I have this exact washer. It’s about 8 months old and I’m on the 4th repair. There’s actually a class action lawsuit against them. Will never buy Maytag/Whirlpool again.
Mine out of the box not working, have to play around to work. Missed my old simple dryer.

Hey thanks for the video. This didn’t work for me, but something else did so thought I’d share. I performed what seems to be a reset. Unplugged, pressed power button for 5 secs, pressed play/pause button for 5 secs, plugged back in. Powered on and it began the cycle.

This washer is the biggest pile of crap I've ever purchased. Its always off balance. Can't even wash a few tshirts without it cutting off.

Bought mine 5 months ago, It will lock lid then turn off. Drum will spin then it will either lock again and start. But mostly will go directly to done. I've had 2 repair techs here waiting on 3rd :(. Will never buy another Maytag again!!

Brand new yesterday, one small load of whites and sounded like rocks in the tub. Washed for crap. Second load today, won’t spin, and computer is screwed up! FIRST AND LAST MAYTAG!!!

If all else fails, unplug the washer for about 10 seconds. It should reset the electronic components. Then put your washer on the "Clean washer" cycle and run it.
Mine would show a feature by default so unplug the power won’t work. You have to manually turn off all feature lights.

So when I do this mine won’t even start to balance, then jumps straight to done, tries to drain then says done. Any ideas?

It was the capacitor but fortunately it was under warranty. He mentioned it was easy to spot because of some gray substance on the ground

Couple people commented same issue you have but no solution yet. If you find what’s wrong with it, pls share.
When the lid is closed the start button must be pressed. When you closed the lid you didn't press start. Hold start button until you hear a click the door light will not come on at the point. The machine will make several clicks {it takes a moment}and then the drum will move slightly and the door latch will closed.
If I don’t turn off all the features, my machine won’t start period.

Just got this machine and figured it out last night... I thought it was broken at first or electrical issues. I'm not sure if I have the patience for this. Makes me wish I got the front loader instead..

We bought this exact maytag washer 2 weeks ago, after 1st wash I wasn't happy. It doesn't fill enough water no matter if on high and deep fill. I put jeans in on bulky load, water didn't cover jeans. I called Maytag said we didn't want this washer lady said what's problem told her but didn't matter she said we can't return or exchange. The washer is built to use less water. So I've had to add buckets of water to my wash. It's not right to show advertisement with huge washer FULL of water washing away lol that's false advertisement. Gov control for maytag ge all new washers, they've lied to consumers. We're going to find a better solution don't know what yet but not filling water to a washer I pd $700 for that's supposed to thoroughly submerge your clothes in order for them to get clean. OK, done with my rant. Happy journeys peeps 😊

Drain and drain and drain before you get tired of hearing it, already replaced then actuator but same problem. Ended up messing with the lid lock and actually took it apart, and I can’t get it back together, but still stuck on what caused the original problem before I spend more money on parts

Yup that’s the same as mines and the warranty people totaled it out I’m getting a new washer. And won’t be buying this again

im having a problem where my washer started a cycle and stopped mid cycle with clothes and water in it. latch is locked cant get it open now all it does is blink the lock light and wont do anything

What’s the difference in cold, cool, tap cold ? I just purchased
The cold and cool only apply if you hook up the hot water line. Cold and cool setting has a mix of hot water to it. The tap cold setting is just water comes straight from the tap.

anyone have advice on how to reset for the lid lock feature? I've been trying all of these resets and nothing is doing the trick. I've replaced 3 parts and it still won't lock when I hold the start button like it should.

Mine does the same thing. The lid locked light never comes on. Makes a few sounds, and then the LED goes straight to DONE. Piece of crap.

You have to hold the start button down to get the washer to start.
mine won't start unless remove the features
@ChadHer there is also a hard reset that involves lifting and closing the lid 6 times. I work at an appliance parts store, and we had a service guy replace both the control board and user interface board, and the washer would not power up. We found the lid reset on a Google search, and it worked for him. Hopefully someone reads this and it helps. God Bless!

Any chance you know what to do when it was in the middle of a cycle, and the power flickered and now the sense button is always on, i can change the options but when you press and hold the start button, it starts filling up the boxes from left to right like normal, but doesnt start the cycle back up. the power button doesnt do anything either rn. any help would be appreciated man

Was able to fix mine without calling for service -
Unplugged the main power
Unsecure and lift up the control panel
Remove the connection between the button/knob board and the main board
While that’s disconnected, plug the main power back in - wait for the circuit to cycle through a series of green flashes, then it should power on (Be patient this took ~5 mins)
Unplug the main power then reconnect the button/knob wire to the main board
Resecure the panel and plug main power in

Yes, once it start it locked. If yours not lock and still working then it’s better. Sometimes I want to add more clothes but I can’t open cuz it’s lock.

Looks like your washer has already started. Before your washer start anything, turn off all features then start.

Same here. Mine is going on 2 years old, never worked well and now doesn't work at all. Piece of crap, very disappointed with Maytag. I picked them because of the whole made in the USA deal, they are headquartered in my state. My next will be from Korea, unions are killing US companies. Anyways, consensus seems to be start capacitor, doubt that will fix mine since all functions seem to work in calibration/test mode. It's a fairly cheap part so I will try replacing it and then set this 2 year old piece of junk to the curb in favor of a quality Craigslist model.

When your washer is not in use, turn it off and keep the lid open to allow it to air out. This helps prevent mold, mildew and bad odors. Run a washing machine cleaning cycle monthly, as well.

Basic instructions are in the owners manual. This is documented and if you read it will tell you how to operate the washer.
Owner manual won’t show you how I did it.
When you unclick the options my lights at the top sense , wash , rinse , and done are not turning off any suggestions ?

Is the water supposed to stay in the drum? Mine doesn't seem to be holding it.
Supposed to stay while in wash mode. Check make sure your main selection not in spin/drain mode
