I was just there last week. It truly is beautiful as is the rest of Croatia. We‘re fortunate to live in Austria so we‘re able to visit Croatia frequently.
Would be great if we could get the Habsburgs back, our local politicians are going to be the death of us.
@@Cyricist001 Well the Habsburgs were good for us in terms of better than to be under the Ottoman Empire. After World War I, when the Habsburg Empire broke apart, we should have stay at our own. The politicians aren't popular in other democratic contries too. We are still practising and like in other post-communist states Croatia is still suffering from the old habits like corruption etc. I hope, one day we will overcome those adversities! In order to reach this goal we have to learn and to show social cohesion instead of looking for diversities. It's a long way...

There was no way after WW1 to stay independent, Serbia and Italy both had claims as victors on large parts of our territory, and the leftovers would have been and easily taken over by anyone that tried.
Well, we saw cohesion between common people after the earthquakes of 2020/21, but the government managed to bungle its part. Winter is approaching and the politicians haven't even started discussing how to keep theses folks warm, just like they failed to buy them air conditioners on time during the summer heat wave.
😃😃
Your videos bring me so much joy! Thank you so much for doing this. I'm a third-generation Croatian American and it saddens me how so much culture disappeared in my family so fast. But!!! You showed me that the fear of drafts and ALWAYS wearing house slippers of some kind is from the old country, and I'm so happy to know it :-) Thank you, Sarah & Ivan! Your kids are so adorable, too! I've seen all your videos and each one is a gem. Keep up the amazing work!
Pula is beautiful 🥰🥰 been there so much times 🥰
Yes, it's a really beautiful place, we enjoyed it :)

i was 2018 in pula, just 100m away from the arena was the airbnb. on evening we were in one cafe next to the arena and accidentally we saw an stjepan hauser concert for free.
Hi Niko, I am Emanuel, from Milan (Italy). At the start of Semptember I am visiting Pula. I cannot rent a car since I do not have a credit card. May I visit the sorroundings (i.e. natural areas, parks etc) as well? I am going to use "ferry boat" or bus.. What's your take on this? Thank you
We arrived in Croatia yesterday and just adore your videos. Looking forward to visiting Pula (&many other cities). Thank you for sharing!
Zadar is good choice. U live near Zadar. 🙂
Your family is beautiful and the kids are so well behaved. Fun day trip, thanks!
Ako niste, obavezno posjetite Hum i Motovun, također Rt Kamenjak! 🙂🙂
Bravo for all the energy you have to go around with the three small kids!!!👍👍
Thank you!! It can be challenging at times!! Lol
I was there many times on koncerts , like balasevic , oliver , and the energy was super cool . I like Pula
some of today's finest musical acts have performed in the arena such as sting, foo fighters, alanis morissette, leonard cohen, norah jones, diana krall, etc.
And 2cellos ofc
Would like to see more films on how croatian festivals (like your May day film) are celebrated, including Christmas. And more videos with your father in law. He is so much fun!
Great! This is croatia!
Love your little family and your adventures!
Love the video. I live in Canada, was born and lived in former Yugoslavia. My plan was to visit Pula which had never happened before when I lived there. You are such a beautiful family, thank you for a great video!
Like many places in Croatia Pula is just a beautiful, off to cavtat in 2 weeks to explore some more places. 😁😁😁🏴
Pula looks amazing ! Oli is a UA-cam star in the making . I noticed the camera vision went down about 3 feet 😂
Divno, kao i uvijek!
Samo jedan je Koloseum i taj je u Rimu! Ovo je Arena!
PULA TO JE RAJ!🇭🇷
Jedva sam čekala ovaj video!!!
Love my hometown, it is always nice to see other people find it interesting and beautiful too :) I only wish I could visit the place more often to see my friends and family since I moved years ago. Did not knew they put elevators from Zerostrasse to Kaštel, that is awesome! Last time I was in there, half of the tunels you show in this video were still closed for the public and were being renovated. Thank you for the great video! BTW, your kids are so nice and cute!

What!? I was just there the other day! Cool!
5:59 Wonder why kids always climb on cannons...but ok, perhpas it's some kind of playground for the kiddies. :) Wonderful location, I love Pula and of course the arena. This "black rice", I wouldn't recommend it for a first date. 😎 Good job, Sarah, Ivan and family!
Visit Vinkovci (oldest town in Europe) :)

Very nice
Pozdrav Sarah very good and interesting video 📷👍❤️
Lijepo 👍👌😊🙌
Super 👍
Passareta is not a coke type drink. It's taste is more similar to Sprite or 7up , but different. It is a soft drink made from herbal extracts.
Summing up, there's nothing to see in Pula, except the Colosseum. We were about to go there tomorrow, but I don't know now.
I'm going to be there on the 16th
Or not... *cries* I am so sick of this pandemic. This is the second year I've had to cancel this trip.
Love your videos! Your children are precious.
My home
👍👍👍
I live in Pula
There are bigger colosseums, but none of them are as well preserved, and there are better preserved colosseums, but none of them are as big.
1:49 It's not the Colosseum, it's the Amphitheater or simply Arena.

In Pula is "Arena", In Rome is "Colosseum"
and when you eat black risotto, it's cuttlefish not squid, except for black teeth, in the morning it is black and in the toilet too..... ha ha ha 😁

Black risotto is not from a squid but cuttle fish and its ink..
What do you guys do for a living? How can you afford all these trips? You must have a lot of free time on your hands as well. I think you mentioned in some video that you run a travel agency but I don't assume the business is booming, given the corona situation.
Nenad how come you care about them? You are jelous little bradonja
There is only one Colosseum - the one in Rome. All others are arenas, not colloseums.
Croatia is nice but if you were born there you see it differently. The main places to visit tourist places are always maintained, and where people visit while coming on holidays, the other part of Croatia is abandoned. People around the world pay little attention to the history of Croatia it isn’t all that beautiful.
So sad almost all tourist pick up commercial restaurant like Alighieri which they serve avarege food at best.
In roumanian langueges PLA is a ugly word😂
The countryside is very scenic. But the town is not that impressive as a place to live - just lots of relics of a bygone age sandwiched between decayed infrasstructure. It seems a place for history buffs.
Croatians should change the name of this city because this is a very embarassing word for some people from the East of Europe ..
Maybe you should change your word. The city has been here for longer than your country was using that word.
@@ivanjelenic5627it was originally called POLA when it belonged to ITALY 🇮🇹 MY parents were born there & it was POLA ! It was part of ITALY Era la città de i mi Genitori 😢my Grandfather owned a house just behind L’Arena de POLA my Father grew up in that house 👌🏼🇮🇹
Nice video for the architectural beauty of the city. You and your family are lovely! But the true Pola died in 1947 when all the Italian people (about 99% in downtown Pula) was force by violence to leave their land for ever. Now it's Pula. Long life to Pula but it has nothing to do with our beloved Pola.
Why?
This is not quit true!
History goes on like this: from the old comes the new, and sometimes the new is better than the old. The old Pola will live on in our hearts as long as some of us are still alive. God bless the new inhabitants of Pula. Take good care of it.
Great video.
