He always had that street ball touch to him that makes him even more intriguing. Not many people are successful in pro ball with that technique. Mad props

you can clearly see they dont intentionally allow him to do it lmao iverson was just a rare gem and was among the few handful who could execute such skills

After the Jordan crossover he went into Legendary status, at least in my book.
How the hell did he become legendary after that play he was a damn rookie! It was a signature play of his Legendary career. But that play alone damn sure didn’t make him legendary

CodgoneWild retired in 2010
Iverson was the entire offense at one point. They'd just feed him the ball. He could miss 10 in a row and they'd still run the O through him. That is legend status. When everyone in the arena and on the court knows you're getting the ball and they still can't stop it.
Yeah I think at those time AI's best teammate was who? Eric Snow?
That's how I feel with my player (created player) on nba2k20 playing for the sixers I get 33.2 ppg the teammates just pass me the ball automatically its annoying id like to see others score.

I always waited for 76er games for this guy. he has those moves I have never seen in NBA before him, best dribble in his era.
I have been a Sixers fan since Iverson was drafted. The real ones know that being on this planet watching this man play. Was a blessing! Just unbelievable. And happy Marc Zumoff is retired. One of my fave players of all time. So entertaining, so electric.
I saw a post on Facebook that asked "who would win Steph curry or Allen Iverson" Of course AI
+SayItAintZay That would be a great 1 on 1. I'd give it to Iverson, due to the fact that Curry has a more team oriented game, whereas Iverson has a more adaptive game.
That said, Iverson's ability to change his game and the fact that I give AI the athletic advantage as well, I believe further supports my stance.
+Jdiggy77 agreed
If ai starts out then he wins
+Joe Kidd did you seriously just say Curry has better handles than Iverson?
+Miguel Mendoza ikr Allen Iverson has probably the best handles of all time.
Lived in Philly my whole life. But for some reason in the last 2 days I been watching AI highlights and stuff. Got so used to seeing my guy do this on a nightly bases I kind of lost sight of just how truly special he was.
He had such a repeatable attack plan. Well for him it was repeatable. And at a huge cost of injury.
But my guy had a shot out to 10' , nasty layup ball control, handles like crazy, and was a prolific passer. Although he never really had guys to pass it to. So the world really didn't get to see that.
His style of play is one that I think would have transcended time.
Allen one of the few players that could have played in any Era of the sport. Including the future. Nothing he did was outside of pure basketball fundamentals
Great comment
That 8th play is crazy,
All the while mid-air going backwards looks behind him to pass the ball, then hears the foul whistle so, instead -still in mid-air - shoots and scores without looking. Insane reaction speed.
Should be number 1
When I saw number 6 I thought that that should've been like number 1... but then I kept watching. This dude was unreal.
Tbh I thought so too, even after I saw the others
This man was literally the reason I started working on my crossovers, and was a successful PG in Jr college. I didn't have height to be competitive at a higher level, but did Alright with what I had. Standing only 6FT on my "best day." His movie/documentary was pretty good if you guy's haven't seen it, I recommend it. Overcame a lot, and I hope the rumors of him being broke aren't true, since he worked so hard to get where he was. Nice upload.
Pitbull82 OFC he's really broke bc these ppl don't get financial guidance when they need it. They spend their yearly salary like they'll keep making that yearly for the rest of their lives like idiots...on top of that, anyone from a shitty background is going to have a ton of leaches on their backs when they get paid when they should cut them off and transform into a real lifestyle that suits them!
Pitbull82 it was a really great doc. his really is broke but I think hes getting back on his feet with the magazine covers, appearances and now reebok is releasing his shoes again. lol I actually just bought a pair a month ago. I remember growing up everyone else wanted jordans I wanted iversons im a true fan and they are comfortable
nakamine1713 Yeah, these young Pro athletes should all get financial advisors, preferably, former player's that have been in their unique position. I don't remember the exact numbers, but there's a high percentage in both the NBA and NFL of players going bankrupt, not long after leaving their leagues. Mega stars like Iverson, LeBron, Kobe, and the likes of them are even higher paid than the rest of the millionaire's, so that's a lot of temptation for them. I couldn't imagine being 19 with a 90M dollar Nike contract. (LeBron James.) I would have blown it all, no doubt.
Dom Brown I seen that he's coming out with shoes again. I'm happy for him. I will support whatever he comes out with in the future, as much as I can. I did the same thing with the shoes, instead of Jordans, I'd buy his shoes. Hopefully he gets set financially, once again. He still has star power from the people who watched him play in his early career. Loyal fans.
True he left the league too soon. they kinda did him wrong before he left the league

home guava Jamal Crawford definitely has better handles than Kyrie....it's not even close. But then there is Steph who, at the very least, handles the ball as well as Kyrie. I think Stephs handles are a touch better, but since Steph hatred is so trendy right now I understand if some would disagree.

he dropped iverson in the next possession
For those who had the opportunity to watch this man play will agree with me when i say he was hands down the best guard and the most entertaining guard i have ever seen. He had incredible skills and most of all he had the heart of a lion and he didnt care if your name was jordan, shaq or kobe, when he stepped on the court he was going to give you the business.
In these clips alone he scored on Jordan and VC, two of the most athletic players ever to play the game. Nuts.
Iverson is my favorite player (along with MJ), because with him I dreamed that a person of normal stature can do extraordinary things in the NBA ..
In life before the talent necessary luck to succeed, Iverson was not so lucky..
Thanks Allen, you are the best ever seen in relation to your height !
SigOakley Basketball was his 2nd sport, he was even better as a Football player I’ve heard from some documentary. Luckily he chose to go pro in NBA.
He was a fighter, and imagine him had he been a bigger guy with them skills, he would kobe or jordan like. He could take a hit in speed and skills and still have plenty.
Wingspan is more important than height, his wingspan is 6'3"-6'4". He was also the quickest player in the league, you can't do much about agility, or lateral movement. Or your vertical jump, which was definitely not a weakness for AI. Or body control in the air, AI is one of the greatest ever in that regard. You can't really train these that much. He was physically lucky in some aspects, to the point of being a freak of nature. And I always say that if you are a starter in the NBA, and can play with the level of intensity these guys play for 2 consecutive seasons without your body breaking down, you are a freak of nature. Even if you are an average looking gut like John Stockton. Some things are genetically determined. Nowadays people think they can just train to shoot like Curry. Yeah he trained so hard, but he is "neurally" superior in the first place, it helps his precision and release that takes more than just hard work. Physical advantage is not just height.
@onurbole7921 Yup, genetics is key in all sports, be it bodybuilding, basketball, baseball etcetera.

I'm sitting down and I STILL went weak at the knees at #2. daaaaaammmmnnnn
Crossing up Jordan, Dunking on centers. Legendary
Number 2 should've been number 1, and the double fall cross should've been 2, only reason that was number 1 was because it was Jordan he crossed.
wow really ...
2 was harder
Tywanna Grice well I can tip dunk like that (btw I'm 6.1 too) and believe me its easy dunk. For iverson "in his prime " its not even a highlight . But if you cross(2 times) the best defender in nba history(M.J) and score 2 points like its a easy thing its the one of the top play in nba history
akali kemal like I said that's y it was number 1 because it was Jordan u proved my point
akali kemal he tipped dunked over a center and power forward as a point guard
No other player at 6' tall, has ever done what he did. He was fearless.
What a legend! Best crossover EVER!
score & style...he's always on point
Pound for pound this guy has to be considered the best player in nba history talent and will-to-win wise. I mean imagine him with James Harden build, let alone Kobe Jordan and holy shit if he had a lebron build lmao that's crazy. This guy was insane for a 5'11 guy who can jump out the gym and do it all offensively smh
if he was 6'5 or 6'6 he would've been the next real Jordan. im not talkin bout just a look a like either. he would've been just as good
Sun Spot yeah I always thought about that too. Hes basically a shooting guard trap in a point guards body. If he was 6'6 it would be way easier for him to dominate on scoring and also on defense.
if he was a bigger build he wouldn't be as fast or jump as high. that's like saying if jordan/lebron was shaq's build.
Bryan Li No it's not because if Iverson had a 6'6 build he could still dominate with just shooting. Not to mention his driving ability skyrockets. Plus it opens up even more for his teammates. Keep in mind everything he brings to the table in terms of skillset
Isiah Thomas was better I'm afraid to say. Better passer and way better shooter. And by far a better floor general. Zeke was a true point guard.
Iverson was good, but he was no Isiah Thomas.
Is it weird that i consider him my favourite player even though im too young to have watched him in his prime?
no
bruh i wasn't even born yet in his era but he's my favorite
nah man I was a little young to fully remember his prime as I'm only 24 but still my favorite player of all time. 6 foot nothing 180 lbs and to dominate like he did is just to impressive

Iverson had tremendous energy and never afraid to challenge oponents bigger and stroger than him. I think the lack of champs affected his legacy no matter how good he was.

Easily my favourite basketball player of all time. For this guy to be barely even 6 foot he had to be super tough to get knocked around the way he did night in and night out by the monsters he played against was incredible. He didn't cry or bitch and moan like these girls do nowadays he just got up again and again night after night and showed everyone that if you're good enough at something then size doesn't get to stop u. Seems like a humble down to earth guy and I've heard things from people who've met him say he's an absolute gentleman and I believe every word of it. He was a dog in his day but so chill in his mature years now.
AI is the human definition of heart and grit.
I was absolutely in love with Iverson. Looked at his posters every day lol.

he was sg lol
He was ..... at the late of his career when sixers don't have a good sg he moved to a sg position

why did you call me twelve in the first place lol allen iverson is a sg i grew up watching him play so i am not 12.
TheAnonymousGamers51 look he is a sg too but everyone who's watching him play knows that he is a true point guard who also can scored a damn lot too .... but he is known for his assist and steals .... and also in the all star game he always pointed in a pg position so I have to say though he can both play as sg/pg but he should be known as a PG ....

damiester1 that was 2002, they went on to beat New Jersey
Instantly knew the Jordan crossover was gonna be number 1
Can’t stop watching these plays man...this guy is such an hero for me, thinking about meeting him just makes me want to cry
Bro I was into basketball as a kid even though I am from Kosovo where basketball is not a big thing but I can recall players like McGready, Iverson, Duncan, Carter and Garnett from early 2000's. I was the biggest Iverson fan ever😂😂😂😂 and for me he still makes the top three for the best ever. Getting nostalgic from all these old videos. Keep up the great job @NBA!
😂😂 & love from switzerland 🇽🇰
Welcome to Hall of Fame bro!
Most exilerating athlete of all time baby woo
no player more influentual, no player more talented, no player more entertaining, no player did more when genetically disadvantaged - GOAT
i dont care what anyone says. if kobe or lebron were AIs size they wouldnt be anywhere near the player he was. He was fucking 5'11 yet he could come through and drop 40+ and 10assists at any given time. noone under 6ft can and has been able to do that since hes been gone
lebron im not sure but kobe on the other hand could, kobe is a smart player youve gotta think if kobe was that height during school his game would have developed in a different way hes a student of the game, everyone imagines then shrinking to that height with the game they have now instead of thinking about them learning the game at that height, it comes down to the mentality of that player really in the end, i love AI i wish he could have got that championship he deserved
He reminds me a bit of Chris Paul but Chris paul is more an assist player but he is very very short and a very good player
Francisco Pedro you mustve never seen ai play. he plays nothing like paul
Josh Tyson
lebrons a smart player as well he was faster in his younger years he would be a great point guard
LightStorm33 lebron is good don't get me wrong but he mostly plays with force but not with finesse like MJ, Kobe, or AI but he is still dominating the league
I was never into basketball except for when he was playing. Guy was just fun to watch. He was the “lil dude” that killed giants, it was dope. Favorite basketball player
AIs approach to basketball was so swagger and inspired so many players
Despite the rather sad ending, that was a good ride for him and his fans as he did change the game and inspired the following generation.
Iverson is an icon. doesn't matter if he's the greatest all-time or not. He changed the culture of basketball. I always like to call him Jeff Hardy of basketball. Both not the absolute best, but both iconic and fan favorites.
"Dude made fools slip on some oil slick type shit/some Caution Wet Floor banana peel type shit."
roscoegino .......
+Dos Neckace lol lakers fan
Gay a'f
Ever since his days at Georgetown love this dude, NBA all material, love him!!🏀
He is a legend and an era
That game 1 against the lakers in 2001 finals was something special.
Philly fans will always remember Iverson for that game. The little guy single handedly dominated Shaq and Kobe in their prime!
CameronFryy
They barely pulled out that game out. Kobe's prime wouldn't come until a few years later.
CameronFryy
Yeah, can't think of many other cases where a guy willed his team to the finals like that. Thinking about that series just makes me miss early-mid 2000's hoops in general.
***** Lebron's 2007 performance was a pretty good example of willing a team to the finals. True about earlier mid 2000's, so many young greats!
Willis96
I'll give you that one.
We just broke his crossover down on our channel and I forgot HOW fun he was to watch. Man we need another AI NOW!!!
preach ***** !!!
***** nor will there be one about his money issue
how do you break down a cross over? like you break down someone drinking a beer?
Jiggy JoJo Was this supposed to be funny?
yeah, now break down the sense of sarcasm
My favorite player of all time the reason I fell in love with basketball
Allen Iverson in his prime days was always exciting too watch. It’s like you knew he was going to do something great every game. Truly one of the greatest shooting guards of all time. His impact definitely changed the game 💯
A.I and T-mac the forgotten soldiers that never got a ring
Malone and Barkley as well...I wish Barkley and Iverson played together w/the sixers during their career.
He is the most underrated player! I would call him the greatest player to never win NBA championship! Also he is the best dribbler I have ever seen in basketball history!
1:25 Why he break that man's ankles one at a time?💀
😂
Because " his orders are Absolute !"
😂
@@NelsFofana my guy was looking for this refernce
he got him leaning left and right like its a roller coaster
Damn he was break dancing on that court😁🔥
Iverson put the basketball skills in another level!
There will never another player like AI ever, period. God bless him. Man, I miss the 90's.
His shot is so unique as the ball spins so little. Normally it is hard that way but not for him, body totally in his control.
The Killer crossover was something else.
