Blind man ask me forgiveness
I won't deny myself
Disrespect you have given
Your suffering's my wealth
I feed off pain, force fed to love it
And now I swallow whole
I'll never live in the past
Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast
Burn my fist to the concrete
My fear is my strength
Power, rage unbound because
Been pounded by the streets
Cyanide blood burns down the skyline
Hatred is purity
The bullet connects at last
Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast
Scarred
Pour the salt in the wound
Unscarred
This song doesn't age, it just gets heavier and heavier.
carmageddon!

Not to mention the outro!
one of the worst vocalists
Everytime if we play that intro live the crowd goes wild🤘
Bought ‘Burn my Eyes’ on CD at 15 years old. Now sat in my home office as a 43 year old father of three with headphones on, fixing networks, still listening to this masterpiece.
Same here guys 😊

LOL -- you too!?
So true. 51 here, no family. But that first one hits, brings me to my youth. "I'll beat fuk out of anyone" 😅 I'm a London boy in Calgary. Top tune... have to smoke my friend. He got cremated. A pice of him in my lungs.
This masterpiece will never get old. Always one of my all time favorite albums
The 90s metal at its purest :) Pantera, Machine Head, Sepultura, Biohazard etc. etc.
Those were the bands that made my 90s soundtrack! Plus Fear Factory, Helmet and White Zombie \m/
@@designercaolho Right on!
I'd agree with all those and add in -"Fight "😝☠️🤘
Yeah, Sum 41... 😂👍
Fear Factory, Type O. Yes im old.
I don't think people realize how legendary this is. I feel bad for those who only listen to mainstream music.
Yeah. Not possible to remake it. Perfectly written, played, and recorded. Nothing to change.
This is not the music only; ther is certain quality hidden there to defend that seem to have had gone in the XXIth century.
Machine Head were mainstream in metal terms in the late 90s-early 2000s: the concept is relative.
@Vengeance * Wellp, my list of heavy music listening just got exponentially (I've heard of many, not listened yet)! Thank you for sharing, extreme music brother! 🙏🤘
They never lived up to this album. Second album they diluted their sound then went Nu Metal lmao and then tried to come back but it was all contrived. This album though...and the production was awesome .
@Mostafa Hossain Tuhin I'm very sad when people say they love groove metal and only recognize PanterA
First time heard this, a couple of decades ago, is when I truly appreciated how much a drummer can put into their craft. The drums on this track are amazing.
Have seen them a few months later supporting Slayer on the Divine Intervention Tour. In my opinion this was one of the best Support Acts from Slayer. Have seen them a couple of times but this was awesome. A young fresh band ready to take the world by storm. Cheers from Germany and stay healthy.
@@ingoledebur2059 We saw the same tour, dude. On the 1st December 1994 here in my homeland (Budapest, Hungary) they played together with the almighty Slayer. I cannot describe how great they were. It was like something you can have only once in your lifetime - and that was it.
couple decades ago... yeah!! thanks for making me feel OLD (no pun intended) lol back then. this was one of those albums, hit you in tall the right places from everything else you previously listened to.. 94 i was 12.. now 40 and still one of my favorite albums as a whole
Absolutely man. Chris Kontos' work on this song definitely pushes it along. I can't imagine the riffs without it. Especially the outro, holy crap. Ah to be 18 again...
Chris is a fucking beast behind the kit
Man shout out to now-underrated Christ Kontos. This song IS the drums.
dem guitars doe
Chris Kontos and Jayson Sherlock are two of the most underatted drummer is history. Its a damn crime.
@Kathryn Brown áá
Cheers, I’ll drink to that.
The Beast Chris Kontos
The drum fills are legendary🥁💪🤘
The drummer is fucking legendary!
Everyone talking about the breakdown
Man, the intro riff is heavy as the breakdown
Heavy all around.
I listened to this when it came out in 1994. I was 13. Had a huge Machine head logo on my school bag. Kids thought I was a Satanist as I grew up in a very conservative South Africa
I think Burn my Eyes was probably the best debut album ever by a metal band. Now 26 years later this song still kicks ass
I hear you brother!.. Another South African here with the same story but honestly I don't care anymore what anyone thinks. Metal is life and Music is life and if it makes us happy then who are they to judge! 🇿🇦🤘
Conservative South Africa, huh? So certainly not where the Boer is targeted. Part of that area that still has British crown protection.
God bless you
I went to a private school I specifically remember being in religion class and naming motley cruel as a satanic band 😂 people are ridiculous I swear.
Terra Incognita is another insanely good debut album, but yeah this song kicks ass \m/
Such a brilliant metal classic. The drummer is superb
Chris Kontos 🤘

This is the correct way of playing guitar.
What a way to start off a discography though
I try to get into the newer albums, but nothing is going to sound as good as Burn My Eyes and The More Things Change...ever.
Weill Nalmer-Pilson are you serious?Blackening, unto the locust, bloodstone and diamonds.New album is very expimental.Hard to explain
I agree with you dude. It was the best opening ever :)
Yeah but it never got any where close after this album. Burn my eyes has to be one of greatest metal albums ever created. After that, hard to beat. Machine head wasnt all that after this masterpiece.
+Steve odonoghue The Blackening is their best album
The outro riff is one of the heaviest things ever.
Aris Alamanos facts!
Somebody should upload a 10 hour version of the outro
Listen to Xibalba - Hasta la Muerte
Best riff ever!
Possibly like the first breakdown ever. This and Pantera-Domination
The drumming is insane so good 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🎼🎼🎸🎸🎸🎸🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🥁🎹♠️
Yeah, people commenting on other shit are retarded. The drumming is nuts.
Metal isn't for everyone, but for those that rock, jams like this are totally for us. Rock on metalheads \../,
Am not a metal head but this track is just so pure energy 😊
That end is so powerful that i could listen to it for hours.

Yeah its pretty cool that they used a breakdown as a fade out and not in the middle of the song like most bands

Maaaan! I remember my dad giving me this album as a birthday gift. I was around 10 and this shit blew my mind! I had only listened to offspring and metallica before this. This song gives me the flashbacks of me jumping around in my room blasting it through the crazy speakers i got with the album, jumping around headbanging like I'm in a moshpit! Love it! (sorry for my english)
Cool dad!
Your dad is a legendary man!
WTF Nothing wrong with your English, it's 100% perfect. Also, cool dad. My dad is into the Beatles and The Carpenters, so not sure where "I went wrong". 🤣
Your father kicked ass!!!!
You have a very cool dad. Considering hardly anyone knows about Machine Head.
Hands down Machineheads best album! Blew me away when it was released back in the day!
Only their best album. Nothing else ever even came CLOSE and that is a bummer.

Metal hymn, if you didn't listen to this, you didn't listen to metal. An absolute winner of the genre.
drummer was sick!
Yup, when Chris Kontos departed, so did Machine Head. Yet, their festering corpse has somehow found a way to be more vile & revolting, with this new fecal matter of an album, "Catharsis". When the first lyrics to your entire album are "Fuck the World," as if you're some Limp Bizkit wannabe, it's a BAAAAAAD sign!! And I curse myself for wasting time listening to such rubbish!! Machine Head is completely & utterly DEAD, in my eyes.
He's back for the Burn My Eyes anniversary tour.
@@Joe.Grimm. heard them a few days ago in Milan. Chris is still a human drum machine! He played a bunch of solos, he even played drums like bongos with his hands during one of these. You could totally tell, by the end of the performance, he was completely loving being back as the MH drummer! He almost cried while thanking the crowd.
Have seen them a a few times and the drummer has never been able to replicate the opening drum roll. Every you tube drum cover either balls it up or dont attempt it. Absolutely LOVE this song.

3:42. Still, to this day, the heaviest groove I've ever heard. Nothing has beaten that yet.

@@jarredbock3006 you were the British 🤦🏻♂️
Kris's drum sound on this album is off the charts.
There are bands where you can forge an emotional connection to the music through their guitar work and lyrics. Burn my Eyes is the only album I've ever heard where I've forged that same connection through the drum work. It goes behind words. Never have drums sounded so angry, so emotional and aggressive, like they're telling their own story both independently whilst also complementing the guitar work and vocals.
90s drums I feel were perfected. High production value but still sounded natural. Obviously a generalization, but generally it was really good

The first two albums buy Machine Head are masterpieces.... I really miss this bands industrial heavy as fuck sound. This song is epic.
LET FREEDOM RING WITH A SHOTGUN BLAST!
I listened to this album more than most any other when I was a kid in college taking buses all day.
Indeed, Machine Head were something quite special to begin with.
I know there are those out there who LOVE The Blackening, but I personally find it over-rated (and dull) as hell.
Burn My Eyes though was one of THE great debuts.
I remember back in the day (when we all used to carry cassettes around in our pants) having tapes of Burn My Eyes, Sepultura's "Chaos AD", Pantera's "Vulgar Display" and Biohazard's "Urban Discipline".
The early 90's were a great time to be alive.
The good old days they will never come back
The difference between the first and later album - especially after the 4th one - of MH is that the 1st and 2nd album are simple and straightforward - a pure power in its most raw form. It needs no complications and complexity... which is what happened to the MH music later... unfortunetely.
After their second album, MachineHead were all but destined to be one the truly great premier leage metal bands with Pantera, Sepultura, Metallica. Then they released the Burning Red - oh dear
in my opinion the best album from their is the blackening and burn my eyes
This whole video is so 90' and i fuckin love that. Best period of time in human history.
I remember when this came out. It was revolutionary. The production was from the future. The drumming on this is phenomenal. Still holds up today.
