Great review mate! Very professional 👍 I got a PRS SE 594 in April, and it’s blown me away with its quality when it comes to comparing it to other mid priced guitars out there. Definitely the best LP style guitar I’ve ever played! I’m very interested in trying out the DGT now too after seeing your review
I had one and used it as a trade to get a PRS CE Dustie Waring model. (AWESOME GUITAR. The Mojotone PUPS are incredible) I love the CE, but I've wanted to get another SE DGT. Found a great deal on one and it's on the way.
The treble bleed prevents high frequencies from being dumped to ground so quickly as you turn down volume. Usually your highs are the first to go. This gives the impression that volume is rolling off slower as it feels / sounds more uniform if that makes sense
Great demo and explanation of the tones on the guitar . One of the features of a lot of PRS guitars are the coil split giving you a usuable tone . I’ve got a Les Paul Classic and the splits on that are just ok although you can get the Greeny tone if you want ( imho) . I’ve only briefly played the DGTSE and found the pickups a bit dark but maybe needed to try the coil split and rolling off the volume . When I played the PRS I also tried a Revstar with P90s and found it easier to get a few different sounds from bright cutting to gutsy -both guitars are similar in price so a close call !!
@@ericvan955 thanks man! It’s a preset I created on the boss gx100. I can’t remember what my signal chain is but I can share the live set if you have a GX?
It’s a brilliant guitar. It’s the only guitar I use live now, pretty much does everything. I never liked a large neck or lower output pickups…. Until now.
To answer your thumbnail - it could almost be perfect for me - love mine, would recommend to anyone. Possibly my easiest playing guitar of all my guitars. The split works great, pickups sound great, trem is excellent and love the dual volumes and treble bleeds (so versatile) and very very resonant. All i am playing currently (also have USA strats and LPs). Even david grissom uses his out on tour. my DGT SE is so much better than my CU24 SE. They seem to have put some real effort into the DGT SE..
I watched many videos about different PRS SE models and they all seem to be "versatile" and the coil split "usable". Maybe I should simopy buy the cheapest one. Which one is the most versatile with or without piezo?
The split is wired so you only lose 25%, the inner coil stays in full, rather than a ground wire to send the outer coil to ground is replaced with a resistor so only 50% of that coil goes to ground. To my ears that retains more fatness than Fender single coils, and it's almost like a P90? Rolling down the volume in split mode to around 7 with the treble bleed kicking in, then to my ears it starts to sound a bit more Fender style single coil but not completely. Live I reckon it's great and for the first time in many many years I've taken just one guitar to a gig.
Great demo Andy , lovely tones … tempted to get one of these !

I got one and I prefer it over my Gibsons which were double the price, I love mine. Great video.
Thanks, man! I can’t think of another guitar on the market where you get this much guitar for the price
Great playing !!!

@@andydavid9 well i would consider buy a GX just for your preset! Lol, did you just plug in the GX to audio face?

Maybe more telly like?
Does it want to slide off the back of your leg like a Les Paul when you're sitting down?
@@Memyabc no man, it’s really well balanced
