I'm from aberdare not far from Merthyr and I remember this all happening, I want to send love and respect to you strong ladies for keeping up with the fight to defend yourselves, it's horrendous what you were put through at the hands of the bastard SWP especially after losing a friend in the fire , take care and stay strong and hopefully the future will bring the truth xx
I suggest you listen to Wrongly accused: The Annette Hewins Story on BBC Sounds narrated by her daughter Nicole Jacob. It will convince you of their innocence and also reveals the incompetence of the police officers and the questionable conduct of the Judge. Their were 4 deaths that night, Diane, Shauna, Sarah-Jane and Annette. May they all R.I.P 🤍🤍🤍🤍
Just want to clear up about about Annette being seen on cctv filling up her car with petrol firstly there was no evidence she syphoned any petrol into a container and all she did was fill up her car secondly the petrol which she filled the car up with was a different petrol that started the fire that has recently been proved by an expert in this field this proves it was someone else who started the fire and that all three women were innocent.
This case needs to be reopened with new officers. theres a lot more advanced techniques now that could nail who did this crime

I still stand by what I said last year ‘this case needs to be re-opened the perpetrator/s can’t just get away with this’
I remember this case, l was in Jail in East wood Park back in the 90’s when they were on trial.
The day of the verdict was surreal because everyone thought they would be cleared, even the screws were shocked.
I never spoke much with Denise and Donna but l was upstairs on B2 with Netty and she was in my room sat on my bed telling me her “involvement”, what it amounted to was that the police believed she filled up her car (she was seen at the petrol station) and was supposed to have drove off somewhere else and siphoned the Petrol from the tank 🤦🏼♀️ which just seemed like a bit of a stretch to me.
This woman in her 30’s at the time with kids and one on the way (she gave birth in prison) would agree to help kill this girl and her 2 kids for getting in the way of her niece’s “fling” with a drug dealer?😮

Besides girls haven’t a clue about things like Siphoning Petrol from a car, l only know because my ex boyfriend used to do it….reinforcing my argument that it’s the type of things guys do not girls especially not pregnant mothers.
I’m so sad to hear Netty succumbed to Heroin addiction, that conviction killed her in the end because she wasn’t addicted to heroin when she went in.
I'm also from merthyr too and know nearly all of the people Denise is talking about. I remember this happening. Those girls are 100% innocent. Netty was a friend of mine. RIP netty. The 2 kids, Diane and 3 women and all the people affected deserve the truth to come out. SWP railroading of the 3 women and the wrongful conviction destroyed netty, it changed her life and haunted her till her death. I would go as far as to say it indirectly led to her death. As Denise says Flasher may not have been well liked but he didn't deserve this either. SWP let everyone down. It wasn't the first time and they sadly still haven't learnt their lesson. Shame on you SWP.

Sorry this might have just all been a rumor but could somebody clear up part of the story. At one point I heard they had the girls on video camera purchasing the petrol from the local petrol station. This wasn't mentioned in the story, also how did Annette get pulled into this. It would have been good to discuss what evidence they said they did have and what was just rumors.

I remember this, l was in jail back in the 90’s Eastwood Park and remember them going to court for this back in the day (l always wondered what happened after they got sentenced, l’m glad they were eventually cleared).
I was there the day they got sentenced, everyone was extremely shocked even the screws were shocked by the verdict.
My heart went out mostly to Netty (l didn’t really have a conversation with Denise or Donna but l remember Netty sitting on my bed upstairs on B2 when they were on remand, telling me about her “involvement” she was pregnant at the time of her arrest, she had her baby in jail) from what I remember it all sounded so ridiculous, she said the police believed that she filled up her car with petrol drove down the road and siphoned it from her tank?

With out sounding sexist but women don’t know how to siphon petrol.
My ex boyfriend showed me how to siphon petrol, not that l ever felt the need to no anyway lol.
My point is girls just don’t know that kind of thing.
Sad to hear Netty died of a heroin overdose, that conviction killed her in the end because she wasn’t a heroin addict before she went to jail.
SWP should be on special measures. Blatantly obvious this woman is innocent. Anything to "solve" a case. Sad 😢

@johnjenkins-uc6vr they are innocent. What's so funny? There's nothing funny about any of this. Only sick people would find any of this funny. If there was any doubt the girls were guilty they would never have been released. Theres no way they did it - it makes no sense. They were railroaded by SWP, who were desperate to make an arrest to solve this high profile case.

Another amazing case covered. Hadn’t heard that of this before your podcast, hope the true perpetrators are found eventually. Good on Denise for speaking up & standing her ground on her innocence! What a powerful podcsat, very sad for the victims that lost there lives. But, just look at Denise's face that alone tells you shes speaking the truth. I hope she and her pals get the justice they so rightly deserve. More than anything though, i pray to Jesus that the perpetrator gets his justice one day. They were drug users and whenever youre involved in drugs you get exposed to bad people.
If they'd never been doing drugs, they'd never have met Shaun and Diane.
Edit: If Annette had been at home with her husband and children instead of running around with Donna, she wouldn't have been drawn into the whole mess.
