This is one video I will be watching over and over thanks brother
Right on!
Super duper helpful! I have pages and pages 📄 of instructions that would have taken forever to figure out. Thank you! 🙏
Glad to help! I have just about every part of a first gen bird build on the channel and if you don’t see it let me know I will see about adding it.
I have to commend you , all your videos are like need to know and your execution is spot on . I'm going to dial in the windows on my goat that i didn't know they needed.. I appreciate you very much. Thank you brother God bless.
Glad to help. I wanted to share what I have learned over the last nearly 30 years Of playing cars. In the hopes of expediting the learning process for others and reduce the mistakes. Heck I even learned a lot on this build as well. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel I do appreciate it.
I love this guy's content!
Well much appreciated!!
Good job John! 👍🏽
Thanks!! Don’t have much till this one is completed
Pumpkin sure is looking good. Aligning glass was a need to know, thank you for the video!
Thanks. The extra time invested on the details is really showing it rewards now. So close to the finish line.
Great video thank you.
Very welcome
Great info , clearing up some more mystery’s super valuable information Thanks for all you do
Of course, this glass so
Many times is left in misalignment but it really isn’t to bad to dial it in especially with a little insight on how.
Definitely looked easy...but I know its not that easy! Thanks for sharing !!
Really isn’t too bad once you figure out what all adjustments are available and what moves what. Then just small movements till it lines up.
THE BEST EXPLAINATION of how to adjust the glass on our First Gen Birds!!!!!!!! A++++++++ Job Brother!
Thanks, next I see your bird that glass better be perfect 🤩 😎
Great video! When I do my retire, I’ll be fine adjusting my windows now!
They aren’t that bad once you get a feel and understanding of what moves what. Good luck.
Another great video!
Thank you!
Thanks for the video. Very helpfull
Great!
Good instructional video, thanks for sharing
Anytime. I received a nice package, love the shirt watch for it soon on the channel too
@@VinylVillageGarage awesome
Litle known fact, At the assembly plant, door glass was adjusted and set by two workers. One on the inside and one on the outside with suction cups. The fit was set by the outside worker with loose adjusters and the inside worker would tighten the adjustment fasteners. Process took minutes.
That’s cool. I wondered how it was done, be cool to see that in action. Heck I would watch the entire car getting assembled
Very good info, I can use on my 65 GTO
Fantastic! Nice car.
Very nice
Plenty of adjustments you can really dial this glass in for a very clean operation
And a sneak peek of the headliner 😊💪😎
Yup. That is Friday’s video
Great insight and solutions to something that could’ve been very frustrating. Excellent video.👍👍
Thanks tried to keep it simple and just show what moves what and why.
My quarter windows have never made a good seal along the top of the glass.
Now they will!
Thanks for another informative video.
Perfect, these cars had all kinds of adjustments compared to new cars so with a little investment of time you can dial them in spot on and make them fit great!
Do you always start with the quarter glass? Should you start with the door glass first? Or do you just keep going back and forth until you get it right? Thanks so much for all the explanation on how to adjust! I didn’t realize on the quarter glass it be adjusted in/out. I learn so much on this channel and very much appreciate you work to teach us.
I start with the 1/4 glass but yes you need to move them both a little until you get the glass in place the goal is to get the glass sealed and evenly contacting the seal as possible. I had a repop passenger glass and it was made wrong and never fit. I still have in a box if anyone wants it.
All your videos are top notch, a lot of common sense, well thought out, your filming is good. You make it all look easy, and we know it's not. If you don't mind who are you on P Y.
Thanks ! I appreciate all of that! I’m not sure what the PY stands for, but would definitely like to learn. Thanks again!
Ames performance has a forum Ames used to be called Performance years , I think , and the form was PY forums
@@tininjin1 got it. Makes sense now.
Great video...would you know if 67 hard top and convertible door glass are the same ?? Thx
From what I understand the door glass is same coupe and convertible. Now the 1/4 glass is not the same.
@@VinylVillageGarage ok thanks for the response, I will have to align my glass. Thx for the video. Great job !!
Hi Jon ,glad you got the vinyl roof sorted ,like you i need to bring my first gen camaro door glass inwards to touch the rubber ,not quite clear on the video ,i see you tightened the two bolts on the small plate on the top of the door ,i assume you slackened them off first and levered the plate inwards or pulled the glass in then tightened them up again ? tia Neil
Yes on those two bolts on the rear of the door glass take that loose and you can move the glass forward/backward or in and out. Keep it steady because it will move quite easy.
@@VinylVillageGarage that's brilliant,many thanks Jon
Hey Jon, great video; as always. Have a question, where did you source the round side view mirrors?
eBay specials, check if this link works.

Thanks Jon, worked perfectly!! @@VinylVillageGarage
What would you recommend to lubricate the tracks?
I used bearing grease, after a thorough cleaning.
Thank you:)@@VinylVillageGarage
My drivers side door Glas is rocking back and forth. I havnt taken it apart yet. Ive just been running it with the window down since i bought it but cold weather is almost upon us. Any ideas why it is teadering when it is rolled up?
Just figured it out
Awesome,
Was it missing or loose bolts?
@@VinylVillageGarage missing a nut and it had about a 2 inch gap in it and the seal. It wouldnt roll up all the way. I was able to get it ajusted to where it has about a quarter inch gap along the windshield side a d I cant seem to get it to roll up anymore than that.
Thank you. I just installed glass all around on an F-body. I tried to explain to the guy (my boss) that without the adjustment bolts the quarters will not and will never align properly. I had one of these cars when I was 16, and rebuilt it from the frame up. He argued with me for an hour and I finally caved and said, fine, I'll install them with regular bolts. But it won't align and the job is not done correctly. And I will say "I told you so" when the time is right. He knows paint; I know builds. But apparently being able to paint means you know fucking everything.
You will find everyone is an expert…..well in their own minds. I like confidence but humbling yourself to be able to learn is better way to live. Experience is everything when it comes to these old cars
@@VinylVillageGarageThe owner came into the shop today to drop off some interior parts. The guy I work with thought he'd show me up by trying to adjust the windows in front of the owner without the weatherstripping installed. The owner was like, "What the hell are you doing?" He told my boss to let me work the car and give me what I need to do the job correctly.
I got my "I told you so" moment sooner than I thought. However, my boss still argued with me. He's kind of an idiot.
@@jc71480 lol, well take the victory when and where you can. It is nice to be right
