I appreciate the fact it took 10 seconds to actually start talking about what the video is about. Nothing worse than sitting through 3 minutes of crap or "about me"!

Ruskinricky appreciate the comment, and couldn't agree more! I consciously made a point on all of my videos to get into the meat of it quickly as there's nothing worse than waiting for ages while someone brags or pitches something. For a similar reason I haven't put ads on any of my videos either. 👍

I have put together a similar formula, and see if anyone would like to comment or make a suggestion. Use 1/4 tsp. of NoSalt brand, which has 640mg of potassium, then 1/4 tsp. Real Salt brand of sea salt, which has 530mg of sodium, put in 8 oz. of filtered water and drink it. Then I take two capsules of Magnesium Glycinate, which has 175mg of magnesium. Together this is a single serving, which I take in the morning.

Read up on supplementing with MCT C8 oil from coconut I use Qetomax myself as it's good value for money. But that's a personal choice there's lots of brands out there. Just make sure it's C8.
It makes sure one is actually in ketosis by delivering ketones directly to the body. Read up on it. I find it helps with energy levels myself. ..but of course you'd have to see if it helps you personally and then decide. Taking a daily good quality multi vitamin is useful too. Stay healthy stay well! 😊

Animesh start off with only one and see how you feel. If you find you're still lethargic or are getting cramps (from lack of electrolytes) you could have a second. If you start having more than one regularly though it would be beneficial to calculate the entire amount of sodium and potassium you're having from all food sources in a day just to make sure you're not exceeding the recommended daily amounts for those minerals.

Here in the US we have Morton Lite Salt and it's a similar mix of sodium chloride and potassium chloride. The thing I don't like about the Morton Lite Salt is that it's iodized and when you mix it with water the iodine flavor becomes very strong. The iodine is such a nasty medicine taste that I sort of gag on it and it's hard for me to swallow.
I need to pick up some cream of tarter and give that a try. It has to be better than gagging down that iodine flavored Morton Lite Salt.

Hey Mark, great video- thanks. What do you think about adding a little stevia?

    • @ketokitchencollection8292
      @ketokitchencollection8292  4 роки тому +4

Hi Meljon - any artificial sweetener that doesn't have a caloric value and doesn't effect insulin levels will be fine to add in to make it taste better. I'm not at all anti-artificial-sweeteners, but I do avoid them if I can though, I'm just not convinced yet that they're totally harmless over the long term, and I have a sneaking suspicion that I personally may experience some addictive qualities in them (not sure if they're 100% known for that but I've seen anecdotal evidence anyway). Try adding in some Stevia to make it more palatable, and slowly reduce the amount of Stevia you use over time until you're using none at all. You'll absolutely be able to get to this point with small minimal changes over time. 👍

Hi razz, it all depends on the food. The only way to tell 100% is to tally up the potassium in the foods you eat and see what the total is for the day. If you're short then you can supplement. I just supplement regardless, as it's unlikely food will always provide enough from day to day. Having said that though, if you an get it from food it's generally the better option. Hope that helps! 👍

Iv been doing this for a few years, BUT what about adding 1 more thing, Magnesium Powder? I feel like iv been overlooking that mineral, it is after all part of the top 3 isn’t it?

You can get up to 84 trace minerals including Magnesium if you use Himalayan salt or Celtic Sea salt.

I don't think Epsom salt is the form of magnesium that is good to take.

Can you make this drink using ICE Sparkling waters instead?

    • @ketokitchencollection8292

Crystal this should be fine as long as the sparkling water doesn't have any sugar/carbs in it 👍

Can we take this if we are on intermittent Fasting?

Hi Norm, absolutely you can yes. IF is about timing macronutrient consumption into a certain window throughout the day, and these drinks are for micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). You can safely have one of these drinks at any time of day without materially affecting your fast 👍

I read that sea salt is not that good for us because it contains high levels of radioactive material and high levels of heavy metals like mercury.

    • @kimfroman2023

Yes, do not use white processed Morton sea salt. That is dehydrated sea water. Himalayan or Celtic or Real Salt are mined from ancient Sea beds that predate human pollution of the oceans. Real Salt is from Great Salt Lake in Utah.

It doesn't really matter you can use 4 ounces of water if you like and then chase it down with another half glass of water or no sugar lemonade whatever you want afterwards.

a few things dont add up
    - i think you need 4 or 5 times as much salt than what was presented
-also there is no magnesium . the stuff in pink salt is nothing

If ya can come up with something that has the other minerals electrolyte powders got, you could save me money. Might see if I can get some cream of tartar though

@@ketokitchencollection8292 im in argentina and that stuff is usually expensive, but i got magnesium chloride crystals on the pharmacy, for cheap, dont remember how much but it was way cheaper than the comercial electrolyte powders. Got cream of tartar too for cheap and then used sea salt. those 3 with a lemon, a little bit of stevia or some keto sweetener and you got a kind of gatorade tasting lemon drink!
