I don’t care about your fantasies about what you think hip-hop is about. White supremacists do not listen to hip-hop. The idea that the first Hooded Justice was Black, while an interesting story was ripped from the Marvel comic books take on Captain America. In the limited series the truth the original captain America was Black. That was the idea that actually made it into the falcon and the Winter soldier. Traditionally mass have not been looked upon as a good thing. Bank robbers cover their faces and so did the Ku Klux Klan. There are quite a few people here in the United States that refuse to wear masks even though COVID 19 has killed half a million people. You might surprise you to know that many working class people do not think of themselves as being marginalized at all. Rather than talk about hip-hop you should’ve talked about David Bowie ,Madonna or any of a number of people who made careers of of changing personas. Hip Hop is not a universal example of African American culture any more than Merseybeat is an example of universal British culture. It’s like expecting every Asian person to be a Kung Fu artist.

I had a conversation w/my counselor about how I felt I had to “wear a mask” when going out in public anywhere to act as if everything was fine. Funny that!
