@@davidanalyst671 It is what it is. SNL has had better talent sure, but what Lorne saw in Pete Davidson seems to be more personal. He really took on a mentoring role throughout the years. That’s my interpretation at least.
I think a lot of the cut for time skits seem better because they don't have the braindead audiences incessantly cheering over every little thing. If they didn't do it so much and caused delays this would have made the cut. But you know if it did, once Eminem showed up the cheering would have made the dialogue inaudible.
Yuuup! TBH this comment section surprises me. The Steve Miller Band one has exploded. But it’s a lot of 2 year old comments on this one and not enough 2024 ones! Lol
I love how supportive people are on this comment section. Pete's a brilliant comedian and a good guy in general. The controversy over Kanye brought tons of hate towards him and i feel that it's not justified. I genuinely hope that his career continues to blossom. Tons of love to you, Pete 🖤
Pete said that he has a core group of people and they are enough for him so he doesn't care about the bs social media or fame. He has a lot of good mentors and friends - Lorne Michaels, Jon Stewart, Bill Burr, John Mulvaney, Adam Sandler, Michael Che, Colin Jost, Dave Sirius, etc ... his family, and now Kim K. He never talk badly about his exes either. He is just a good person trying to live his life ... perfectly imperfect.
The cult of Kanye is insane. The dude made a McDonald's box, and everyone in his comments section on Instagram is praising him. It's pretty scary actually.
This was gold on so many levels. Eminem played his part perfectly, and you know he'd never have been there if he hated it 😊. Oh man I'm going to miss these even if Eminem isn't.
Em has been playing that role of an unhappy grumpy curmudgeon as his public persona for 25 years. In reality, he's actually a really happy person, who laughs and smiles almost constantly.
Damn, I almost teared up. Does anyone really ever stop and just think about the comedy LEGENDS that LM has found and helped create since the beginning of SNL?
Love all of this! The on-brand Eminem cameo, the "Baby Aidy" reference, the breaking form, 'trend' that Lorne, wildly popularized, apparently. Let 'em know bout ya boy Lorne, Pete, haha. But I'm most tickled by Natasha's unbothered "honestly, that's your business man" (cue shades) response. It's the little things! Genius writing/performance.
I'm old enough to be Pete's mom too. We have seen him through his awkward, his sad, his scary, and his celebrations. I hope he is strong enough to battle his demons and that family doesn't eat him, nor the world.
@@sbrose3776 right on ❤️ Pete's just the guy that we all appreciate. He worked so hard before SNL doing the comedy clubs. And he's now his own name, but my maternal side has red flags. I hope he and Kim last and that the family doesn't bot him. I don't even picture Pete being on the show. He's not that guy. He's a good actor, decent rapper, and has long years ahead of him.
Gotta say, I'm surprised by how much Eminem's accent has flattened out over the years. He went from "heavily Midwestern/Western US" to "standard American".

@@stephaniehenry9264 Yeah, only did one verse, should of had one more after the Mooney & Aidey w/ an Eminem reference before he shows. 🥲 Man, I knew this would be Kyle's and Aidy's last season but Kate's and Pete's farwells took me completely by surprise... 👏🏼Well done guys and wishing best of luck to all!
I will be 60 yes old in couple weeks. Growing up with this new show called Saturday Night Live was insane. Every season I tuned in regardless. I send videos to my daughter, then when she's with me I pull up skit's she hasn't seen and I get the joy watching her face and hearing her laugh, priceless. One of my favorite skit ever goes back when Lorene tried to get the Beatles back together and they would be payed and he had check ready. It was for a believe a couple thousand dollars, fast forward when George Harrison comes in show ( played insane couple songs with Paul Simon) acustic. And George wants the money Lorene offered for all the Beatles to perform. Lorene with his dry sense of humor explaining to George Harrison it was all or nothing, was brilliant. Lorene you have made my Saturdays amazing and when show is taking break I go to UA-cam and get my fix. Every year, every new season I'm tuned in.. Pete thank you for all the laughs and thank you for bringing him in your music video. Keep doing what you do, both of you. We always always need to laugh.
@Lisa Ebrom that was really sweet❤. I have been watching since I was 3. When u have a single, young, and careless parent, u spend alot of time alone. But I would tuck my feet into the couch, no blankets. And fall asleep watching SNL. I didn't get it, how could I? But the audience was laughing, so I tried to see what adult life thing they were laughing at. For some reason, I don't remember musicians, until I really got INTO music. I remember the controversial and the epic. MY SNL started in 1990. that's when I was really excited to see the skits and the regular characters. And the actors and musicians that I knew, blowing my mind with their crossovers. There will always be at least 2 new players every season that make us even more excited to tune in.
just turned 60. in fall of 1975 I had a regular Saturday babysitting job. always watched the show. still get that, exhausted when are they coming home, feeling as the final music plays. even all these years later.
Lisa, it’s nice to meet a fellow SNL addict, who tunes in every season, and never says that stupid line I’ve heard too many times: “Oh I stopped watching after the first season” - well those people missed SO many funny skits and SO much joy & laughter. I too send videos to my daughter. Peace my friend! ☮️
These are what I will miss the most. Pete's many parody songs (& some cool pandemic originals, too) seem way too underrated and I hope he comes back every now and then to do another. Also, Pete's funny/clever and cool songs are the best way for him to say, "wait, who's Kanye?"
Great job, Pete. You were a diamond in the rough, and clearly Lorne knew what he saw when he took the risk. Going to miss these greats, but for sure they are going to do wonderful and entertaining things in the future, so I look forward to seeing it.
The "YOU BLEW IT!" is THE most legendary line I can think of from a classic comedy movie. Also the first time I remembered seeing Norm Macdonald in anything when I waa younger. Thanks Pete
@@ChintzMusic I read that guys comment and way like... Why oh why are there still so many corrections for things that don't even need correcting called out in UA-cam comments? @Erik Zuniga YOU BLEW IT!
I disagree. Although it is a very good line , I think the part of the story I don't like is that little boy gave up looking for Happy after an hour. He didn't put up any signs or nothing, he just sat there like a goon and waited. That little boy has to think " I got a pet, I got a responsibility. " If you dog is lost, you don't look for an hour and call it quits, YOU GET YOUR ASS OUT THERE AND YOU FIND THAT FUCKIN DOG!!!!!
That's absolutely perfect. When I first saw Pete, I wasn't sure about him either, but Lorne had the right instinct (again), and Pete has come through in stride! And I admire Pete for paying respect to his mentor and his friend Eminem with such an awesome tribute as he leaves the show. He proved himself not only to be a great comedian, but also a class act. Much respect Pete, you'll be missed on SNL.
Class act? Dude objectively didnt give af about any sketch and didnt try to act in a single live skit. Pete did well bc he became famous for his dating life, SNL will be better without this guy
@@juanw8836 I firmly disagree. Pete's off-the-cuff performances had a great impact on the show, and his eminem-parodies and chad-performances alone are already legendary. As for him being a class act, he always acknowledged not being a workhorse, but he would take any jokes about his persona that would benefit the show, he was authentic throughout his time on SNL and gave credit where credit was due. His lovelife happened to be picked up by the media, but that was nothing he had calculated or aggressively exploited. In short, despite him being a drug-fueled, semi-reliable Jersey-party-animal, I consider him to be an honest and respectful person.
Love how Pete is best friends with mgk who Eminem had a beef and still Eminem is showing up in a skit where Pete is making an Eminem parody. Eminem has always been the fcking coolest
That was EPIC!!! Pete, you will be missed! And what a great tribute to someone who's been behind the scenes bringing great comedy to life for all of us. Thank you! 🙏❤
BIG emptiness. On Saturday nights, I know who I look for on this show. And two of them r leaving. The other two complete the set. Not to say that the other cast members and the rising stars won't be as good, maybe even shine better. But it's too much politics and unfunny. I'm old enough to get the more mature, fainting couch skits, because of Carol Burnett. I also love the newer musicians and the crossovers. AIDY and Cecily r like Tina and Amy were. They KNOW each other. Kate can work with anyone. Pete was my younger self. I GOT when he was Em. Like that was the CD bumpin' on 🔁. There have been some classics in this group. Heidi is actually more talented than I thought at first, far more range. And Ego, she can be 29 and 89 and she rocks it.
@@concrete490 That was the thing about him. He worked well on skits that catered to him, even though it should be the other way around. I liked him ever since he first appeared but I’d call it a stretch to say he was one of the best cast members.
Lorne launched him so it's only fair. Eminem is hilarious. Lorne owns all the characters any comedian hired to the show brings so he has really written his own ticket.
Does it? It was fitting, and kind of the obvious way to go. Pete's look and voice are perfect for Eminem, and Eminem's music videos are always so over the top, they just fit right in with SNL. So glad they did this, my favorite Pete sketches were always his Eminem songs. I was worried that there might not be any more. This was just perfect, the only thing that could improve it would be if Eminem actually jumped in to school Pete on sending everyone off right, and paying respect to Lorne. Lorne and Pete are so similar to Dre and Em, having both involved would've been too good to be true
Without Ginsburg, Merkel, Hillary, and a few others, Hillary didn't have a lot to work with. Jill Biden keeps such a low profile, and Maya Rudolph does a great Kamala. I was so sad when Ginsburg died, because I was not longer going to see her IRL or on SNL.
We would of had this in the show if commercials didn't take up so much time for all the shows. Networks have gotten greedy in money. This is why everyone moved to streaming
And now Pete is in his Houdini film clip, so he clearly loves Pete.

Yes, Pete Davidson has a very special place for Lorne Michaels......his b-hole. Pete Davidsons comedy stinks as bad as his #hit does on L.M. weenie.
couldn't lorne find anyone funnier than pete tho?
@@davidanalyst671 It is what it is. SNL has had better talent sure, but what Lorne saw in Pete Davidson seems to be more personal. He really took on a mentoring role throughout the years. That’s my interpretation at least.
They wento to Jamica together so yeah (not implying anything weird, just saying as it is).
Can't believe they cut this. I was totally expecting a Pete rap vid to close the show, and this should have been it. Damn near perfect.
This was miles above the skits they did on the show. I turned it off after Weekend Update.
Perhaps due to his lack of seniority they/Lorne wanted more of the other three. This was 100x better than most of the other sketches.
They will air a clip on Jimmy Fallon then call life even..
Agree. Other than Aidy and Kate farewell skits, I don't remember any skit being better than this last night.
I think a lot of the cut for time skits seem better because they don't have the braindead audiences incessantly cheering over every little thing. If they didn't do it so much and caused delays this would have made the cut. But you know if it did, once Eminem showed up the cheering would have made the dialogue inaudible.
Who's here after HOUDINI??

"Brilliant" is a strong word. Hartman was brilliant, Macdonald was brilliant, Carvey is brilliant, Pete is good.
The cult of Kanye is insane. The dude made a McDonald's box, and everyone in his comments section on Instagram is praising him. It's pretty scary actually.
Nowhere near brilliant. Decent is more fitting

Only thing that would have made this better is Eminem joining Pete to rap. Brilliant though. Pete can spit. Hope he comes back.
Naw it woulda been worse if Eminem rapped after his rant.
When the thumbnail sd featuring Eminem I was actually waiting 4 that 2. I figured he'd step in on the chorus tho

Lorne, Pete and Eminem. A trifecta!
Eminem is hilarious dude. When we get to see him in random things it’s always good
These are what I will miss the most.

Every once in awhile, like this time, SNL really hits the mark.
