busted knee cap and a smashed REX. Ugh. I've been really checking out the new RS900 that Kawacker has out now. Modern tech with great looks. Just needs more POWER.
Personally I think the bike gets it's soul from the owner.
I've got several bikes.
Each one has it's own energy or soul.
Even my slightly modified 92 CBR 900rr as a soul. Probably because I rescued it from a neglectful owner and certain doom into a junkyard somewhere.
She's old, reliable and makes power when I ask.
Call me weird but I think she's thankful for my efforts in bringing her back to life.
Also have what most would consider close to museum quality ZX11. For some reason that bike feels like an old once King of the Hill and has nothing to prove.
Old, heavy and smooth.
My last and favorite bike I currently have is a 500 two stroke. RG 500 transplanted into a 93 NSR mc21 chassis.
This bike is definitely evil. It's a nasty little thing that I'm sure laughs at me.
Completely different than anything else I have. Brutal and unforgiving, super light and spot on.
This bike has a soul. I put everything I had into it. The closest thing I'll even get to a MotoGP bike. I'm 51 yrs old and I giggle like a little girl riding it. For the first 20 minutes I'm more charged up than if I was on cocaine.
I think you give the machine life when you pour your heart into it.
@@sharpsdoublerifle1439 Pleased to see your looking at a 4 cylinder,We have loads of twins popping up dressed up as sports bikes, One the other day 1100cc twin 100mph? Why bother?
@@franktaylor7617 RG500 I KNOW OF DEAD PEOPLE THAT HAD THEM,BUT NOT QUICK ENOUGH FOR RACING APPARENTLY EVEN BACK THEN
@@franktaylor7617 Yours is a better right up, I had the Suzuki GT550 two stroke triple in 77 0-60 in 7 seconds read recently KH750 standing quarter in 8 seconds at 130mph
The problem with Ducati's & Harley's is people pay a lot of money for them and realise later that they paid too much for what they got, so they try to substantiate a bad choice by talking them up. If you don't believe me take a test ride on a few and research reliability claims.
Japanese cruisers are just as or very nearly as expensive as HD's - I found this out when I was looking for a more "sane" motorcycle and looked at V-stars and Shadows. I ended up getting an '06 Sporty for $5K that has never let me down, and later an '04 Road King, for $9K, same thing. I ride one or both every day, I'm a daily rider. and avoid my car as much as possible. Super reliable bikes. Only bike I've owned that has left me stranded was a Yamaha Seca II. HD's are old tech and the Road King is slooooooow, but they are fun and reliable, have huge aftermarket support and are blank canvases for customization, and have a charm that I and many others believe lacking in contemporary Japanese bikes. Here in SoCal HDs are common as commuter bikes and they clearly get the job done on a daily basis.
Why do you not have over 100k subs by now... your vids are actually watchable compared to other motovloggers. Plus you’re in New York like me
I am blushing
Tru tru
My gooooood you and Ryan F9 need to collab on an educational short series. You can do the narration, Ryan the host/actor, write it together.
45 cubic inches under an easy chair, I'll take three because that's what motorcycling is all about . Emoji for lost & clueless
Just stumbled on your channel with this series, you are well spoken, and really appreciate the design philosophy. Watching your videos has been a pleasure... and then the cherry on top you say exactly what I would love to see in the end. A 6 cylinder 600 Honda would be my dream bike right now. You hit the nail on the head, you have the right idea, carry on!
Japanese bikes are best, and I really like the modern designs of the R1, kawasaki Zx10r and the GSXR.
You don't think the old "stretched cat face" R1 looked better? and when the Ninja's were more feminine? lol
You have a gift my dude. Just came across your channel and I’ve watched nearly all of your videos.
DUDE!!! love these videos, the little things you throw in with editing are friggin hilarious. i agree with the idea of creating new innovations for modern bikes, not just adding "electronic rider aids" but really pushing the envelope. keep up the good work bro.
Earned a sub. Editing, humor, everything, really great stuff, cheers.
Most entertaining video Iv watched on here for a while ....... good work
You really know your stuff with the old school bikes. I really appreciate you taking the time to clear to air and give proper credit to Japan for starting the things Ducati are known for now. You definitely have a Colionnoir style or he has yours but very entertaining. Will definitely support the channel.
You do an amazing job. Thank you for your work!
Bro I love your opinions and your production is awesome. Great music editing. Great quality vids
Just loved these two videos. It summarizes all I think about japanese bikes!
Thats why I love the triumph triples so much, so unique in sound an feel :D
That bike sounds almost exatly like my monster with and without the can! I love it!
My first bike was a 1985 VFR500. Loved that bike! Wish I still had it. Great series, thanks for making this!
Thanks for another entertaining & professional video
Loved these two vids. Great documentary on sports bikes since their inception! You know your shit! Thank you! :D
I was surprised you did not mention the turbo bikes from the 80’s. Just found this channel, awesome so far!
I love these videos. I got a 79 Suzuki GS1000, a 89 Yama FJ1200, used to have an 08 CBR600RR. Favorite bike is the FJ1200. I appreciate the engineering that went into these things.
Bruh. I love your vids. Keep them coming.
Absolutely love your videos, keep doing them like this!
:)
This was a great video. Nice, I've been thinking about bikes for years and this really shows some real intelligence and thought went into it.
Made my day... The funny bits were awesome....
I think that this is one of my favorite Motorcycle UA-cam videos, and You have great flow in your voice and are a very talented commentator. Happy to be subscribed and still very happy with the content!!!
I am blushing lol
Damn. What a great pair of videos. You've got some super high quality production going on here. Well done music, cuts, writing - keep it up.
Thanks alot
Great videos. Well done and super entertaining!
nice video, nice content! :D love the way you express yourself :D
Dude, you're videos are awesome! As a Suzuki fanatic (I've owned two GS500's, countless oil cooled GSXRs *over 11?, SV650's, Bandit's, etc) I can't believe you didn't talk about the 1985 Suzuki GSXR which came with a dry clutch and was basically a race bike with turn signals!
Benefits of a "dry clutch"
Still enjoying my 01 YZF600R. Love your Vids, keep up the hard work.
No wonder this was so educational and entertaining. The man from Brooklyn and those guys know heritage and history usually.
@- The illestrator - , Really good content..really good, and damn entertaining to boot. Thank you Sir!
Fantastic series bro!
Just found your channel, I’m blessed lol
Nice vid mate. As a proud VFR800 FI owner, I really appreciate your work. You nailed it!
i enjoyed both your videos. also loved my sv650n and love love your sv1000
I had a cbr 250 during my late teens. The little thing hauled ass while sounding like an F1 engine.Subscribed!
great vids bro, loved them
Play nothing but old Motorcycle commercials!! So entertaining!!!
Love this, how do you only have 14K subs, imagained like a few hudred K, absolutely loved it
40 years of history and evolution in 20 minutes, great vids.
You’re right about Honda...they had the chance to make a V4 fireblade in 2017 but couldn’t be bothered!
Very educational sir. You have just earned yourself a new sub.
Great vid man. All love from one new yorker 2 another. Keep doin u bro 👌💯
good work.good memory's of old bikes,subscribed
Great video series!
Love this series.
I really liked this video and the first part of it. Shows a lot of the innovation that was happening back in the past and makes me wish we had some more of that going on today, instead of everything just being 4 cyl 600 or 1000's like you mentioned
you earned a subscription with this two videos.
i think every manufacture has bikes worth owning. humans should just stop hating and start loving. loving, bikes, them self and others.
Your missing the point,It's called choice, Who wants to ride around on a Harley Tractor instead of a crotch rocket,Well Harley owner's
mate the best two vids ive ever seen. the tone is perfect. I bloody loved it and I thoroughly agree with you. ive loved small capacity two strokes for years and recently stumbled on the original italjet f125 two stroke parallel twin from 1997. just a nuts-o era in bike making right. the scoot is so finicky but when it hammers theres this feeling like 'fuuck thats amazing' for such a small machine. although Japanese scooters are virtually bulletproof they seem like appliances but the italjet, resembles a personality.
Brilliantly made video, man!
This was dope. And Variety of motorcycle engines needs to come back definitely
I love the video, man. Japanese machines are amazing, I've been toying with the thought of getting a newish sportbike for a while. I learned to ride on my dads GS1000 way back in the day and spent a lot of time riding my CB750SC Nighthawk (powered by coke). Nowadays I ride my Harley and just cruise. My transition to old man is nearly complete. But a GSXR-1000 sounds mighty nice. Keep riding!
Great videos man! Glad I found your channel. Like you, I like riding on 2 wheels whenever I can cuz its just plain fun. My latest is the Tuono V4 and got dam that bike is somethin else.
Ohhh you're luckyyyy
I love Japanese bikes. I had 3 at one point. Ninja 250, shadow aero 750 and an old vfr500! Which was in pieces when I bought it and it’s slowly coming together. Thanks for the video. I appreciate your passion!
Really like this series man! Subbed :)
I'm nostalgic about all those bikes but a new paradigm is upon us and it will change the landscape....
Damn, you got my juices going with that SV1000, I totally forgot about that!
Superb man - thanks for the vids! Subscribed!
Awesome content bro. loved it.
Great stuff once again.
Both videos had me dying. And made me appreciate my 2000 ZX7R even more.
LMFAO part 2 was even better. You sir are fucking hilarious lol
Something I think the Japanese could invest in, are smaller supersports. Here I think building bikes that are leaner than current supersports, maybe not with as much wind protection, and keep the weight low like 150-160kg dry (340-350 pounds). Add to this an inline 4 or 3 engine with just around 100hp, so the bike will not be as fast as a supersport, but more agile and flickable. I think this would make for very great second bikes, for all the people who do not wish to commit fully to a supersport riding style, but still want to have fun and experience some of the higher end power that all the 650cc bikes simply can not offer. Many people regard the 650 class as entry level because of their easy riding style and manageable powerbands (from the typical twin engines or de-tuned 4's). A lightweight 100ish hp 3 or 4 cyl pre-supersports bike segment would be a great hit worldwide I think, especially if the price can be kept lower than the 600 class.
Try to remember the rest of the world has standards! You can't ride a 1000cc as your first bike in many countries, Here in the UK it's a 125cc and then take and pass a test for 400cc, Honda made a mini blade a 450cc inline 4 good for 140mph
I own two Ducati's, but your videos are awesome. We are lucky as bike fans that we have such a wide choice.
Great couple of vids 👍
Really entertaining vid-great pace.
What an entertaiment video man. Congrats. You surprised me for good. Nice topic.
Enjoyed this, good production. Nice to see my bike, essentially, show up (Honda BROS 400, little brother of the Honda Hawk GT).
Awesome Video again man! Honda did make some kickass V4s. My Magna is my favorite bike I have ever owned. Ride safe ser!
Glad you put enough content in for 2 vids. great job. My Buell is similar to your SV in that it's unexpected when you roll up. Gotta love the V-Twin.
Which Buell do you ride?
2005 XB9SX I love this thing. went from a ninja 250 to this lol
Illestrator, I'm thinkin' you will be in Japan soon, sharing thoughts with their design teams. They may not really want you right NOW, but they do NEED you. Nice videos and great commentary.
Thank you for the video. It was epic. And educational too
Both vids were a great watch, I enjoyed the documentary style you had going.
And where's our 🥓!
Lmfao! I was hoping ya'll forgot about le bacon
Nic one bro !!! I was riding CB 72/77 back in the sixty,s age 16 in England , the sound of the six cylinders was so sweet , now living in Aussie Perth ,riding a Suzy bandit 1250 Abs ,age 67 ,it's never better MERRY XMAS from down under 🍺🍺👏🏻👏🏻
:D nice!
That had me reminiscing about my K4 gixer 😍 Lovely stuff as per usual mate 👍🏼😃👍🏼
That's a damn nice bike. might be my favorite year for the GSXR
- The illestrator - it looked fast standing still mate 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I recently got one, and I looooove it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing scared the shit out of me more than my uncles old v65 Magna. Very powerful bike.
Top shelf vids, keep it up. Can't wait for the next one.
K6 gsxr1000 tracked.
Series got my sub, keep up the good shit!
Good Job! new sub!!! I started riding in 1972; experienced the evolution of Japanese bikes...
I'm a Triumph guy but there is no arguing with Japans dominance. They have long had a serious attitude towards engineering excellence (frankly to the point of arrogance, though not necessarily misplaced) and that is really the core of any good bike. Couple that solid business acumen that meant us regular folk could actually afford to own one and bam it's success in a jar. Great videos man, really glad I found your channel.
I enjoyed both videos. Subscribed.
Great documentary your channel is really good
Good stuff bud 👍🏻👍🏻🤓 kinda fans the spark of me wanting to finish putting my 02 F4i together 🤔 anyway love the video, your friendly Pennsylvania neighbor 😁
"Even v-tech yo! 💪👊🙌" that part was funny to me .
I felt like it would be a crime if I didnt revive that dead meme lmao
It’s 2022 and Yamaha is just now making a sport bike with that inline 3 cylinder torque monster. Good call my man!
I love the background music!
Appreciate the historical perspective, but I think you are looking through rose colored glasses. While I agree that the Cbr1000 looked its best in the mid 2000's, other bikes like the Ninja zx10r, zx6r and the R1, R6 have only improved in their aesthetic appeal as the years have gone on. What I do miss is a simple bike with no electronic nannies or TFT gauges or ridiculously high price tags like we have today. Having said that, we have never lived in a better time to be motorcyclists with all the cool variety and styles of bikes available to us. Back in the day, it was pretty much just the big four with only a few designs to choose from.
the Z900 Might suit you, it only has ABS but if you disconnect that one,...well there's nothing left...oh and no TFT just a cool looking LCD.
spoonman73 R1 R6 looks improved-- think again. Check out some motorcycle forums, yamaha r1 and r6 forums, people were generally dissatisfied with the latest R1's looks, specifically its eyebrow headlight setup.
crosswire7777 It is my personal opinion, I never liked the looks of the old R1 though the previous R6 was a good looking bike. Also, there is always backlash whenever a new design comes out but I think more people have come to like the looks of the new R1. Personally, I think it is one of the coolest looking bikes and has one of the nicest TFTs even though I much prefer an analog Tach which Yamaha, coincidentally, makes a nice looking one of those as well.
spoonman73 that is your opinion indeed but if you could see the expression on my face right now it looks exactly like the latest R1 ಠ_ಠ
ripmax333 Yes the Z900 is definitely a cool bike especially for the money as you can get a good deal on a leftover one. Would seriously consider it if I didn't already have the Ninja 1000.
Well done man!
Damn I was so interested in part 1 it went by mad fast
Lol good as vids mate love it! And btw i have 3 of those CBR250RR inline4... and an RVF400 v4 400cc with a single sided swingarm...
Another great video. Had the same argument in bike shop just 2 days ago about late 80s early 90s VS 00 bikes in looks imo late 80s Honda's look amazing.
Great vid man keep it up
Awesome video!
make it 10 parts I loved this !!!!!!
its a great set of videos IMHO it really hits home with the styling and you can tell that Honda has an R&D budget from hell.
"I dont think so, Jake lives that way" idk why that had me laughing so much hahaha 1:05
