    Proof that history IS interesting. Its all about the delivery and these videos are a perfect example of making a potentially boring/why should I care subject really interesting. Well done!

    Funny how topspeed can be a selling point for street bikes. For driving on the road. With speed limits.

      Actually the top speed of the bike is an indication of how low you can make if rev at cruising speed, motorway speeds on a Hayabusa for example are 6th gear with the engine ticking over and you have endless power in that gear for overtakes, where as motorway speed on a 600cc the engine is revving considerably higher and there is no instant power for overtakes without dropping down the gears. Not everyone is as narrow minded as you think.

    • @WhiteGravey
      @WhiteGravey 6 років тому

      im sure you have gone faster on that overpriced dirt bike then most hayabusa owners have gone...

    One of the main reasons I love - The illestrator - is because not only is this channel motovlogs but also covers the history of motorcycles in a very interesting and informative way. It makes me understand and appreciate what we have today. Keep it up fam, you're one of my favourite UA-cam creators.
    Also, this is probably the only channel that can make documentaries and also make me laugh whilst learning.

      - The illestrator - It's still a popular spot to this day, in the summer when it's not raining (rarity here in the uk) the place is rammed packed with bikes. We just don't get the crowds chillin on the verge watching anymore, the police have none of it and move people on. The council are planning on installing average speed cameras soon too to kill the last of the fun 😡

    Awesome stuff. I own a Blackbird, my brother rides a ZZR1100. The 'Bird requires some work to ride it but has delightful controls, but his ZZR feels really nimble compared. But has more 'clunky' controls. Both great bikes in their own right.

    • @Theillestrator1050
      @Theillestrator1050  6 років тому +1

      The guy that taught me at the MSF ran this pristine, clean, original Blackbird and it was dope. Didn't even know the bike existed before he schooled the class on it

    • @Xearin
      @Xearin 6 років тому

      He did the course on one? Awesome :). Quite a change from the CBF500f and MT-07's they run the courses on here. 'Birds are a bit heavy, but really friendly bikes. I got a burgundy red '98 with carbs and Danmoto slip ons. I'm 6 foot 4 so I like a bit bigger bike. Here in the Netherlands they are quite affordable at this point in time.

    • @Theillestrator1050
      @Theillestrator1050  6 років тому +1

      Oh no they used 250's back when I learned. The Blackbird was his personal bike that he road to and from the school. They actually went to harley 883s afterward and if you want you can choose a grom too

    • @Xearin
      @Xearin 6 років тому

      Heh, that's pretty sweet tho. The courses work a bit different over here. Because they have these age/power restrictions (A1-A2-A full). Though the courses you take are really complete. You don't have a choice in bikes though. You get what the educator supplies. The CB500f's were pigs to be honest, the MT-07's are really sweet bikes imo.

Honda made the Blackbird, then Suzuki made the Hayabusa to say this bird eats that bird, then Kawasaki said "fuck your birds" and brought out the ZX14, then to make sure Suzuki didn't start 'getn' ideas they brought out their stealth weapon the H2R!! i'm glad to be a Kawasaki owner!! :-)

    The Ninja line has been troublesome at times but Kawi has never had to rely on motorcycles. The 85 turbobike was tuned back to allow the 900 and bigger eclipse the speeds and power. Twist of the wastegate and we are there. These are all really old machines that take true love to keep going. Hard to find parts that can be expensive. Buy out lots from junkyards if you can find them and have the room. Seriously, who ever needs to go more 150? I haven't.

    • @Theillestrator1050
      @Theillestrator1050  6 років тому +1

      One thing I seem to hear, and see online is that most of those bikes are still on the road in large amounts back in Japan. But I guess that WOULD make sense. Although it's kind of weird in relation to their stance on old cars.

    • @upsidedowndog1256

      - The illestrator - Only until you ride one. They handle and brake great. And are really fast. They are dinosaurous by now. And if they weren't I wouldn't be able to have one.

    That sucks, we used to be faster than the fastest cars back then, now we stand NO CHANCE of top end acceleration.
    I mean, yeah, 0-300 in less than 18s (average 1000cc bike), and H2R 11s, but our top speeds are embarrasing.
    We could've have more hp, insane acceleration and 350 km/h top speed for average bikes instead of 310...
