I always feel that Adrienne is the realest celeb. She appreciates where she is now because she has lived it growing up and doesn't hide it... I'm in the UK but still follow her career.

YES to thrifting. Love that you mentioned this. I’m 26 years old and was raised by my grandmother who taught me to be very frugal. I grew up thrifting and to this day I always get compliments on clothes people don’t realize are thrifted.

Love these discussions every time! It’s reassuring to hear that Mariah uses some of the same finance tricks I do as a fellow 25-year-old. Also loved learning about the high-low rule regarding fashion. I’m always hesitant to spend on luxury pieces but I definitely take Adrienne’s point about buying investment pieces.

Also another great tip is always keep physical cash on you ,and save it as well instead of keeping all money digital because digital can crash then you’re not able to have access to your money. Keep physical cash on you and put some of it away in your house. Don’t rely solely on keeping all your money in banks

Just a note: jewelery does not hold the same value as plain gold. Unless it’s an uber expensive - super rare - piece of jewelery, you probably won’t get the same resale value.

Ngl I don’t think she’d be able to answer that bc it depends on how well ur business is doing, cost of manufacturing, etc. If it’s within ur means hire an accountant or at least a meeting with one bc it can help you understand a base level of what you can pay urself without your business losing out

I'm a thrifter too Mariah. But I've gotten it down to only buying when I need to replace a used up piece. I have been getting rid of fast fashion pieces once I watched a video on how Viscose is made, which is a BiG fast fashion fabric. 😢 And I sew, so I do my own tailoring! LOVE that for Me!😁

in england/london taxes automatically get taken out of your pay check so it's not something you ever have to worry about & every year you get a tax rebate so you get about 10% of your money back

I find it so weird how the tax system works in America. In NZ the tax comes out before we the employees actually get it. Like in our payslip it’ll say we earned maybe $1200 that week and $200 went straight to tax and we get the remaining $1000. Then we get a tax return in the middle of each year.

This was great to watch, it’s rare to see people discussing finances. I was always taught to save, and continue to be frugal regardless of my high income. However, it’s hard sometimes when I see everyone around me living a lavish lifestyle and feeling like I don’t fit in.

1- Pay yourself first : pay ur savings account.
2- Turn paid off debt into savings.
3- Track ur spending in detail.
4- Visualize ur goals and work towards them.

I always thank myself for all the financial decisions I've made. Another tip I would give is if you get any money from the government especially during tax time, put that money into your savings account.

When I worked as a preschool assistant teacher I would get paid at my first preschool assistant teaching job once a month on the fifth of every month and they would take out state tax and federal income tax from your paycheck. This happened every month for six years while I was working there I would of course clear myself as single and I will get a tax refund and that would be my money to spend on whatever I chose to spend it on or as I like to call it my bullshit money but yes the government must be paid and they do take it out of your check whether you get paid once a month every week or every two weeks the company that you work for or school that you work for or whatever your job entails must take the state and federal income tax out of your check. Because if they don’t take that money out of your check on your behalf for you and pay it for you to the government you’ll end up owing money at the end of the year for state and federal income tax and you don’t wanna have to do that you would rather have it taken out of your check every week every two weeks or once a month and have your employer pay it on your behalf for you then you end up having to pay for it yourself at the end of the year you want that tax refund to work for you you don’t wanna work for it but you learn as you get older
