Hi, Id like to thank you guys for the amazing work you've been doing, I used to do the home exercise program associated with my regular physiotherapy and after 5months and 3 weeks I was playing soccer again! My doctor also appreciated the program. Thanks a lot. big hug from Brazil.

Are these exercises to be performed at different stages of your recovery? I’m currently 7 weeks in but wasn’t sure if some of these exercises are required after that time?

Hi, I was operated on Juno 23rd 2016 and today is Jan 6th 2017, roughly been 6.5 months since surgery. I've been doing the rehab exercises regularly except 2 or 3 phases of a week each during which I was busy with exams hence couldn't do the rehab exercises. I've moved on to jogging at 6km/hr for 4 minutes then at 8km/hr for 1 minute and then repeating the same, along with the other regular rehab stuff such as tb extensions, band bridges, lunges, medicine ball squats, calf raises, leg presses, thigh presses (sideways in&out), machine leg curls and extensions, foam roller exercises and a few more exercises. I now do them thrice a week. I was an avid tennis player and was going to start playing tournaments when unfortunately due to overtraining and dehydration while on my way back to home after a 4 hour intense training session, I fell down on the way missing a cab that was in front of me. I wasn't wearing a helmet too. Luckily for me, the head just received a scratch, whereas my right knee as well as the left shoulder to some extent suffered a full blow. I want to return as quickly as possible, the swelling is no more and during jogging as well as walking there is only slight discomfort, but apart from that there is no pain. My physio says that in about another 1-1.5 months I can go back to the courts. Hoping for the best, I am ready to give in everything to the rehab in order to get back to me pre-surgery levels of playing! I also aspire to be a professional tennis player but for that I must first be cleared both by my surgeon and my physio to give my 100% on the courts! I am already working out in the gym apart from my regular physio therapy. I do each set of muscles on different days, i.e., one at a time. They include chest, biceps, triceps, core, shoulders, back, forearms, core. That's my schedule! Usually everyday it takes up about 1 hours for the jogging as well as the physio exercises, 15 minutes for dynamic stretches and rotations, 1-1.5 hours for the muscle-related weights and exercises, and finally the cooldown phase which takes another 15-20 minutes and it involves static stretching of almost all of the body parts.
Do you think that with all of this, I will be able to play as good as I used to play prior to my surgery? Also, my physio says that after a few weeks he will start off my sports drills such as jumping and cones!

Hi, Paraakram! Thanks for reaching out to us here at Loyola. It sounds like you've been very dedicated in your rehabilitation activities. Unfortunately, our doctors can't comment on patients' individual cases without seeing them in person, so it would difficult to give you an accurate prognosis for your future playing ability. The best judges of your ongoing progress would be the medical professionals with whom you're working. Good luck in your recovery! -Keisha

Yeah I sure hope the amount of effort i put in pays off in the long run, which I'm sure it will! That's okay, I will consult the medical professionals with whom I'm working with as to whether I will be able to play as good as I used to before, and thank you for the reply! :)

It takes too much time, like 2.5 hours or more, excluding the walking. (my given exercises)
