    Lived in Philly my whole life. But for some reason in the last 2 days I been watching AI highlights and stuff. Got so used to seeing my guy do this on a nightly bases I kind of lost sight of just how truly special he was.
    He had such a repeatable attack plan. Well for him it was repeatable. And at a huge cost of injury.
    But my guy had a shot out to 10' , nasty layup ball control, handles like crazy, and was a prolific passer. Although he never really had guys to pass it to. So the world really didn't get to see that.
    His style of play is one that I think would have transcended time.
    Allen one of the few players that could have played in any Era of the sport. Including the future. Nothing he did was outside of pure basketball fundamentals

      nakamine1713 Yeah, these young Pro athletes should all get financial advisors, preferably, former player's that have been in their unique position. I don't remember the exact numbers, but there's a high percentage in both the NBA and NFL of players going bankrupt, not long after leaving their leagues. Mega stars like Iverson, LeBron, Kobe, and the likes of them are even higher paid than the rest of the millionaire's, so that's a lot of temptation for them. I couldn't imagine being 19 with a 90M dollar Nike contract. (LeBron James.) I would have blown it all, no doubt.

      Wingspan is more important than height, his wingspan is 6'3"-6'4". He was also the quickest player in the league, you can't do much about agility, or lateral movement. Or your vertical jump, which was definitely not a weakness for AI. Or body control in the air, AI is one of the greatest ever in that regard. You can't really train these that much. He was physically lucky in some aspects, to the point of being a freak of nature. And I always say that if you are a starter in the NBA, and can play with the level of intensity these guys play for 2 consecutive seasons without your body breaking down, you are a freak of nature. Even if you are an average looking gut like John Stockton. Some things are genetically determined. Nowadays people think they can just train to shoot like Curry. Yeah he trained so hard, but he is "neurally" superior in the first place, it helps his precision and release that takes more than just hard work. Physical advantage is not just height.

    Easily my favourite basketball player of all time. For this guy to be barely even 6 foot he had to be super tough to get knocked around the way he did night in and night out by the monsters he played against was incredible. He didn't cry or bitch and moan like these girls do nowadays he just got up again and again night after night and showed everyone that if you're good enough at something then size doesn't get to stop u. Seems like a humble down to earth guy and I've heard things from people who've met him say he's an absolute gentleman and I believe every word of it. He was a dog in his day but so chill in his mature years now.

      TheAnonymousGamers51 look he is a sg too but everyone who's watching him play knows that he is a true point guard who also can scored a damn lot too .... but he is known for his assist and steals .... and also in the all star game he always pointed in a pg position so I have to say though he can both play as sg/pg but he should be known as a PG ....

I was the biggest Iverson fan ever😂😂😂😂 and for me he still makes the top three for the best ever. Getting nostalgic from all these old videos. Keep up the great job @NBA!

    i dont care what anyone says. if kobe or lebron were AIs size they wouldnt be anywhere near the player he was. He was fucking 5'11 yet he could come through and drop 40+ and 10assists at any given time. noone under 6ft can and has been able to do that since hes been gone

    • @JTGSTAR07
      @JTGSTAR07 10 років тому +14

      lebron im not sure but kobe on the other hand could, kobe is a smart player youve gotta think if kobe was that height during school his game would have developed in a different way hes a student of the game, everyone imagines then shrinking to that height with the game they have now instead of thinking about them learning the game at that height, it comes down to the mentality of that player really in the end, i love AI i wish he could have got that championship he deserved
