I had good hair before I found your channel. Now, to quote you, I’ve got “the best hair in the room”. I never dreamed at 55 I’d have such long healthy hair. Thank you!
Same I’m 59 and my hair is longer than it’s ever been! Mostly because I quit getting my hair trimmed every 8-12 weeks! It’s to the middle of my back and healthy!
@@v1olante I put oil in my hair when it’s wet so as it drys it soaks it in and I also put some in when it’s dry but I only wash my hair once a week ! My hair is very thin so I only use a small amount! 😊
Im growing my hair after Chemo.. its barely at 2cm long but im already here bing watching this channel to grow it out and maintain it as healthy as possible!! God gave me a chance to try again lol, im not about to screw this up!!
So sorry to hear you've been through this. I had breast cancer but only had to have an op. I had to have a lot cut off due to COVID then the hairdresser but each time I went she was cutting more and more off each time. I hope you grow it successfully and I'm hoping mine goes to. Keeping everything crossed for you and wishing you well 🙏 🤞 🤗
I’ve been following this routine for a month. After I cut 6 inches off my long hair, I wanted to start over and take good care of it. My hair is in the best condition of my life. I’m 35, and it’s in better shape than when I was in high school. This routine is GOLD!
How cuold you follow this routine for a month if this video was realised 13 days ago and your comment is 12 days ago? You wrote this comment a day after the pubblication of this video
I can’t express how much using these products and using this method have changed the quality of my hair. My hair looks good for days. One thing he recommends that’s not in this video is making sure your brushes are clean. I myself have a huge hair product grave yard. Not all expensive. I style my hair like once a week and daily add oil to my ends. My scalp doesn’t get greasy. Also washing my hair as suggested in other videos of Chris’s has made a huge difference. Stop watching all the other ppl on UA-cam telling you misinformation. Chris is the GOAT for hair.
I applied some advice and I already went from washing my hair every day to every other day which is a huge win in my books. Looking forward to switch to proper products once I run out of the drugstore ones!
@@TanyaTsukrova lol i did the same thing at first. Ordered everything. Couldn’t wait for it to be shipped before my hair needed a proper wash. The technique alone made a visible difference. Then with the products I was like this is why my hair hated me for so long 🤣
@@lauraArual I’m a broke high school student and I calculated how much all the products he recommended were gonna be (one of each) and the total came to $200 dollars, have you found any cheaper products that work? I know it won’t be the same but I literally can’t afford it, that’s one moth of minimum wage in my country
@@Leeknows.eyelash well I started by just applying the techniques. Then I started ordering the products. I’d search the product and see where I could get it cheapest. The hardest one was purology for the leave in conditioner. It’s expensive! Ik últa does huge deals twice a year on shampoo and conditioner. Honestly just using the technique really made a difference. So I’d suggest start at the beginning. Buy the shampoo recommended for your hair. Then the next product and so on. Haven’t run out of any of the products and literally properly following everything my hair never gets greasy. I wash once a week. I could go longer but my hair is to my butt and I’m forever getting something in it. 😒 it’s a huge investment but you’ll end up saving money. I was steady running out of crappy products and unhappy with my hair.
@@Leeknows.eyelash Check the ingredients of each peoduct and find a "dupe" which has the same ingredients for the most part. The list doesn't open for me fpr some reason, so I am not able to help, even though I am curious to see what he recommends.
I've binged so many of your videos that I wasn't sure where to put this comment. About two or three months ago I found this channel and I really thought I had tried EVERYTHING. My hair was oily on the scalp and dry on the mids and ends. It was always frizzy after washing and air drying. I tried Olaplex, I tried wearing a bonnet to bed. I can't list everything because it would take too long. I have naturally curly, fine/medium hair. According to Chris's test it's medium. Other stylists have said it's fine. After trying so many things, I was skeptical of everyone's advice, but I decided to try one more time before just cutting it off which was not at all what I wanted to do. To all the curly girlis out there who think they need a curl activator, after following Chris's instructions, I don't need it. My curls are beautiful and my hair is healthy. This is what I did that made the difference : I used the products Chris suggested for my hair type based on his quiz and the fact that I air dry my hair. I cleaned my brushes based on his tutorial because embarrassingly I didn't realize that the way I was cleaning them wasn't enough. I use the brush he suggested for curly hair. I use the hair mask he suggested twice a week. I do believe a bonnet is beneficial, but I honestly haven't had to use it to see dramatic results. I should also note that I sweat a lot - in the gym, on my bike, at the beach, and with annoying hot flashes (thanks to perimenopause), and all it took was following Chris's advice for me to get my hair back to the way it was in my 20s minus the color - lol! That's not natural anymore. Chris, thank you so much for being a credible resource on social media! You're a gem!
I'm so glad you found a place to post your comment! Because it's exactly where I needed it to be so I could read it!! I, too, am dealing with horrible sweating issues! Also, due to Perimenopause! I sweat all the time, at all the WRONG times! And it always seems to be that I only sweat...on my face and head!! DRIPPING, POURING sweat! Lol. In the morning, at night, right after I get out of the shower, right after I finish putting on my makeup, WHILE I am putting on my makeup! When it's hot out, when it's cold out. NEVER while I am grocery shopping, but without a doubt, EVERY SINGLE TIME I am in line to pay for those groceries. I've had cashiers hand me paper towels while they are ringing me through...without me even having to ask for them! SO unbelievably embarrassing. 😰😰 I am 52. I still get my monthly friend except it is so much worse than when I was young. I don't wear makeup anymore because I sweat too much it's not worth it. And I love wearing makeup! And my hair? I have long, fine hair. That I also color myself!😊 But I can't remember the last time I actually 'did' my hair. Dried it straight. I ALWAYS just wash, and up in a bun it goes. Because it makes me too hot to wear it down. Even in the cold weather months in the North East! I was interested in trying these hair products. I tend to not buy expensive or more pricey ones because of the fact that I don't even do anything with it! I know hair products aren't going to help with the sweating. The only thing that has shown any promise..is taking Vitamin D. I have truly noticed a big difference in the sweating episodes I get. I want to do my hair again too! Did you get all of the products he suggested? Which ones did you get? Like I said, I'm 52, Caucasian, long hair to about mid back length, wavy, fine hair, NOT thinning, I wash my hair usually every time I shower, 90% of the time I airdry, normal scalp with no issues and at home box dyed about 4 times a year, not much gray hair, just a little around hair line above forehead. Hair is pretty healthy I think. Probably because I never do anything with or to it! Lol Sorry this was so long! I saw we had something in common and kind of went off on a rant for a bit! Thanks for reading!
Just wanted to say thank you . I am 73 year old lady who has never in her life had long hair . Your information has made that possible and my husband (and myself) are delighted with the results your suggestions have produced! Not only is it quite long down the mid-back but also healthy and shiny ❤
He is spot-on and saved my hair! I went and got my hair cut today and my hairdresser was thinking she was going crazy. She didn't say anything until the end, but she then said "what have you been doing because your hair and scalp look great and your hair is fuller and not disappearing". I told her I was following this guy right here! She was very impressed. Thank you again for everything you do!
I have dark hair and got regular highlights for years. At an appointment in June it suddenly all caught up with me and my hair started melting and breaking off. To salvage what we could we cut off about 8 inches. The pieces around the hairline were the worst. Some only an inch or two long. My hair felt and looked like straw. Then I found your channel. I jumped all in with all your recommended products. In the 3 months I’ve been using these products and following your advice my hair has changed DRASTICALLY. I won’t pretend it’s perfect but it is worlds better than before. It has softness and shine again. Every week I see more and more improvement. Thank you Chris, you saved my hair!
As a stylist, your hair should have NEVER gotten to that point. Your stylist should have spoken with you about possible outcomes. I would never bleach someone's hair if I didn't feel it was in the condition to handle it which seems that your stylist totally didn't do. I myself have been getting my level 2/3 dark brown hair highlighted with a full head of highlights to a platinum level 9/10 for 8 years and I've never had my hair melt off because my stylist knows about hair integrity. Sometimes we just can't achieve the level we want in one or two, sometimes not even three sittings without severely compromising the hair to the point yours did and that's never a good thing unless the client is full blown aware and that's what they want. Had one chick with long hair whom wanted it done in one session but was fully aware of the consequences but also was cutting her hair to a pixie afterwards so she wanted to document the process of just how damaging it is to not follow hair integrity. I'm so sorry this happened to you as it never should have, no matter how long you've been getting it done. I hope you've found a better caring stylist ❤
@tishaandterrycrawford3453 I have a question for you since you are a hairdresser. I'm 64 1/2 and look much younger and have great hair. I'm 100% gray. a little thinning going on up top but can style in a way to camouflage it. I use topik fiber to camouflage what's going on in the back of head forget what it's called. I have dark long hair. As soon as I told my hairdresser I wanted to embrace the grey I got his attention (finally) he took off a good inch and layered it so it would have some style instead of one length. I've seen him on tiktok he knows wht he's doing as far as cutting hair. The gray will come in fast. I'm not sure about going full gray yet lol but he started talking about lowlights which I have know idea what he was talking about. will this damage my hair? good idea? Sry so long..
I never heard about leave-in conditioner before I found your videos. I tried it yesterday for a first time and today I went on bus station and my neighbor told me: "Your hair looks gorgeous today, what's the secret to it?" I was amazed by it. Thank you for your advices :)
Can you make a video about wavy and curly hair? The diference between the curls, which brushes are the best, best products, and specialy how do we keep the hair looking nice on the days that we don't need to wash. My biggest doubt is i have wavy hair and i don't need to wash so regularly but on the days that i don't need to wash i don't know how should i keep it nice cause i don't brush my hair when it's dry. If you could make a video about this i would really appreciate :)
Same. I haven't seen anything on natural curls. My scalp doesn't get oily... but I'd like to keep my curls nice on day 5. I could go 7 days between washes if I could keep my curls nice for more than 4 days.
I am so looking forward to following your advice as my hair is fine, flighty and frizzy. But dry as well due to years of neglect, colour, heat treatment, keratin etc. Here's to a new hair routine. Love your videos.
I found your channel a few weeks ago. I went out and purchased EVERYTHING you recommended. I’ve followed your hair routine since and my hair has never looked or felt so good. Ladies don’t skip this routine by. It works!!!!! Thank you for saving my hair.
@@BlowoutProfessorI just stumbled upon your videos going down a healthy hair care routine rabbit hole 😂 I’m so thankful for your videos! You are so educated and really make this simple for people like myself just beginning to take their hair care routine serious but not knowing where to start. I can’t wait to add your recommendations into my hair care routine. I have a question for you though. Along with your “holy trinity” what are your thoughts on curl creams/curl enhancers? When would a curl cream be applied along with your product line up? Annnddd of course, what curl cream do you recommended most? 2A/2B hair .
@@BlowoutProfessor I needed to ask you what role does a hair serum play and if I should add it in my routine cuz I see my friend using it and her hair looks really glossy but I'm afraid to risk my hair rn to try out something new cuz thanks to you it has had an amazing transformation over a few months now 😭❤️
I am chronically ill and have not much energy for personal care. Your videos are amazing and show me how I can get healthier, shinier hair with little effort. I feel better and more beautiful. Thank you for your incredible work and the pictures and metaphors. You make my heart laugh and dance! [used a translator.] 💖greetings from germany.
I’ve been suffering with acne for years. It changed and shaped my life extremely. I just wanna say you are so worthy of self care and love. God bless 🙏💜
I have learned so much! Part of the reason I feel confident to watch your videos on a roll is that you don't inundate viewers with UA-cam commercials. If you can keep things this way and still make it worthwhile as a channel, WE THANK YOU! I am in it to the end of each video with constant interruptions!
At my 58 years, I just realized I needed leave in conditioner. Goes to show, you’re never too old to learn! Thank you thank you thank you. Sending this video to my young adult kids.
Honestly after years of not understanding why my hair stayed so frizzy and damaged, your advice has really saved me. Before, I would lather on shampoo, conditioner AND masks - then air dry my hair with a bit of oil in it. It made the damage a LITTLE less apparent, but it didn't make it go away. I started doing to small shampoos with just a volume shampoo (not a moisture one), a mask and then the after-care you advise (leave in conditioner first, blowdry, then oil) and my hair looks sooooo much less damaged. Thank you.
Hi! I am the victim of a hairdresser who thinks he loves me. This is the third time he deliberately damaged my hair. I watched all your videos. You are amazing! I am getting the products you recommended in your ‘Best Repair Products 2024’ and I am starting your healthy hair regime you delineated in ‘Healthy Hair Kit For Beginners’ for those who air dry their hair. Thank You So Much!!!... Edited to add: I have bought all the products you recommended. I will begin with the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate in the morning...followed by washing my hair with the Extra Love Thickening Shampoo and Pay Day Instant Repair (the store was out of the Extra Love Conditioner. I also bought the Pureology Color Fantastic leave-In conditioner. I tried it and it is fantastic!! I will use the Olaplex 7 on my ends. And, I will condition my ends weekly using the Moroccan Oil Hydrating Mask I just bought.. Thank you for recommending the Wet Brush! I got it today and love it! Thank you for recommending all of these products! I feel as though I have someone in my corner helping me through this incident I endured, Looking forward to watching more of your fantastic videos!! Thank you so much!!
You need millions of peeps to watch your vids, Chris. Your advice is gold. I'd more or less got the 'washing my hair' routine right. From now on it will be RIGHT!
Thank goodness I already use all the trinity of hair care. Lost my hair to cancer, and it’s now shoulder length. But it came back in gray and its texture has changed and it’s so dry! But I’m on the right road so hopefully!
I've been following your healthy hair routine for 6 months. It has made a HUGE difference. My dry static breaking hair is so very much better. I am unusual in that I have to use conditioning mask from the roots, because if I don't they go really dry and electric. Doing this does not make my roots oily
I've been following these steps for the past 2 weeks and LADIES!! Listen to him and don't be hesitant. Your hair will thank you. My hair is full of bounce and i can go longer between wash days (i have oily scalp) AND my ends already look far better from all the chemical and heat damage. Thank you for saving my hair!!
@@hexagonloop4629 if you've been following him for a long time you'd know this is not the first time he's preaching about his trinity routine. You're clearly new here.
Can you follow these steps with mixed hair? My 6 yr. old granddaughter is black, white, and Spanish, and has beautiful hair. It reaches her waist, but I'm always questioning the routine of washing it, and what products are best for her hair. Her ends are what are the most noticeable because they always look dry, even though I do use oil in her hair, along with leave-in conditioner. There are times when I want her to wear her hair down, but by the end of the school day, it's dry and tangled.
I really appreciate your explanations of these products! I have several medical issues that affect my hair and have been using women's rogaine along with correlating shampoo, and conditioner to thickening and regrow my hair . Almost every year I have a Lupus flair that causes my hair to thin and come out in clumps. So I have stopped bleaching my hair blonde and went back to dark brown, and cut the damage off to shoulder length.
Chris, I wondered why you said to put conditioner on your hair and then also put leave in conditioner on as well but the penny's dropped - it's like skincare, I seal in my actives and moisture with an occlusive product so it makes sense to do it with your hair too x
I tried doing a blowout using his techniques, and even though I didnt have all the products needed, it turned out way better than how my hair usually is! Im so excited to see how it will look with the blowout cream and the right shampoo. ❤
I really appreciate your approach, not just because it works. and also because if you buy only a few hair products, then even with a limited budget you can afford the best. Thank you!)
It's still the same routine, just with cheaper products. You don't need to buy the exact products or brands shown in this video; they're just examples. I only use drugstore brands, but I'll start using them in the way this video descriibes to see if I can get my hair looking better.
I think bulk size of Redken products actually come out less than mid-level pharmacy brands when you calculate $/use/amount. I just got the shampoo and conditioner and will see if I can make it last 9 month at 2 washes per week. I think it’s realistic :)
@@GitanaRusa2012 Oh yeah, definitely! I not only look at the brand and price, but also the price per liter. Bulk size often ends up being cheaper that way. A year ago I bought the L'Oréal Metal Detox shampoo bottle of 1,5L (for €56 I think?), and I've only used like half of it so far with washing my hair 1x a week.
I love every tip you give, and I incorporated leave in conditioner and hair oil in my routine, and it's been a revelation! My husband also has long hair for the first time in his life, and I once applied the leave in conditioner and the hair oil in his hair while tying his ponytail for him. He came to me the next day and started asking about those products because his hair never felt softer!!!! My issue with my hair is that I have recurring dandruff, it's very itchy. I incorporated shampoos that contain Ketoconazole, based on my doctor's recommendation. I have to keep using them continuously, otherwise my dandruff returns. Those shampoos are really drying, I don't know whether you have any tips on dandruff-prone hair?
Look up Dr.Bergs video on dandruff and BRad Mondo interviews a dr as well in one video that’s informative. But MY suggestion is try a very diluted apple cider vinegar rinse after your conditioner. Don’t rinse it out. I have scalp psoriasis and dandruff and this helps a LOT the more I do it. Like once a week. Just mix a tablespoon into a cup of cool water (purified/distilled water is probably best for your hair) and pour it onto your scalp after you rinse your conditioner before you get out of the shower. Sit there for a few seconds and then just put your hair in a microfiber towel. Let the vinegar dry. Don’t rinse it out. The smell goes away especially after you put leave in conditioner.
@@amandamagni1606 I think that's very good advice. The ACV is great with exfoliation, gets rid of buildup, and fights bacteria, and also seems to boost conditioner. I use it on my nails, too.
Thank you so much. I had lovely long hair, then trust my luck, suffered ‘post covid hair fall’ all through last year, leaving me with about a third of my hair left… and had to chop it off. Texture was terrible, and it looked terrible, so I had no choice. I’ve never used good quality hair products, always blindly bought supermarket crap. Since I discovered your channel, I’ve finally invested in some decent quality hair products, and have been using them about 3 weeks so far. I cannot actually believe how much better my hair feels!!! Yes it was expensive but it was a pure investment in me. I’m so excited as my hair grows back - it’s feeling so amazing already. I’ll never look back! Thank you so much for helping me ❤
I started following you and your recommendations about a month ago. I have oily, thin, fine long blonde hair.( well, gray/blonde mix) My hair has never been better and I would have never believed I could stop washing my hair every day. FREEDOM!!!!! And damn, wish I knew about you when I used to go to Fort Myers regularly.
Really? The volume injection actually worked? Hmmmm maybe I'll try it. I have to wash my hair at least every other day. I do not like using dry shampoo too much
I saw immediate results but now 1 mth after following these tips. Using hair mask olaplex leave in conditioner microfiber towels and hair oil this video changed my life and saved my extremely damaged hair. Thank you so much for not gatekeeping 🙏♥️ keeping it short simple and funny ❤️
I've started watching your video's and learned so much. I was constantly trying to find products to tame my frizz, but since following your Healthy Hair routine, I no longer struggle with frizz. I have now found my hair shampoo soulmate. Your kit is amazing, and your advice is spot on. Thank you so much for your advice.
I only tried leave in conditioner once. No wonder my results weren't good. I did not use any conditioner in the shower before i used it. I didn't realize I was supposed to use BOTH conditioners. The product I used was really slimey and waxy. I never tried using a leave in again. Live and learn. Thanks Chris.
I’ve been doing the trinity routine for 2 weeks , with the products you recommended for fine hair & my hair is soo much better and I don’t have to wash it as often. Best advise I’ve ever had , thank you Chris . Just need advise on a good hairdryer as cannot buy Harry Josh in Britain please 🙏🙏
Stop!! You're in Fort Myers??? I've driven by your salon so many times without knowing!! So glad to see a local business having this much success online! Will definitely have to book a sesh. Thank you for all your hair wisdom!
Yep, I've been on board with the hair gurus products for 8+ months and my husband keeps raving about how good my hair looks. "Never looked this good" WOWZA!! I'm 62, went gray 2 years ago and have gorgeous, soft, healthy hair that actually keeps growing. I get a trim every 3 months, she cuts about 2 inches off every time....NEVER thought my hair would ever grow past my shoulders. Thank you Chris!❤
Oof, not even thirty here and half my hair is gray... I blame my parents, both had the same problem, just hope I won't take after my dad (who had none left after 40) (although, he does rock it, so maybe it wouldn't be the worst)
I can tell you that I had broken and beaten hair last year and I watched this video and immediately went out and bought this trio of products and I can tell you that today my hair is so beautiful. I love you huero.
This is the BEST hair channel I know. I'd love it if you did a video on how to care for your hair when you workout almost every day... the accumulated sweat on my scalp, let's just say it's not letting me get optimal results 😋
I have been on a hair care journey to bring back my curls and get my hair healthy again. Let me tell you it has been a JOURNEY due all the misinformation out there, especially regarding healthy curls. After nearly 4 years of research and experimentation, you are the first that I have that I have come across that breaks it down into such a simple and easy to understand method. I wish I had found your videos on day one. Thank you.
I LOVE your channel I’d love tutorials w/fine hair gals. The struggle is real. I know less is more but as Summer says on her channel, we’re [trying to] defy gravity!
CHRIS! I just want to give you a huge hug and THANK YOU! 😢 I got all of your recommended products for my fine hair and my super processed hair feel like virgin hair again 😭 I didn't even do any special treatments just wash and blow dry. I'm in love with my hair again I've been trying to find my hair care soul mates and I finally have ❤ THANK YOU❤❤
Hi Chris. Great breakdown video for healthier hair! 🙂 Can you please make a video about your favorite fragrance free options for shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner?
Oh PLEASE !!! And plus fragrance free hair oil, too! The struggle is REAL 😖 I end up using suboptimal products because I don't want a migraine headache 😮
Hey! Unscented products usually don't perform very well :( Phillip Kingsley is the best I've found so that's worth giving a shot. But the results aren't as good as the scented brands I recommend 🙏
@BlowoutProfessor Hi Chris, thanks so much for replying! That's interesting to know, kind of a shame too haha. I'll give them a try though. Thanks again! 🙂
Hi Chris, I have been using The Australian Organic Range, shampoo, conditioner and argan oil serum due to extreme thinning and breakage. I have found these products to be very helpful. I have no more hair falling out, and it has really thickened. While it has worked miricals on my hair, watching your videos you don't seem to agree. What are you thoughts on this shampoo and conditioner? Iam not using it because it's organic, I'm using it because it had great reviews on hair loss. Thank you
I love your channel for hair advice! I have severe seb derm/oil but fine hair with no body. For years I shaved my head because the seb derm treatment was so harsh and I react to 2/3rds of all the flowery fragrance in most shampoos. Then I decided "Screw it, I want my long hair back," and started this journey again. It is SO tough bc the seb derm shampoo completely fries your mids and ends like a bad bleach job, but any product with moisture-sealing ingredients (oil) I react to by having inflammation and oiliness. (I can't even use ANY styling product because the scalp can't breathe, and oils, and then fungus grows...) After watching a bunch of your videos, I think I may have been improperly WASHING and applying the products, so I'm going to try some of your techniques now. I'm super hopeful they will work and if they do, I'll be back!
My hair was always my one true vanity, so when I thought menopause had ruined my hair forever, I was devastated. But I've been following this routine for just over 4 months and it's ALL TRUE!! My hair is strong, shiny, and healthy again. Put down the drug store products and stop following the weird hair care TikToks. The Blowout Professor speaks the truth about hair products and how little your hair actually needs once you've got the right routine going on. (Not mentioned here but it's in other videos - I also added a Wet Brush to my "kit," and clean it regularly.)
Good to know, and glad glad for you! My hair was my crowning glory too, then menopause struck. I think my biggest problem though, is my iron and ferritin has plummeted. Low ferritin will destroy your hair!. Lord willing I will get my crowning glory back. Lol 53 is still young enough to have.great hair!! (I always said I was going to took like Lila Quartermaine on GH.....old woman with long, thick, white hair).Lol
I love your videos! I’ve been following your advice for over 6 months and I finally have smooth, silky, moisturised hair! I rarely blow dry and style my hair because was so dry but now when I do, the style lasts and my hair is not dry at all.
I have long thin fine hair (hair type test said it was medium type, though) and have binge watched countless videos of Chris's ♥ I'm confused on whether or not I should use a condition after shampooing. Some videos show shampooing & conditioning followed by a leave-in conditioner to "lock in the moisture". Some show shampooing alone and then followed by a leave-in conditioner after showering. Just trying to clarify before making my recommended purchases. Thanks in advance from this hair junkie Ü What a fantastic channe!!
I just ordered the leave in conditioner and hair oil that you recommended, and I'm super excited to try them out! Thank you for the time you put into these videos!
Thank you so much for teaching us proper way to look after our hair. I already order some shampoo, condition, leaves in conditioner and oils. Now I can't wait for my healthy hair soon. Thank you so much again 😊
Pureology strength cure (especially the conditioner) has worked best for my fine hair that is fragile and gets greasy easily. Doesn’t weigh it down and detangles effortlessly. Has worked better for me than the redken volume injection for detangling/softness.
Following your advice , less is more and shampooing correctly , even using real cheap products I've noticed a difference !! Have now ordered your recommended redkin s & c , pureoloy leavein and oil. .mask will wait a while. AND I have more room in bathroom getting rid of all other bottles not needed 🎉
Hi! I recently started watching your videos! I changed my whole hair routine and started doing everything you suggested! My hair is already improving. Thank you so much!!! The only problem I’m having is, as soon as it’s humid out my hair on the sides blows up with frizz(not the back of my hair). What can I do to help tame my frizzy sides the next day after washing to help this?? I don’t want to flat iron or do more damage?
Chris, I just found your channel yesterday and have been binge watching so many of your videos. Thank you for showing us a simple routine, and that we don't need all of the expensive products out there. My hair has been a disaster for most of my life. It has always been very fine and thin, with no volume, and so many split ends. I finally bit the bullet this past Christmas and got some Olaplex products, which have made a huge difference. However, it's not financially sustainable for me to continue with those long term, so I was so happy when you did not recomment their shampoo and conditioner in one of your videos. I'm off to take the quiz and see the best products for my hair.
You are so good at inspiring! I can't wait to get my hair care game going!! One question; I've never been able to figure out what "coarse hair" really means. I have a loootttt of hair, but the hairs are very thin individually. Do I have thin, medium or coarse hair? This has confused me for years and years...
I just tried the products suggested for my hair type and OMG. Im so grateful. Since I stopped coloring my hair and embrased my silver colour I didn't think I can get such a shine back. Thank you
Hey professor, can you please tell us other alternatives of purology leave in treatment and redken volume injection shampoo and conditioner because it's not available in India and other parts of the world, thank you!
Here is an idea: read and save the ingredient list of the product and find one that has similar ingredients to it, that way you can get a product that is closer to his suggestion without having to spend tons of money trying out different brands. Hope this helps.
I have fine hair and my scalp gets greasy on day 3. I actually recently gave up on shampoo and started using shikakai powder on my hair instead and was surprised to go 5 to 6 days without wash with one day of dry shampoo to give it extra boost and no dandruff. Plus it's natural so why would I go buy chemicals. However, I've never used leave-in conditioner before. Always thought it's just that some might wash it off, others leave it in... (Because some really do leave in the conditioner that's meant for washing off.) So today I bought one and looking forward to see how will it affect my hair. Since I don't know any natural replacement for leave-in conditioner yet, but when I do, I'll probably switch too.
Chris, I cannot describe how grateful I am for your advice! I've tried Redken Volume Injection for my hair type and it turned out to be a TOTAL GAME CHANGER ❤❤❤❤❤
You have given me hope! I’ve washed my hair this way for the first time today, though I don’t have all of the products in place yet, I’ve had to substitute with what I have until I can get what I need. But today I have started anew! Thank you for your videos!
Why do I feel like I’m the only person on the planet that doesn’t know how to Apply the correct amount of leave in conditioners and heat protectant I will literally wash my hair and apply those and my hair is heavy and greasy again. I DONT GET IT!!! LMAO HELP!!!
You can try with 2 sprays, spread it in your wet hair. if it's too little, next time put 4 sprays, and increase bit by bit until you get the perfect coverage for your hair. I also found that not all conditioners are the same. The spray one from Redkin is a fine mist and does not weigh the hair down (I got it based on Chris's recommendation). I also previously used Milkshake Whipped Cream before, and still absolutely love it, very hard to overdo it, it does not leave any residue and will not weigh your hair down.
This is fantastic. I’m excited to start washing my hair correctly for the first time in my life!! 😂 My hair has been falling out badly and it’s really depressing me terribly. I hope by washing my hair properly my hair will stop falling out. 😢
Hi Chris ! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and in a simple and funny way ❤ My question is about exercise and hair - I workout quite often and just wondering if there is a way I should protect it and my style - I sweat out of my head, I feel like I should at least rinse my hair. Any advice ? Thanks
You were right on with my quiz, I already use a moisture shampoo and conditioner. And I use some of the other products . I will try out some of the other ones you suggest.
Omg actually that L’Oréal hydro spray in the photo you put in the beginning is amazing 😭. Ik you don’t like these things but I spray it on my ends at night and silky smooth for 3 days. No weight down no dirty feeling just amazing
@@mariemaier5630 actually they haven’t in a very long time. There are some pages that say they pay third parties to do the testing however it’s been confirmed to not be true. Btw L’Oréal creators also created Redkin and many other high end and drug store products. I’m sure you probably use one of em too. But they don’t do this testing anymore which is great
I have dyed and or permed my hair for most of my life until around the age of 50 and my hairdresser is amazing how health my hair is still. My hair is thick as well and grows like mad 😂… I actually use Moroccanoil and absolutely LOVE it!
I've been using your routine for about a year now, and my hair is just getting better and better every day. Thank you for this life-changing info - and your vids are hilarious aswell. Love love love!
Being entertaining along with visual information will definitely help us all remember what you are conveying long-term. I got some of your recommendations, and will be incorporating it soon. We'll see how it goes.
How do you feel about bond builders? Are they necessary/good for fine hair with dry/damaged ends? I tried the new Redken acidic bonding line that's blowing up and it was great for about 2 washes and then I lost a HUGE chunk of hair in the shower 😭😭😭
Ive been looking for a leave in conditioner but i didnt realize you need to use both normal and leave in at the same time. Well im excited to try this out.
I clicked on this video so fast lol I just got your recommended products, cleaned out my hair graveyard and I'm now ready to implement all your tips. I can't wait. Thank you
Love your videos...they're so educational! Just a small tip, and I may be the only one -- but the cute editing was a little much to accompany practically every sentence in a 12 minute video. You're a great and compelling speaker, so the fun edits should enhance and not detract from your message. Still a great video!
I’ve purchased everything from your recommended list. Although my hair stays “clean” longer, I still struggle because a. I have very fine hair and straightening it just makes it look terrible, b. I work out 5 days a week and sweat A LOT (thank you perimenopause). How do I combat the “slight curl/frizz” and the sopping wet hair after working out and style it again? I also wear it in a bun because, well, it gets in the way and if I left it down I’d simply look like a wet dog once done working out. So on day two, I’m already either clipping it up or wearing it in a bun because there’s not much I can do with it. Any suggestions?
I have fine but a lot of wavy/curly hair that looks awful straightened. Found too much product is bad...I use a light conditioner or small amount of leave in conditioner but not both. Can't get past day 3 not washing. If need to wash, do. Using powder between washes helps with oily roots to a certain extent.
@@carolyna4484 I can go 4 days without washing even with sweating like crazy. It’s the styling that I’m missing. My hair tends to “curl” and get frizzy after the gym “air dry” with sweating so much. So it doesn’t look good anymore. I use very little product of the products Chris mentioned because my hair is so fine. I simply can’t leave it down once I’ve been to the gym and let it air dry after. I use the oil only in the very bottom of my hair because that’s where my hair is the most fragile/dry and I use half the recommended leave in conditioner for fine hair because I find it makes me need to wash it sooner.
I was wondering about sports as well. I do jjiu jitsu a minimum of 2 a week, but usually more. So, my hair is getting rubbed all over sweaty mats, and same for my daughter with jiu jitsu and wrestling. I was washing it more but I know that's bad for your hair. Not sure what to do so I just keep our every 3rd day wash schedule.
I use all of these I also alternate between adding a clarifying shampoo and Olaplex 3 and k18 after using the k18 for 6 consecutive uses and then I alternate every couple of weeks, I love using the Redken volume injecter shampoo and conditioner I also use Purology 21, and Olaplex 7 bonding oil...I alternate including whatever product I feel my hair needs each time I bathe...My hair is the longest and healthiest it's ever been, Thank you Chris!!! God bless!
Love your channel! My hair has gotten better over this past year. I think the leave in conditioner was definitely a game changer in my routine! Can you do a video on how to correctly section hair for blow drying?? I always seem to get stuck on this
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I just shared this video with my cousine who also has fine (greasy) scalp and washer her hair daily. No wonder her ends are dry. Thanks a lot!! ❤
Chris, I’m so distressed. I took the quiz and it said I have medium hair type. I bought all the products you recommend. Both types of shampoos, conditioners, mask, leave in conditioner, heat protectant, oil, everything. I started using the products and my hair got so frizzy. I have a lot of color damage. I started using the IGK brand. My hair didn’t seem like it absorbed any of the moisture from the conditioner. I couldn’t take the dryness and had to wash my hair the next day. Then I moved to the pink Redken brand. That was better but still it did not absorb enough moisture. I tried it again with a mask. That weighed my hair down. I’m using the leave in conditioner but it really doesn’t seem like it works. Help me please. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I do have well water if that makes a difference.
Well water DEFINITELY makes a difference. I’d buy a filter for your shower head or something. And do a clarifying wash to get any build up out. Spray like 10 sprays of leave in into your hands while your hair is still super wet. Then after you take your towel off, put a couple more sprays into your hands and add it a little more. Maybe that will help.
Water makes alllll the difference. I just watched a video of a girl who tried the same shampoo she loves at home while away and she hated it. I’d try getting a shower head filter and see if that is the answer! Good luck!
Maybe that's because you have low-porosity hair. It is harder for low-porosity hair to absorb the products than high-porosity hair as it is very tight. So if the products you use aren't light enough or suitable for low porosity you might get product buildup that weighs down your hair. I also have low porosity and medium hair with a dry scalp and am still trying to find my shampoo soulmate:D (I haven't tried but) I doubt the volumizing shampoo Chris recommended will suit me as I heard volumizing shampoos might get your hair dryer too. I'll try a hydrating/moisturizing shampoo that's not heavy and I hope this will work. Chris should make a video on hair porosity as it's a game-changer in my opinion:)
Thank you guys for the suggestions. I do have a water filter on my house, but I don't have a softener. What I think is happening is these products are removing all the build up well but for some reason it's not reabsorbing the moisture. I'm still puzzled on how to fix this. When I brush my hair when it's dry its still breaking a lot even when I try to be gentle. I guess I'll just keep pushing through and hoping it's supposed to get worse before it gets better.
I love the little editing jokes between you and Leslie (I think it's her anyways, also hello fellow Leslie!) The fantasy theming is very fun. I found your videos a few weeks ago after at least a decade of just shampooing my fine and oily hair and nothing else... and not even doing it properly at that. After a few days I went and found what I could at the local Sephora, got six inches of damaged ends removed, and started seeing how it would go. Since I have a lifetime of not really using any product at all, I'm still getting used to and figuring out ratios and techniques. Using an amika product right now because the store didn't have redken or igk but I'm excited to try out the igk combo next! I've definitely noticed an improvement. Exciting to try switching to the redkens repair product once I finish the batch of olapex 3 I have too since you just put up a comparison video for them. Also, for anyone else with fine hair who is a tosser and turner... I was shocked at how much of a difference a sill/satin sleep bonnet made. Oh, also I really really appreciate your efforts to keep the amount of products needed low. Even just this has been such a huge change to my routine; if it had been much more it might have been overwhelming for me and I might not have bothered. Thanks for all the work you do!
Honestly I was really disappointed with your hair quiz! It only recommended 1 shampoo/conditioner and they were way over my budget! I wish you’d give at least several recommendation options with different price points.
I agree. It only recommend their own brand of shampoo/conditioner. The quiz seemed more like an ad for their own product. It would be fine if it's included with other suggestions but it was the only one listed under shampoo/conditioner and it's super expensive.
@@jalisasarty4353my recommendations were all for brands not available in his product line that are available in stores near me. Perhaps it's because his brand was made for the hair type a majority of people have.
I thought I knew everything about washing hair as I spent 3 years in a hairdressing apprentice, but you taught me something. I had hip length hair that wouldn't retain moisture. It turns out I just needed a decent leave in. I chopped it all off, but now 3 years later, it's long again and healthier, so I'm going to try using a leave-in. My issue is I have a lot of fine wavy hair. If I use a shampoo for dry hair, it gets weighed down, so I use a lightweight one. I probably need one in between.
If you have dried or damaged hair any oil will be great to use before so the shampoo won’t strip the natural oil from your hair . I think coconut oil is alittle to heavy though you will have to wash like 3 times
not from what he has shared on his previous videos. It will get your hair more dirty and will have to use more shampoo to remove the excess oil. For him that is a waste of product.
Thanks! Ive 'mastered' my skincare routine over the years (dry and sensitive skin, so no perfume and fatty cream)...now I want my hair 'fixed'. I have fine/thin hair and and trying to figure out what my best products are. My hair is breaking at the moment (trauma or medication? Not sure, if its medication my doc says it should stabilize in a couple of months...Id rather not switch meds...). I just started using Insight shampoo and conditioner for sensitive skin. I used to use the ones for thin hair (for volume) and it worked but my hair kinda got all over the place...
Regarding your statement 'Either mask or conditioner, never both': Masks have a different PH value than conditioners, which are more on the acidic side. Almost all manufacturers of professional hair care products recommend always finishing a hair wash, even after the mask, with a conditioner to seal the cuticle. Why don't you recommend this?
I had good hair before I found your channel. Now, to quote you, I’ve got “the best hair in the room”. I never dreamed at 55 I’d have such long healthy hair. Thank you!
😂😂
Same I’m 59 and my hair is longer than it’s ever been! Mostly because I quit getting my hair trimmed every 8-12 weeks! It’s to the middle of my back and healthy!
Congratulations on your beautiful hair. I will be 55 next month. My hair is long and is getting healthier from watching his videos.
One question, could anyone tell me if the hair has to be dry when applying the oil?
@@v1olante I put oil in my hair when it’s wet so as it drys it soaks it in and I also put some in when it’s dry but I only wash my hair once a week ! My hair is very thin so I only use a small amount! 😊

Same! And I’m 38! I love it here 😆

This is what I did that made the difference :
I used the products Chris suggested for my hair type based on his quiz and the fact that I air dry my hair.
I am 52. I still get my monthly friend except it is so much worse than when I was young.
I don't wear makeup anymore because I sweat too much it's not worth it. And I love wearing makeup!
And my hair? I have long, fine hair. That I also color myself!😊
But I can't remember the last time I actually 'did' my hair.
Lol
Sorry this was so long!
Love the editing of the videos with Chris in wigs gives me a chuckle every time 😂
I have dark hair and got regular highlights for years.
I agree my hair is curly and coarse. What like a video too !

Thank you.

I've been following these steps for the past 2 weeks and LADIES!! Listen to him and don't be hesitant. Your hair will thank you. My hair is full of bounce and i can go longer between wash days (i have oily scalp) AND my ends already look far better from all the chemical and heat damage. Thank you for saving my hair!!
its just been 12 hours since the video has been uploaded and you have been doing this exact routine for 2 weeks. something is fishy🤣🤣
@@hexagonloop4629 if you've been following him for a long time you'd know this is not the first time he's preaching about his trinity routine. You're clearly new here.
@@hexagonloop4629he has loads of videos where he has already recommended these steps.
I don't think this is the first video he's made on this routine
@@tired5089you're right, its not! he has countless videos on this hair routine
I don't live in the US but I've imported all his recommended products! I'm the happiest I've ever been with my hair!
I really appreciate your approach, not just because it works. and also because if you buy only a few hair products, then even with a limited budget you can afford the best. Thank you!)
I need a broke edition hair care please
fr, 40 euros just the hair oil...
@@kayjalu6501yes! No reason to ever buy just the oil.
I started your suggested process several months ago. I've never had such soft, manageable hair... and at 64yo. Thank you!

Hi, do you mind sharing what shampoo did you end up using for the grays? I feel that it changes the initial hair type and one needs to adapt😅
I was just going to ask about grey hair. I just started to let my grey grow out a few months ago and was wondering about how to take care of it.😊
Oof, not even thirty here and half my hair is gray... I blame my parents, both had the same problem, just hope I won't take after my dad (who had none left after 40) (although, he does rock it, so maybe it wouldn't be the worst)
Heyy
I'm 64 1/2 embracing the grey now. What shampoo do you use? Is it true then that color, low lights, etc damage the hair?

I wish I had found your videos on day one. Thank you.

Hey! Unscented products usually don't perform very well :( Phillip Kingsley is the best I've found so that's worth giving a shot. But the results aren't as good as the scented brands I recommend 🙏

Hi Chris, thanks so much for replying!
(I can't even use ANY styling product because the scalp can't breathe, and oils, and then fungus grows...)
After watching a bunch of your videos, I think I may have been improperly WASHING and applying the products, so I'm going to try some of your techniques now.
Excited for you!
Do you use the Pureology leave in spray conditioner also? I have very fine hair also…
@@mnn6494 yes, I do. Right after showering as he recommends :)

I love Paul Mitchell’s the Leave in for over 30 years it has never failed me
I love you’re content, I have a bob and some hair care advice for short hair would be very helpful
Can you buy it online? Could you can have it sent to India?
So if we can’t use that leave in between washes on dry hair, what do you suggest to add moisture between washes besides oil? Thank you!
LMAO HELP!!!
same! I either use too little or too much! 😨
Same here.

So you shouldn't use hair mask and conditioner one after the other when washing hair? Just pick one if you have dry hair?
I love leave in conditioner and have just started using hair oil and love it. Ill try these tips. Thank you 😁
I love the little editing jokes between you and Leslie (I think it's her anyways, also hello fellow Leslie!) The fantasy theming is very fun.
Me too! Hysterical! 😂
I can’t wait to give this try once I get my haircut it’s been a bit of a mess for a few months now. So I decide it time to start fresh.
Honestly I was really disappointed with your hair quiz! It only recommended 1 shampoo/conditioner and they were way over my budget! I wish you’d give at least several recommendation options with different price points.
I agree
I agree. It only recommend their own brand of shampoo/conditioner. The quiz seemed more like an ad for their own product. It would be fine if it's included with other suggestions but it was the only one listed under shampoo/conditioner and it's super expensive.
Yeah same here. Like their shampoo and conditioner is the ONLY good stuff?!

I hear it’s good to apply oil (coconut oil to be exact) all over your hair before you wash it. Is that a good idea?
Regarding your statement 'Either mask or conditioner, never both':
Masks have a different PH value than conditioners, which are more on the acidic side. Almost all manufacturers of professional hair care products recommend always finishing a hair wash, even after the mask, with a conditioner to seal the cuticle. Why don't you recommend this?
