  • We did a regeneration on this Vauxhall Astra 2011. As it came up with DPF FULL on the cluster and flashing DPF light. We reset the sensors and then did the regeneration. The fault code that came up was P2463.

    As a owner of a astra gtc 2.0 sri cdti does approx 80-100 mile daily I get this every 2 days. So have to go down the motorway in 4th gear 2500rpm. Even after a regen at the garage still about 3-4 days after I had this issue.

      the best way to regen is go down a dual carriageway in 3rd and at 3500 revs it does sounds a little harsh on the engine only because it's in 3rd. drive in 3rd at 3500 rpm for 10 minutes, I do 15 minutes and don't have to regen for another 6 months. it needs to get really hot to burn off the hardest of soot buildup and this is the best way.

    • @sadiagnostics
      @sadiagnostics  2 роки тому +1

      @FunkinAffiliate correct, however this specific car cannot be performed on motorway as it was fully in limp mode. And there’s no way anyone would risk driving 30/40mph on motorway. So only way to fix and solve this right now is to do a stand still regeneration. However if your car isn’t fully in limp mode then I 100% agree with recantation whilst on motorway…

    • @sadiagnostics
      @sadiagnostics  2 роки тому

      @FunkinAffiliate yeh that’s fine give it a shot and see how it goes. If it doesn’t resolve it then just reset the sensors on dpf and try another motorway or do a stand still regeneration. Plus this time of year stand still regeneration is ok as it’s not too hot.

      @@sadiagnostics Any advice would be awesome guys, I recently bought a similar spec to this vehicle as im commuting 100 miles daily in a new job up the motorway, but i am a little nervous having seen the horror stories 😅
      1. Are there specific revs or speed the car should be used at for the car to run its regen cycle naturally? i have checked all the information that came with the car but i cant seem to find much info about these parameters.
      2. Would the car need this cleaning done anyway at some stage even with its normal amount of regen being done on a regular basis?
      (i do lots of miles but if my wife drives it for a day or two just around town i was wondering would a regen be something i could do on the weekend taking it on a long run to try to offset this issue in the video needing to be done)

And if it doesn’t come up as red then I suggest you do a manual dpf regen on motorway in gear 3/4 and revs being around 3.5rpm doing 70mph. If that doesn’t help then you can take out the dpf and clean it at car wash.
