trying Scrivener again, the value of reading as a writer, new fantasy books | a writing vlog

last vlog from holland! I've started using Scrivener again (and honestly it is doing wonders for my organization) and I've now finished creating an updated outline for this draft. I also started some new books, including Powerless by Lauren Roberts and Howl's Moving Castle. It's exciting to be getting back into reading like I used to.

Now that you mention it, I'm also a writer that stopped reading after high school! I read pretty sporadically now (and I have a LOT of books on my TBR). Maybe you're the sign the universe wanted to send me to read more 😂❤

If you like the book, then it doesn't matter what others have to say. You can enjoy things which are objectively bad, i.e. poorly written, bad arcs, etc. They can just be entertaining. (I say that because nobody I follow has liked that book. 😂)

very true! I have to keep reminding myself of that, because before I edited this video, a lot of the footage was me justifying my enjoyment when I know there were a lot of technical issues with it 😅 I'm trying to get better at just enjoying things without needing to validate them
