@@mdmcdd1117😂😂 well he hasn't played in years......but when he did , was an Allstar for years was on the greatest team ever assembled (arguably)....was considered the mvp of that team, won league mvp over Jordan, has been voted one of the top 50 players of all time, managed to stay relevant today.....not exactly overrated 😂.

I am 51 and watched Barkley from college and the NBA, He was a matchup nightmare for opposing teams because he would overpower small forwards in the post and was to quick and athletic for big forwards. I saw him dominate games by himself many times, a game changer.

@@TerraRyzinglivesnah the sixers org made a bunch of mistakes. Trading Moses and trading the 86 1st overall pick (daughterty, Harper, price, sabonis, Rodman, etc) for Roy hinston will absolutely close a window fast. And it did. The sixers had a chance to rival the lakers and Celtics into the 90s.
And That’s not getting into Toney’s misdiagnosed ankle injury that ruined his career.
We swept a great lakers team, then had a couple early exits, and sold the team. Tragic. And everyone besides doc was young enough and Moses would’ve faired better with Barkley as his career matured at the time.

A freak of nature with his athleticism, despite his relatively short height at the PF position. Combine that athleticism with his tenacity for rebounding and a bad ass attitude with confidence, with an excellent scorers touch from both inside and outside the 3 point line, crafty passing skills, eagle eyes with the court vision, stout and aggressive defense and a high basketball IQ. I was so lucky that I met him when I've been on holiday in the USA, and I've got his autograph. Listen, I'm 6' 2", it's IMPOSSIBLE that he is only 6' 4". He definitely is 6'6".

Ernie is 6'2 and Kenny is 6'3 compare them to (6'4) Chuck who is the same height as 6'6 Jordan. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. Chuck diminishes himself. But Charles Barkley the NBA player was 6'6.

If Sixers were to trade him, the should have got something decent. Jeff Horncek is a good player, but no equal to Charles Barkley. Harold Katz says he regretted the trade- but it was Barkley who forced his way out.

I wish this guy had a ring before he retired. Him, Stockton, and Malone. They deserved it. Unfortunately, for Sir Charles, he had to deal with Bird, then Isaiah, then MJ in the East. You just can’t win with those guys in the same conference

He played both SF and PF. He has a very long wingspan and he has a lot of strength and a knack for the boards. He's shorter than MJ in pictures with him, so he's probably around 6'4. Ben Wallace was one of the best defensive centers because of his strength. He was only 6'7, 6'9 at most.

Barkley was 6'4 3/4" barefoot when measured. That's not the real height thought.
The Guinness book correctly measures height after a full night sleep and an uncompressed spine. Barkley's true height was,at least 6'5 1/4" barefoot after a full night's sleep. The taller and heavier you are, the more height you lose Jorge "Giant" Gonzalez was measured at just 7'6" by the Atlanta Hawks but 7'7 1/4" by the Guinness Book in 2000. He was well over 400 lbs so his spine compressed more than twice of an average person during the day.

There are no undersized power forward like Charles Barkley or Larry Johnson anymore. The ones that despite their seemingly wrong size for their preffered position, yet can dominate the paint like no others.

Barkley may have a big mouth, but he could flat out play. His aggressiveness and tenacity is what made him the best power forward in the game, despite his relatively short height for his position.
