My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss. - Розваги
It drives me to distraction when nutritionists recommend that people "toss out" perfectly good food like pasta. Donate closed bags of food to the food pantry, FFS.
Yes!! This has always bothered me.
Pasta is not a no no . Limit it in amount but definitely is healthy food
take care for your business
Agreed. It’s also like someone tossing out an alcoholic’s booze. That does nothing. The alcoholic will just find a way to get more.
@@philipturner1316Pasta is not healthy. It’s empty white flour carbs.
Sean's mom cares so much. Did anyone else notice where she uses her head to hold up his fat so that other lady can clean under the fold? That part broke my heart. That's what you call unconditional love!
It was so sad to see how helpless Sean was after his mothers death. Our job as parents is to prepare our children to be successful & independent adults. His mother failed him. RIP Sean. 😢 Best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
Even in death he still clung to his mother. RIP
It’s a true shame seeing what his mom did to him, rest in peace Sean. She in no way was unaware of the consequences of her actions.
People are so messed up..His Mom should've helped him not work against him..She probably thought if he got better he would leave. He did anyway! So 😢
@@catherinemoore2188Yes, although she died a few months before he did.
She killed her son.
She was being VERY selfish. From her own words, 'it's just easier to give him what he wants'. That's NOT what being a good parent is like. Of course they'll blame anything, everything, and anyone but themselves. We are FULL of people like that nowadays who play the blame game to justify their bad behaviors.
He's one that I felt really bad for.😢 🌹🌷
The "BATHROOM THING"...i struggle to think which parts more HORRIFIC
--CLEAN/WIPING ur GIANT 40yo son like an infant in filth
OR
--the sheer VOLUME and TOXICITY of EXCREMENT he must produce daily given the awful foods he eats...and rate he's eating it
He was only 26 😭😂
You’ve nailed the horror perfectly and succinctly!
And also the smell that fills up the room ugh.
If that alone doesn't make you angry or embarrassed enough to put down the fork, nothing will.
A fat man always blame childhood ha ha😊
@@stephenthomas1492 No, it doesn't. Food is great and being a good eater doesn't need to make you fat, ask the Italians, Portugese, Croatians and so on. Countries with a great food culture.
What the people on the show do is the same as an alcoholic drinking himself to death. There's no joy in delicious homecooked food or passion and appreciation for a good meal, only cheap junk food and binge eating. Food should be fun and produce serotonin, these people are just miserable addicts.
Why?????? Why the F. Does she have to give into him???? What’s he gonna do, chase her? Enablers are also to blame
💯! Plus, the mom has an issue too.
@@angelabordackMunchauzen by proxy probably
So so true , they are also to blame.
We rarely see them spit their dummy out when they don't get what they WANT though! Bet they get aggressive & manipulative etc etc
Yes I'm sure they do get mean when they don't get what they want. But they literally can't do a thing about it if you say no. Walk out if you don't want to hear them yelling.
I wouId never, ever feed my son to death. Never. That's not Iove !
It’s sad. So sad. Using your body as a table is a serious issue. RIP, Sean-your life was not easy.
The mother destroyed her son's life. She passed away. He passed away a couple years after her. Such a sad story to such a young man
"It's hard to fix in someone else what's wrong with you."
He never seemed to be "all there" mentally and intellectually.
Arrested development
Where do they get the money for all that fast food? I gave up eating out years ago, just cant afford it. Even disability payments aren't that much.(and need to pay for rent, utilities, cleaning supplies etc.)
Cheap food is usually very unhealthy somehow they managed to afford it but sometimes being broke that you can only afford 1 or 2 meals a day can be good
What a very sad story of a wasted young man's life! :((
Very
RIP Sean, im glad to see you stuck to it in the end. I dont have weight troubles but I do have phsyical body issues thay i neglect that rob me from a fufilling life. I know I could do better and give into bad habits/distractions.. but you were able to change so in honour of you i will try and focus even more.
🙏🏾♥️
RIP Sean.
It‘s disgusting how everyone blames his mother - have you ever thought of his mother being a „victim“ by herself in childhood?
Often it‘s a bad family history of neglect/violence/bad habits….
Everyone should stand up for himself when he gets a certain age - Sean’s mother but also Sean himself!!!
We also don't hardly know how they react without their grub either!
Yeah and the mother is giving all to food to him. Thats why.
The mother can walk and move from her own power.
Agreed, everyone has free will and choice. He seemed spoiled and I'm sure he screamed abuse if his mother would not get him food
It's both of their fault.
You could say that about most bad people who ever lived. She is massively to blame here
4:54 I thought his mom was going to say " No" for a second.
Yep, but god forbid she says no to her man baby.
@@MontagZoso Yes, it's both frustrating and sad to see someone enable in such a sickening way.
HE NEEDS TO BE IN A NURSING HOME!!
Unfortunately, he has already passed away. His mother, too. RIP to both.
Whe@starzkream when did they pass?

@@jamesthomas2152its in the video.
@@jamesthomas2152I think during the where are they now
I feel so sad for him.. Such a young man died for nothing.. His parents failed him... They disturbed his mind so much in childhood and compensated with unhealthy relationship with food.. 30k calories a day is not hunger, that is emotional eating.... His mother is at fault here.. This is nothing less than slow poisoning. Sorry for the guy.. He was too weak mentality to get himself out of that toxic relationship with his mother. RIP.
He was enabled so heavily, to the point he couldn’t do anything afterwards
I noticed when Sean couldn’t even look up from his phone when greeting Dr. Now that he is completely devoid of social interaction skills with other humans besides his Mom. Not very surprising though.
He was the same way during the rest of the episode when a PT person came to help him at home and a home aid came to visit him after his Mom died.
Rest in Peace to both of them
Rest easy, Sean and his mom.
Oh poor Sean... his mother did that to him. She just would not tell him "no". Sad. SO SAD!!
I'm a teacher and part of my role is teaching about taking care of your body & more importantly what goes into it.
Sean's mother totally failed him in this respect. Years & years of poor nutrition, lack if exercise, enabling him and fundamentally seeing her son turn into a grotesquely huge human being.
He deserved so much better. She utterly failed him.
Ultimately a tragic story.
There seems to be a terrible fast-food issue in the USA.
I understand the unhealthy relationship that Sean and his mom had with food.
Still, when given the incredible chance that they had to overcome the problem, they both ruined Sean's chances of recovering.
So very sad.
Not just America. British are in second place. Fast food is rampant almost everywhere now.
At the prices of fast food lately, hopefully there will be less 600 pound people in the world
There is a point in life when people need to take responsibility for themselves and their actions.
I really don’t know anyone that hasn’t been thru trauma as a child.
It's a really sad part of life. Seems just about everyone I know has been through some horrible form of trauma at least once.
Not all people respond equally to trauma. Everyone is different. Your comment is such a generalisation, it's quite ridiculous.
First learn how to spell. Anyway what do you think blaming a childhood is going to do? Hmmm? Does that fix a problem? No it doesn’t. It makes an excuse for bad decisions and poor behavior.
@@melt2947 Ridiculous is using trauma as an excuse to behave horribly.
But Sean can be proud, his poor coping skills got him heaviest man alive and death before reaching 30 so yeah, please more people who are too lazy to face their demons.
@@moniquegoss5778 There but for the grace of God go i. Learn what that means.
No, definitely not "hunger pangs" he is giving into. At that weight, its not possible to be hungry. Its a mental craving.
Sad beyond words, for me😢
This is child abuse!! Wirh different parents this boys life would have been so different!! She de
stroyed him,it breaks my heart. We are supposed to prepare our children to survive and reach goals in life, this boy was doomed to fail!!"So very sad !!!😢😢
The carers or parents are also to blame. They bring them the food.
FYI... Sean was 1,003 lbs.
Wtf….wow
Disgusting
Watching this while I drink my smoothie makes me appreciate my mobility. USE IT OR YOU LOSE IT!! 🕺🏼
His mom used her head to hold up her sons belly for cleaning but it put her nose right in there with that unholy stank!! 😮
He's like a toddler!
It amazes me people are so unwilling to save their life! If this man’s mother really loved him she would refuse to give this kid any bad foods and keep his portions down. I would be damned if I would feed my children to death. Tough love is what is clearly needed here.
This is one of the saddest stories His mother did this to him in fear of being alone. She taught him no life skills when she died he had no idea how to live. His fathers an @ss
Man that is so true! I have been seeing another type of enabling where a mother I know, is keeping her adult daughter from becoming independent so the mom isn’t alone. Even though it means more stress for the mom and clearly an unsuccessful life ahead for the daughter:(
Wait what did his father do?
@@dummydomdom1993 I believe in the episode it states that he was abusive in some way. He was never around so mom had to raise Sean.
God knows what he put her through without hia munch though eh
Why would you believe his mom? Or Sean?
What a sad story, but sure both Mom and Son were suffering each with their own mental traumas.
RIP 🕊️🙏🏻
One thing they all seem to have in common, McDonalds
If he cant get it...why are you giving it to him?...if he wants it...go it yourself
I can definitely relate to Sean. I’m 51 and I weigh 333lbs. My ideal weight is around 160. When my parents divorced when I was 5 years old. I still live with the pain of it. It’s sooo hard on kids when their parents divorce. I chose food as well. I was a chubby kid lots of kids at school made fun of me and I’d eat for that too. I also had an extremely abusive stepdad who was an alcoholic. Every day after school I would walk home and my stepdad would spank me on my butt and he proved himself to be a child molester. I just began eating more and more. I have a different addiction than Sean. So otherwise I have potential to eat a lot like him. I watch these shows and I don’t want to gain any more weight because I don’t have anyone to take care of me. I want to be able to have a normal life and I’m realizing that it’s not easy to diet.
💕
So sad. May they both RIP.
His mother is partly to blame, dont give him that crap..tell him shes only going to give him healthy meals and if he doesnt eat them then he goes without..he cant exactly get them himself so she has the upper hand..you have to be cruel to be kind sometimes.
How do they afford this ?
Credit!
Disability checks. I'm sure both of them get checks.
2:57 the audacity, "I realised it wasn't healthy for Sean to stay around his father"
Yeah, beeing around you wasn't healthy as well! Those home-wrecking women are ruining their kids lives.
I'm a woman and have 2 sons and that blew my mind too. Wow, talk about some serious denial. She meant she couldn't keep him a man baby with his dad around and control him 100%.
She literally fed him to death, both are gone now. Sad but no surprise.
Talk about being checked out of reality.
It's truly amazing that you dont love your child enough to say no
RIP Sean 😪
Why doesn't Dr Now yell at Sean's mom the way he yelled at Lisa on James Kings episode. Or loudly blaming poor old Randy right out of the gate? She's as bad if not worse!
Ive seen this episode more than once. There was a scene where Sean’s mom had it out with Dr Now. She was VERY angry. He does not take any BS from anyone, especially the patient and their family. After seeing it a few times I was surprised that this scene was removed. I think they should have left it in here. It really sheds light on the terrible dysfunction between Renee & Sean. You understand why his eating is as bad as it is.
@@stellakowalski1 good to know. I'll try to find the full episode!
@@nancyjones6780there was a where are you now, season 3 episode 2(?) with Britni and Sean where Dr. Now and the mom get into it
His Mother has a Lot to answer for.She panders to all his whims.Poor man Guzzlinf down food, not even tasting It.Crazy!
that one meal he asked his mum. for could feed a family of 4
Dude, myself, my husband-who is overweight but not obese, and my teenage child all together cannot finish a large pizza cut into 8 pieces. There's usually at least enough for us each to have a piece for lunch the next day, sometimes more.
His mom wanted to keep him like this so he needed her, she enabled him treated him like a baby he was very immature for his age
The narrator says that Sean is eating enough for two people. Ummm, no way! It's more like four people. 😮
Rip Sean 🕯
He looks surreal 😳
Such a tough change to make. I'm sad he and his mom passed before he could get a handle on his weight and on hers too.
Change isn't easy for anyone, I'd imagine. But most of us don't have that much evidence of our wrong choices to correct. A smoker doesn't notice how black their lungs are getting until it's too late. You can easily see the product of overeating though. I dunno, it's shame all around.
@@stephenthomas1492 so true. I had weight loss surgery and have dropped around 120 pounds. I still need to work more on it but the tool has greatly helped along with my mental changes about eating and food.
How do they afford this food?
Look in the mirror…..: cause it’s more than likely Tax Payers like you and I
@@crikker9447 Apparently, obesity is a disability now. So, us taxpayers are footing the bill. I make $82,000 a year and I can’t afford that junk. I’m going to be real: I don’t want to foot that bill. I work and I’m an Army Iraq war veteran and I would never do some sh*t like this. Forgive me for not feeling bad for them.
@@angelabordackHey. There but for the grace of God go all of us. You need to walk a mile in his shoes. Be real careful to not judge, since you haven’t a clue what living like these two is all about. Just tonite thank God you were not given a cross like his to carry.
@@stellakowalski1 First off, you have no idea what I had to endure as a child. You talk about not judging but you judged me because I don’t want to foot the bill. I’ve been through horrific traumas but I never blamed society and I never had society pick up the tab. Have a great New Year.
@@stellakowalski1 you tell her 👌
He was a cute kid, shame
When i hear this im always shocked. I eat all day every day. I eat junk food nonstop. I have the same issues as hime where you eat for the sake of eating and are never full as a result. But im 47kg.......i dont get how this happens
If the mum doesn't give him food, Sean Is not going to Jump out of his bed.
I LOVE GREAT TASTING FOOD AS MUCH AS ANYONE BUT I DON'T LET IT BE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN MY LIFE!!!!!!
It can be used as a drug to block out pain, just like any drug/numbing behaviour
Dr. Now? Please somebody tell Dr. Now that the therapy is a wonderful part of the program I think. And in this case with Sean, it just came to me that some patients are hurt and I know how they feel. I think Dr. Now, with Sean should’ve seriously sent him right away to therapy. Because in this world we live in, bad things happen to kids and they need psychological support someone they can dish out what happened to to them that makes so much food.
RIP 🙏
There's no way he gained 43lb on a 1500 cal diet. He must have been eating a whole lot more than that. 1500 cal is a good start when you want to lose 3 pounds a week, at around 250lb bodyweight.
First step...get rid of the mum....
I was trying to not judge to mother. I failed terribly, she’s terrible, I think it’s totally on purpose.
😢😢
That’s sad. I’m sure his mom was cleaning his skin and once she died it got infected and killed him.
How did she find his food?
So sad
Such a wasted young life.❤.his mother loved him but was afraid of saying no to his urges.to eat. Rest in peace sean .you are an inspiration to all ❤❤❤😢😢😢
Fast food is okay in a pinch, but it shouldn't be your go to food.
1,004lbs is insane
Rest in peace both !🙏
R.I.P sean
He was a big baby, his mum killed him. Very sad.
😢
But Sean did do a good job loosing that weight good job
The Mediterranean cousin is suppose to be the best, salads etc …. How come all we adopt is PIZZA 24/7
The Mediterranean diet, olive oil, all types of fish, garlic, herbs, vegetables, nuts and egg dishes. Everyone you're referring to don't eat pizza or junk food daily, just unhealthy overweight folks. There's every type of food available in the US.
I “order food in” all the time. You absolutely do not need to order fast food.
No excuse. He had choices
RIP
Nothing changes. Sean lives six more years...
I see so many people are ok with not having accountability for yourself. At the end of the day, he never had a gun to his head to keep putting food in his mouth. Yes enablers have to take their blame but at the end of the day they either give in or hear someone yelling all day every day for the food because they do not have a drop of self discipline. I feel bad for the mom having to clean that nastiness everyday. It looks disgusting, smells disgusting and that’s just the wounds.
Rip Sean and his mom. Both had a horrible life. This what depression does to you. So very very sad.
We need to get the kids in Ethiopia to pitch in their coins to support Sean's treatment.
2 bites and a slice of pizza is down
I put 75% of his issues on his mom. She infantised him to keep him dependent on her.
Its sad he died hes inspiring 😢
He died? 😢
Why they are buying this food in the first place? Why? Cook at home, you won't have these problems in the first place.
He died at 29 ...
Sick narcissistic mother used food to keep him from leaving her
So this guy is twenty-six years-old and it's been EIGHT years since he's went out in public?
He passed away.
He can control it he just doesn't want to it's a shame at 9 years of age he's already on adult weight I understand people have problems but using the wrong in your life for an excuse to eat is rather sad
Clearly, he couldn't control it or he'd be alive.
So once dad went he was her eatting buddy. So it is her fault really
He was in his late 20’s and he got to 1000 pounds. Bravo Mum👏👏👏
I simply cannot fathom it, I have 2 sons of normal size and I love cooking a meal for us 3. But it's a normal human sized meal.
What feeds 3 of us for 2 meals, is probably what Sean eats in one meal.
The 3 of us weigh less than half of what Sean did at his heaviest. 😮 That's mind blowing. And we aren't skinny, we're just average, normal humans for our height.
But looking at his hand and saying he's had an accident😮
so easy, just dont eat like this.
