I urge everyone to take action as soon as you notice great hair fall. For me it started a couple years ago and everyone told me I was exaggerating (because I have thick thick long hair) but now I’m at a stage where even brushing my hair hurts my scalp, went to the dermatologist and I have female pattern baldness… I’m on supplements and serums. Don’t ask for other people’s opinion if you feel something is not right. Please get it checked as it’s a very overwhelming situation and the earlier you “catch it”, the more hair you get to keep on your head 😞
@@Wanderer-b3e if shorter will help you commit to hair care, go for it!. But I really cannot imagine myself with shorter hair so I prefer to keep it long. I’ve really improved my hair with the videos in this channel. I find it easier now that I have an established routine (shampoo, conditioner, leave in and oil) that alone has reeeeally helped with the looks and feel of my hair but that will not help hair thinning so just make sure to get that checked (your vitamins, hormones and all).
That is true. On the contrary and to ease you bit: if you were sick or had s very stressful Event, the hairloss is most probably only temporary and will stop by itself.
Hair fall control tips that work for me: • Stick to a mild hair shampoo for your hair like liitleextraaa cocoonian shampoo. • Start with a pre-wash using a natural hair rinse green tea rinse. • Section the hair in sections and cleanse section by section: beginning with the scalp, followed by the middle, and lastly the length. • Foam up your shampoo generously and scrub with your fingers the shampoo into the scalp and hair and while rinsing out of hair. • Massage warm Coocoonion oil and massage scalp and tie hair in a protective hairstyle.
I got good things about liittlextrra coconnioon shampoo, so after experimenting with different solutions, I decided to gave it a go. It’s been beneficial for my hair fall issue.
Just wanted to drop a comment on how I experienced hair shedding if it can help anyone; in my case it was mental health issues. Consequently, my body deteriorated into a neglected state -- that's when I started to see/feel severe hair loss on top of other bad symptoms. At the time I had thick, long hair that was about waist-length, and every shower or brushing almost always clogged up the drain. I have been feeling better and decided to cut my hair short to try and revive it from scratch (started following tips and guidelines from this channel!), then I adjusted my lifestyle in general by incorporating some light exercises and just eating balanced, full meals instead of snacking. While I can't say I have completely recovered, I did notice that the hair loss has reduced by a significant amount. Take care of yourselves, wishing everyone the lively, bouncy hair y'all deserve ❤
Yep, I definitely lost a lot of hair after virus 19, I was practically bald. Then, earlier this year, after it grew back, I lost some of that new growth thanks to sinus surgery. But after going through so much, I just appreciate that I'm alive and my hair is almost back to normal.
Lost so much hair because of CV for 3 months straight. Chunks of my hair would come out, it always looked like I was holding a small pet in my hands. It was awful and I was sure I was going to end up bald.
Yes I feel you. I lost more than half of my hair last year a few months after I was hospitalized for a pulmonary embolism and infarction. My doctors said it wasn't the virus but the blood thinner Eliquis I had to take for 6 months that made my hair fall out. Being that sick was terrifying, losing my hair messed with my emotional health. My hair was more important than I thought, I won't take it for granted again.
The aging information is so true! I had the most amazing hair most of my life up until my mid 30's. Long luscious voluminous curly hair. I only had to "scrunch and go" and it looked like I spent hours on it. Now in my mid 40's it's half as thick, flat and limp, ponytail holders slide right out and curls won't hold. I never had to use any tools and now I'm on a mission to reclaim beautiful hair so I just ordered some professional products and my first ever curling iron 😂. Your videos are great! Informative and entertaining!

My hair went from dry and broom bristle like but greasy roots on day 2 to silky hair all week thanks to your channel. I switched to satin scrunchies, wear a satin hair bonnet to bed, use leave in conditioning spray, and plain argon oil in my hair. I also started shampooing correctly. Immediate results!! 😊
@@virginiemazy7054 Satin is enough (compared to not using anything at all), but personally I noticed a pretty significant difference once I switched to silk. Also, instead of a cap, a tighter fitting bonnet is another thing that made a noticeable difference for me, less area for your hair to move around, and the style I go to bed with, is what I wake up with, with a slouchy bonnet.
Thank you for being real about what causes hair loss, im autistic and I deal with alot of stress daily and barely eat any food during the day, also on antidepressants. My hair used to be so thick, full and curly when i was younger and now its alot thinner and flat and dry. I will definitely start working on my habits, stress and diet.
Your advice is really important in this one. Nobody ever talks about nutrition as FOOD, calories, rather than just kale, etc. that little blurb about competitors losing their hair has a lot of potential to help some people verging on disordered eating and exercise. Thanks for this.
Chris I found you 6 months ago just when I started loosing a lot of hair due to many factors like stress, poor food intake, hear breakage etc. And i'm in my 20s so that's super scary, but i've been applying your methods since then and I'm slowly seeing improvement now, thanks for being here, I'm so glad you popped up in my UA-cam feed on time ❤🙏 (You're the one who made me realize the hair breakage thing and after so long experiencing that i felt stupid i never figured it out but so grateful for you 😂❤)
hi i’m also in my 20s and experiencing the same hair loss a few months ago. my hair used to be more dense and thicker but now it’s slowly getting shorter in length and not as thick 😢 may i ask what is the routine you are currently following!? i’m trying to figure out where to start in my hair care journey and i would love some inspo! ❤😊
@@emilygarcia6202 Hi! Sure 😊 I basically use his trinity hair routine (shampoo-conditioner + leave-in spray conditioner + oil for the ends) with some products he recommends in the videos or some equivalent. It really helps with the dryness, especially for my very dry curly hair. I try to not wash it too often, maybe twice a week. All that's mostly to help prevent the breakage that damaged my hair a lot. (Something maybe not so obvious also is that during winter I started tucking my hair in my coat of scarf to protect it from the harsh weather since i moved to a very cold country and that's about when my hair started to get damaged, idk if it's for real but i feel like it makes a difference) I also try to eat better and more proteins (especially eggs), and try to have good sleep, and most importantly worked on reducing my stress levels, it takes time and I'm not always there but it's work in progress! Hope this helps a little!! 🥰
I lost a lot of hair after getting covid, and had no idea why at the time. I also was afraid it was permanent and was really crushed. After five months, it stopped, and I did experience a lot of breakage. It was around that time I discovered your videos. I followed your recommendations and now my hair is back to full strength and healthier than ever. I just hung on as best I could and got a shorter haircut right when my hair was recovering. One benefit I gained is that my hair is now wavy and can hold a curl. Before, it was stick straight and wouldn't even hold a wave and I had absolutely no volume. I'm so much happier with my hair now and I learn so much from your videos. Can't thank you enough for your honesty, humor, and providing a great public service!
Same! I lost what feels like at least 1/3 of my hair after I recovered. It just kept shedding and was a nightmare. After so much trial and error, what has regrown my hair best is Armra colostrum, Folexin, Viviscal Pro supplements. I also use SheaMoisture Mango & Carrot kids shampoo and conditioner as well as the raw shea, chamomile, and Aryan oil baby leave in conditioner. My hair is so fine it gets weighed down super easily, but I tend to get super oily at the roots, and this combination has softened my ends and kept my scalp nice and clean. I also invested in a Mason Pearson brush. It’s been about a year and a few months into my hair recovery journey and I wish everyone luck!
I went through a divorce and an illness plus severe depression when I went through my hair loss after counseling my hair grew back thicker than when I was in my 20s I unfortunately used the wrong hair products and ruined my hair , now I’m on track thanks to watching these videos and my hair is strong an😅d healthy again
If you lack vitamin D,that can also give a lot of hair loss! If you’re in constant pain from sciatica or other back problems….that can also give hair loss.If your body is in constant pain,it can just suddenly deside to almost throw the hair off your head in chunks, that happened to me a few times, but when the pain is getting better your hair will stop falling out too😊
Physical trauma!! I had my third baby 2 years ago and shortly after I severely pulled a back muscle picking up the car seat. I spent a whole year with back to back to back muscle spasms that would knock me on the floor for a week straight. I started seeing a chiropractor and that helped but I was still in occupational pain. I started back at the gym about 3 months ago and my back has gotten stronger. The discomfort I was feeling every day has gone away and I finally feel like my body is healthy again. Now I just need a new brush. I was told to use a wet comb in the shower and that’s what I’ve been doing. 😬
@@seadragon1456 Im glad you’re starting to feel better👍 Instead of using a wet-comb in the shower,I would recommend just using your fingers. That way you will feel it before you snap a hair so you can avoid it by carefully detangle with your fingers, when using a wet-comb you will feel it when the hair breaks(and then it is to late🤷🏻♀️)I always use my fingers to detangle and also to ‘brush’ my hair if needed. When I finger-brush my hair,I always use a little bit of lightweight oil(jojoba, avocado, arganoil, grapeseed)on my hands to distribute some nurturing oils through my hair at the same time. Just thought I’d share some tips with you since I’ve also tried wet-combing and brushing(with not very satisfying results) Take good care of yourself and be safe out there❤️
@@almassryjazaa1945 I hope you’ll feel better very soon and that the surgery was a success!😊 I definitely think you’re right about your hair, just wait and see what happens with your hair when the pain gets better(it will probably stop falling out as much as it does now, that is at least my guess from my own experience with this) I wish you the best with recovering from your surgery and everything else too❤️
As a Ukrainian I can tell - I lost tons of hair for last year - because of the stress of the war in my country, plus breaking up too. Thanks to your channel and wonderful advices I was able to reinvent and improve my routine. My hair is recovering! ❤ Thanks Professor
I have never once commented on a video but I have been losing hair. I've been going through a horribly stressful time and I needed to hear this info. Thanks for putting my mind at ease. ❤
Cant say enough how much I appreciate the kind of content that you put out there. Realistic, honest, and does not aim to just market products. Thank you Chris.
I'm 55.. had huge hair loss for about a year while going through menopause! After 1 year and the hormones settled, it started to grow back. I also stopped coloring.. that helped as well.
@jaderacerfn Well I stopped putting chemicals on it with the hair dye. I highly recommend Olaplex #3 for the breakage too. You don't need the whole system, that's a scam IMO. My routine is 1) wash with a clarifying shampoo 2) Olaplex #3 and let it sit for an hour 3) wash again with a strengthening shampoo 4) use a great hair mask and let it sit another hour 5) rinse and use a leave in conditioner to finish. I do this about one a month. My breakage has completely stopped! Let me know if you try it!
You're right on target! Severe stress and anemia caused my hair loss. Good news is by taking better care of myself, managing my stress and iron supplements, it is coming back. But it takes time. And therefore patience. Keep up the great videos Chris
Hi, I'm currently taking iron supplements for anaemia which has caused hair loss. How long after taking your medication did it take for your hair to grow back.? Any advice is appreciated 😊
@rac2135 It stopped falling out fairly soon after I was taking the itinerary supplement, but regrowth takes time, at least a month or so to get baby hairs, then another few months for those to grow out. So probably at least 3 to 6 months . I also take a collagen supplement and biotin and q good multi vitamin. And 2 or 3 Brazil nuts a day when I remember! They are rich in selenium.
@@rac2135it depends it can take up to two years!! The hemoglobin will balance right away (within two months) but it takes months/years to get the iron stores back to optimal growth. I thought I was losing mine and my iron was soooo low and it’s slowly growing back in and it’s been 7 months. My iron stores were at 12 and are still only at 41 and optimal is 70
I’m so glad you made this video addressing hair shedding, the reasons behind it, whether it’ll be fine and grow back or not, and what to do about it. The video we all needed!
I have been severely ill due to chronic illness for years now. I have lost so much of my hair due to the fact that my body is constantly undergoing “medical trauma/state of emergency”. Stress and malabsorption is a huge factor too 😢 these were all amazing tips that I incorporate daily. Love your videos . Other healthy women will definitely be able to benefit! Always go to the derm 💗💗💗
I can back up the physical trauma reason. In 2015 I had brain surgery that got complicated and I had a 10-day nap. When I woke, I couldn’t walk or talk. 2 further surgeries and a boatload of hard therapies and I was back to normalish. My huge surgery bald spot was growing back wonderfully when 2 mos after the last surgery, all the other hair started falling out. It was exactly as you described. My body said yeah we don’t need that to survive so bye! It just takes a while to shrivel up and fall out. I had it cut shorter to reduce the weight, babied it and it grew back really well. It handled all that better than it handled my ex-hairdresser bleaching it to death right in 2020.
I swim as a sport, so I have to wash my hair almost every day. I rest on the weekends and I try not to wash it those days, but since it's very frizzy, I have to wash it if I have to look presentable, if not, I look like a complete mess. Please give us some tips! This also applies to nurses and doctors, they have to wash their hair every day. Thank you!! You're the best!!
Chris, you're spot on with these causes of hair loss!! I am going on 56 & seeing a dermatologist d/t my hair loss!! Some of my hair is gradually coming back but I know I will not have the hair that I had in my 20's!! Plus, I would perm & color my hair!! Yeah, I am too afraid to even color it now!! Thank you for all the great tips & your funny takes on stuff!! 🤣🤣
I have a hair pulling disorder and I love your videos. I try to take care of my hair but I also rip at it when I’m anxious. I’m trying to break the habit and it’s very hard, I’ve been doing it for 19 years
This channel is a blessing Unfortunately the past months has been filled with anxiety, which also causes me to not eat anymore....two problems for hair shedding apparently! I noticed how incredibly thin and fragile my hair got, I really hope I can get everything under control soon again
My dermatologist suggests using Rosemary oil about 10 drops in large glass bottle of distilled water. Spray your scalp thoroughly and let it sit all day and/or let it dry and sleep with it on your scalp. I lost a lot of hair from covit 12/2021 and again with my most recent sons heart attack at 29 has stressed me to the max. I now have a lot of baby hairs coming in. What I did learn from your show is using the tips of your fingers to wash the scalp. I was using my nails thinking it would make my scalp cleaner... I will only massage the soap and be gentle with my scalp.
Having gone through laser surgery for kidney stones and having a stent inside for three weeks, I’ve been shedding full hair a breakage that never ever happened to me. I’ve just had my second round of laser surgery within a month and the stent is out. As well as all of the kidney stones removed. The stress, anxiety and being petrified so much of my hair falling out showering amplified all of the above feelings. Praying that my body will now start healing and my hair will start growing back (I’m a male with hair just touching the top of my shoulders). I will be calling my doctor to get an urgent referral to see a dermatologist. Thank you so, so much, Chris, for all that you do. Your video really made a difference and made me laugh, and as a man, nearly cry seeing the segment that applied to me, as it reassured me. It meant a lot, and I’m sure not just to me. Thank you.
The fact that I found this channel when I want even looking for it speaks for itself. Glad I found it. I just booked an appointment thru Zocdoc for tomorrow to see a dermatologist (hair) . Scalp has been itching me and I have breakage so… thanks again!!!❤
The timing on this video is perfect! I have struggled with breakage for years, but it's been much better since I started the trinity method. I've been following it for a couple of months and I cannot believe the length & condition of my hair. It's so pretty. I've never had pretty hair! Thank you so much for these videos and for the free education. I now refer to you as my stylist in Florida. 😂
I bleached my hair up until my early 50s when I decided to see what the silver looked like, my hair has definitely thickened up, I’m also making sure I use leave in conditioner which has helped as well.
My hair loss is due to stress. Major stress...major hair loss. I get bald spots. Usually my hair grows back fine, but a couple of years ago, I went through major stress and lost a lot of hair. Bald spot on the top of the back of my head, little bit in the front. My concern is that it has grown back completely different hair type. I have frizzy nappy hair growing in. I have always had curly hair, but it was nice to the touch. Now in that one spot, you can visibly see and feel the difference. Funny part is the front of head, my hair grew in straight. So I have 3 different hair types on my one head. First time this has happened. I am over 60 and do have thick hair. Even my hair stylist has no idea what to do with my hair.
Really can’t thank you guys enough. I have fine hair which was thinning. After following your advice (from multiple videos) my hair is soft, strong, fuller , growing! And I get compliments on my hair every day! Thank you 🇬🇧 xx trying to stop myself touching my hair lol x
@@CrankyBarista of course For me (40s nearing menopause) I’ve learnt from Blowout Professor - Wash you hair properly Small amount of shampoo massage into scalp Wash out Second wash even less shampoo it will foam up and massage into scalp - only apply shampoo to scalp not mids / ends - apply conditioner to mids (if needed) but especially ends (not to scalp) - use microfibre towel when get out shower - use leave in conditioner brush through - use heat proof spray or gel brush through - blow dry hair (both sides) make sure get roots - stop when dry (don’t keep going and burn hair) - apply hair oil (good quality, small amount ) to ends - leave at least 3 days between washes and heat (hard at first but once you persevere it becomes easier
@@MISSYMINX261 hey! I use olaplex No7 oil. As recommended, but only a drop or 2, no more. Smooth on to ends only at first. When hair gets fuller can use a tiny bit on mids if needed. Seems expensive but it lasts for months as only need literally 1 / 2 drops x
I get so excited every time I get notification about a new video! 😊❤ Thank you so much for your videos and sharing your knowledge ❤ You are saving one scalp at the time 😂❤❤❤
I have Lupus so hair loss is very real. My hair is doing pretty good right now. Stress was giving me more hair loss. My hair is salt and pepper in color and almost to my waist now. Great video!
You arrived on my thread, bt I'm not sure why, n believe me, it has nothing to do with a/ the algorithm. 🤫🤓 Short of it is I decided to watch this all the way through to the end n this is the takeaway I got from your channel 🤔. 1. Your channel is very informative n fun! 2. Love the plain speak down to earth narrative void of all the scientific jargon! 3. You know your product, bt most of all, you relate to your audience. What's not to Love ❤. (I've subscribed, sorry I was late getting here) Thank you for the awesome work you do! Most of all, thank you for sharing n caring! ❤ from NZ.
I was diagnosed with lichen Plano pilaris during lockdown. Probably from stress. No cure. I’m thankful I started with a thick head of hair. I’ve lost about 1/3. Besides special shampoo I started using a laser cap every night. After two years I am in remission, inflammation and itching is minimal and I’ve even seen a bit of new hair growth which wasn’t supposed to be possible. Thank you for this video. I was afraid to massage my scalp thinking I’d cause more hair fall out, but now I’ll try that. I see a dermatologist who specializes in hair loss.
Thanks for the tips, I have thyroid problem and I just learned that it’s the cause of my hair loss. I appreciate your effort to provide the best solutions for us, I like your channel and will keep my eyes on every video you post!
Last summer, I started Keto, had the biggest heartbreak ever when I suddenly lost my precious brother way too early in life days later, then got COVID two weeks later. About 3 months after all this, I started losing tons of hair. I tried not to stress though. C’est la vie, right? 🤷🏻♀️ This lasted about one month. I lost maybe 1/3rd of my hair (and it wasn’t thick to begin with!). I also noticed it was dryer & more frizzy than normal. I did start taking a hair supplement (with good ingredients-nothing synthetic), and I’m not sure if that’s what was responsible for stopping the loss or if it would have stopped on its own anyway. But anyway, now I have tons of 2-4 length long hair all over my head. These short hairs have a lot more body, so sometimes my hair looks a little funky. 🤪 My hair only grows about 1/2 inch a month, so it’ll take a long while for it to grow out again. I’m keeping it just below shoulder length. I curl my hair with fairly small curls (1”), and this makes it look nice and full even though it’s thin. I usually just sleep in 2-3, 1” sponge rollers at night, which makes it so easy and low-maintenance. I hope all of you losing hair get it back soon! 💖
Hey Chris:) Love your videos, I’ve learned so much already! could you make a video about styling curly hair, for those of us who want to wear it naturally curly? I remember in one of your videos you said styling naturally curly hair has to be approached in a completely different way than the classic salon blowout hair, so I’m really interested in learning more about that:) I think featuring Leslie would be awesome since she also has beautiful naturally curly hair! Thanks, and keep up the good work! 😃
Thank you for this advice i have bald patches above my forehead its so embarrassing i had been scared to go to the GP but decided to bite the bullet and have been referred to a dermatologist i havent felt that good hair feeling for a few years now but hoping i will get the problem solved when i get my appointment thanks for giving me the encouragement :)
Thanks for your videos! Ever since I got 'that virus' in december my hair and skin has been drying out and my nails and hair have been getting weak and breaky and turns out the cause is hypothyroidism. I have found your videos really helpful to get an idea of what I can do to help my hair. It's gunna be a journey, but hopefully I'll get there.
I have been washing my hair like this for a couple years now, gentle massage with my fingertips, all over, but as of the last 2 months I'd say, I'm losing an abnormal for me amount of hair in the shower D: When ever I (gently) squeeze my hair and run my hand from top to bottom of my hair while washing out shampoo and conditioner, SO many hairs are just coming out every time, and it's definitely not normal for me. And when I brush my hair too. I am SUUUPER stressed too, like badly, so I'm sure that doesn't help, but unfortunately, I am not at the point that I can really change that too much ): So I hope that doesn't cause permanent hair loss......
I feel you! Same thing happens to me, too. Started a couple of months ago, especially under the shower when washing my hair. I will get an dermatologist appointment. But maybe it’s age and hormones, who knows 🙈
I have thyroid issues and have noticed my hair thinning. My hair used to be so thick the underside would mat often unless I bent over and flipped my hair and brushed it from the underside first. Now it's so thin I see more and more scalp. Brought it up with my specialist a couple times now but he just ignored what I said and went on about something else. It is frustrating.
I find that the time I lose the most hair is on a wash day. I typically find that while I'm washing, the hair is coming out, and when I brush it when I'm out of the shower and I wanted to know if this is normal.
I've been struggling with my doctors to get my thyroid regulated for two or three years now, and it has affected my hair, so it's really comforting to know that once we figure it out the hair should come back.
I have Hashimotos and my hair is getting thinner. Thank God I had a lot of hair and follow your routine religiously so is not that bad. Nobody noticed but me. Thank you Chris
My hair is moderately thick so I'm used to shedding here and there - however a week or two into my new job I was losing TONNES. Part stress, part being required to wear my hair up all day - I knew it wasn't healthy. At the moment, I'm compromising by doing a low pony with a cloth headband than using tight hairbands. Definitely going to try to give myself some scalp massages and trust my gut.
Using Olaplex 3, 4, and 5 caused MASSIVE shedding over a period of months. WIthin 2 weeks of stopping using it, the shedding reduced by about 70% My iron and vitamin D levels are fine (if either of these are low, your hair will shed/break more)
I too had hair loss because of it, which is traumatic for me as my hair was just getting healthy again from doing chemo treatments for lung cancer. I was able to not loose all my hair…I only washed 1 per month, I would spray roots with refreshing washes in between. I think the no washing or brushing helped with pulling hair. When my levels returned normal I had a good cut then went into the repair mode with oleplex….well it felt good until my hair started falling out for the year until I stopped. Thank goodness I figured it out! Shame on them!
Thank you so much for your advice. I had my hair chemically straightened and had hair loss. I watched your clip on you tube bought all the products and slowly my hair is coming back to life. Do thank you
After having quarter sized spots of hair loss after my wedding, and doc saying it might be dandruff, my friend told me that the good happy changes in life are still stressful and most likely caused the hair loss. I think she nailed it. It grew all grew back.
I never made any connection between my hair thinning and my two episodes of virus 19. First one was Dec. '22 and again in Oct. '23 This makes me feel so less stressed and anxious about what is happening. Starting today my new hair care regime begins. Thank you soooo much❤
Omg Chris you are amazing! You took what I said and made a video about hair loss. Thank you so much! Unfortunately I've done everything you said in this video and it's still coming out bad. From the follicle, I'm getting long hairs coming out. Anyways, thanks for helping as much as you can, you rock!
Hi professor and everybody how will read this. UA-cam shows me this video after being desesperate for a sever hair loss, plus my hair was not growing up at all. The advices works, the products works, redken treatment super works from the first moment, everything, helps me at the point that regardless the good hair I had at my 20s that never will comeback, so much people is surprise of the change of my hair. Is we said here in Spain, they told me: Que pedazo!!!! Thank a lot, thank you so so much, I will be greatful to you always, and for it requires only a little care and time and chose few products no so expensive. Unbelievable, you are a great professional and actor.
I don't know how this is possible, but my mom's hair grew substantially during perimenopause and to this day, has longer, thicker hair than I've ever had, and she has less gray than me to boot. I'm 43 and I color mine now because of the amount of gray (at least 75% of my hair has turned white). She is in her late 60s and her hair is past her rear end (she wears it up for practical reasons), and she does not do any of the right things. She uses cheap shampoo plus conditioner, no masks, no oil, no leave-in conditioner, and I'm always left here thinking why the heck couldn't I have gotten her hair? I've been working on improving my hair, and I see progress, but it's slow. Is it also possible that my hair just has a faster turnover rate, so it doesn't grow past my bra strap? It's obvious my hair grows at a normal rate due to the need for root coverage, but man, I don't get how her hair can be as nice as it is with basically no effort. I grew up doing the same sort of hair treatment as her, and my hair did not benefit, I definitely need to follow recommendations to stave off the dryness and damage. I think more than just a bit more length in total, I would most like for my hair not to be so thin at the bottom. So, my hair goes slightly past my bra strap, but it's a lot thinner there, and most of my hair stops a few inches before that.
My daughter, who had a super thick head of curly hair, gradually lost a lot of hair in her teens. When she got her hair cut by our regular hair dresser she brought it to my attention. It had been around six months since she had seen her. Our family Dr tested her for low thyroid as well as autoimmune antibodies. After seeing a rheumatologist for more tests she ended up having lupus. (Sadly like her mom. What are the odds?) She is now actually off meds and in a remission state. Her hair is healthy but no longer requires those extra large ponytail ties. The majority of hair loss is not something like lupus, but you still need to talk to your Dr about it.
I’m 49 and noticed I was losing full hairs. I got on the “oiling the scalp” band wagon. Went to see a derm and yeast loves oil and it will irritate the hair follicles. My hair follicles were angry; that is what she said. No more scalp oiling for me and I see my hair starting to grow back. According to my labs I’m not in menopause, either.
i thought oiling was beneficial because it helps to remove oil from the scalp- like piling up to 2 hours before washing. did you mean oiling throughout the week?
@@sophiereynoldson4991 Yes I used Head and Shoulders shampoo, concentrating on my scalp, and left it on for a few minutes and then rinsed and conditioned. There’s also clobatesol topical steroid (by prescription) to help with any itching as it heals. My scalp got really itchy. Royal Oil by head and shoulders works well, too. The oil I used that started all of this was organic jojoba oil. I started to see regrowth and less hair shedding within a couple of weeks. I still use Head and Shoulders shampoo because I do not want to go through that again. My scalp was hot and itchy. I wash three times a week and my pillow cases every week.
I like that you are honest and tell people to see a dermatologist! I had hair loss and my dermatologist found out that my iron was really low, I needed few months of treatment and we found out the amount of iron I need to prevent my hair loss, which is higher than the normal for ppl in my country (usually) also need to had some vitamin D! But that was easy, the iron was a journey x-x
When it comes to shedding, make sure you also speak to your health care professional. I started losing large amounts of hair when I showered or brushed. I told my doctor and it turned out I had an autoimmune disorder. Make sure your hair shedding is not health related
Thank you. Yours is the only video that has even mentioned female pattern baldness. Theres not enough awareness about it and the distress that it can cause. Too much shame or preconceived notions, like "that's male only". So thank you. Now I just need to work through enough of my anxieties to actually restart the process of trying to get the doctors to listen and believe me 😅, fun times lol.

Same here I'm going through massive hairfall .. should I cut my hair ? because it's not easy to take care of long hair
@@Wanderer-b3e Definitely trim if you don't want a major cut. A lot of hair loss can be due to damaged ends that tangle and tear.
Try rosemary
Hair fall control tips that work for me:
• Stick to a mild hair shampoo for your hair like liitleextraaa cocoonian shampoo.
I’m a big fan in my 70s and I have the best hair of my life. I watched all of your videos multiple times
Do you have any opinion on matrix hair products?
@emilywullstein6334 unfortunately no. I've never used it. Sorry.
Botox caused my hair loss. It’s been 6 months post Botox and finally the shedding has stopped.
You might try one of the many curl gels out there to help with curl hold. There are many that are lightweight, just avoid the creams.

Thank you
My hair went from dry and broom bristle like but greasy roots on day 2 to silky hair all week thanks to your channel. I switched to satin scrunchies, wear a satin hair bonnet to bed, use leave in conditioning spray, and plain argon oil in my hair. I also started shampooing correctly. Immediate results!! 😊
Hello. Do you think a satin bonnet is enough ? I mean that you don’t need silk ?
Silk is horrible .
@@virginiemazy7054
Satin is enough (compared to not using anything at all), but personally I noticed a pretty significant difference once I switched to silk.

And i'm in my 20s so that's super scary, but i've been applying your methods since then and I'm slowly seeing improvement now, thanks for being here, I'm so glad you popped up in my UA-cam feed on time ❤🙏
(You're the one who made me realize the hair breakage thing and after so long experiencing that i felt stupid i never figured it out but so grateful for you 😂❤)
hi i’m also in my 20s and experiencing the same hair loss a few months ago. my hair used to be more dense and thicker but now it’s slowly getting shorter in length and not as thick 😢 may i ask what is the routine you are currently following!? i’m trying to figure out where to start in my hair care journey and i would love some inspo!
(Something maybe not so obvious also is that during winter I started tucking my hair in my coat of scarf to protect it from the harsh weather since i moved to a very cold country and that's about when my hair started to get damaged, idk if it's for real but i feel like it makes a difference)
I also try to eat better and more proteins (especially eggs), and try to have good sleep, and most importantly worked on reducing my stress levels, it takes time and I'm not always there but it's work in progress!

I also had hair loss after covid. It took about 6 months for mine to start growing back and it back curly/wavy too. Used to be stixk straight
Been dealing with this too since 3 months now...hasn't stopped yet but hanging in there & hoping it does soon.
Sorry about that😢
What were the wrong products and the right products?
@@seadragon1456 Im glad you’re starting to feel better👍
Instead of using a wet-comb in the shower,I would recommend just using your fingers.
Just thought I’d share some tips with you since I’ve also tried wet-combing and brushing(with not very satisfying results)
Take good care of yourself and be safe out there❤️
Also, most people are vitamin D deficient
I had a back surgery 3 months ago and it was major . Pain is very high , I think that's why my hair is falling alot
@@almassryjazaa1945 I hope you’ll feel better very soon and that the surgery was a success!😊

I'm 55.. had huge hair loss for about a year while going through menopause! After 1 year and the hormones settled, it started to grow back. I also stopped coloring.. that helped as well.
Hello, im 51 now, and my hair is so thin. What can I do ? I think I lost the have of my hair it's so breakable to
@jaderacerfn Well I stopped putting chemicals on it with the hair dye.
Be careful with olaplex. Do some googlinf. There have been massive issues.

I was not prepared for this story
You went through so much.. What a strong person you are. Happy you are doing well now.
I swim as a sport, so I have to wash my hair almost every day.

For me (40s nearing menopause)
I’ve learnt from Blowout Professor
- Wash you hair properly
Small amount of shampoo massage into scalp
Wash out
Second wash even less shampoo it will foam up and massage into scalp
- only apply shampoo to scalp not mids / ends
- apply conditioner to mids (if needed) but especially ends (not to scalp)
- use microfibre towel when get out shower
- use leave in conditioner brush through
- use heat proof spray or gel brush through
- blow dry hair (both sides) make sure get roots - stop when dry (don’t keep going and burn hair)
- apply hair oil (good quality, small amount ) to ends
- leave at least 3 days between washes and heat (hard at first but once you persevere it becomes easier
I have fine hair too. Which hair oil do you use that doesn’t weigh it down
@@MISSYMINX261 hey! I use olaplex No7 oil. As recommended, but only a drop or 2, no more. Smooth on to ends only at first. When hair gets fuller can use a tiny bit on mids if needed. Seems expensive but it lasts for months as only need literally 1 / 2 drops x

Oh man this is super on point esp the food portion
My hair only grows about 1/2 inch a month, so it’ll take a long while for it to grow out again.

I have been washing my hair like this for a couple years now, gentle massage with my fingertips, all over, but as of the last 2 months I'd say, I'm losing an abnormal for me amount of hair in the shower D:
When ever I (gently) squeeze my hair and run my hand from top to bottom of my hair while washing out shampoo and conditioner, SO many hairs are just coming out every time, and it's definitely not normal for me.
I just had my third baby and I’m losing a ton of hair. So I’m tuned in!

What about red light therapy? Like those hats or wands, you use on your scalp to help the hair grow. What do you think of those for hair loss?
I've wondered this too
I think he would have mentioned them if he advocated them. Snake oil lol.
I have Hashimotos and my hair is getting thinner. Thank God I had a lot of hair and follow your routine religiously so is not that bad. Nobody noticed but me. Thank you Chris
Can you please do a natural curly hair routine and maintenance. Thank you
Yes, I wish he would do some curly hair advice videos
Watching your videos has literally changed my life. I love the way you explain everything so clearly. Your analogies are so funny, perfect! 🤩
I could not agree more. I wish I had had this information years ago, but still benefiting now. Thank you Chris.
Do you have any advice on shampoo bars? I have used them for years but I'd love professional advice! Love the videos! ❤
Thanks Chris! Got my trinity order from your salon this week and I’m starting to properly take care of my hair now. 🎉
Thank you very much, great video!👍🏻 Lots of good info. Just wondering- what about your hair?
My hair is moderately thick so I'm used to shedding here and there - however a week or two into my new job I was losing TONNES.
Part stress, part being required to wear my hair up all day - I knew it wasn't healthy. At the moment, I'm compromising by doing a low pony with a cloth headband than using tight hairbands.
Definitely going to try to give myself some scalp massages and trust my gut.
Bollocks
Using Olaplex 3, 4, and 5 caused MASSIVE shedding over a period of months. WIthin 2 weeks of stopping using it, the shedding reduced by about 70% My iron and vitamin D levels are fine (if either of these are low, your hair will shed/break more)
Yes! It’s a horrible product. We have a fb group with over 10,200 victims in it
@@aphumangeographytutoring6955 I know, I am in it
I too had hair loss because of it, which is traumatic for me as my hair was just getting healthy again from doing chemo treatments for lung cancer.
Hey thats sad! Wish her good health! Maybe consult a dermatologist, they will suggest better acc to her condition
Dandruff?!!! Oh geez.
I never made any connection between my hair thinning and my two episodes of virus 19. First one was Dec. '22 and again in Oct. '23
This makes me feel so less stressed and anxious about what is happening. Starting today my new hair care regime begins. Thank you soooo much❤
Awesome video Chris. Your content is so informative and thorough. I've learned so much from your channel. Thank you so much!
It is difficult to create educational videos that are so fun and useful at the same time. You just cant stop watching them
Omg Chris you are amazing! You took what I said and made a video about hair loss. Thank you so much! Unfortunately I've done everything you said in this video and it's still coming out bad. From the follicle, I'm getting long hairs coming out. Anyways, thanks for helping as much as you can, you rock!
minoxidil?
Wow, thanks! Never thought about different type of hair loss.
That look on the lifeguard of relief after she processed and gave the ok signal .. says everything😊
@@imawakemymindisalive13 no. Once a week before washing. I went back to conditioning my scalp when I wash my hair like I used to and all is better
This is happening to me
How long did it take for the shedding to get back to normal? And did you use anything to help it?
@@imawakemymindisalive13 No. Just one time and that’s what happened to me. If I want a really clean scalp I’ll just use a clarifying shampoo
Which autoimmune disorder? 😮
@@samwtnwusually it's hormonal autoimmune diseases. Like hypothyroidism for example
When should we apply the serum after hair wash - when it's wet wet like fresh out of the shower or 80% dry?
Please make a video on hair colour and the least damaging brands to use
I lost half of my hair after giving birth. Twice. But 🙏 it grew back, also twice
Of all your videos I have watched this is my favourite. I discovered your channel 2 Christmas’s ago as my fair was falling out in hand fulls. I took on the trinity routine and though it still falls out the hair that’s remained is healthy , breaks lass and I can’t ever thank you enough for that. Your the best ❤
