My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.

I can definitely relate to Sean. I’m 51 and I weigh 333lbs. My ideal weight is around 160. When my parents divorced when I was 5 years old. I still live with the pain of it. It’s sooo hard on kids when their parents divorce. I chose food as well. I was a chubby kid lots of kids at school made fun of me and I’d eat for that too. I also had an extremely abusive stepdad who was an alcoholic. Every day after school I would walk home and my stepdad would spank me on my butt and he proved himself to be a child molester. I just began eating more and more. I have a different addiction than Sean. So otherwise I have potential to eat a lot like him. I watch these shows and I don’t want to gain any more weight because I don’t have anyone to take care of me. I want to be able to have a normal life and I’m realizing that it’s not easy to diet.

Ive seen this episode more than once. There was a scene where Sean’s mom had it out with Dr Now. She was VERY angry. He does not take any BS from anyone, especially the patient and their family. After seeing it a few times I was surprised that this scene was removed. I think they should have left it in here. It really sheds light on the terrible dysfunction between Renee & Sean. You understand why his eating is as bad as it is.

Because in this world we live in, bad things happen to kids and they need psychological support someone they can dish out what happened to to them that makes so much food.

What feeds 3 of us for 2 meals, is probably what Sean eats in one meal.
The 3 of us weigh less than half of what Sean did at his heaviest. 😮 That's mind blowing. And we aren't skinny, we're just average, normal humans for our height.
