Thanks! This is a game changer for indie developers. I feel like I could create a workflow where I could turn out a bunch of prototypes in a single day. That would in turn allow me to prototype attributes, gameplay abilities, and any weapons the character will have. Any 3D artists who are worried about losing work, take consolation that I don't have the money to pay you to do prototyping anyway. Where you will add value is in tweaking the model materials and animations after I have decided which prototypes I am going to use.
You not having the money for something doesn't mean you are entitled to other people's work. If I cannot afford a car, are you fine with me taking yours to use for my personal wants? No artist wants to be reduced to cleaning up some AI output, that's an incredibly sad and unfulfilling prospect. You can learn to make art, you can learn to model and let your work truly be an expression of you, not an amalgamation of other people's work. Or, you can find others who do those things to collaborate with, which makes for a much healthier society as it promotes interaction instead of isolation and degradation of human worth. The journey is more important than the end result, and currently you have it backwards in only wanting an end result to come into existence with the least amount of effort. We should not be promoting the use of these scraped datasets, it is a massive net-negative to the long-term health of society and the arts.
@@invertexyz Stop complaining and trying to make everyone else miserable because you refuse to grow up and adapt to technological changes. If you can't afford a car, that's 100% YOUR fault. Do YOURSELF and everyone favor by growing up.

As a 3D character artist i feel a bit horrified and scared. I was hoping that ai would never touch this field, it kinda feels bad that the models and the concept art may not require some time and love during the craftsmanship stage. Because it's something that we feel and appreciate in my humble opinion. Of course it's impressive but is the quick and easy way really going to benefit games?
Thanks!! Great Tutorial! I am trying to create a cartoon´ish knight but the images I'm getting are very, very blurry (especially the face which are completely disfigured). Any clue whether this process works for "human" characters as well? (such as soldiers, knights, priests, etc?)
@@1dudedevteam hey :) I agree, but at the same time wonder that nowadays almost real pictures can be generated with AI, how come, a "simple" cartoon face, not a tiny bit complex as the real pictures, cant be generated without being disfigured? tried some different prompts but didnt work out :(
Absolutely fantastic! Thanks for this, and by all means, the humanoid would be great! Is it possible to generate an AI face and use the Metahuman rigging?
You're actively contributing to the harm of the very people who made the media you've loved to experience through your lifetime. I know it's probably futile to try and convince people like you who seem to be so enamored by genAI that they're unwilling to consider the downsides of it, but I try regardless. More specifically, the use of these datasets that scrape the works of artists around the world and commodify it into a singular tool to create soulless derivatives from. Reading that alone should make you think at least a bit, if you have even an ounce of empathy. Art is supposed to be an expression of your own lived experiences and practice, not a machine generated mixture of the world's creative works, that is what I mean by "soulless". You're contributing to the degradation of a core aspect of what makes art so important to humanity, which is its expression of one's journey, it's why we idolize art and cherish it, and this kind of behavior here seeks to destroy that relationship. The path this sets forth is one of diminishing value and appreciation, after all, why would anyone care about your "work" if they can easily ask some AI to make the same thing? It promotes isolation instead of collaboration, it diminishes desire to learn skills and grow as a person; To seek that dopamine hit of an instant result instead of appreciating the journey of learning these crafts and collaborating with others; it's a net negative for society. I implore you to fully consider the negatives and think forward about what kind of future we end up in if we don't try to dissuade and stigmatize people from relying on scraping other people's works for free, effortless derivatives. Even if we were in a cashless utopia, I would still be saying this, as this goes beyond jobs and about how we ensure we as people can continue to retain our sense of personal identity and feelings of purpose and appreciation. You can make great games without these tools, if you stop making profit your goal. Collaborate with others who want to make something, improve as a group and go on a journey of creation together, you will find so much more fulfillment in that.
I mean coming from (me) a person who is way too busy now adays to have time for creative works, AI like this is an invaluable timesaver. I always wanted to learn 3D modeling and animation, so then I did, but it takes forever. It's a tedious, easy to screw up process. This is automated and done in seconds with incredible accuracy. It's not always perfect, AI won't always be a one for one swap solution, but it's broadly applicable. For me again who also lacks funds, this is a great way to get materials made for a project without breaking the bank. It's also a great way to see something I imagine come to life without taking a toll on my life in some way. Art is a beautiful, wonderful thing, but AI can copy it and that's now a facet of life. Is it soulless? Ig it can be. It depends how it is used and incorporated. But it is mind-blowing to see what technology today can do. I feel like "just for a dopamine hit" really washes away the astonishing leaps forward that humans have made in this area. "You can make great games without these tools, if you stop making profit your goal." Profit isn't always the goal. These tools still make projects easier. There's a grey area in terms of AI law atm, but I believe that each individual should have to give their express permission for someone to reference their work using (generative) AI. Because yeah it completely automates things and cuts out the human element. (And sure my description is my human element contribution, but that is really miniscule.) "why would anyone care about your "work" if they can easily ask some AI to make the same thing?" I think that's why the AI laws will be so important, it puts emphasis on the value of humanity.
great points, i get why people are excited about this but a person would do a far better job, let alone the ethical concerns. I can see this being used to create a blockout or demo and then bring people on to really make it shine. The image generators are just image laundering machines lol

thanks for the video, very helpful tutorial. I would love to see you create a video on AI based rigging tools next.
Brilliant tutorial! You are absolutely awesome! Please make more and get us drunk with your wisdom! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
This is huge, thank you. I subscribed and can't wait for more
Great job on the video! Really informative and i greatly appreciate the time and effort you put into creating this. Keep it up 👌
Thank you so much 🙏

Cool im planning on doing a fun syfy game and this will save a ton on vehicle disigns.

Keep up the good work man
Hey thank you for the followup on this!
Thanks for watching! It was fun to make this one.

For indies and solo developers it will help a lot.
@@dombam8490 but it will result in low quality models, these models have no transparency or emission, etc... And they have a dodgy geometry
Thanks for sharing the whole process! Will definitely try it out just for fun:)
that's exactly why I tried it. nerd-glee
Very Nice!
Awesome video! Could you use these types of rigs/animations as actors in your env? How do you animate the humanoid robot character!?
Ty 😅 yea we need tig this model and animation pls ❤
perfect thanks
Great video. Will you be showing us how to do the same with a humanoid character?
Would be great if someone trained an ai to do this part too
I'm sure that's coming next
You could have mentioned the £46.33 price tag of procedural walk before you started :(
Rodin is also ludicrously expensive
He already mentioned. You should have listen carefully
Was waiting for this video
Splendid and thanx !
dude can the 3d model generated in rodin be exported to godot engine as well ??
Question: Is there a way in Unreal to export the fully rigged and animated model to .fbx file that works with unity?
Forget unity
Can this be done in UE5.3?
Unreal keeps crashing for me when I try to erase the weights. Did you experience anything like this ever?
Why did you deleted the other video?
Thanks!! Great Tutorial!

For simple ones, I'd say. For realistic(ish) I'd say it's not really ready yet.

I request you to record your voice with high sound or volume next time it's will be better👍
It sounds fine, it's you. Your phone speaker isn't cutting it, use ear buds.
Great tutorial! Do the human rigging / animation as well please!

Can this be done with the Dragon.ik framework instead?
I think so! I didn't try it but I know of it, and I'm pretty sure it'd be roughly the same thing.
How to alternate the movement of the front and rear legs to create a more realistic movement?
you can add animation attack or other animation to?
YOU SHOULD HAVE SAID THAT THE PLUG-IN IS PAID!
WTH
I WASTED MY TIME!
I hope eventually ai gets built directly into game engines so you can just be a director
that would be awesome.
