I woke from a nightmare last night where he was playing my guitar with them rings on. I kept hearing the rings knocking louder and louder until I eventually woke up, thankful it was only a dream.

Robb is a bad dude over the years his guitar work has gotten better and better ....i remember buying the old vio-lence tapes and thinking damn who the hell are these guitarists in here and of course it was robb and phil D....two guys that definitely fed off of each others energy hence machine head was born and still is as badass today as it was then in the early 90's ....ive been into metal since the early 80's man im 58 and still appreciate it respect it and love it more today than i ever have and its because of guys like this including OLA🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉....OLA has a very distinct picking style i can tell its him without even looking ...lol the haunted and at the gates style picking is one of my favorites it just blends heavyness and melodies all together at the same time 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟😜😜😜😜☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
Wow this video reminded me how much I love Machine Head. Man I almost certain I blasted The Burning Red album so loud for so long it’s likely the primary contributor to my borderline deafness now in my 40s lol. I swear though man “The blood, the sweat, the tears” was without question my favorite jam of 1999. I love the end of the song “I hope that was it cuz I’m gonna pass out” hahahahaha. Thanks Ola you breath life into old metal heads like me bro 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Imagine hearing this riff and song, band, in 1994in a studio in Oakland,Ca before the record came out and wondering who TF that is in the practice space next to where you are at the time..😉 Paradigm Studios Oakland,CA i believe it was..
Anybody else see the video of ola and john pertrucci together on stage recently??? Lol ola looked like a little kid meeting his favorite rock star 😂😂😂 you could tell he was beyond stoked and excited to be next to one of the baddest guitarists to ever play rock guitar ...johns beyond nuts on guitar ❤🤟🤟🤟😜😜😜😜
In fact , It‘s not part of the original Song , they begun with the slide many years after 94 , you can see it in a lot of davidian videos between 94 and 99 , like the live at dynamo 🤘🏻
It’s really interesting that so many ppl have such bad hearing. I don’t mean this in a bad way. It’s happened to me, too! I keep listening to a song over and over and it’s like my brain cancels out nuances on purpose (news flash that’s exactly what the brain does) to filter out what you don’t need to hear. But certain folks can sort of get into that zone and “unfilter” the tiny nuances such as a slide or that the harmonics sound different on record from the way everyone plays it.
well, my high school self feels very vindicated, this is exactly how I used to play it 24 years ago... ow, my nostalgia... (my aching bones, etc etc...)
Believe me I got a bunch of heavy ass rings on my left hand banging into my fingerboard when I play too I wear a different skull ring on each finger of my left hand big clunky rings
wow man ,i'm proud of me, i figured it out correctly without this demo, probably because i can get the harmonics better on the unwound strings, i think they sustain better, at least for my rig they do
Ok…….. so I’ve been playing that wrong for decades then 👀😂 I play the harmonics on the D and A as he demonstrated. Just seems like a bit of rush job to get back to the 1st fret otherwise, but he nails it obviously. 🤷🏻♂️
Let freedom RING...
Hahaha nice!
With a Shotgun blast!!!! 🎶
Let that tab book burn in a blast...
WITH A SHOT…..GUNNAAAH….. BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAASTAH!
And everybody forgets to do the ring clicks.
slide 💩
its his bracelette thats hitting actually
I woke from a nightmare last night where he was playing my guitar with them rings on. I kept hearing the rings knocking louder and louder until I eventually woke up, thankful it was only a dream.
Robb identifies as a click track now
Whats worse is I believe it's the braclet that's knocking against the guitar.
"Villains!" I shrieked. "I admit the deed! Tear up the planks! Here, here! It is the clicking off his hideous rings!"
Yea. Easy on the jewelry there Robb
That’s a generous amount of rings.
That slide really makes a difference to how gnarly the riff sounds. Gotta be one of my favorite riffs ever!
Ola looking at robs fingers just to make sure he's not fucking up that guitar with his chunky rings
That's why it's an Epiphone not a Solar Europe
The breakdown at the end of the song always gets me!!!
Such a badass riff
Just shows it’s about the attitude. Simple but crushing riff
Machine Head Davidian album is what helped me thru my university days back in 1997-1999.
Cool ...he is making the snaredrum with his jewelry.
Still one of the greatest metal songs of all time. 'Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast' 🤟🤘
Some fat rings smashing up the paintwork 😂😂
My thoughts exactly! His ring volume is louder than the fuckin amp volume! I hope that's his guitar....
I can't unhear the rings hitting the headstock
I woke from a nightmare last night where he was playing my guitar with them rings on and I kept hearing the rings knocking louder and louder until I eventually woke up, thankful it was only a dream.
@@demuthjesse it is most definitely not his guitar hahah
It’s the one Ola just did a video on recently.
@@ChadVader24 Tell me you don’t know about guitars without telling me..,
What a Rollercoaster it's been listening to this band from the beginning
One of my favourite riffs ever at the end of this song!!
playing it with those rings it's impressive
Is ola watching for the cords or is he thinking "damn, he is scratching up my guitar with that whristband" 😂
Flynn scratched my guitar!!!
Machine Head created there own style with burn my eyes. It's still a classic that holds up to the test of time today
Then they BLEW IT spectacularly
Phenomenal interview, can't believe I missed it till now!
The most important video on the internet!
Happy anniversary, Davidian!
The sounds of the huge rings on the neck is making me so anxious lol
I'm glad to learn I was right. I've always done the harmonics on the 7th fret cause it it definitely cleaner being further away from the lowest string
Great guitar work and guitar sound. Love this jam. . Crank it up LOUD. . Horns UP. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Soon as I heard, the lyrics! Let Freedom Ring! With A SHOTGUN BLAST! I knew I was going to love it!
Just finished the interview Swola - great job! Hope the show was awesome.
One of my all time favourite metal songs.

Hey Rob. Thanks for all the great music. I saw you guys at House Of Bluse in Orlando with Kitty way back when... was on Shrooms. Had a good time.
Robs been my idol since the early ninths been to nearly everyone of MHS gigs MACHINEFUCKING HEAD ROBBOOO!!!
Brilliant! And he's just slamming those rings into the neck! I'm sure his guitars have serious battle wounds!!
Brooo. I saw them live yesterday. He wore my Christmas hat for a iron maiden song
Fantastic episode, Ola. I also saw a video of you playing that song at their show. Must have been a dream come true.
"my whole life has been a lie"
me too!
I still remember where I was the first time I heard this song. Minneapolis. Scott played it for us. We lost our shit!
Oh, i needed a third enormous ring on my picking hand 🤦♂️
Wow I haven't heard this song in for ever!
Bad ass song and album! Heavy af!

I still prefer it at the 5th fret with my strings but the upwards slide is very much noted!
Great song!
Amo esa fruta canción 🖤👌👌
That Les Paul is CRISP
Wish I could play like this ❤
Universe far far away: "Hey Rob your ring is smashing into my headstock"
Today I learned! 🤘
Robb....the ring leader
It's hard to play with that much ice on. Respect
Funny line Ola "my entire life has been a lie."
i always did the slide instinctively even though i never noticed it's really part of the song, just sounded cool.

Cheers🤘😊💯☠️
It's funny, I always thought the "SCARRED pour the salt in the wound" riff was the coolest one in the song
Robs the man, TRUELY THE HARDEST WORKING MEYAL BAND IN THE GAME TODAY, 2 1/2 HRS OF BUST YOUR ASS METAL AT A MH SHOW!
Mister Flynn is a metal riffmaster.
🤘😈🤘🔥🔥🔥
Robb is king
I love how he want a very small microphone stand. So, if he towerd over it, he looks larger than avarage haha
I wonder if Robbie wrote that album on the guitar or Logan mader?
Awesome!!!!
Believe me I got a bunch of heavy ass rings on my left hand banging into my fingerboard when I play too I wear a different skull ring on each finger of my left hand big clunky rings
Ah yes, I knew I wasn’t wearing enough jewelry
Using the jerry cantrell prohpecy 👊
Sick

Headstock is catching hell
Jewelry off. Click click click !!
🔥🔥🔥
The rings are the percussion
Been wondering since releaseyear.
Never in a million years i would have imagined robb playing a les paul. Gotta be said, it does suit him tho
