Just wanted to thank you for making your video. We have a somewhat dated Sears opener that was suffering from that same short buzz sound, I was sure a pricey house call was in our future. Your instructions were spot on and I had my opener fixed in under half an hour (which is particularly good as I am not that handy). Again, thanks. Cheers.

This worked great and fixed my LiftMaster in 15 minutes. Appreciate the explanation of how to release the tension by loosening the front nut. Then I changed the adjustment screw back off the up limit so not hitting the stopper bolt. Simple explanation to the point with not a lot of bs and fluff. Can’t tell you how many videos are out there about opening the whole garage door or motor assembly and check in spindles and gears. Simply taking a few minutes and observing what was happening, was very helpful in seeing that your video was the correct fix

Don’t know if you see this, but just wanted to let you know that 3 years later your video is still helping people. I spent so long watching many other videos and going through my lift master manual with nothing that remotely came close to your remedy. I saw your video and immediately the same sound mine had was coming from yours, which was a huge relief. Too your advice and now all is running smoothly! Thank you again!

Our model is the exact same. Was installed in 2011 so it is out of warranty. I called the local garage door co who installed it, was told it would be a $105 service charge plus parts if any. Thanks to a quick Google search For garage door buzzing sound, I found your video and solved my issue. Thanks for the clear instructions. We now have a working door and saved $105+!

Thanks BIG TIME! A month ago my garage door was frozen to the ground when we had sub zero weather & when I jiggled it loose it jolted open & went too far hitting the stop bolt which was a mystery to me. I've been opening & closing it manually till the weather warmed up a bit & was going to call a service repair guy. In the back of my mind I was thinking he'd tell me my Sears opener was out of date & I'd have to have a new one installed $$$$$$. It's a bit warmer now & I came across your video & it was spot on! The exact same symptoms & scenario. I took a look at the trolley & sure enough it was wedged into the washer (with the same humming noise). I followed your simple & quick fix & bingo-bango, it moved & I tightened it back up & it worked! Fixed! I thanked God & again, I want to thank you!

Thank you! This is the exact video that I needed to help solve my problem. Had this very issue with a Chamberlain 3/4 HP opener. **side note** - When trying to loosen the nut you mentioned, it would start to turn the chain (where it is attached to the bolt). I had to grab a set of channel locks and grab where chain connects to bolt in order to keep from turning / spinning the whole chain on that side while I loosened the nut. (A little worried the chain is a little too loose now.) Nonetheless, the garage door opener works fine and opens & closes the door . Very much appreciated. Thanks again.

The buzzing sound had me worried. This video was the perfect fix. Now I know a thing or two about garage doors. I wasn't so confident I could fix this myself but I did thanks to you man. Power went out for 3 hours after a freaky thunderstorm and my wife had to leave the house for emergency grocerries on a Sunday. I had to dislodge the lever and lift up the door so she could leave. While trying to lock the traveller back on the lever I might have done a few back and forths and that jammed the traveller against the rail nut. Had to watch another video to learn how to reprogram to set back the max up/down travel points. Anyway now I got it back in business, took only 2 hours lol.

One more person very happy to have found this video. Yup, stuck. Won't move. Should I just hammer it? (No!). It's happened once or twice before, but now twice in a week. Loosening the bolt is the trick. Then the trolley zipped right along, we latched up and all is well. And this unit is from 1995, so it's been a workhorse. Thanks for taking the time to post this. There's always a new Homer coming along with the same problem.

Manually raised the door and knocked down my chain and vise grips from my settings marks. Needless to say I was pissed when I found out. And of course once I finished and opened it - worked like a charm then got stuck in the open position. I’ll tackle the corrections tomorrow.

Thanks, I replaced a missing bolt on my rail (caused a sag) and then the inner trolley bound up at that spot. followed this video, fixed the very slight misalignment, & it works now.

I can't thank you enough for this video. My opener was driving me crazy -- I could tell the travel was jammed (my kids threw something up there that must have caused it), but had no idea how to fix it. Five minutes after your video, it's all back to normal!
