It's really nice. I love it. No batting? Just the flannel backing? That would suit our climate perfectly. Tracy you are an inspiration. You take the 'daunting' out of quilting.
I am going to give it a try. I have to buy some fall fabrics and mix it up with what I have. I watched the video several times... And I will watch it again when I get to sewing. Thanks for the scrappy quilt idea. 😊
I'm 'WITH' you and 98% of the time I can't find my own oopsies. I really like you giant Scrappy Quilt, so it's on my list. Your friend from New Mexico, Carla 🎶💖💐
Hi there. I finally found a channel that is easy to understand and follow along. I am thrilled with your videos so far. Thank you! 💖from Saskatchewan, Canada 🇨🇦
I'm glad you are not sick. I like the flannel, did one on my Christmas quilt last year, nice and cozy. I do scrappy quilts and practice my free motion quilting on them, so they have an array of quilting on them. I'm thinking this quilt would be good with all my bandanas, will be a colorful quilt for sure.
Hi! Judy here. This is such a beautiful quilt. Such vibrant colors. Love bright colors, love Thanksgiving/Fall, love scrappy quilts. This is a win, win, win. Love your new glasses. I also love red, my favorite color!! Thank you so very much for sharing!! ❤️
I've never been a scrappy quilter before I saw your videos. I just didn't know how to get started or what I cand do with all my scraps! You are very easy to follow & inspiring!! Thank you
I just started making a scrappy quilt, I first recreated your scrap wall of fame and boy was that so much fun. I never played with fabric like that before. Thank you for all your ideas and techniques. I have completed 2 quilts and still have 8 tops to make into quilts. Slow and steady as I'm learning every day from you. Thanks again and have a safe and wonderful Labor Day weekend.
Once again you provide the solution to something I started and got myself stuck. Bonus, I saw one of your viewers comments and it reminded me of something I had given up on that this will work for. Thank you times a million. You’re amazing.
I did a quilt kit, used patterns, but scrappy quilting just makes me so darn happy! I am senior, so i have been working on my quilting bucket list...only a couple more to do. I go back to my scrappy quilting as a reward! Lol!
Now that i'm retired... i've been sewing this way all the time... so much more fun! PLUS a gals gotta sew fast to use up a lifetime of "stash"! I'm 76!
I'm still too new to sewing/quilting to be trusting my seam line as a straight line.😂 Everything I have learned has been from you and the other quilt creators. Ty for all your assistance.
Tracy, great scrappy quilt. I was never a fan of making scrappy quilts myself but enjoyed looking at them. After watching Karen Brown of Just get it done and you, I began saving my leftovers and cutting them into usable sizes. Then started using my 2 1/2” squares as leaders and enders. From there they grew into larger blocks and became tote bags. Now I absolutely love scrappy quilts and very colorful fabrics. So thank you for encouraging me and many others. You are one of my favorite go to quilters. You can teach an old dog new tricks. Thanks again Tracy.
I think once a quilter tries a scrappy quilt ...they never look back. They are very addicting haha🤣 Thank you for supporting my channel...it means so much to me❤️
I have a new Juki J350 and am working on my first quilt. I have flipped the edge of the backing twice!! At least it was at the edge like yours. Thanks for this quick block quilt.
🍁Definitely🍁 I've never had allergies but you are probably right...maybe that's what it is because I'm totally not feeling sick at all...it's just my hideous voice haha🤣
@@TheSewingChannel the pollen count is really high here because of all the harvesting and smoke from fires in Canada and surrounding areas. So it maybe 🧐 that. Smoke is the worst one for me. Hopefully your voice clears up soon. I also enjoy your videos 😁
I think I’ve done every stupid little mistake there is in quilting lol I absolutely love scrap quilts!! When my scrap bin gets low I either make more or go online and buy scrap bags. To me its the ultimate use of color which I love!! Thanks Tracy!! ❤
Thank you for all the delightful "scrap" quilts you have shared! You have inspired me to try them...I have and now I'm addicted! Your videos make me smile and encourage me to enjoy having a break from other more involved (aka difficult) patterns.
Another inspirational video and quilt. I loved your crumb cake quilt so much that I have made two of them. The freedom of just adding pieces without measuring is liberating. Thanks so much.
Wonderful, fall colors on the Fall Log Cabin quilt. I started scrap quilting when I filled a large basket of treasures cut from the quilts I had made... I enjoy all your vids, thanks for sharing your creative ideas.
I have made similar blocks/ quilts before but the largest I let my blocks be is about 21-22 inches because I have a 20 inch square that I use to trim the final blocks to an exact size. Exact size blocks makes it so much easier to assemble.
Hope your voice returns to normal soon, Tracy. Loved this technique! I'm a newer quilter but it has made sense right from the start that a throw quilt should have flannel on it! It is so cuddly. Even on a summer quilt, if you want to cover up, it's to get warm and flannel will do it better than regular quilting cotton. Plus it is not "plastic" like some of the other backing options. I enjoy watching your channel! Thanks. Donna
Yes my voice is already getting better...thank you🧡 I totally agree with you on fabric choice if it will be cuddled with❤️ My family will not cuddle with a quilt that has regular cotton for the backing🤷🏻♀️
Could you just put the smallest square in one outer corner and then just square up two sides? Instead of trimming all? So much fun hearing your process, always beautiful results. ❤
I do scrappy and scrappy wonky, where I stitch up “square” and then take a square ruler, lay it on odd angles and cut all the way around the ruler so the whole thing is more like a crazy quilt.
Your scrappy quilt technique sound like so much fun❣️ I've done something similar but not with intentional odd angles...you have my mind going now hahah
Scrappy quilts are just about all I do! No heirloom quilts for me! And the bigger the pieces, the better😍
It's really nice. I love it. No batting? Just the flannel backing? That would suit our climate perfectly. Tracy you are an inspiration. You take the 'daunting' out of quilting.
Thank you Sue.🍁 I used a thin cotton/poly 80/20 blend from Heirloom in this one. But you could make without the batting for sure✅
Gostei muito. Preciso aprender a colocar o forro atrás do quilt. Obrigada.
I have never done a scrappy quilt with such large fabric pieces, but I really like this. Thank you for sharing this pattern idea. 😊😊
Oh yeah! I have done that several times! You are not alone!!
You can magically put Fabric together with colors and always looks perfect. Thank you for your tips
Scrappy quilter here 🎉. That's a great scrappy quilt right there. Thanks for the video 😊
You are so welcome!🧡🍁🧡
I have certainly made the same debacle. I once sewed a plastic bag to the back of a table topper!😲🙄😊
oh wow...a plastic bag? I'm afraid to ask how that happened haha🤣
I am sooooo going to make this quilt. I like big blocks and I cannot lie! 🙂April

I love the scrappy look. It's beautiful with all those fall colors.
Elaine Benes quilts! lol You remind me of Julia Louise Dreyfus :)
LOL🤣 really? that is so funny because I have been told that several times before🤣
I so love how you do scrappy…so freeing and yours are so cuddly! I’ve got to free up how I do things😂😂
Free it up Sandra!!!! LOL🤣
Love fall quilts! Glad the oopsie at the end was an easy fix! Great idea for a video. ❤

I do both scrappy and patterns but love scrappy. I am now prepping for a potato chip quilt and next will be your Illusions.

I would say it worked. Great scrappy tutorial. Thank you for a fun idea.
