The dinar is one of the most strongest currencies in the world, in fact, the Kuwaiti Dinar has been the strongest currency from time to time. Also, these guys dont have formula engineers and specialists its just regular guys taking it as a hobby
That is a 40 degree incline on loose sand without special paddle tires and they cover 300 - 500 feet in 6 - 10 seconds. I'd love to see those formula off road trucks that you mentioned do that with no problems.
Sohaib, I stand corrected, I just used the Dinar as a non-US$ currency to illustrate that other currencies exist and are used - the only currency I could think of on the fly from around that part of the world. Still friends? There are many, many different forms of 'off-road' motorsport and, vehicle to vehicle, some of those builds would be rather more expensive than the ones in this video. Those different vehicle sports/competitions will also have different regulations and 'spirit' - probably the fastest thing up those hills would be a sand-rail, but not sure how acceptable it would be. BTW, been a fan and follower - to a point* - of the Nordic/Icelandic nutters for 20 years, or more :-) *As in, if it is on, or I come across it, I'll watch it, but rarely seek it out.
I'm sure they have class restrictions here. They probably have to meet a minimum weight to qualify. (Prett descent sized SUVs seem to be preferred). A formula offroad truck would make it up there, but probably would not be allowed to compete alongside.
@@theaussie6526 Yeah. I'll be honest, The majority of those in attendance were men but you will see some women there. Most of them are there with family.
Yeah, honestly, the reporter came at this with little knowledge, definitely no passion, and reported on it, like it would be politics... Talking about stuff like accidents like that is something that needs to be changed and stopped... if it's made safer, that's great, but accidents are a normal part of racing, and we already know from history how to kill interest in motorsport by making it too safe (Current rallying vs Group B, F1 in the 80-90s vs current)... Making stuff super safe doesn't always mean that it's an improvement. And don't get me wrong, I don't want to see anyone dying at all, but I do think that that danger element is exactly what makes it unique and pure..
Some people are just sensitive to their surroundings, like me for an example... I hate it when people lock their car doors & the horn startles me especially when it’s right nearby of me.
I was there last December. It was some event there. We slept there for a whole week where the LIWA festival was there. The road to t'al Al Ro'b is probably the most dangerous road I have ever been to. At night people drive at 120kmph and you can't see shit. Dangerous, but fun.
A person who has diahorrea spilling from their ass doesn’t good. Yet someone with ignorance and hate spewing from their mouth thinks they look good. Weird.

richness can afford all the fun
I love the UAE, them people love everything that Americans love! 🇦🇪 ❤️ 🇺🇸
Especially planes, buildings and demolition.
@@krotchlickmeugh627 I mean u guys did a lot of that too. Also the hell does the UAE have to do with this ?
@@mohammedkhan2303 whose you guys?

Man, the presenter seemed like he had absolutely no idea what was going on around him, anywhere lol. He was told that was a GTR engine in the Garage. Then at the race he was told again and acted surprised likes he hasn’t heard it before LOL. Really bad interviewer
Worst host for this segment should cover stories for idk plant growing or something guy has no clue what he's looking at or talking about
This culture is so badass. To visit and be apart of it would be amazing.
Boyan is a badass tuner ...guys a legend in UAE
Terrible presenter, no automotive knowledge at all. VICE DONT USE PEOPLE THAT DONT KNOW WHAT THEYRE TALKING ABOUT. I hated watching this even though i find this topic interesting.
ohZyki
Ikr..
His car broke down
The car has issues
I would of liked to learn more about the vehicles
He speaks the language
None of them have automotive knowledge. Just other people’s money to pay for someone else to build, repair, and buy their cars. Rich oil brats and nothing to do but spend money makes them “pros” in Motorsport. Eff these dorks.
@@TryNotToHate1 You wish you had that kind of money don't you? Most expensive and limited edition cars are sold to Arabs before they even get on the show stage. Money is money either from oil or 'weapon'.
Wait, these drivers spend MILLIONS on engines? Impressive.
They have a large amount of money and not a whole lot to spend it on. That's why you see them with big cats as pets. Gotta flaunt it somehow
Unimpressive, evil even.
I wonder if they give some money to the poor.
If they have to do it then it is a tax lol
Literally every single thing they say is a lie.
"how easily can you get out if something happens"
(something happens to a guy on the hill)
"Why are you confident it won't stall in the race?"
(Stalls in the race)
You jinxed it!
That turbo on the grand cherokee😮💨
still dont understand why some dont run a filter on the turbo when theyre racing in a SAND dune... smh
IYlercy probably because the engine has a 30 seconds life they prefer a higher air flow than more durability
Because they have enough mone el=y just to scrap it and just another one, or a new engine if they want the frame and everything still. They dump Ferraris and Lamborghinis on the side of the highways after crashing them going fast as fuck
Power reduction
i would rather lose 5 hp than blow up my engine. and since when does running a turbo filter cause an oil leak LOL.
Formula off road trucks don't spend "millions on their engines alone" and would make it up that hill no problem.
Collectively, they would - but perhaps he was referring to a currency that was of a lower nominal worth? Dinar, perhaps?
BTW, been a fan and follower - to a point* - of the Nordic/Icelandic nutters for 20 years, or more :-)
*As in, if it is on, or I come across it, I'll watch it, but rarely seek it out.
I'm sure they have class restrictions here. They probably have to meet a minimum weight to qualify. (Prett descent sized SUVs seem to be preferred). A formula offroad truck would make it up there, but probably would not be allowed to compete alongside.
When you have tons of sand , money , Oil and free time to put them together .
Are you jealous? Lol
talk about stereotypes
This reporter has done zero research and needs more experience overall
Been there in 2016, its a must for anyone visiting the UAE in winter
Even women
@@theaussie6526 Question or statement?
Does the host even have a drivers license? He seams clueless. It’s like watching a CNN host try to talk about guns.
Maybe just a 25cc scooter license
A better example would be, a fox news host explaining the 1st amendment.
Hahahaha so true
Russian troll much?
Tak Giant or a CNN host talk about the 2nd
Host "We weren't expecting him to even make it half way"
Paul walker from heaven "no fate"

That presenter wanted ear protection because of the backfires. lmao what a gay
Some people are just sensitive to their surroundings, like me for an example... I hate it when people lock their car doors & the horn startles me especially when it’s right nearby of me.
Blakhawk1703 I have gay friends who are harder than him 😂
Forreal
Let's see how tough you will be with your tinnitus in a few years. Ear protection won't seem so gay when your ears will ring 24/7.
Lol yeah have fun with your tinnitus.
This presenter 😖 Knows nothing about engines... or cars, he should probably stick to making documentaries about drug addicts 😂
He knows Arabic, which is helpful in the Middle East 🙄
Well said bro....
I agree he sounds gay
Yeah, exactly. Why make a mini-doco on something you know nothing about. You need to know a bare minimum to understand which questions, etc. to ask.
he doesnt even know anything about drugs....
Hey ESPN....... You need to carry this. This is top fuel drag racing uphill on sand. At night. Srs I love these guys
Ok this is on my bucket list now!
13.05 "oh something happened to the engine"... I'll tell you what happened you jinksed him!

InshaAllah doesn’t mean “luck” VICE
God willing
I was there last December. It was some event there. We slept there for a whole week where the LIWA festival was there. The road to t'al Al Ro'b is probably the most dangerous road I have ever been to. At night people drive at 120kmph and you can't see shit. Dangerous, but fun.
there is probably nothing else to do other than driving mad ......
A person who has diahorrea spilling from their ass doesn’t good.
Yet someone with ignorance and hate spewing from their mouth thinks they look good.
Weird.
"We didn't expect him to make it" what the the hell man
"It's a gtr motor, not a Nissan" what?😂
By nissan they normally mean the nissan patrol engine
Arabs use this term always and people over there understands it
lolol 12:55 Gabriel Iglesias wasn't lying when he said UAE loved Jeff Dunham. " I KEEL YOU. "
