@Mind Over Munch my favorite always is changing, but currently Cinnamon Toast Crunch! I do love Kix, and I’m trying it for the first time, and wow it’s good! It kinda tastes (without milk) like the Filipino corn ball snack, sweet corn! So, if you love sweet corn and haven’t tried kix, you should get on that!

As a type 2 diabetic, I watch sugars and don't eat much cereal. Although, I'd rather choose one for fiber.
The sugar counts are BEFORE you add milk, almond milk or any other milk. Right? Some people forget they're adding more sugar with their milk so, thought I'd mention it.
Great video. Get your healthy proteins in your meals. Getting hungry shortly after a meal is usually because the meal was mostly carbs and not balanced with protein.
I know your video is centered only on cereal info.

I keep seeing ads on Instagram for “The Cereal School” advertising low carb sugar free Keto friendly cereal??? Could that be the answer? It’s too expensive for me but peaked my curiosity, would love to see a video on them! Cereal and I have mostly broken up because I’ve realized it’s empty eating and I tend to eat at least two bowls or one big bowl at a time because I love it so much. We always had three our four open boxes between my brother and I growing up, I’ve always loved it. Every once and a while I’ll treat myself and get a box.

Okay I can actually answer you on this. As a fellow cereal lover those IG ads also caught my eye and I in fact bought them from the cereal school. I have no affiliation with them and hate to bad mouth anyone but to be honest the cereal was absolutely NOT edible. It was so bad in texture and tasted like sweetener overload. I could not even eat one bag so it's sitting in the box still. Again, I am not trying to hate on the company and love what they are doing in theory but the execution did not work out on this one. I would not recommend buying it!

My current pick for "seemingly healthy" cereal is Heritage Flakes from Nature's Path. 1 cup has 5 g of sugar, but it also has 5 g of protein and 7 g of fiber, so it's one of the few cereals that will satisfy me for a while. I also like the the peanut butter flavor of Kashi Go! and it's super filling because of the soy protein, but it's much higher in sugar and calories. I also don't generally buy sugary cereals because I have no sense of portion control. 😹(My work supplies some snacks, including cereals, in communal snack kitchens and they just added Lucky Charms to the mix and it's sooo dangerous, I try to pretend it's not there.)

I have and I think it's a silly distraction from health for most people; my opinion is if people consuming "natural flavors" in their carbonated water/foods is the worst thing they are doing, they're doing pretty darn good. Instead, I encourage people to focus on getting processed foods OUT and learning to love whole foods. This is a far bigger problem than natural flavors.

You should got to fooducate and check out what they say about these products. It will inform and alarm you, as well it should.

Growing up, my mom always wanted me to be healthy, so I basically ate sugarless, and bland corn flakes my whole life.

There's some crazy cool keto cereals being advertised on facebook right now. Unfortunately you need to take out a 2nd mortgage to afford them 😂

@@Mggrande998 I can imagine. Uch, just don't even bother trying to eat cereal! I skip breakfast and eat an egg at about 1:00 🤣
But I'm the oddball in the bunch, I've never liked cereal. Hate bread too You can imagine I love keto 😆

Homemade musili, oats, dried fruit, nuts and seeds completely customizable, it’s my go to cereal but I’ll admit I do love an occasional bowl of cinnamon life

  • @kijackson92

No added sugar or salt: Grape Nuts and some generic brands, shredded wheat and Uncle Sam's (wheat and flax).

I am celiac and even tho cheerios say they are gluten free they are NOT safe for celiacs. They are cross contaminated with other things. In Canada (any) cheerios are not allowed to call themselves gluten free for this reason. Any food can say they are gluten free with 20 pp of gluten in it which still isn't safe for celiacs.
