Great videos! I’ve been brewing for over 20 years now, but only just upgraded to the brewzilla. Currently deployed so not doing much but watching you has given me a pretty good idea of the small differences from my cooler setup. Thanks so much for keeping me motivated to brew when I get home!
Good stuff! Thanks very much for watching, thank you and cheers mate!
Love red ales I’ve been brewing a couple of American red ipas. So much grain goodness.🍻
Cheers Gash..this is my best favorite industry!!!
Beechworth, a nice area, and Bridge rd is a nice brewery.
Once Dan the man lets me get back to work, catch up on the backlog and pay a few bills I'm planning on heading down the Peninsula for the beach, bush, and beer.
Then maybe North towards Albury and stopping off many times on the way to help our country folk and sample their wares, including this one.
I've gotta give this one a go whilst I'm stuck in suburban jail.
Cheers!
Sounds like a good plan Gerry! :) Cheers!
Cheers for the video man. Going to brew it this weekend 🍺🍻🍺
Hope you enjoy it!
Absolutely fantastic video....
What a colour, I love an Irish red ale. The colour in the mash made me thirsty before you showed the beer! 🤣 well done Bridge Road, a great looking beer brewed at home by a talented brewer. Cheers Gash, Mike 🍻🍻🍻
Thanks mate, I can still whack one of your beers on the list if you want! Cheers!
Hi from Norway. I love to drink. Not only brewing like a scientist. The tasting goes on til its empty. The last one is perfect. Cheers :-) (Imperial Madness) Nøgne ø style 14,6 abv . Love this idea for a series. Can’t wait to see what is next! Beer looks stellar. Making me thirsty
Cheers Jake! Have a good weekend mate!
The Home Brew Network cheers mate. About to crack my amber ale. Turned out really nice!
Beautiful colour to that wort!
I agree :) Cheers mate!
one of my favourite spots as well. Do a good pizza too.
Cheers Gash! I reckon that was my introduction to Bridge Road too. Back when they had the green metallic look label. Cracking beer! I gotta try this recipe for sure!
Thanks for taking a look Stass!
My mouth was watering looking at those three being tested 😂
Hey mate, just wanted to leave a comment and let your know I reckon your vids are bloody excellent. Love the natural flow of it. Keep up the good work. And keep making that terrific beer. You’re a fair step up from my basic all-grain cooler-and-kettle set up, but it’s great viewing nonetheless. 👏👏👏
Matt Cooper thanks for the kind words mate. Cheers!
Beautiful color on that beer, nice vid!
Cheers mate!
Great video! I'll give it a try as I just bought some S-04 the other day to give her a go. I swore I was already subscribed to you, but I am now.
Love this series, can't wait to see what's next, I love the BR Robust Porter
That was nearly the beer that was going to get done. Cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork have you tried brewing a Baltic Porter?? Searching the net for some tips on this style ..
@@samstock6565 I havent, but BYO had an article.. So I copied it and stuck it here if you want to have a read. Cheers Sam! www.cellardweller.net/index.php/en/forum/porter/960-baltic-porter
@@HomeBrewNetwork That was an awesome read. I’m kicking off on this venture from a recipe on Gladfield’s site and as comparison from what I read it’s a good start ..it seems legit.
Cheers Gash..
Did well on the tonic, Doctor!
@@samstock6565 That second one is interesting, might make a good video!
Great Video, one of my favorite breweries , i too try to get up there as much as possible it helps a good pal lives near by!! if you can get the robust porter recipe then i'd be a happy man!! Celtic Red is amazing, thanks for this, and thanks to Bridge Road Brewers.. top notch!! Cheers
I was very close to doing that one.. but chose the red.. umm I'll what I can do! Cheers!
Really nice video mate, I haven’t had any issues with SO4 myself, but I’ve heard that others had. As you mention is all about how you treat and handle your yeast. Cheers!
Thanks for taking a look , cheers mate!
Whats happened here...? Your gone all professional in the video quality. Love it. I am from Shellharbour NSW and had a road trip to Bridge Road a bit over a year ago. Great setup and amazing beer. Good work Gash keep this coming.
Thanks Tony, cheers mate!
Video quality is great nice one!
Thanks mate!
I've just put together a recipe very similar, as I've been trying brew something like a Beamish Red which I drank about of as a younger me! I will be running it through Nitro tho .
Your vids are awesome and have helped me slot. Cheers🍺🍺
Thanks very much, cheers mate!
Great Vid and looking forward to having a go at it was looking for some info on the Electronic Refractometer you used.
Gday mate, there’s a link in the description. Cheers!
Do a St Peters ruby red ale. Can't get it here. Might as well watch someone brew it
The celtic is one of my favourites from bridge head. I will have to brew this reciepe soon. Currently brewing myself, in the boil for a Coopers XPA - like beer, whilst drinking a pint of a Coopers dark attempt i currently have on tap. Cheers for the content. Side note, the CPA yeast from the bottle destroys wort rapidly i have found, def faster than 1056)
awesome, coopers dark is great. cheers mate!
Thanks for recipe 👍
No worries at all! Cheers!
Nice video Gavin, both one and two look pretty damn good to me 🍻
hahaha well, I emptied both the kegs on the weekend lol Cheers!
looks great. Im in the states but would love to travel there after the lock downs are loosened.
yes, come down under! Cheers mate!
Mate this is one of my favourite places. I am blessed to have retired to Albury and my favourite ride on my motorcycle is to Bridge Road. Try the Duck and Orange pizza next time your there.
mmm they do some great pizzas.. Cheers Steve!
I'm really interested in the water profile and yeast and looking forward to you maybe revisiting that brew. Cheers 😎👍
Cheers mate!
I had similar problems with that yeast and switched to Lallemand Nottingham Ale yeast, it is brilliant, it is an English ale yeast but very clean and when finished it drops out of suspension unlike the Safale US 05 which everyone is using pale ales etc, I was thinking of brewing an Irish red ale but don't have all the grains at the moment and the way Australia post is at the moment it will take weeks, but this will be on my list
yes agreed.. postage sucks at the moment.. Cheers mate!
just got my delivery from bridge road brewers and opened the Celtic Red Ale bloody nice beer im new to this but watching your video has made to try this beer for my first brew love your videos keep them coming i hope i can get all i need here in adelaide if not do you have any good resouces over where you are i can get them delived to adelaide
Hi Gash!
Hope you and yours are all okay down under? I brewed this on Monday and I will update you on the results. Love the new local brewery videos, we should definitely support local brewers!
how was it?
@@beesting7198 it was great!!
Great video gash! Could you do a young henrys newtowner? My fav beer when i lived in sydney and it started me homebrewing when i moved back to ireland, iv tried to make a version but never got it right!
I can ask mate, I'll try. Cheers!
Really enjoying your 'no frills' commentary and video quality, makes for easy viewing. Am wondering why you oxygenate dried yeast though, have read it can have a negative impact.
It's not really needed for dry yeast but at the same time I've never heard that it causes damage. Cheers!
How often do you calibrate your PH meter? Before every reading?
Hey mate, I was wondering how you find your local water profile? I cant find a clear one online and my local pool shop could only help with a couple of sections. Cheers!
They are a never perfect and change all the time, I just kept digging the internet till I found some rough figures, even if you got a sample tested its very likely to be different next month. Contact your water supplier and ask them for the details you need. Have you seen my water vid? Cheers mate!
Great video!
But i wonder why don't you use irish moss?
Honey brewer whirlfloc is made from Irish moss or was that a dad joke ;) lol cheers mate!
I’m not good with s04 as I bottle it takes so much longer to carb in my experience.
it can be a real bastard lol cheers!
man, what pvpp do you use at the end of the boil? do you have a link where to buy it? congratulations for the good content of your channel! hugs from Brazil!
Gday mate, I don't know in Brazil where to buy it... It can be sold in a commercial mix called Polyclar. PVPP can usually be bought from wine suppliers too. Cheers!
at 8:36 what is that meter your using?
Refractometer - amzn.to/2Rx9a8f
Whats this digital refractions you have? Im interested...
This one Refractometer - amzn.to/2Rx9a8f cheers!
Which grain mill is that you're using?
it is a 3 roller Malt Muncher, although the 2 are good two Cheers! bit.ly/MaltMunchers
@@HomeBrewNetwork How do you rate it compared to the MaltZilla?
hello amazing recipe and color, where can I find the amounts for each grain? thanks
In the description. Cheers mate!
@@HomeBrewNetwork ohh I just saw it, thanks a lot I will be cooking this beer on weekend, thanks for showing us this recipe
Did you actually do a whirlpool addition of just a whirlpool.
Just a whirlpool if you look at the recipe link, you'll see the actual recipe I was sent. Cheers!

This is bizarre, I've just ordered a Brewzilla and other items, along with a grain bill for Irish Red Ale, and I got some of the Bridge Road Celtic Red Ale as my base. I didn't use their recipe though, I used the Raging Red Irish Ale from the Brewers Freinds website: (www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/170777/raging-red-irish-red-ale). Can't wait till the goods arrive so I can get cracking on it. Great video and love this documentary style.
awesome! hope it goes smoothly, cheers mate!
dextrose maybe?
How does this stand up to the Ye Old Amber Ale? Keen to blood my teeth into one of these
They are different, though the colour is the same, umm I guess, the ye old is more an American Style ale and this more UK style if that makes sense. I like them both but I usually head more towards US style beers personally. Cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork yeah for sure, that’s where I’m heading towards. I liked 4 Pines American Amber Ale and I guess this is the bar I’m striving for or the type I’d like to have a go at first. Cheers Gash...love your work.
Gash, what is your setup for raising the temperature of the wort? Love the videos!
of the wort? in the fermenter? heat belt and temperature controller. Cheers!
What was the ABV?
About 5.3%
The Home Brew Network just curious what's the highest ABV you've gotten with your robobrew?
@@dlsOHyes totally depends how you use it, batch size, boil length.. I did a 9% stout once, and another batch that was 13% after adding vodka soaked coconut and cacao.. I'm not a person that pushes high alcohol at all, I dont like it in a beer personally. I do 4-7% beers no issues or struggling. Cheers!
The Home Brew Network thanks for your input. Love your videos.
@@dlsOHyes Thanks very much mate, cheers!
🥰 😂🍻
You love it lol
why do you pronounce it the american way
I pronounce it the Australian way mate! :) because I'm Australian! :) Does it really matter? I don't get fussed about things like that, I'm sorry if it's caused some sort of offence. Cheers mate!
