Great video, thankyou. Also, just love the birds in the background. Doesnt get much more Aussie than the laconic crow.
Ha! Thanks very much, cheers!
Brilliant! One of the best I have seen 😊
Thanks mate!
Love the Local brewers series. Nice work Gash
Looks really good! Head seems to stay for a while too with nice lacing
It does! cheers and thanks!
Kegland need to give us a whirlpool arm that will hang over the side of the brewery so we can connect the brewery pump through the chiller and out a whirlpool arm, so mere mortals with only one brewery can whirlpool and transfer!!!
You're an ideas man! hahaha Cheers mate!
Cheers mate great video, once again
No worries Beefa cheers mate!
Greetings from Canada!
I am surprised it cools that well. Although it should be good (integrity) at least up to 50 to 60 C based on the plastic.
I have to make a 5L starter soon. Love old yeast…
yeah 50c is about as far as I take it, but could probably go a bit more. I just want the wort as cold as possible :) Cheers mate, thanks for watching!
Cheers Gash, pretty close looking from here Mate... nice simple grain bill looks real drinkable, you have again made me thirsty and I wish I didn't have work tomorrow... 🤣 awesome can art too real eye catcher cheers Mate hope alls well 🍻🍻🍻
Another thing, you really put the effort in, your vids are always informative and through. The other info you put in, like the recipe to share in brew father is wicked too. Hats off to ya Mate pretty cool I hope these breweries are supplying you with a few free beers! 🍻🍻
Awesome mate yum 😋
Thank you 😋
I've just re-watched your video. Good tip about bumping up temp after 2 or 3 days. And regarding your suggestion to dry hop at the end of fermentation in a conical, would there be anything wrong with dry hopping at the start of cold crash ? My fridge take several days to get down to 2 degrees Celsius !
I hope its balter xpa, when its fresh its a tasty beer!
It's not balters! It's a very new and independent brewery! Cheers!
as soon as you said "I bought the yeast from a place in Melbourne' I was wondering if you were referring to K** K***....and sure enough you were, good to see all the good ones went over to kegland, as for Saf 04 English Ale yeast, I find it can go to sleep half way through a brew, I switched to Lallemand Nottingham English ale yeast, it's my 'go too' ale yeast for everything now
s04 and most UK yeasts like that once they hot near 1.025 you have to bump the temperature and help it along, both breweries I have done videos for that use it or a variety of it, insist its a must do, and I agree because I like you have had them stall. Cheers!
Hi mate looks like a serious wort chiller there.. which one is it ?
Also what would cause the starter to be non active? I'm about to get into making my first one myself soon.
Cheers - nice vid!
Gash ya loose unit how the hell are ya ?? God to see ya still going man !
where have you been Mr Unscripted? People have been telling me that you have died, why won't you do any more brewing videos? this is unacceptable! how dare you!
My Verdant Yeast brews always stall at 1.024 and I have to spent days of effort getting it down and best I can manage is 1.020 and beer tastes too sweet. What yeast would you recommend for easy FG? Cheers
Hey Gavin where do you get the clamps you adjust on the hoses when your slowing it down cooling the wort into the fermenter?
www.keg-king.com.au/catalog/product/view/id/444/s/25mm-screw-type-hoffman-hose-clamp/category/16/
Hey Gav. Been loving your videos. Only been doing fresh wart kits from all inn brewing and extract kits from the country brewer. Looking at investing in a 35lt brewzilla. Would love if you would consider a clone of the Ferrell brewing co “Biggie Juice” east coast ipa. Has recently become my favourite 4 pack to grab from uncle dans 👌🏻
I could look into that for sure! Cheers!
Great videos. I recently brewed the 3 Oat Cream NEIPA. Came out great. You seem to prefer dry hopping through the lid rather than collection jar on your fermzilla. Why is that? Oxygen purge concern?
Just easier, lose less beer. Every brewery I've brewed with just throw the hops in the top. You need to be careful but done correctly everything is fine. Cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork Legend. Cheers.
Chucked this on my brew list for down the track. thanks mate. Noticed you have two different AA for the Centennial in the recipe. Also seen your max mash is at 20L? is that correct? I have robo 35 too
Good call! the boil one is the most important, well should be more accurate the rest dont matter much at all, as the dry hop or whirlpool . Cheers!
Damn, i need to brew this !!!!
Love your digital Hydrometer
Have you tried The Hopping Mechanism fron Facebook - his hops are outstanding
And he is a Melbourne boy
I have a tried, more than often he doesn't have in stock what I want, I actually did ask him for about 3 different hops at this time, one for this beer and some for others, but he didn't have any of them unfortunately. Cheers!
Seen this question put up before sorry for asking again. Whats that hose clamp you have, do you have a link for it?
Near impossible to find on the internet... I'm going to have to try and source some and distribute them myself I think! Cheers!
19 degrees Celsius or 19 PSI 😉
19c lol probably 9psi I dont take much notice of psi as long as its positive and its under 10psi mostly. Cheers!
Long time no see. Hope all is well mate!
Cheers Paul! Been a bit of a crazy time, had the covid shot and it knocked the shit out of me, been a bit crook! plus school holidays etc hard to get videos done, thanks for watching mate, cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork well glad to hear you're doing great! Been talking to the wife about going to your neck of the woods but this virus crap is getting in the way. Maybe late summer we will
Plan a trip been thinking about doing some gold prospecting. Always wanted to go there it's been a life dream
My issue with the false bottom is the location of the tap! Does this false bottom sit above the level of the tap better than the old?
I never took any notice mate, I've never had an issue with it?? Strange, whats wrong with yours? Cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork the nut on the inside is slightly too high, so the false bottom doesn’t sit flat on one side.. maybe it’s just mine!
Do you have both elements on?
for boil yes
Mr Slug! I see you had a live chat for this presentation, why didn't you send me a notification that that I could have participated in the live chat during the video? This had angered me! how dare you!
I'd love to get into your DMs
