Thanks everyone, Mark 😎
I appreciate the fact it took 10 seconds to actually start talking about what the video is about. Nothing worse than sitting through 3 minutes of crap or "about me"!
Ruskinricky appreciate the comment, and couldn't agree more! I consciously made a point on all of my videos to get into the meat of it quickly as there's nothing worse than waiting for ages while someone brags or pitches something. For a similar reason I haven't put ads on any of my videos either. 👍
3 minutes? I get health topic video in my email with an hour of all about me.
I realize Im quite off topic but does anyone know a good place to watch new movies online ?
@Eden Ty I watch on flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
@Eden Ty Try Flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
I love that you got straight to it, instead of babbling for 5 minutes before getting to the point, liked and subscribed!
5grams cream of tartar 1 gram sea salt. Beer glass of water. Love it and thank you.
The best recipe!
Best video. Straight to the point. Thanks
Lovely, I don't have to buy those expensive electrolyte powders from Amazon now. Thanks for the video.
Yeah.. I spent 40$ for the electrolyte mix from amazon.. thank you , I cAn make my own electrolyte drink.
Same! LMNT is charging outrageous prices. I bought some and I love the taste but there has to be a better way! So glad to have found this video. Have you tried it yet? Did you like it?
@@healthhollow7218 yup, I was looking at LMNT just a minute ago on Amazon and that's why I was prompted to just search 'making own electrolyte drink' on youtube and came upon this channel. I already have these two ingredients in the kitchen anyway so money saved.
You still need magnesium in that water.
Thanks for this. Love your sign!
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
Top stuff mate, Thank you!!
Thanks. My problem on keto is electrolyte. I actually didn't know what to do. Thanks bro!
Thanks. New subscriber and thanks for getting right to the point.
Oh, that salt grinder tip. Wow. I would never have thought of that 😂. Thank you. 👍
I think a red looking lemon tasting selfmade energy drink would crush my entire world of belief ^^
great video, trying it out right now
Thank you, good sir!
Excellent thanks heaps !!
Thanks for this awesome video. I had the ingredients in my cabinet!
Great video with the doses in grams. Thank you
Food dye? What about hibiscus tea? It has a nice color.... 😁
Great idea
Thanks for the tips
No problem at all Stee, I'm glad it helped! All the best 👍
I make ice out of frshly squeezed lemon juice to make these drinks taste a little better. Thanks for sharing!
Thank You!
The ideal ratio of sodium to potassium is 1:3. That is to say you should have 3 times as much potassium than sodium.
5 gram of cream of tartar and 1 gram of sodium (sea salt)
another electrolyte is lite salt 3 grams
Awesome! Thank you! I use Cream of Tartar for my kids playdough, had no idea I could use it for an electrolyte drink lol 😂
Same! I use it in play dough too
You use it in some baking too. 😁
Found out about the benefits of borax the sane way
New subbie! 👏🏽
Thanks for sharing ❤️
Love the accent 😊
Great video
Thank video 😊
Mix the Lite Salt in a little warm water from the kettle. Dissolve the salt then add it to a glass of cold water. Fully dissolved. Drink
Hello Welsh Dragon ....I'm a WD too ...lol... Ceredigion. Which lite salt do you buy here in Wales? I'm new to this....and does it break a fast? Will it hinder or help fasting? Diolch!!!
Straight up. No BS
Every morning I drink a glass of water with cream of tartar, sea sale, apple cider vinegar and lemon. It's actually very tasty and keeps my electrolytes at healthy levels.
At last! An Australian version of the recipe with local ingredients!!
This stopped my heart from racing on Keto👍🏽
Cream of tartar is EXCELLENT at removing stains. Especially sweat stains on hats! Just make a paste and scrub into stain, let sit, rinse.
Thanks for this wonderful video. so does that means there is no need to take potassium and magnesium citrate supplement.
I have put together a similar formula, and see if anyone would like to comment or make a suggestion. Use 1/4 tsp. of NoSalt brand, which has 640mg of potassium, then 1/4 tsp. Real Salt brand of sea salt, which has 530mg of sodium, put in 8 oz. of filtered water and drink it. Then I take two capsules of Magnesium Glycinate, which has 175mg of magnesium. Together this is a single serving, which I take in the morning.
Wow, I have been spending a FORTUNE on premade electrolyte powders (3 servings per day). Thank you!
Thanks ❤
Thank you
I use the lite salt and lemon BUT i add ĺ10 to 15 drops of liquid magnesium from ancient lakes magnesium W.A. ticks all the boxes then for a full mineral spectrum.
The Aussie accent I love
Wow thanks for this. I went to a 48 hours fast and I'm sooo tired. I realized that I'm lacking electrolytes. I can now do a longer fast because of this! ❤️
Cj Claflin shut up
@@clenjones5748 what have I done to you?
Cj Claflin nothing. How are you? :)
Drink pickle juice it will help your fasting alot!
@@clenjones5748 lmao
Yes, Lite Salt, by Morton, is available in the USA. I add a little Pomegranate powder, powdered lemon, or a crushed fruit flavored Tums, for flavor. Pomegranate powder has more carbs. With these powdered ingredients I can put them in a ziplock bag and take them to a restaurant, or when camping and hiking.
Does it matter that it contains dextrose?
Just found your video! This is such a great idea and will definitely save me money. TFS
Hi, can this electrolyte drink be used during fasting?
Had to add 15 drops of stevia to this homemade electrolyte,,, man what a difference. Is such a refreshing drink when sweetened and chilled with ice. 👍❤️
Heard stevia has a law suit against it it was tested to cause cancer or something like that
Thanks
How much salt and cream of tartar you need if you want to make a gallon of electrolyte drink? And how much glass of electrolyte water you need to drink in a day?
Will the carbs in these drinks break a fast?
Food dye ,I was gone after that. But to each it own.
A splash of cranberry juice and a few drops of stevia makes it better.
You don't have to do that
Thanks for sharing your homemade keto electrolytes drink.
No problem at all, I hope it helps! 👍
Is this OK for fasting? Or will it break a fast?
i wash dishes as occupation, on keto i find the work brutal thanks for the recipe, no longer will i experience severe fatigue, btw if robert deniro had his own cereal brand hed definitely call it "honey nut deenrios"
Take care of yourself and good joke lol
Read up on supplementing with MCT C8 oil from coconut I use Qetomax myself as it's good value for money. But that's a personal choice there's lots of brands out there. Just make sure it's C8.
It makes sure one is actually in ketosis by delivering ketones directly to the body. Read up on it. I find it helps with energy levels myself. ..but of course you'd have to see if it helps you personally and then decide. Taking a daily good quality multi vitamin is useful too. Stay healthy stay well! 😊
Wow thanks this is much cheaper than what I but 🤪🤪🤪 and always have cream of tartar
Regular table salt contains potato starch to stop it sticking, I would avoid on keto.
How often do you take this, 1, 2 times a day?
5 gram of cream of tarter about a heaping teaspoon, 1 gram of salt mix with 8 oz water.
Method 2 lite salt. Has potassium in it. Use 3 grams edge of teaspoon.
How often should I drink one of these please?.
@@AjaxBoomboom I read somewhere to limit the cream of tarter to one teaspoon a day.
I add sugar free water enhancers to mine. With cream of tartar and sparkling water.
I like how you say things
Me too 😂, especially when everything he does is popped in.
I have read that any salt that is white has been bleached; bleached because the magnesium that is in the salt absorbs moisture and will not pour from it's container easily. Anyone heard this? Is this true?
Thanks Mark great info.
How many glasses a day would you recommend to someone on Keto diet?
Animesh start off with only one and see how you feel. If you find you're still lethargic or are getting cramps (from lack of electrolytes) you could have a second. If you start having more than one regularly though it would be beneficial to calculate the entire amount of sodium and potassium you're having from all food sources in a day just to make sure you're not exceeding the recommended daily amounts for those minerals.
Keto Kitchen Collection Awesome. Thanks Mark.
Does the salt have magnesium?
Cheers mate
Hi yeah i like the lite salt one but i use no sugar lemonade and a small squeeze lemon and it is a pleasant drink taste wise☺️
how many of this glasses are you allowed to drink in a day? 5,6,7 or 10 glasses?
I'm not keto but this is helpful and way cheaper. I'll probably just dump some of this into a carb drink tbh.
I add some cacao powder (magnesium) and a few drops of stevia to round out the electrolytes
Is the Great Value cream of tartar just as good? Walmart is the only market near my town.
Cream of tartar is one of those things where brand isnt important. It's all the same.
Thank you for sharing. I just bought some lite salt and am preparing now. One note for future, I don’t recall you indicating the number of ounces of water. Probably because it doesn’t matter, just mentioning.
have you had it yet, if so was it nice, and do you recommend ?
Food dye yeah that's wonderful
Hi mate, thanks for sharing this amazing tip. I am in sydney, and I have started my journey on Intermittent Fasting and gradually worked towards extended 72 hour fasting ( water only, just black coffee, green tea ). On the 3rd day I have been feeling slightly dizzy, nauseous.. I guess its the lack of minerals might have been hurting me. This is exactly what I needed. Is there any specific recommendation when I am water only extended 3 day fast with regards to the amount of salt I should be taking ?
brother you can go and just do a dry fast….
I have recently started keto and I am going through a lot.
@@RAMNIKK bhai dhire dhire karo, thik rahega. Take it easy and slowly, it's like any kind of training.
Gradually step up to your final goal will work out :) good luck!
Potassium citrate is okay?
Cream of tartar I could only find as cream tartar to make daugh
. Is it that??
No magnesium?
It has been impossible for me to find an other electrolyte that didn't have maltodextrin or some other horrible sweetner, and I couldn't find a good pottassium to make my own electrolyte. I can't believe its been cream of tartar, in my cupboard this whole time
Nusalt or Nosalt is potassium too
I’ve been using Morton’s Lite Salt in the US for roughly the last 3 years. I can’t stomach paying $100+ per month for electrolytes that are pre packaged. I’m a cheap bastard.
Brilliant 😅
🤣🤣
What else do you put in your drink?
@@beckydampier8805 Morton’s lite salt, some sea salt (or pink Himalayan salt), lemon juice, cream of tartar, and some “Calm” powder that is essentially just magnesium.
@@beckydampier8805 i use magnesium citrate, potassium citrate, kosher salt and either papaya or pineapple powder for taste. Careful with magnesium and also the salt makes it taste a bit strange. Could add lemon for taste and health benefit. Also keep in kind the cold the water the better it taste and that potassium is the most important mineral
Here in the US we have Morton Lite Salt and it's a similar mix of sodium chloride and potassium chloride. The thing I don't like about the Morton Lite Salt is that it's iodized and when you mix it with water the iodine flavor becomes very strong. The iodine is such a nasty medicine taste that I sort of gag on it and it's hard for me to swallow.
I need to pick up some cream of tarter and give that a try. It has to be better than gagging down that iodine flavored Morton Lite Salt.
@Coaching With Kelly you are right I just bought that brand!
Drink it with no sugar lemonade soda, it's really nice that way
You need iodine, it's not a problem.
Iodine is good for brain function
What about magnesium? Epsom salt?
Hi, thanks for a to the point and informative video. what about the calcium and magnesium needed. any way to add those to these recipes, or are they not as necessary
Magnesium, you can take capsules of chelated magnesium. Calcium you really don't need to supplement if you supplement vitamin D3 in a good quantity.
I used to lick black salt( solid one) when I was a kid 😋
How many glasses a day? Just one? thanks.
I did MgMind capsule about .4 in each drink
Is magnesium not as important?
I thought pink salt way better!
is that electrolite for once a day or I have to make it several times during the day?
once a day , he said that
Electrolyte drink has so making my a fib go ..hardly any now
Can you color it with strawberries or any other berries 😜🍒?
Wonder if it would be ok...safe to add my 2 tbl spoons of ACV with this cocktail?
Yes it is
@@fatmahasan5091 I think ACV has potassium so you've got to watch it
What about magnesium
When is the best time to take this?
How many electrolyte drinks a day ?
Hey Mark, great video- thanks. What do you think about adding a little stevia?
Hi Meljon - any artificial sweetener that doesn't have a caloric value and doesn't effect insulin levels will be fine to add in to make it taste better. I'm not at all anti-artificial-sweeteners, but I do avoid them if I can though, I'm just not convinced yet that they're totally harmless over the long term, and I have a sneaking suspicion that I personally may experience some addictive qualities in them (not sure if they're 100% known for that but I've seen anecdotal evidence anyway). Try adding in some Stevia to make it more palatable, and slowly reduce the amount of Stevia you use over time until you're using none at all. You'll absolutely be able to get to this point with small minimal changes over time. 👍
I totally agree, thanks again Mark. Looking forward to more great videos.
Stevia is not an artificial sweetener.
Do you need potassium supplement on keto or is food enough?
Hi razz, it all depends on the food. The only way to tell 100% is to tally up the potassium in the foods you eat and see what the total is for the day. If you're short then you can supplement. I just supplement regardless, as it's unlikely food will always provide enough from day to day. Having said that though, if you an get it from food it's generally the better option. Hope that helps! 👍
Iv been doing this for a few years, BUT what about adding 1 more thing, Magnesium Powder? I feel like iv been overlooking that mineral, it is after all part of the top 3 isn’t it?
You can get up to 84 trace minerals including Magnesium if you use Himalayan salt or Celtic Sea salt.
yeah. the epsom salt. it's just optional tho. you can add it if you're very physically active
I don't think Epsom salt is the form of magnesium that is good to take.
Buy a bag of magnesium glycinate
Do you have a glass each day ?
Yes, it's like an insurance policy for warding off electrolyte deficiency. 👍
Can you make this drink using ICE Sparkling waters instead?
Crystal this should be fine as long as the sparkling water doesn't have any sugar/carbs in it 👍
Can we take this if we are on intermittent Fasting?
Hi Norm, absolutely you can yes. IF is about timing macronutrient consumption into a certain window throughout the day, and these drinks are for micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). You can safely have one of these drinks at any time of day without materially affecting your fast 👍
I never knew that! Damn my ignorance, thank you so much!
I read that sea salt is not that good for us because it contains high levels of radioactive material and high levels of heavy metals like mercury.
Yes, do not use white processed Morton sea salt. That is dehydrated sea water. Himalayan or Celtic or Real Salt are mined from ancient Sea beds that predate human pollution of the oceans. Real Salt is from Great Salt Lake in Utah.
Hi, how much water per serving? 8oz?
It doesn't really matter you can use 4 ounces of water if you like and then chase it down with another half glass of water or no sugar lemonade whatever you want afterwards.
a few things dont add up
- i think you need 4 or 5 times as much salt than what was presented
-also there is no magnesium . the stuff in pink salt is nothing
If ya can come up with something that has the other minerals electrolyte powders got, you could save me money. Might see if I can get some cream of tartar though
I'm always on the lookout for stuff like that, so will definitely let you know! 👍
@@ketokitchencollection8292 im in argentina and that stuff is usually expensive, but i got magnesium chloride crystals on the pharmacy, for cheap, dont remember how much but it was way cheaper than the comercial electrolyte powders. Got cream of tartar too for cheap and then used sea salt. those 3 with a lemon, a little bit of stevia or some keto sweetener and you got a kind of gatorade tasting lemon drink!
Interesting never heard of cream of tartar
